Everyone was still in shock about the last world. Most were talking about how cool the fight between Adam and Qrow was. However The Rose-Xiao Long family were not in a really good mood. After all they had seen their teammate/Uncle just get killed right in front of them. Yang was trying to cover up her tears but failing, luckily Team WB were comforting her, as for Ruby...
"Um Ruby could ya please let go?" Qrow asked to his niece who was wrapped tightly around him.
"NO!" She said with finality.
He sighed, "Listen kiddo, you don't have to worry, I'm not going anywhere. What happened to the other me won't happen to me."
"H-H-How do you know?! After what Tyrian did to you, I was so scared you were gonna die." She sniffled before burying her face in his chest.
Qrow winced, he remembered that, truth be told he himself thought he wasn't gonna make it, "Hey pipsqueak listen, what happened back then only happened cause that coward caught me with a sneak attack. If it were a fair one on one let's just say, he would've lost more than his tail." He said with a grin.
That got a small giggle out of her, "Ok I'll let go now." She said as she gently let go of Qrow and went back to her seat.
The huntsman took in a deep breath, "Damn kid you sure do have a mean grip on ya." He grinned.
Agnus then reappeared back in the theater, "Alright change of plans." He said.
"Did you find another world for us to watch?" Ren asked as he gave Nora some pancakes, who then tried to feed them to Oscar.
"Yes...but we aren't viewing that right now. Instead we're going back to the world you guys just watched." The watcher stated.
This got some shocked looks from the audience, "But the old man is dead, what do we need to see?" Merc groaned out , ignoring the glares from Qrow's family and friends.
Meanwhile Qrow was only focused on one part, 'I ain't that old.' He thought with a pout.
"Are you sure about that?" Agnus asked the assassin with a grin.
Cinder raised an eyebrow, "He was stabbed in the neck and the head, unless you're immortal there is no way to survive something like that."
Salem sneezed for some reason, but decided to ignore it.
"Well let's just put on the world and see." The watcher said, taking out his remote and turning on the screen.
Qrow didn't really care if his other survived to be honest but he was more worried if Amber and Summer were okay.
The scene started off with Adam walking away from the main building of the Star religious group. The cult that wanted one Amber Autumn dead, a job which he filled out and was paid handsomely for.
Just like that, Qrow's mood immediately dropped, "Damn it, even in another world I still failed her."
Oz also sighed sadly, Amber was a very bright and gentle soul. She truly did leave this world too soon.
Ruby then realized something, "Wait! What happened to mom?" She asked.
This got the family to become worried about Summer, she was the one protecting Amber and Adam killed her.
"Don't worry Summer's alive, Adam messed her up but she lived." Agnus assured them.
"Phew, so mom got away huh?" Yang asked, missing the way Raven flinched hearing her call Summer that.
"Got away? No Adam let her live. Truth be told he could've killed her but decided against it." The watcher stated.
This shocked everyone who knew Summer, she was one of the best Huntresses on the planet, "So he let her go because she wasn't her target?" Tai asked.
"That and Adam had already killed Amber. He gave Summer the option to run, but she attacked him out of rage and he absolutely destroyed her." Agnus said.
This prompted everyone to look at Adam, the young man in question looked to be off in his own world. He even looked to be muttering something to himself.
Adam had his hands in his pockets as he thought about what he could do with the money. Maybe spend it all on food? Go to the casino downtown? Or maybe even visit Meg-
'Nope.' He shook his head, not going down that route anytime soon, that's a can of worms he doesn't think he'll ever be ready to face.
The sun got in his eyes and he grumbled, putting up a hand to cover his face, he looked forward...and promptly froze.
Adam blinked his eyes to make sure he was seeing things right, in front of him was Qrow Branwen. His uniform was in tatters and covered in blood, some even got in his black hair. Though Qrow had his head down the entire time Adam observed him.
Silence, that's all that was there within the dimensional theater. Almost everyone blinked their eyes in shock checking to see if this was actually real.
Once it was confirmed that it was real, the Rose/Xiao Long family let out a loud cheer, "HE'S ALIVE! ALIVE!" Ruby shouted as she latched on to her uncle.
"But...But how, nobody could survive those types of critical injuries." James wondered.
"Who cares! My Uncle's alive and looks like he wants a rematch with bull boy." Yang said with a grin.
"Is that a good thing though?" Blake questioned, "We saw how badly Adam did him in in their first encounter and we don't know if he's fully recovered."
Surprisingly Raven stepped up to defend her brother, "No, he will win." She stated with a no nonsense tone.
Adam got out of stupor and took a deep breath, "Okay round two it is." He muttered.
Qrow then looked up at Adam with an unnerving smile on his face, "YO! Long time no see!" He greeted like the two were old friends.
Adam just stared at him in shock and confusion, "...Are you for real?" He asked still not believing this whole scenario.
Qrow gave a low chuckle, "Oh I'm for real real!" He then brought his hand up and moved some hair from his head, revealing the scar from when Adam stabbed him. "I'm still alive and kicking!" He exclaimed with glee, like a kid who just figured out a surprise his parents had for him.
"Reverse Cursed Technique." Adam growled narrowing his eyes at the teen.
Qrow's smile somehow got even bigger, "Ding, Ding, Ding! Give the man a prize!" He exclaimed while tapping his head with his thumb.
"Reverse Cursed Technique?" Oz asked, their host.
"RCT for short and it'll be explained shortly." Agnus stated.
"Hey, am I the only one getting a weird vibe from this Qrow?" Nora asked.
"No." Oscar responded, "He honestly seems like he's...high." The farm boy stated.
"When you stabbed me through the throat earlier, I completely gave up on fighting and started pouring every ounce of power I had into the reverse cursed Technique. Cursed Energy is negative energy, while it can enhance the body it can't regenerate it. So you multiply that negative energy against itself to create positive energy. That's the reverse cursed technique. Sounds simple enough right? Well I hadn't been able to do it until now! And the only other person I knew who could do it, couldn't explain for shit either!" Qrow ranted on, with a glazed over look on his face.
Adam looked on in interest and a bit of worry, 'He's babbling on and on...is he high?' Adam thought to himself as Qrow looked up to the sky with a downright insane smile on his face and his eyes appeared to be glowing brighter than before.
"Okay...I am honestly scared for Adam right now." Yang said with a wary look on her face, not really liking how Qrow appeared to be off one.
"I'm scared for me too." Adam admitted, actually agreeing with Yang.
"Did anyone understand his explanation about that reverse cursed thing?" Ruby asked as she honestly looked more confused than ever before.
"I understood." Oz said.
"I did as well." Salem said.
'Well aren't they old as shit and have magic?' Roman thought.
"I mean I also understood it." Qrow admitted which prompted EVERYONE to look at him like ahe grew a second head.
"What...is there something on my face?" Qrow asked while picking his nose.
"But on the verge of death I finally grasped it! THE TRUE ESSENCE OF CURSED ENERGY!" The strongest exclaimed to the heavens, "You should've chopped off my head, or at the very least use that cursed tool to destroy my brain. Because of that you've lost!" Qrow declared.
Adam had his head down and his hair covered his eyes, after that whole little rant, the only thing on Adam's mind was, 'The audacity of this little shit!' Adam was pissed at how Qrow could declare he lost after Qrow came waltzing back here like a zombie. 'That's exactly why I hate sorcerers. So damn arrogant!'
"Oh goddamn it Adam." Blake muttered with a face palm, he was willing to die back at Haven by blowing up the school instead of being arrested. Although most of his allies were subdued and the explosion was a way for them to escape.
"What? He's got some big balls for saying I'm the one who lost, especially after what my other self did to him!" Adam shouted.
Adam then slowly raised his hand up, "I've lost?" He questioned as the worm vomited up the Inverted Spear of Heaven, "Actually our fight is just beginning." He declared with a confident grin.
Qrow looked at him with genuine confusion, "Huh? Are you sure?" He then placed his hand on his chin like he was thinking, "You might be right..." Qrow then dropped his head down, his hair covering his eyes, before he started chuckling, he then threw his head backwards has he looked up to the sky with a pure psychotic look of absolute glee on his face. "WHO AM I KIDDING?! YOU'RE SO RIGHT! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" He shouted for the world to hear, laughing like a madman all the way.
"So...Adam's dead." Jaune stated.
"Oh totally."
"I mean I had some doubt before but not anymore."
"I'll honestly be surprised if there's even a body left to bury."
Adam grumbled, even though he himself had probably accepted that this version was going to get his ass kicked. He then felt someone tapping his shoulder, he looked to see Neo smiling at him before handing him an ice-cream in a cone. "Oh, thanks." He muttered, before giving it a lick, "Huh this actually tastes pretty good." He said with a genuine smile.
Neo smiled back before signing, 'Your welcome, I made it myself.' She then looked away with a mischievous smirk. 'I also used my 'special' milk~~~' She said in her head, looking down at her rather large chest.
Weiss looked on with a bit of jealousy and for a brief moment her eyes flickered to red.
Adam then charged at Qrow really fast, with a big smile on his face as well. He then tried to stab him but this time Qrow actually dodged, sidestepping Adam with ease. The assassin then turned the knife around and tried to slash Qrow again, but his blade met air.
Adam then glanced behind him and there was Qrow...floating...upside down. Qrow then held up his fingers in a handsign, 'Cursed Technique Reversal: Red.' A little red ball of energy appeared on Qrow's two fingers and with a mischievous smile, the strongest launched the attack and it hit Adam point blank, sending the assassin flying into the main building.
Adam coughed as he leaned against the wall, covered in some rubble. The bull looked up with a grin, a cut above his left eye started to bleed causing some blood to leak down his face. We then see that he was looking up at a floating Qrow, who had a look of pure bliss on his face.
"You damn monster!" Adam exclaimed, though Qrow seemed to ignore him.
"Oh he's cooked!" Merc exclaimed. He had a feeling Adam would get his ass whopped but not this bad.
"Look, Qrow's reacting to his attacks!" Winter pointed out.
"Hmmmm, it seems like Qrow is currently in the midst of an 'awakening'." Oz said.
"Awakening?" Ruby asked.
"Sometimes during a near death situation most huntsmen tend to evolve their semblances, or in some cases unlock their semblance. This causes them to feel a sense of euphoria, which causes them to act as if they are high." Oz explained.
Jaune looked down at his hands, he didn't really feel a sense of euphoria, it was more panicking to keep Weiss alive. 'But then again, it wasn't really a near death situation for me.'
Adam then got up from the ground and started stretching a bit, 'Okay, luckily nothing's broken and my internal organs aren't damaged, though my bones do hurt a bit. That shockwave earlier was the limitless, then the cursed technique reversal red, huh? So he poured the positive energy generated by the reverse cursed technique into the limitless technique ingrained into him.' He deduced.
'One, the power to stop. The neutral application of the limitless technique.' Adam mentally said as he pulled a chain out of the worm's mouth. 'Two the power to attract, the amplified application of the limitless technique, Blue.' Adam then grabbed the dagger off the ground, 'And three the power to repel, the reversal of his cursed technique, red.' Adam recapped as he hooked the chain to the ISOH.
"Wait. So this Qrow has the power to stop things from hitting him, the power to attract things which was that blue ball of energy and the power to repel things, which was that red ball of energy?" Raven asked just to make sure she wasn't mistaken.
"Yep." Their host said.
"So he's basically a walking cheat code." Raven said.
"I guess it makes sense why he was declared the strongest." Summer added in.
"That means we should give Adam some props. I mean he is fighting the strongest of the world and actually managed to beat him." Tai pointed out.
Adam then started spinning the chain with the dagger stuck to it, 'All things I can handle.' He told himself with a confident grin.
The screen then turned black, 'Something's off.' Adam's voice was heard, before it came back on.
Qrow who was still floating this whole time mind you, finally noticed Adam, giving him a glance. However that glance was all it took to wipe the smile off of Adam's face and replace it with a look of...fear.
As their eyes met, the voice came back, 'Something's off.' it whispered as Qrow stared him down.
Adam then smiled again, "No, everything's fine." He said aloud, "I'll kill you!" He declared before launching the chained dagger at Qrow.
Raven shook her head with a sigh, 'Never ignore you're instincts when they say something's off.'
Adam also gave a sad sigh, 'Welp it was fun while it lasted other me.'
Qrow stared at the knife with a bored look before throwing his head back to avoid it. Adam snarled and launched the dagger around the other pillars to try and attack from behind, Qrow simple bent his whole body backwards to dodge it. As he looked at the ISOH time seemed to slow, 'I'm sorry Amber. I don't feel sad about your death, nor do I feel any anger towards the one responsible.' Multiple images were shown, the sea in it's calming nature, wildlife and even small animals minding their business were shown.
'Right now all I feel is the pleasantness of this world.' Qrow then got into a pose, his right hand was pointing upwards to the sky, while is left hand was pointing at the ground below. He uttered a few simple words with a genuine and content smile on his face.
"Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one."
Everyone was shocked at how quickly the mood changed, it went from an epic battle, to an almost peaceful serenity.
"Huh...I feel calm." Ruby muttered out.
"Me too." Yang said as it honestly felt like even if she wanted to, she couldn't use her semblance, that's how at peace she was.
Qrow frowned a bit, hearing that his other didn't feel sad about Amber's death, though when he heard his other's thoughts, 'You know he is right, this world can be cruel most times...but it can also be beautiful just as many.'
"The honored one..." Salem said quietly, since she became Grimm Queen, she hasn't had a moment of calm, due to the Grimm pool, rage and destruction was mostly at her forefront. But now...here it made her feel, at peace, like how she was with Ozma before everything happened.
'To declare yourself that, you must truly be the strongest. I look forward to seeing you again, Mr. Branwen.' She mentally said.
Adam seemingly didn't care about that fact and launched the dagger again, this time throwing some rubble with him as a way to block Qrow's vision, however the strongest man alive didn't care. 'The merit of having a technique passed down from generations is having a user's manual. The demerit is that the information about the technique is easily leaked. You were a member of the Schnee Clan, weren't you? That's why you know so much about the limitless technique.' Qrow then raised up his hands in another handsign, 'However even in the Branwen clan, only a scant few know this. Take the amplified and reversal, then smash together those two different expressions of infinity to create and push out an imaginary mass.'
Qrow was then seen with a small purple ball of energy, 'Imaginary Technique: Hollow Purple.' He then flicked the ball at Adam, which destroyed the chain. The assassin could only stare in shock as the ball flew closer to him.
Many were shocked at the technique that Qrow just pulled out. The fact that it was something in the clan itself that only a few members knew about.
Meanwhile with Adam, "I was apart of the Schnees?!" He questioned.
"Eh kinda, your mother ended up having intercourse with a Schnee and your were born. You kept her last name 'Taurus' but when she died, she told you to go find your father in the clan." Agnus explained.
That made Adam fell a bit better, that he kept his mother's last name and not a Schnee.
'You know I could find a washing machine for us to get stu-'
'SHUT UP!' Weiss told the voice in her head
'Something's off.' Adam's voice said again, '"I refuse to do any work for free." Normally I would've said that and hightailed it out of there. Yet the freshly awakened wielder of the limitless technique was right before my eyes. He was probably the strongest jujutsu sorcerer of the modern age. I wanted to reject him. I wanted to bring him to his knees. I wanted to take down the pinnacle of the jujutsu world and the Schnee clan that rejected and abused me. I twisted myself to try to affirm myself.' It then showed the aftermath of purple, the entire left side of Adam's body was gone, leaving only a gaping hole that even went through the wall of the building.
"MONTY OUM!" Sun cringed seeing the damage done to Adam's body.
"How is he still standing?" Ren asked in shock.
Weiss and Winter frowned hearing that just like this world, Adam was abused by their family. What made it worse was that he himself was technically apart of the family to.
Adam could understand where his other was coming from, he had a feeling it wasn't just pride. It had to have been something more to fight what was basically the mortal equivalent of a god.
'You wanted to prove them all wrong. To prove that they were wrong about you. That you weren't weak, weren't a disgrace. I can understand that.' He thought looking at his hands, 'I guess I twisted myself to.'
'From that moment I had lost.' Adam realized, with a sad look on his face as he dropped the chain and then raised his arm to try and feel for anything on his left side but alas, there was nothing there. Adam looked at his hand, now covered in blood, his eyes started to get a little misty, 'I thought you had abandoned that pride.' He said to himself.
Suddenly a woman appeared, she had long black hair with a pair of cat ears on top her head. This was Blake Belladonna, his late wife and in her arms she cradled their son, Megumi Belladonna. He had a head full of red hair like his father with a pair of puppy dog ears atop his head and appeared to be sleeping peacefully in his mother's arms.
Gasps were heard around the theater, mostly those who knew the history behind Blake and Adam.
Kali was torn between gushing over how cute her grandchild was and scolding her daughter for getting married to an assassin.
Ghira was in the same boat as her, but he remembered how Adam was like before everything else. He was a bit shy and didn't really talk to anyone, he mostly stayed with Sienna. It was Blake who helped him get out of his shell.
Adam and Blake looked at each other for a bit, their eyes told a story of regret, pain and heartbreak. She was the first to look away.
Adam sighed, 'I don't blame her.' He thought, 'I pushed her away.' He then looked at the screen again, before looking at his hands. 'If I had put aside my pride, could I have had that too?' He questioned, before closing his eyes.
'Nah, I probably would've ruined that.'
"You know, Megumi means 'blessing' in Mistralian." Ren said.
Blake looked on shocked, before she smiled, "Looks like my other self chose a pretty good name."
"Actually, it was Adam who named your son." Agnus said.
This shocked them both once again.
'I thought you had chosen to live without respecting yourself or anyone else.' He said as the memory of his wife faded and he was brought back to reality where Qrow landed right in front of him. "Any last words?" Qrow asked.
Adam smiled and some blood leaked from his mouth, "Nah." He responded.
Then a memory came to him, it was of Megumi now four years old looking around the backyard of a house, he had the same blue eyes of his dad.
'Promise me that you'll take good care of Megumi okay.' Blake's voice rang out.
'Sorry Blake, I couldn't keep our promise.' He then looked at Qrow, 'But maybe there is still a chance.'
"In two or three years time, my son will be sold off to the Schnee Clan. Do what you will with that information." Adam said before he took his last breathe.
In the end what broke wasn't his body, or his pride...what broke was his heart. The screen then turned off.
SCENE END
The theater was silent upon the world ending.
"Wow..." Jaune breathed out, "That was...heavy."
"I know..." Ruby agreed with him.
"Mr. Taurus is putting a lot of trust in Qrow there." Oz said.
"Ah come on, sure the guy was a dick, but his kid didn't do anything." Qrow said.
"So does that mean you'll take him in?" Adam asked.
"I dunno bout that, but I'll definitely take him away from the Schnees." He responded.
Adam then gave a small smile, "Thanks."
"Okay now that it's done, I'll show you guys the other world I found."
