This chapter is a little longer. I need some help coming up with some outings for the three of them. Amusement Park, or is she too young? Picnic? How long before Logan and Rory go from dating to sleeping together. When should he start staying over when Tori is home? Give me some ideas. I plan on finishing the conversation about why Lorelai didn't like the book, later. Come on readers, let me know what you think. Have I convinced you at the time they thought they were doing the right thing? How much guilt should be involved in realizing how much Logan has missed? For him and her. Review.

Chapter 11

Rory left the office in plenty of time to meet Lorelai and Tori at Luke's for lunch. When she walked in the door, they were not there yet.

"Rory," Luke said. "Your mother is running late." He was shaking his head.

"Tell me something new." she told him. She took a seat at a table in the back. It wasn't long before she heard the bell and Tori came scurrying through the door. She was trying to get her coat and scarf off. Lorelai was just coming around the corner. She was hurrying and almost fell. Luke and Rory both witnessed it.

Tori already made it to Rory by the time Lorelai got in the diner. "Lorelia," Luke said. "You are going to be the death of me, or you, not which one will come first." He was helping her with her coat, picking Tori's coat off the bar stool she put it on when she ran to her mom.

"We went to Lele's work. I help Sooki make cookies with icing." She told her mother. Rory was smiling. She loved hearing the excitement in her voice. "Then we feeded Cletus some carrots, and I gots to jump off the hay. Momma, have you seen the hay to Lele's work? Cletus is a horse."

Lorelai finally made it to the table. "Did you tell Mom about feeding Cletus?" She asked.

"And jumping off the hay." Rory said. They both continued to tell about the adventure of spending time in Stars Hollow. Rory and Tori spent the rest of the day visiting with friends before leaving to go home.

Paris and Rory took Tori and Gabriel to the movies. Gabriel was a few years older than Tori, she was a pre-teen, but she still enjoyed spending time with Tori. They went for Ice cream and coffee afterwards.

Gabriel took Tori to play on the inside playground, while Rory and Paris watched and talked.

"So, you said he is moving back" Paris said after giving Gabreil some change for the carousel.

"Moved." She told her. "He has already moved back. Finn said he started the move over a year ago."

"And he didn't tell you?" Paris asked. Rory shook her head. "I guess we know where his loyalty lies"

"It's not like that. I don't think Finn thought he would try to see her, or maybe he did. Sometimes Finn can be such a romantic." Rory said, then her eyes got wide

"Romantic?" Paris said a little louder than she planned. "What has romance got to do with him seeing his daughter?" Paris was a little quieter.

"Well," Rory started, but stopped. Paris was still looking at her. "He kinda wants us to start dating." Rory was looking out toward the playground. Watching Tori and Gabriel.

"He wants to date you?" Paris asked.

"Yes," Rory said, turning back to look at Paris. "Is that so unrealistic to you?"

"Hey," Paris said, holding up her hands. "Just trying to figure out if you are really buying into this dating him."

"I don't know," Rory told her.

"What has changed?" she asked. "When you were pregnant, he had his chance." Paris had always thought Rory and Logan should have been together. She understood why things are the way they are, but she always thought they could have worked it out if they both wanted it bad enough.

Rory then explained to her what Logan told her. She told her about Odette, she told her about Mithcum passing, things have changed. Paris listened. Asking a question here and there.

"Well Gilmore." Paris said when she was finished. "Be very careful. I don't want you or Tori to get hurt."

"Me either" Rory said.

Finn called Monday night. He usually picks Tori up Thursday's a gymnastics. They usually went for a burger. This will be the first time this year Finn has picked her up. This is the first time their schedules allow.

Finn wanted to make sure Rory was okay with Logan coming along. They agreed Finn and Logan would pick her up and meet Rory at the inside playground on Joseph Ave, next to the big mall. They could all have a burger together with Tori.

It was Wednesday morning before she spoke to Logan. They have been texting back and forth, mostly about Tori and her schedule.

"Hello," Rory said, answering the phone.

"Hey Ace," Logan said. "Just checking in."

"Okay." She told him.

"I am on my way to return my rental car and pick up the one I ordered." He told her.

"Okay," She told him. Why was he telling her?

"I was wondering if you could pick me up at the rental place at the airport and take me to the BMW place on West Park Road?" He asked. "My car is ready. I thought we could go get coffee in between you picking me up and me picking up my car."

"Oh," She said. "You thought" She was smiling but was trying not to let him know. "You just thought I would be free and willing to run errands for you, then you would treat me to a coffee?"

"No, No," He said he was panicking. "That is not what I meant. Oh boy, Let me start over ... .Ace, would you do the honor, oh no, that is not what i mean. Will you honor me in letting me buy you a cup of coffee? If so, could you pick me up at the airport rental place? I need to return my rental." By this time they were both laughing.

"Logan, when do you need to be picked up?" she asked.

"In 30 minutes?" he said.

She was still laughing. "Yes, I will pick you up, but I want something besides airport coffee."

"Deal," He said.

She pulled up to the airport rental in Hartford. She didn't have to wait long before Logan opened the passage door and jumped in.

"Where too?" She asked.

"You are the coffee expert. Where can we get the best coffee in Hartford?" He asked.

"Well, the Starbucks on Asylum Street is good…but the best in the Starbuck near campus." She said,

"Well, let's go." He told her.

She pulled out onto the road. Neither were talking, but were trying to think of something to say.

"This isn't going to work if we don't talk." Rory told him, her eyes never leaving the road.

"Okay," He said, "Tell me what you have been up to for the last five years, besides raising our daughter."

"Well, I took some classes at the University of Hartford." She told him. "Almost finished my Masters, I have a few more credits and I will be finished. "

"Wow, good for you." He told her.

"I had a full time nanny after Tori was born. Emily insisted on hiring one." She said, sighing. "I was able to attend classes most of the time. I took a few online classes. I wrote my book, Lorelia wasn't happy, didn't publish it" He nodded.

"Why wasn't she happy?" He asked as they pulled into the Starbucks.

They parked and got out. They were standing in line to order. "I'll explain it later." She told him.

They took a seat in the back corner away from anyone else with their coffees and danishes.

"Tell me what you have been up to in the last five years. I have not googled you.: She told him.

"Well," He started. I opened up about 6 more offices across the United States and Europe. I brought HPG to the digital age. We own 2 television stations. WTXR out of Atlanta and Cstar in France."

"Wow," She said, nodding her head. "You have been busy."

"Yeah," He told her. "That is a combination of not having someone I wanted to come home to, Mitchum passing, giving me the freedom to expand, and trying to prove that I am worthy of you."

"Logan," She said. "Why would you think you are not worthy"

He put his head down. When he looked up, he looked into her eyes. "You continue with what you have been up to."

She sighed. She will have to get him to tell her about it later. "Well, with Dad's help, I was able to purchase Peaches and Cream Publishing. Have you heard of it?"

"I am sure I have seen it on the Nasdaq," He told her.

She laughed "Probably not, the company is so small it would have been way at the bottom." She took a sip of her coffee. "I purchased it after my second book."

"So you did publish your book?" He asked, he was confused.

"No," She said with a sly smile. "I am working on my fifth book in a series of children's books. 'Lee's Lessons Learned'.

"A children's book series," He said. "Tell me about them."

She looked at her watch. "We need to be headed to pick up your car. I have a meeting uptown in an hour." She started standing up to throw away her trash. He followed.

When they got in the car, he asked again. "Tell me about your books. You know I am going to look them up as soon as possible." He had already started scrolling on his phone.

"The books are about a squirrel named Lee. He lives on a farm and gets into all kinds of trouble with his friends, Collie the border collie and Fan the peacock." She was driving and wouldn't look at him.

He started laughing. He pulled up one of the books. 'Lee's Lessons Learned: The adventure of Lee and his friends: The Cows In the Barn'

"Ace, tell me this is based on me, Colin and Finn" he said in between laughing and trying to catch his breath.

"I guess you will have to download it and see." She told him, never letting her eyes leave the road, but the smile on her face told him everything.
