Chapter 19

Monday morning Rory and Tori were both up getting ready for school. Sara had breakfast ready when they came down. Tori made it down before Rory. When Rory came down the stairs she could hear Tori and Sara.

"Peanut butter and jelly," she can hear Tori giving Sara her lunch order.

"Will you eat cucumber slices if I put them in your lunch?" Sara asked. She must have nodded her head because Sara said "Okay, grapes and or orange slices?"

"Can I have blueberries?" Tori asked.

"I think I have some. I will put them in with your lunch." She told her.

Rory walked in, "Tori will drink milk today, white milk, not chocolate."

Sara nodded. "I'll put money in the zipper of your lunch bag." Rory nodded.

She sat down to eat her breakfast. It wasn't long before Tori took her plate in the kitchen before going to brush her teeth.

Sara came back out with her lunch bag. "Rory, do you want to go over this week's schedule now or when you get back from taking her to school?" Sara asked.

Rory and Sara usually meet on Monday morning to go over their schedules. "I'm going to the office after I drop Tori off. You need to order groceries today?"

"I can wait until tomorrow." Sara said. "Little bite will have to have cereal in the morning, I am out of bacon, but I can wait."

"Okay," Rory said, she looked back toward the stairs to make sure Tori was not returning. "I need to tell you something." Sara sat down in the chair next to her. "I'm seeing someone." Sara smiled. She liked working for Rory, she is glad Rory had someone.

"Logan and I have a long history. I will tell you sometime, but I know you are not a gossip or at least you do not gossip about what goes on in the house." Rory was looking at Sara. She didn't want to offend her, but she needed to know she wasn't going to run tell Lorelai or even answer Lorelai's questions. "That includes my mother and grandmother."

Sara smiles, "Yes ma'am, I understand."

"I am sure you are aware that when I have dated in the past, Tori was not introduced." Sara nodded. "Well, he knows Tori. I don't know if she understands dating, but she knows he has been around alot in the last few days."

"Rory, you don't have to worry about me. You tell me what you want me to know, and I will ask any questions that I think I need to know in order to do my job. Anything other than that, I will wait for you to tell me." Rory nodded. She opened her mouth to say something else, but Sara shook her head slightly.

"Momma," Tori said. "I'm ready to go."

Rory turned around to see Tori with her coat on and her backpack on her back. Sara stood up, "Don't forget your lunch." Sara handed her the bag. "Blueberries in your lunch, along with some orange slices to share."

"Let's go Kiddo." Rory said. As she followed Tori to the kitchen to get to the garage, she turned to Sara, "I will call you after lunch to let you know if you need to set an extra plate."

"Yes, ma'am. Have a good day." Sara told her. They both knew that Sara would not be there to set a plate for Logan. She would already be at home. Rory was just letting her know, so she could make enough supper for them. Sara cooks for them, leaving instruction on how to heat up.

Logan called before they got to the drop off line. "Hey," Logan said over the speaker,

"Hey Logan, we are on the way to school." Tori told him.

"Well, I hope I didn't interrupt Tori and Mommy time," he said.

"No," Tory laughed, "We don't have Tori and Mommy time." She told him. You could hear him chuckle.

"Well, I just called to tell you to have a good day at school." Logan said.

"Thanks," Tori told him. They were pulling into the drop off line.

"Logan," Rory said. "We are pulling into the drop off line now, can I call you after I drop her off. I'm going to the office this morning."

"Sure Ace," He said. "Talk to you later."

Rory was sitting in her office at the publishing house. She had every intention of writing some, but she couldn't concentrate. She kept thinking about Saturday night. They had watched movies, ate junk food, just enjoying each other's company, until it got time for Logan to leave.

FLASHBACK:

"Ace, Rory," Logan said, shaking her. She fell asleep ½ way through the movie. He didn't have the heart to wake her, so he finished the movie, while watching her sleep.

She opened one eye and looked at him. "Logan?" she asked.

"Yeah, You fell asleep." He told her. "Get up, I will help you upstairs before I leave."

"Leave?" she questioned. "Why are you leaving?" He was helping her sit up. He was sitting beside her. Yes he would love to stay, but he was not pushing it. This relationship is going to work this time, even if it meant blueball for a while. He's going to do everything right.

"Come on." He said, standing up, pulling her up. He helped her up the stairs. When they got into her room, she headed straight for the bathroom. He wasn't sure whether to leave or wait for her to get through. He didn't have to decide, because she emerged from the bathroom in an old Yale tee. She smiled at him before leaving the bedroom.

"Hey, Ace," He said. Following her. "Where are you going?"

"To set the alarm. I will be right back." She told him, like it was obvious.

He stopped on the stairs and waited. She set the alarm, walked by the drink cart, grabbed two bottles of water, and headed up the stairs. She passed Logan, he turned to follow. He wasn't stupid.

When they got to the bedroom door, she turned to him. "I want you to stay." She said she thought he understood she wanted him to stay.

"Ace, are you sure?" He asked. "I want this relationship. I want us to eventually become a family. I don't want to screw this up by moving too fast."

She nodded. "Is sleeping in the same bed too fast?" she asked. "Because that is all I want to do."

"I think I can handle that." He said with that ever present smirk on his face.

The next morning she recalled waking up and just watching him sleep. "Ace, I know you are watching me." He said, not opening his eyes.

"Oh, yeah," She said, "Then what am I doing now?" she leaned over and kissed him on the lips. It didn't take long before they were fighting for tongue dominance.

INTERRUPTED: FLASHBACK ENDS

"Ms. Gilmore" the receptionist said, bringing her out of her daydream.

"Yes," she said.

"You have a call on line one." Rory nodded and picked up the phone.
