Bella sat as calmly as she could onto the couch in the bride's room of the church. She was excited to be getting married to Alfred today; it would cement the relationship between both their two businesses and their love for each other. It would be the unity of the decade, with how popular both their chains were and with them running it all together making everything all the better!
"Bella? You there?" Erzsébet waved her hand in front of her face.
"Oh! Right, sorry, were you saying something, Erzsi?"
"I asked if you wanted the hairstyle we planned or try out something I found last night?"
"Eh, I'd rather go with the plan. I want everything to be absolutely perfect today!"
Erzsébet smiled warmly at her. "Alright, I'll get to work. Don't want to keep him waiting, do we?"
As Erzsébet was working with Bella's hair, her mind began to wander to the plans for the wedding itself.
The "cake" was to be made with Belgian waffle dough with chocolate chips baked into it and decorated with warmed chocolate syrup and chocolate flavored frosting between the layers. The whole chocolate theme had been Alfred's idea; he and his customers loved their chocolate chip classic waffles, and Bella had agreed because Belgian waffles could be amazing with some chocolate chips or syrup on top.
The whole restaurant was decorated floor to ceiling in beautiful faux flowers – primarily red poppies and roses, as well as some white roses sprinkled around the corners and outer edges of the pews – and they all had been fragranced to smell vaguely of their real counterparts, but the smells were made to be subtle and only hinted at.
The roses and poppies were there to symbolize not just their love and hope for the future, but also the unity between Bella, who was Belgian and Alfred, who was American. They were the national flowers of their respective countries of origin and having them together in every corner of the church helped to reiterate the fact of their unity.
"Alright," Erzsébet said as she placed her hands on her hips proudly, "I'm done."
She held up a mirror and showed Bella the hairdo she'd done.
Really, it was nothing too special; it was basically just her usual hairstyle of having it down and with a ribbon through it, tied in the back at the bottom of her head in a large bow. What Erzsébet had done was just the same usual hairstyle, but with curled tips and a Belgian flag patterned ribbon.
Bella took the handheld mirror from Erzsébet's hand to better admire her work from multiple angles. "Oh, Erzsi! It's beautiful!"
"Thanks," she said, "I do my best. Now, you need to get into that dress we got the other day." Erzsébet handed her a clothing bag and set off to leave the bride's room.
"Erzsi, wait." Bella called to her friend, her voice laced with worry, "Are you sure the breast size on it is…"
She turned around, smiled, and said to Bella with confidence, "I had it tailored, remember? It should fit perfectly. Now, get ready. Don't want to keep your lovely groom waiting!"
With that, Erzsébet left the room, closing the door behind her.
Bella sighed, still worried about the dress being too tight in her upper area…
I wonder how Alfred is doing right now…
