Chapter six:
Haruhi can't believe how many customers she gets on her first day as a new club member. She gets her moment of a small break and moves away letting out a breath not used to such attention. She turns noticing that Kyouya is nearby. She approaches him as he writes away in the black book of his.
"There will be one guest who no doubt has eyes on you." Kyouya speaks with Haruhi having been not sure that he had heard her approach when he did. He looks to Tamaki's table stopping his writing as Haruhi does the same.
One girl brushes a hand under her hair to make it wave slightly like it is in a breeze. She is currently hiding her horns and wings.
"That there is Seika Ayanokoji. A royal descendant of one of the royal families in hell that are below the seven deadly sins." Kyouya's words cause Haruhi to turn to him in surprise that she would be here. "Though their status means more in Hell than the surface it was believed that she would get some good experience on the surface." He adjusts his glasses with his eyes remaining hidden. "She is one of Tamaki's regulars. Here on a daily basis. She has however tried out every host at least once. And that will no doubt include you too."
Haruhi turns to look to the girl who turns to glance to them smirk then turn back to Tamaki who turns his attention to her. "Is there something specific I have to do? Some sort of custom or something that you want to warn me about?" She asks and the demon lets out a small chuckle.
"You catch on quick." Kyouya turns and Haruhi turns too.
Haruhi can almost swear that she can feel his gaze meeting her own despite that she can't see his eyes.
"There is a custom that you must know about before she will reach your table. Something not really discussed but is just a thing. At least something that demons do. So as long as you are in the school and in this club you will be expected to follow it as well. She likely will forgive you if you didn't know though will only explain it to you once. I think it'll be better for you to know way ahead of time. Anyone who hosts her or her family, that includes hosting for her in the host club we checked trust me, have to give her a bow when she comes to your table before helping to seat her like pulling out the chair for her. If she holds out her hand then you must gently take it with your left hand and kiss her ring finger. After this then you can treat her like any other customer. Hopefully you got all of that."
Haruhi blinks and her gaze turns downwards as she takes in all the information repeating it over and over in her head. "Okay. I got it." She confirms after going over it a few times to herself.
"Good. Now then. Back to your table." Kyouya nudges her in that direction as girls have already gathered for their turn.
Haruhi takes a breath to calm herself from any worry about being able to do what she has to do if Seika comes to her table. She heads to her table after that feeling as ready as she ever will be to host more girls.
After club time…
Haruhi walks along looking around the school halls wondering if she could have left her bag somewhere by accident. She can't find it and she really needs it since it has her wallet which has the money for the groceries for about the next month. She can't lose that money or else her and her father won't have much to eat for the next month. "Where could it have gone?" She wonders to herself and she just tries to remain calm to not get the magic out of control. She glances out the window about to ask for any higher being to be able to tell her. She blinks as she spots that her bag is floating in the pond. She gasps hurrying down to it. She gets in and picks up her wet now empty bag. She puts it on the edge of the pond only to glance up as wing flaps can be heard. She spots the host club flying by only to head her way.
The host club land by the pond and take a look at her bag then at the stuff still in the water.
Hunny looks down gaining a dark angry look over seeing this.
Kyouya and Mori don't let others see what they are feeling about this.
Hikaru and Kaoru share a look in concern and shock, almost looking like they are silently talking to one another.
Tamaki glares at the water as if it has offended him.
"Guys." Haruhi is about to start when she feels something bump her. She turns to see her wallet. She quickly grabs it only to watch in slight amazement as her stuff is levitated out of the water. She blinks as Tamaki, Mori and Kyouya work on using magic to dry her stuff that they pulled out. She turns slightly when Kaoru offers her his hand. She accepts it and is pulled out where Hunny hugs her. She feels some warmth and suddenly her legs aren't wet from the pond anymore. She checks on her wallet contents after quickly embracing Hunny back. She finds that any of the paper money is ruined leaving only the coins. She will have to deal with getting less food for her and her father. Her face falls at this realization. She will probably have to give up school lunches. She feels the magic rise up a bit at this disappointing realization. She looks to the twins who take a look at the money. She quickly tries to push away the magic by forcing herself to calm down at least a bit.
"Why do you carry that amount with you?" Kaoru inquires looking it over.
"It was supposed to be the money for me and dad's food for the month." Haruhi lets out a breath closing her eyes softly. She silently tells herself to not get upset about it as the magic will surge. "It's fine though. We've gone through worse times." Her eyes open when Hunny takes the ruined money.
Hunny looks it over as if hoping that he can fix it. His eyes get tears when he realizes that he can't. He gazes apologetically at Haruhi when she bends over to pat his head.
"It is alright. We'll survive. You tried." Haruhi assures Hunny. She turns when hearing her name. She spots that it is Hikaru this time.
"Let us get you what you need." Hikaru offers surprising the girl. He looks at the money as if it angers him. "Me and Kaoru know what it is like to be bullied. We used to keep to ourselves before the host club. It isn't pleasant. Even when you pretend to not care what others think of you. I wouldn't wish it on anyone."
"Oh. Well I am sorry that you had to go through that." Haruhi tries to offer a comforting smile. "And you really don't have to. It was nice enough of you guys to help me get my stuff out of this pond."
"No." Tamaki's firm voice gets all of their attention to him. He looks angry and protective. "No one does this and gets away with it." He glances to Kyouya. "Try to find any clues about who did this. We may not have cameras due to demon magic able to mess with it, however there has to be something."
"Leave it to me." Kyouya smirks a little to himself looking quite proud of his skills being trusted for this.
"I am coming too! I want to avenge Haruhi!" Hunny insists and Mori nods as well to agree with the smaller demon.
"Lets go." Kyouya takes to the air with the other two following.
Tamaki looks to Kaoru and Hikaru after calming himself down a little with a few breaths. "Let us all go together and get Haruhi what she needs."
The other two nod in agreement.
Haruhi feels rather cared for which she hasn't felt this strongly for a long time. She felt like she's missed having others help her out ever since her mother died leaving her in charge of the house and helping her father. She barely manages to not shed a tear over it. "Thank you." She has realized as well that they won't take no for an answer. She feels the magic warmly stir up and though the others seem to pick up that her emotions are letting the magic surge in strength they are not as affected by it the same amount as before. She isn't sure why. She just tries to calm herself and Tamaki puts an assuring hand on her shoulder which aids a lot in the calming down so the magic calms.
The demons take a limo to a store and Haruhi expects them to be excited though she notices that any excitement is taken by the knowledge of what happened. Even so the three let Haruhi whatever she wants. They even take the limo to drop her off.
"Thank you so much." Haruhi is about to head out when she finds something is handed to her. She blinks and as she looks at the offered item she realizes that it is a lunch pass for the school cafeteria.
"Yours." Tamaki insists to which Haruhi looks to him in shock as he waits for her to take it from his hand. "The host club is a family. We look out for each other. And I would rather you eat some good food while a part of our family. If you decide to leave the club we can discuss your perks then. For now enjoy it on the school. Free of charge. Not even a deal needed."
Haruhi feels a little awkward about taking it. "But you've done so much for me today." She points out and Hikaru lets out a snort while Tamaki blinks pleadingly at her.
"Just take the card. He will keep insisting until you do." Hikaru smiles a little looking affectionate like he is talking about a beloved family member. "He has his ways of getting things to go how he wants them to go."
Haruhi lets out a silent breath and takes the card. She isn't sure that she'll use it though hopefully her taking it will help Tamaki settle a bit. "Thank you. You guys have made a bad time so much better."
"Don't worry about it!" Tamaki assures her indeed looking happy to have been able to help her out. "When we catch whoever did what they did they will suffer for it."
Haruhi steps away from the limo giving a grateful dip of her head to the demons. "Thanks again." She heads for her place while the demons drive off. She looks to the card once more while standing before the front door. She isn't sure if she should use it or not as Tamaki might notice that shes not using it. She also wouldn't mind some more of that wonderful high end food. She just might feel a little guilty taking this so quickly. She decides to just decide in the moment at lunch instead of worrying about it right now. She heads inside to get dinner ready before her father is expected home. She will take care of him like how he took care of her and her mother when her mother was alive. She knows that he still cares just as much though she feels like he is way too busy supplying enough for her to live an alright life. She thinks that it is the least she could do for all of his hard work. She sets to work getting the supper ready not wanting to think any further on it as it makes her a bit sad to think about times with her mother. She doesn't let herself think about anything except what to do with each part of the supper that she plans to make.
