"If you don't stop staring at me, we will have a problem." Rogue said as Kitty had been persistent in being near her, ever since she found out about her connection to Spider-man she had been unbearable, she was almost considering draining her to the point she had to be sent to the hospital.

"C'mon, just tell me?" Kitty asked cutely.

Rogue let her head hit the desk 'Someone kill me.' she thought to herself.

(with Peter)

Peter listened to Mr McCoy as he did his work, he had been getting odd looks from Kurt his lab partner, he guessed that Kurt either had an idea who he was…or he saw him hanging with Lance before, but he decided not to act suspicious and not do anything to draw attention.

Class ended when the bell rang.

Peter got a message on his phone and saw that his old school was having a game, Gwen had invited him, and they had an awkward time after pretty much…everything that happened, but they tried to keep it as casual as they could.

Harry had for more or less words taken over Oscorp, he had been rather active for lack of a better word as Harry had been taking up Norman's work as best he could…and that worried Peter, as after Norman's goblin reveal, Harry's juicing, and how some villains seemingly came from Oscorp, he was worried what would happen given Harry wanted revenge on Spider-man.

"Yo Parker." an annoying voice said catching his attention and seeing Toad hop to him.

Peter met him when he was hanging with Lance, the guy was a wannabe punk at best 'And he smells worse than Kraven.' he thought as Toad had a particular scent about him "What Toad?" he asked him wondering what he wanted.

"Heard you been hanging with my boy Lance, how about you come on by the Brotherhood crib?" Toad asked him.

"Sorry, I have plans tonight, basketball game." Peter said to him holding up a ticket.

"Alright another time then, another time." Toad said as he left.

"Do you seriously hang out with that guy?" Kurt asked having been nearby when he saw Toad, not liking him since his literal first day.

"Does my nose seem melted off to you?" Peter asked in return "Toad is full of himself I am not hanging out with that." he said having some self respect.

Kurt chuckled at that "Hey do you think you can help me out with this science work?" he asked as Peter was basically the new science kid

"Sure, c'mon we got lunch." Peter said to him as they went outside to eat.

Peter and Kurt found a table and he got to work helping Kurt understand the current lesson.

"Hey, Kurt." Scott said seeing him outside "Peter right?" he asked wanting to be sure.

"Yeah, Scott Summers right?" Peter said holding out his hand which Scott took.

Scott decided to join them "So…I heard you met Duncan Matthews?" he asked wanting to hear if what was said was true.

"If by met you mean I beat him and his buddies into his damn car yeah." Peter said as it was one of the perks of being here, he didn't use his excess strength and when people asked he told them he had been in a few fights and had taken martial arts, and with how he moved people believed it.

Scott actually laughed at that.

(with Lance)

"Yo Avalanche your boy is flirting with the enemy." Toad said from up a tree.

Lance looked in the direction and saw Peter helping Kurt "You idiot he's partners with Kurt in science." he said as he and Peter had similar classes, but he shared most with Kitty "Leave him be, if I learned one thing, he's loyal and not an idiot." he said to him as he was smart enough not to be near Toad.

"Why you friends with a normie anyway?" Toad asked as Lance didn't like people even the others in the Brotherhood.

Lance went quiet as Mystique wanted him to gather information as she did so from behind the scenes, she hadn't told him anything and he hadn't either, Peter was private, but he wasn't lying when he talked about himself "Just leave it Toad." he said to him as while it may have been a mission Peter was alright.

(later that day)

"Ms Darkholme?" Peter asked having been called to the office even though it was the end of the day.

"Ah Mr Parker please sit." Mystique said as Peter sat in front of her "Your teachers are certainly impressed by your knowledge, in the few days of you being here." she said as that was actually true, she asked the teachers Peter had and so far they all thought he was above the class "And I see you've made some decent friends with Mr. Alverz and Mr. Wagner?" she asked as while with Lance that was to be expected, but she took a bit more interest when he and Kurt became friends.

"I let Lance sometimes use my garage his jeep needed maintenance and he seems misunderstood." Peter said as that was the truth Lance was a good guy, but he didn't like being pushed as he pushed back harder, his temper did not help at all "And Kurt…he's a bit of a clown." he said with a small chuckle.

"Care to elaborate?" Mystique asked him, her tone not suggesting a positive or negative mood.

"He's a good guy, but he's kinda a jokester." Peter said as he was not one to talk.

Mystique had to give him that as Kurt did have a carefree attitude and while not a delinquent, he certainly had some bad habits "Well I have been informed you are now friends with Mr. Summers are you trying to apply for the Xavier Institute?" she asked as she had wondered about Scott's sudden interest, Charles was smart, but he did often use the children to reach out to other children.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Peter said to her trying to keep 'Peter's' distance from the X-men and not Spider-man's.

Mystique was a bit glad to hear this "Well with your emancipation maybe you should try for the Brotherhood boarding house?" she asked him.

Peter was silent for a moment "Do you know it well?" he asked her.

"I am good friends with the owner." Mystique said to him with a smile.

"Well I appreciate the offer, but I am fine, I always was kinda a loner." Peter said to her trying to not give her an affirmative response.

"Aren't we all Mr Parker." Mystique said as that was certainly the truth for her "Well if you ever feel the need to talk my door is open, I shall be checking on your progress, you seem to be the brightest in your year." she said to him letting him go.

"That boy is powerful." a dark voice said echoing into the room.

"You see it as well?" Mystique asked as Magneto had a sense for these things better than her own.

"He reminds me of someone long ago." Magneto said to her "Do you know anything past the surface?" he asked her as she pulled out a file.

"There is little, which is surprising, his records are heavily protected." Mystique said as she went through the school system and did her own illegal search, nothing, which was rare.

Magneto did his own research as well, he knew Peter worked for the Bugle and still did, he was accused of being Spider-man, but had beaten the charge 'Perhaps he is.' he thought to himself as he had a feeling, but he needed to confirm.

(later at night)

"So how's Bayville?" Gwen asked as she missed Peter ever since he left, they were going to their seats.

"It's alright, how's Flash and Harry?" Peter asked back as he wondered how those two in particular were doing.

"Well Flash is still…himself and Harry…" Gwen said drifting off "I think he's getting worse somehow." she said to him as ever since his father's death and taking over the company, he seemed to be changing and not for the better, even their relationship was more sour than before.

Peter was now concerned, he wanted to say something but was interrupted as the players started to come out.

(Oscorp)

"You want to make another Spider-man?" Harry asked Miles Warren as he looked him dead in the eye "What are you insane, the one we have gives us enough problems and if you forgot he killed my father." he said taking on Norman's tone of displeasement.

"Yes Mr Osborn I understand your reluctance, but think about it, this Spider-man will be under our control." Warren said pulling up the file labeled 'Project Scorpion' "The project is less biomechanical as the suit will theoretically bond to the wearer's nervous system, making it much more than a suit, the brain will have full control and we'll be giving the wearer a irradiated scorpion venom injection, the venom will do minor alterations allowing the user to more effectively use the suit." he said to him.

Harry read the project "You want to sponsor this person?" he asked as that seemed odd.

"Yes, a hero, a better hero than Spider-man will do this company fine don't you agree?" Warren asked as this project was to mostly discredit Spider-man as Warren was not blind if he followed his villains back to him, like Kraven and Molten Man, well he saw what happened to Green Goblin.

Harry saw the benefits of this "...Can he kill Spider-man?" he asked him curiously.

"Perhaps." Warren said as he wasn't sure if that was the smartest play, but in the end, the rewards were well worth the risk.

(1 hour later)

"Good to see you Peter." Rand Robertson said seeing Peter at the game.

"Same, sorry about your loss Rand." Peter said to him.

"It's fine, we'll get him next time." Rand said ever positive and cheerful "Sad to hear you were gone, how's…Bayville right?" he asked as he heard some stuff from Gwen.

"Yeah, hey can I ask if you've noticed anything odd with Gwen and Harry?" Peter asked Rand as while passive, it didn't mean he wasn't aware or observant.

"Not to diss your friend Peter, I mean I know he lost his dad and all, but he seems to have become toxic." Rand said to him as Harry seemed both distant and worse off, when Peter left he noticed Harry was happy, he knew Peter was a good guy and Harry always felt he was in his shadow, but even when he was gone that didn't change as Harry had seen nothing change for him "Between you and me, I think he's using again." he said still a little bitter at the trophy Harry cost them.

Peter visibly tensed as with how Harry was and what Norman accused him of before, with all the money and Goblin tech Norman had hiding around, Harry could very well be the next Green Goblin "Do you have an idea of what?" he asked him curiously wondering if he had any ideas.

"Not sure, but I have been seeing he's been on social media a lot more lately, I think it might be cocaine and maybe heroin." Rand said as the crowds Harry was now running with were the types from what he heard.

Peter felt a little relieved it wasn't Globuin Green, but the news still didn't make him feel better "Mind keeping an eye on Gwen?" he asked him getting a nod.

"Home girl is a good friend, I got her back, and I'll call you if something goes down." Rand said as Peter and he have always shared numbers as Peter was a good tutor and a friend.

"Thanks." Peter said walking outside to see Gwen on the phone and she just hung up.

"Hey my dad is calling me home, gotta go, it was nice hanging out Peter." Gwen said sounding very sincere and sad that this was over.

"We'll catch up another time." Peter said as he called her a cab.

"Peter?" a surprised and familiar voice said getting his attention to see Scott.

"Hey, Scott you see the game?" Peter asked not expecting him here.

"Yeah, a friend invited me, you?" Scott asked surprised he was here.

"The opposing team is my old school a friend invited me to see another play." Peter said to him.

"Oh um we're going to go celebrate Evan's win want to come?" Scott asked looking at the professor in the distance and getting a nod.

"Sure." Peter said not seeing the problem, as they walked his spider sense went off for a moment but left as quickly as it came, and he coulda swore he saw a blue and silver blur.

(30 minutes later)

"So you're a city kid how is Bayville?" Evan asked as while his dad cooked he took a moment to get to know Peter.

"It's ok, there are a few good skate parks." Peter said getting an appreciative look from Ororo for that comment "Less used than the ones in the city." he said as in a town like Bayville it wasn't as erratic as the city.

"You skate?" Evan asked as he didn't seem the type.

Peter nodded as ever since he got his spider powers, he tried various physical activities, skateboarding among them.

"I got burgers!" Evan's father said to them.

Peter's phone went off at that exact moment and when he saw the caller ID his face soured "I gotta take this thanks for the burger Mr. Daniels." he said as he went outside needing some privacy "What Fury?" he asked him when he knew he was alone.

"Gotta say I'm impressed kid, you haven't been blown yet." Fury said to him "You got lucky Logan isn't there, he'd have recognized you in a heartbeat." he said informing him of Logan's sense of smell.

"That would've been good information from the get go." Peter said in annoyance hearing him chuckle.

"My mistake." Fury said to him before clearing his throat "Listen we got some intel, Harry Osborn is releasing a project tomorrow, and we have reason to believe it's a threat." he said to him.

Peter was afraid of this "Should I be concerned?" he asked as he couldn't go half-cocked with this.

"Very, Miles Warren is involved, he's responsible for that overgrown cat Kraven." Fury said surprising him "Warren manipulates people and does illegal work to see his science progress, it's one of the reasons he works with Ravencroft." he said to him.

"Ravencroft, the mental help facility?" Peter asked him curiously.

"It is less of a mental help facility and more of human experimentation." Fury said as there was a lot of red tape around that place.

"Fury, I know people IN Ravencroft." Peter said a bit more harshly.

"Yeah, Ravencroft are scientists looking for various ways to further research, bio weaponry, and all sorts of other stuff." Fury said as each scientist had their own agenda.

"THIS is what taxpayer dollars go to?" Peter asked hearing Fury chuckle.

"Yep, listen Warren is being watched as best as Shield can, but for you, an outside employee, can keep a better eye and reveal him if push comes to shove." Fury said as that was one of the benefits to freelance employees they had no restrictions.

"Can you tell me what he's done so far?" Peter asked him curiously.

"Created Kraven, Molten Man, private scientist to Oscorp, he's extracted DNA from Electro, and so on." Fury said as while he wasn't able to act he tried to keep up to date on the man he viewed as a threat "Listen, we think Warren has a goal…you." he said to him surprising Peter "Think about it, you're human, or maintain human shape and still get all the benefits of an animal Warren could be trying to accomplish the same thing." he said as that was an even scarier thought than the super soldier serum getting out 'Especially with his numbers.' he thought as he put his best people to analyze Peter's abilities…and in every investigation Peter broke one of Caps own records in each category, strength, speed, stealth, and Peter's own powers gave him his own edge against Cap, the only thing Cap has over Peter now is experience, and even that gap was slowly closing.

Peter felt a little ill hearing that but understood the prospect, he understood Warren was doing all this before he even met him, but it was still a tough pill to swallow, he was about to ask Nick more when his phone filled with static.

"Hello Mr Parker." a man in a fedora and a trench coat said getting Peter's attention "I'd like to have a word with you." he said to him.

Besides the stranger danger alarms going off in his mind, his spider-sense was going off.

(few minutes later)

Peter and the man were at a diner, it put him slightly more at ease.

"I have rarely had the chance to meet your kind Mr Parker." the man said to him "Forgive me, Erik Lehnsherr." he said to him politely introducing himself.

"My kind?" Peter asked him wanting him to expand on that.

"Enhanced." Erik said to him "I was rescued by the first enhanced individual if you can believe it, Captain America himself." he said to him seeing his surprised "While not a mutant, he was VERY much someone who all could respect, I rarely run into your kind, but I see them for what they are…one of us." he said as that was pure truth, enhanced were no different than mutants in his eyes, he even confirmed it genetically as enhanced were closer to mutants without possessing the X-gene.

Peter saw the look in his eye and challenged him "How do you know I'm enhanced?" he asked sick of people knowing who he was.

"You take pictures of Spider-man, Spider-man is seen in Bayville when you recently moved there, and to top it off I have been keeping an eye on his or rather your movements." Erik said to him.

Peter was now very concerned.

"You have nothing to fear from me, I will not reveal your secret." Erik said seeing his surprised face.

"And why is that?" Peter asked him wondering what the benefit to him was.

"Easy, when mutants are revealed, you will side with us." Erik said pulling out a stack of photos.

Peter took them and nearly vomited on the floor.

"Research labs that have experimented on mutants, they try and make my kind into weapons Peter, they violate every right they have, you're a hero that much is clear, but you as a person don't discriminate, you'd help people, human or mutant, and while I have no love for humans, I know you'll protect my kind regardless of differences." Erik said to him simply as he had seen it before, this young man before him was almost the spitting image of Steve Rodgers, Captain America himself.

Peter was silent for a moment "You're Magneto aren't you." he said not bothering to ask.

Erik chuckled "I see I'm not the only one who is well informed." he said as he was surprised Peter knew that, even more impressed.

Peter resisted the urge to try and fight him as this city was full of metal, if he tried to fight Magneto he'd lose.

'We can fight, but not on that scale.' Venom said to Peter mentally as Magneto was in a higher league than any villain Peter fought.

Peter just glanced at him "Why did you meet me, now of all times?" he asked as Magneto could have picked any time when he was at Bayville or on his way here, he chose NOW.

"I like you, you are not so easily fooled." Erik said to him "A mutant has been terrorizing Mr Evan's school and he planned to confront them, I wish to allow this to happen." he said to him simply.

"You're testing the waters, you're trying to push him and this mutant." Peter said in realization "You're trying to get them to reveal themselves." he said as Erik smiled.

"Yes and no." Erik said seeing Peter glare at him "My kind needs champions, Mr. Parker, the day of mutants being revealed is closing in fast." he said as he knew it and he could see Peter did as well "Think about it, the day is close at hand when people discover they have the ability for power and others discover they don't, there will be a divide, people fear what they can't understand and are jealous of what they don't have." he said to him.

Peter was silent as he knew what Magneto was talking about, if people knew what he could do, they'd fear him as who could stop a person that could lift a literal ton easily.

"Charles while brilliant is misguided, he thinks that peace is the only answer, but let's be honest people have been violent for a long time." Erik said to him as he had been on the receiving end for many years "What do you think will happen?" he asked as he knew Peter was smart, but also a bleeding heart, he wondered what his opinion was on the topic.

"I think, the first appearance is everything, you come off as hostile and people will treat you as such, come off and reveal yourself you have more control of the panic, but you can't control people, mutant or otherwise." Peter said as his villains were prime examples most didn't have powers.

Magneto was well aware of his less-than-spectacular enemies, they were either brutes or very much insane, he was impressed by Peter especially when he overcame the odds such as the Sinister Six, it spoke much about his strength, something he respected "Do you know when mutants are revealed, the X-gene is more likely to become active?" he asked him.

"Because stress is a likely way to activate the dormant gene." Peter said as if people knew about mutants it would likely cause an incredible spike in the mutant population.

Magneto smiled, this is what he liked to see, intelligence, strength, character, and not the same stupidity he had seen with many others.

(with Destiny)

Destiny sighed in exhaustion as even with her 'assistance' in making a certain event assured the future was still changing 'Magneto.' she thought as while his futures were often predictable they could be changed by outside forces, Charles and Magneto had extremely even odds in beating the other so it was basically chance at this point, with Scorpion she knew what could happen, but she needed clearer sight for Peter, Rogue's future was changed already, she had seen her fire at Blob, in none of her futures had she displayed such an ability, it made her stronger yes, but it could also make her more of a target.

(few minutes later)

Peter walked out of the diner with Erik.

"Why do I get the feeling, this won't be our last meeting." Peter said to Erik who chuckled.

"It won't, you are too valuable a player in this eventual war." Magneto said to him with a smile "I have one final question for you, after everything you have suffered, the pain, the sacrifice, why do you keep continuing on this crusade?" he asked as that was the burning question he had been dying to ask as with Charles, he was an open book, the man saw the good in others, but tried to see past all the pain when he especially knew that not everyone could or wouldn't act on those who wronged them, he wanted to know what drives Peter Parker to be the self-sacrificing man he was, he wanted to know the reason he kept going.

"I assume you know more about me than just Spider-man." Peter said as this man seemed to have done his homework "When my Uncle died, he had a motto, 'With great power comes great responsibility' he died because of a man who robbed a guy who stiffed me, I chose to let him go and as a result my Uncle died, if I stopped him, my Uncle would still be alive, I am just as responsible for his death as the man that shot him." he said to him.

Magneto was silent as he saw a ghost standing in Peter's place, he was reminded of his wife 'Magda' Peter had the same fire and spirit she did, he rarely saw that in people, it was nice to know some still had it, but he left after that.

Peter soon took out his phone seeing he had bars again, he informed Fury to let him know what happened.

(next day)

"It is impressive, you have an enemy that respects you." Fury said as that was a rarity "This might be a good thing." he said to him as Peter looked at him skeptically "Magneto sees you as a valuable player, which in reality you are, you are in a position where he'll try to use you, which we know he will, but he's using you since you're involved already, he's taking advantage of your nature." he said as that was impressive Peter was in no danger, but Magneto was pushing Peter into actions he would've done, but those actions were why he had Peter here in the first place.

"You seem less worried?" Peter asked him.

"Kid let me be honest, Magneto is guessed to be able to lift New York from its very foundation, all the metal all the pipes all that crap, he can do it, he can break apart the Eiffel Tower, he could make the Statue of liberty move itself, he is poking and prodding a secret that has been somehow kept for decades, he wants a revolution to change the world in his egotistical idea of paradise where mutants and even people like you are atop the food chain." Fury said in detail explaining Magneto.

"You're not worried about Magneto, you're worried about how the situation will be handled and by whom." Peter said in realization.

"You're learning, we have always known or rather predicted when Charles and Erik got onto our radars they'd be prime candidates for controlling this mutant debacle when it gets out." Fury said as it was true "It was mostly good guys and bad guys scenario, we thought Charles could help ease the peoples worries and placate them while with Magneto, the more…criminal mutants would flock to him, time would go on Shield would make it's move capture them and detain them." he said as that was the best case scenario.

Peter wondered how his life got to this point and he wondered how his parents dealt with it "Listen I gotta be at school in 20 minutes are we done?" he asked him curiously getting a nod.

Fury watched him leave, and he was impressed how well he was handling himself and his situation, Peter was effectively right in the middle, with allies on both sides, and he was well on his way to being able to stop potential disasters with mutants 'If he wanted to, he could be a full agent.' he thought as Peter's powers and skills and his intelligence made him in the same league as Natasha Romanoff.

(Bayville High)

Peter was having a tiring day, he was on edge for what Harry was doing today as he was worried about what would happen.

Peter didn't have to wait long as Jonah published an article himself about the new Oscorp and Bugle-funded hero known as 'Scorpion'.

(NYPD)

George Stacy was in his office sipping coffee till Jonah barged inside.

"Stacy!" Jonah said walking inside the office "That wall crawlers time is up, New York's newest superhero, the bigger and better spider, Scorpion, I want to issue a hunt for that menace." he said to him slamming his fist down on his desk.

"Jonah, three things, A. I don't work for you at all, B. You can't issue a manhunt, without any legitimate crimes on the person you're accusing also a judge needs to sign off, and C. Spider-man wasn't responsible for what happened to your son, blaming him is a bad idea because so far every time you have, you've been burned and humiliated." he said as the monster that attacked Spider-man at Midtown was the true cause, he even got footage near the area and showed it to Jonah.

Jonah growled and gritted his teeth "He's a vigilante." he said to him as if that was cause enough.

"He's protected now." George said to him seeing the shock on Jonah's face "Shield." he said as he knew Jonah knew of them "Spider-man has been deemed an asset to the public and decreases damages for Damage Control to handle, so until he commits an actual crime, with actual evidence against him, you can not make a move." he said as he was surprised when shield came here, but all the same it offered some comfort knowing his men would have actual superhero back up.

Jonah stormed out after that.

George knew Jonah would do something rash, it was basically his go-to move, he had been given verbal warnings after that debacle at the prison.

(Bugle)

Jonah was walking up and down his office 'Fury.' he thought in annoyance knowing full well that if he so much as messed with Shield, it would cause him a myriad of problems, as Shield was America's and the world's greatest defense bringing them up in the media was considered a crime, but people in high positions knew about them.

'Who the hell is the wall-crawler?' Jonah thought as Shield hired the best of the best, they rarely stuck their neck out for anyone who wasn't an asset, Spider-man was a vigilante, so why help him.

Jonah was brought out of his thoughts as he got a phone call.

"Jonah, Harry Osborn, Spider-man has been sighted, we're sending in Mac Gargan." Harry said over the line.

This was the moment Jonah had been waiting for, the moment when Spider-man was going to be put in his place behind bars.

(with Peter)

"Thanks for pulling me out of school, I needed to be close by when this whole thing went down." Peter said to Fury through the mask comm.

"Believe me when I say, people have stagged things that have gone horribly wrong, and considering this is Norman Osborn's son, I felt this could be way worse." Fury said as he had some units do a psych evaluation on Harry, he possessed all of Norman's bad habits, along with suffering from neglect, had a profound amount of arrogance and self-worth having the billionaire's lax attitude which would've made Tony Stark seem tame, risk taker, and a manipulator as his team saw him with Gwen Stacy, emotional manipulation and teenage hormones were a bad combo.

Spider-man didn't get a chance to say anything as something hit his web line an it began to melt, he shot another and pulled himself to a nearby building "Let me guess Scorpion?" he asked seeing a man in a green suit.

"Kid that thing is dangerous, I don't know what they did, but his body is leaking radiation." Fury said looking through Spider-man's lenses as he had him patch him through to his systems for something like this.

Spider-man didn't have time to respond as he dodged the tail, he saw it was leaking and saw that it hit the very ground melting it "Acid are you kidding?" he asked before dodging another shot and seeing it melt another part of the building and in rapid succession, Scorpion tackled him both falling to the street.

(with Destiny)

Destiny sighed as her foresight was a little more clear at the moment as with Spider-man's current futures there were limited events.

"You know this is what I hate about other seers, they think changing their futures and the futures of those they love to their benefit is the best thing." Madam Web said as she looked at Destiny "Let me ask you Destiny, are you prepared to live with the consequences?" she asked her.

Destiny knew what she meant as in doing this she made the world much more dangerous as Scorpion was going to become wild and erratic, he would become a mass murderer in almost every timeline.

"And in some of those futures, he harms Rogue." Madam Web said as it was a bit of dark irony whenever a person was a cause for their own suffering "And IF he does harm her, it'll be entirely your fault." she said as Mac Gargan's future was undetermined before Destiny made that phone call, if she left well enough alone less people would be harmed "You have seen what Mystique has and will choose to do, how do you think Rogue will react." she said to her disappearing.

Destiny clenched her walking stick angrily at the woman's taunts and jabbed at her decision

(Bayville)

"You are just attached to that thing, what the hell are you watching?" Scott asked Kitty curiously.

"Spider-man, he's fighting that new 'hero' Oscorp unleashed, and now he's going on a rampage shooting acid at Spider-man." Kitty said showing him what was going on.

Scott saw what was happening and winced as the damage was piling up.

Lance saw Kitty watching a live news feed and decided to do the same.

"Yo bro whatcha watching?" Toad asked him.

"Live fight look at the news." Lance said to him as this was interesting.

"Please two guys in spandex, I could take them." Fred said confidently.

Lance was very doubtful of that as Fred lost to Spider-man from what he heard and the other guy was shooting acid that was melting concrete.

'Can your mass survive contact?' Peter asked Venom mentally.

'Before I would've said hell no, but with all the changes Warren did to me and my biomass being altered, along with fully bonding to your DNA I wanna say…maybe?' Venom said unsure as his tendrils and symbiotic mass were thicker than before.

Peter had a moment and shot white tendrils at Scropion sending him crashing into a wall 'How was that?' he asked Venom as Scorpion had covered himself in acid to prevent his webs stuck to him.

'Stings.' Venom said as he was able to regenerate faster than the burns took hold, didn't mean it was pleasant.

Peter took that into consideration and decided to use the symbiote as blunt attacks.

Fury sighed as Jonah was a pain in the ass, he met the man when he put a shield op in danger as he kept digging and harassing assets, he was someone who he had to deal with personally as the man was a conspiracy nut "Hill." he said calling in what was basically his secretary.

Maria Hill soon entered.

"Bring J. Jonah Jameson to me." Nick said as Maria left that second not asking any questions.

Fury was actually curious as to how this fight would go as Peter was essentially in a battle of a superior species, biomechanical implants, and he had an extra appendage that was both a blunt and piercing weapon as the tail had a stinger and could poison as well.

Fury had seen Peter use what he could only guess was bio mass, he assumed it was the alien known as Venom, but the material was a different color and acted in a different way than Peter had used before.

Spider-man had immobilized Scorpion, and the police, SWAT, and other organizations had come and had guns aimed at Scorpion.

(1 hour later)

"I knew you were an idiot Jonah, but this takes the cake." Fury said as he dropped a file in front of him "Let me save you a read, 12 buildings, 3 fires, a hydrant, 47 cars, 6 streets, and 32 people were injured, the cost in damages alone was more than Spider-man caused in his whole career that you could even tie him to." he said as Spider-man was relatively clean "The Sinister Six did less damage in the days they were active than this." he said to him as the Sinister Six destroyed Broadway.

"Spider-man is a menace to society!" Jonah said getting in Fury's face, the man not even moving.

"Really, then we'll have NYPD run a story, about you, Osborn, and Warren, you unleashed an untested project on NY without proper testing, you all skipped regulations going to human trials, that is a CRIME, you're committing crimes thinking you can out do Spider-man when in reality you cause more destruction than anyone else, your son and now Scorpion." Fury said bringing up Venom's attack on Jonah Jr "Spider-man is now a Shield asset, anymore unprovoked attacks Jonah and I will have your paper shut down." he said as Jonah knew he could do it full well.

Jonah glared at him, his head having a very noticeable and pulsing vein "Who is he." he said quietly.

"That's classified." Fury said to him "Let me be frank Jonah, you hate not knowing, you hate it when people stand up to you because you are a dick, and you want some way to make a profit while also boosting your own image, it may have got personal with your son, but Spider-man wasn't responsible, you're just venting because deep down, you know it's your fault and the ironic thing is, without Spider-man your paper would just be a flop." he said as the Bugle was just a gossip column for all things Spider-man, Peter unknowingly saved it when he worked for Jonah.

Jonah was seething as he left the room.

Peter was exhausted as that fight was a bit tough and his body ached all over, he made a call to Fury and learned that Scorpion was literally stuck inside that suit as it melded to his nervous system similar to Doc Ock and his arms, he checked and saw Harry, Warren, and Jonah had taken the brunt of Scorpion's rampage being accused of improper practices, inhumane testing, negligence to who Mac Gargan was BEFORE putting on the suit.

Harry was not having a pleasant day as the Scorpion project was shut down as after what happened today he had many issues having to pay a few million in property damages "He has more powers." he said as when they sent Scorpion out Warren had made a profile based on Spider-man's strength, even if their attributes were equal Scorpion had the upper hand, but with these new powers they threw those numbers out the window.

Harry needed a way to get rid of Spider-man, permanently, but nothing seemed to work, he went through his father's files needing to find something.

Peter was glad he healed even faster with Venom's assistance, he made it to school running into Scott.

"Hey Peter, sorry about the other day, stuff came up." Scott said not seeing Peter yesterday as he wanted to apologize for the day before.

"It's fine Scott." Peter said seeing Evan "Hey need help finding your classes?" he asked him curiously.

"Oh sure man thanks." Evan said gratefully.

They were interrupted when a familiar green jeep pulled up.

'Oh, crap.' Peter and Venom thought.

"Yo Parker, what you ain't gonna holla at your boys!" Toad said jumping out of the truck.

"They friends of yours?" Evan asked not liking their vibe.

"I'm friends with the driver." Peter said to him "Hey Lance." he said getting a short nod "Toad, for the love of everything please go shower." he said as he got some laughs.

"Hey, why you gotta dis me bro." Toad said as he whined.

"There are flies over there." Peter said as he was gone in an instant "Listen I gotta go show Evan around catch up later." he said to Lance as he and Evan left.

"What Summers can't get your own friends gotta try and steal mine?" Lance 'asked' Scott.

"Oh please, I have no idea why Peter hangs out with you Alverz, you're a thug plain and simple." Scott said to him as they got in each others faces.

They were interrupted when Duncan arrived with Jean in tow.

"Wasn't your car trashed?" Lance asked as he thought Peter destroyed a good chunk of it.

"I don't know isn't your jeep just trash." Duncan said to Lance.

While Scott had no love for Lance, he disliked Duncan a great deal more "This is a private conversation, Matthews." he said wishing he could blast Duncan to smithereens.

Jean saw the men were just about to have a pissing contest "Duncan, c'mon, we're gonna be late." she said to him forcibly dragging him away.

"Well, that sucked." Fred said as he kinda wanted to see a fight.

"Listen Summers I REALLY don't like you." Lance said to Scott making that point very clear "But I've heard some things about the pretty boy I really don't like." he said to him as Duncan had been a member of the football team since he was a sophomore, but he heard things about people when they crossed him "Keep an eye on Peter, someone once scratched that guys car and the next day the guy had a broken arm." he said as Peter trashed his car, he didn't even wanna think what Duncan would pull.

Scott nodded and before he could move the ground shook and he fell.

"Don't get in my face again." Lance said to him as he and Blob walked away.

'Just when I think he's a decent person.' Scott thought picking himself up.

Peter was a bit bored as AP English literature, was a bit boring, he saw Rogue was in his class and he saw Scott as this class was meant for seniors.

Peter listened as best he could, but he wasn't very interested.

'Can we PLEASE, KILL HER!?' Venom asked Peter as Rogue's powers were giving off certain 'fluctuations' and they were truly pissing him off.

Peter was curious as to why this was happening, when he first met Rogue it was a calm and constant that rose upon getting closer, but now it slowly rose and lowered with each passing second.

Rogue and Peter were often paired given they were the same age, Spider-man had a better relationship with Rogue than Peter as they were neutral at best.

"What are you drawing?" Rogue asked as she saw Peter writing down numbers and formulas.

Peter was drawing a newer model of his web shooters as while Venom saved him money on webs, this would allow him to use taser webs and other webs combos.

"Just some mechanics, I like to think and use my hands." Peter said as that was pure honesty.

Rogue could understand that "Gotta love what you do." she said to him "I like to write." she said to him.

"Yeah, that matching green book you have." Peter said seeing her write in it constantly "So what art journal or regular journal?" he asked her.

"Mix of both." Rogue said as she liked to write her thoughts in this book and other things that came to mind "So are you really some kinda genius?" she asked as while also a new kid there was a lot said about Peter, most of it was he had a high IQ.

They were interrupted hearing the bell ring.

"To be continued." Peter said to her with a small smile.

Mystique was smiling as Duncan Matthews while an arrogant pain in the ass, was a rather useful pawn, she was encouraging Lance as he was sticking to Peter's side given many 'rumors' about Duncan 'I swear small town jock stereotype.' she thought as Duncan was a cliche pure and simple, she actually kept a file in the event he crossed any major lines if his sight ever went to her Brotherhood or Kurt 'For a telepath, she's an idiot.' she thought as Jean was really lowering the standards for mutants and women being with that idiot.

Mystique was a little disturbed having dug up Duncan's previous actions, assault was the basic thing, but it had been on repeat constantly, Toad was victim to him and his gang on the football team many times over, but what wasn't known to her before was that Duncan was rather hostile to defeat against other schools, she looked into it and found out many teams that had beaten Bayville the players of the opposing team had suffered some form of attack, either property damage or assault to their person.

'Perhaps Peter will be pushed to the Brotherhood.' Mystique thought to herself thinking if Duncan attacked him and her Brotherhood went to his rescue he'd be more open to joining.

"You know we can take these idiots right?" Lance asked giving Peter a ride as he stopped by his place this morning having seen something the other day, Duncan and his group of idiots had been tailing Peter.

"And you saw what I did to them the first time." Peter said knowing Duncan was way worse than Flash could have ever been, Duncan was a thug end of story.

Lance chuckled remembering that, he dropped Peter off at home and went around the corner "Hey Rogue you busy?" he asked her curiously as out of the others Rogue was probably the most useful and her powers made it so these idiots would barely remember anything.

(1 hour later)

"So why'd you agree?" Lance asked Rogue curiously.

"Peter's a nice guy, plus Duncan is an ass." Rogue said as she bumped into him the other day and he got 'fresh' with her for lack of a better word, thinking just because she was new and how she dressed, meant she had no self-respect.

Lance supposed that was as good a reason as any, they soon saw a few cars appear.

Unknown to everyone present, Mystique was currently a raven watching this scene unfold from a powerline, she heard Lance's phone call to Rogue and was intrigued about how this would go down 'This will be interesting.' she thought as Duncan brought the whole football team, it be interesting how Peter would react to this amount of numbers.

"Why do you have a camera?" Lance asked Rogue seeing her place it on a wall "We have to hide our powers from going public remember." he said as Mystique made it clear, 'Mutant and Proud' but also never to go public or attract attention.

"We can make it so certain things are edited, plus imagine, we won't have to see his ass ever again." Rogue said to him seeing the gears turning in Lance's head.

Peter had been waiting outside his house seeing Duncan approach "Kinda expected this, so what MVP can't take what you dish out and have to have your little buddies come help you?" he asked hitting Duncan in his pride.

"We're just here to give you a nice warm welcome." Duncan said having a crowbar in his hands, his friends having bats and clubs.

"I'll give you one chance to walk away before this gets ugly." Peter said seeing Duncan take a swing with his crowbar, he ducked and jabbed him with his elbow, grabbing the weapon and tossing it aside.

Three guys ran at Peter with bats, Peter dodged and was lucky two struck each other allowing him to strike the one who wasn't stealing his bat, and hit all three of them with it collecting their bats he tossed them aside.

"Somebody get him!" Duncan said picking himself up.

Lance and Rogue were watching with gusto.

"Please tell me you're seeing this?" Lance asked Rogue quietly not wanting to be too loud.

"Yep." Rogue said to him loving that they were getting this all on camera.

Mystique was impressed by how fluid Peter was as the football team attacked him, it was honestly extremely impressive.

Duncan was furious that somehow this nobody was able to handle him and his team like they were nothing, he hated him for how they barely registered to him, but he more than kept up and was seemingly bored, it bothered him to no end.

(20 minutes later)

The police had arrived seeing 11 teenagers bloody and bruised smashed against cars parked outside a house.

Rogue and Lance took off seeing the cops arrive.

Mystique stayed wondering if these idiots would arrest Peter as in her experience the police were morons.

(1 hour later)

"Phil Coulson FBI, Mr Parker is free to go." Phil said coming inside the police station "Why is he on the women's side?" he asked seeing Peter in a cell with women and the football team occupying the other cell.

"Those kids attacked him, we didn't have much choice." an officer said to him.

"Mr Parker will be pressing charges, we have home security to back up the trespassing, assault, domestic violence, and gang charges, these children will be tried as adults and any damage Mr Parker committed against them was all under self-defense." Phil said giving Peter a look saying not to say anything.

"I agree, Mr Coulson was it." Raven said appearing next to him as if out of nowhere "Here is a file on Mr Matthews, other activities." she said to him.

"Hey, you can't throw me under the bus like this!" Duncan said to her angrily.

"Oh I can, you see dear boy, when you commit a felony I can report it to the police and that file is nothing but felonies and has nothing to do with your school work or school life, if it happens on school grounds I can report it." Mystique said as children had less rights than they thought in school and not everything they did was protected.

Duncan shut his mouth thinking he needed a lawyer.

"Thank you, Ms Darkholme, if it is not too much trouble I'd like a copy of this." Phil said to her, and then the police officer flashing his badge again letting them know he outranked them.

"No problem at all, are you doing alright Peter, no new tattoos?" Raven asked jokingly as all the women Peter shared a cell with waved him goodbye "I hope you weren't too popular?" she asked with an amused smile

"Sir we have a willy one." an officer said as he and another officer brought in an albino teenager.

Raven's eyes widened in surprise seeing this particular person, she chuckled to herself knowing what would happen next.

(few minutes later)

"Are you really suing them?" Peter asked not really seeing the point as they made it to his car.

"Kid I respect your methods, but not defending yourself is sometimes worse than avoiding conflict altogether, you need to respect yourself as much as you do other people." Coulson said as he respected Spider-man, he had the potential to be as great as Captain America in his opinion, but the general lack of self-respect Peter had for himself would've been admirable if he didn't hold himself at such a low standard "Plus these kids have done this before, assault can easily become murder if you don't nip it in the bud soon." he said to him showing him the files on each player.

Peter saw the files were well-detailed.

"Letting people get away with the things they do to you is basically saying it's ok for them to do it to someone else, if we don't do this, they'll walk away and do it to you again or to someone else." Coulson said to him seeing the gears turn in his head "People sometimes need punishment in order to learn their actions have consequences, some more severe than others." he said to him.

Peter sighed but nodded in understanding.

(next day)

"Waiting for me?" Peter asked having arrived at school seeing Rogue standing at the door.

"Wanted to see how Bayville's newest celebrity is doing." Rogue said seeing she caught his attention "Word is out about Duncan and video is online." she said as Toad stole the camera and uploaded it wanting some payback on Duncan, she had to give him some credit for originality as 'Bayville Jock Beatdown' was rather on point.

Peter sighed walking in and the moment he did everyone was cheering at him "How many people hated those guys?" he asked curiously.

"Peter you fought them, what do you think?" Rogue asked as Duncan wasn't the only asshole on the team.

Peter conceded to that.

"Yo, big man crossing all bow down to the champ!" Toad said from above the lockers "Check it out Bayville high champion over here!" he said with a grin.

"How long is this gonna last?" Peter asked him.

"Well today is Thursday, so probably till the end of time." Lance said to him leaning against the lockers "Saw what you did man nice job." he said fist bumping with Peter.

"It was real funny how you beat them up." Fred said as Toad had the video on repeat and it was just as funny as the previous time.

"Yo, you should join the Brotherhood." Toad said seriously as Peter was a chill guy, he made jokes and he had less of an attitude than the other guys and while he made the same complaints as them, he was still a nice guy.

"Not a club guy sorry." Peter said to him.

(3 hours later)

"Hey Peter wanna grab lunch with us?" Scott asked as Peter was seriously his personal hero as Duncan was suspended which meant stress-free days, he saw Jean not look as excited as she like everyone, saw the videos, she knew Duncan was the ass who attacked Peter, it was just a hard pill to swallow given how he was around Jean.

"Dude you are the man, Duncan is gone for 2 weeks." Kurt said happily having heard the entire football team was on suspension.

"Man, you gotta show me how you fought all those guys it was awesome!" Evan said to him as when he saw Peter take on all those guys it was inspiring how he moved and sent them to the ground.

Peter was beyond glad that he actually had many reasons for his skills as Fury had told him his mother was a black belt in many martial arts, something he never knew, but Fury gave him some fake documents that he had the same black belts as his mother, though many false fronts Shield had "I just know how to fight." he said as Coulson was right, letting those idiots mess with him would've been worse than not handling them.

Lance was really starting to not like their newest member, Pietro Maximoff, while the guy was better than others, he ran his mouth and could not keep silent.

"So who's your boyfriend?" Pietro asked Lance tauntingly as Toad and Blob filled him in on Lance's outsider friend "He a mutant or what?" he asked as the other two didn't seem to know for sure.

"Mystique seems to think so and she's taken an interest in him." Lance said knowing Pietro would back off as he did fear Mystique.

Pietro was more curious than afraid, he saw Peter throwing away his scraps from lunch and made a dash at him.

Peter's spider-sense went off and he raised his right hand stopping Pietro "Careful speedy." he said seeing Pietro's surprise and his joke made him know he knew.

"Whoa did you see that." Scott said as he saw Pietro running straight at Peter and he stopped him cold.

"Is he like us?" Evan asked Scott curiously not having known everyone too long.

Scott was silent as it explained why Lance was trying to be buddy-buddy with Peter, the Brotherhood was trying to recruit him.

Madam Web sighed in frustration, she rarely got involved not accounting for the occasional multiverse crisis, but with Destiny constantly trying to alter the future, she needed to make a move of her own, to change and balance things, and she knew two people in desperate need of help right now.
