Chapter 27

Sunday morning, Logan and Rory took Tori Central Park for a picnic before heading home. The trip would be longer because they are driving in Logan's new car.

When they returned to Hartford, Logan helped Rory unload the car. Tori slept most of the way, but was awake by the time they got home.

Logan kissed Rory and told her he would see her later tonight.

Rory shut the door and almost ran into Tori who was standing behind her. "Is Logan coming back?" she asked.

"Yes, he is bringing Chinese from the Panda you like." She told her.

"Is he staying with us tonight?" She asked.

"Do you want him to stay with us?" Rory asked.

"Uhum," She said. "I like when Logan stays. I want him to live with us"

"You do?" Rory asked. Tori nodded her head.

"How about we talk about this again when it gets close to your birthday?" Rory asked."Logan wants us to spend the whole month of July at his house on the Vineyard." Rory told her.

"Where is that?" Tori's eyes got big.

"You know how Grandma lives on Nantucket, how it is an island?" Rory asked.

"You showed me on the map," Tori told her.

"Well, the Vineyard is also an island, it is close to Nantucket but separate." Rory said.

Tori just nodded.

Rory was reading on the sofa when the doorbell rang. She opened the door to Logan and Chinese food. She helped him get everything to the table, then called for Tori.

"Hey Logan." Tori said. She sat in her seat while Rory got them something to drink and Logan plated the food.

They were eating and talking, well Rory and Logan were talking, when Tori spoke up. "Logan, Momma said you have an island and we going to stay a whole month on it."

"Yes," Logan said. "I have a house on the beach. It has a pool and a hot tub." Her eyes got big. "It has 5 bedrooms, an office and a playroom." he told her.

"Do I have a room too?" she asked.

"Well, how would you feel about sharing with Harper?" He asked.

"Harper will be there?" Tori was excited.

"Not all the time, but yours and Harper's room has bunk beds, but I think there will be enough room if we make it just two twin beds." Logan told her. Rory nodded.

"What else can we do on your island?" Tori asked.

"Well," Logan began. "It's not my Island, just my house. The week of the 4th of July we will have lots of people. There will be volleyball on the beach. Sandcastle building competition, lots and lots of swimming. When it is time for the fireworks, we all get in the pool on floats to watch. After the fireworks, we stay in the pool and watch movies."

Tori's eyes were getting bigger and bigger. "After everyone leaves, I will take you and your mom out on my yacht." Logan told her.

"What is a yacht?" she asked.

Rory was laughing. "It is a big boat."

"Finish eating. You need to take a bath and pick out your clothes for tomorrow. You have had a long and exciting weekend. I think you need to go to bed early." Rory told her.

"I'm not sleepy. I want Logan to tell me about his Island." Tori said.

"Come on," Rory said, getting up from the table. "I'll be a few minutes, Make yourself at home."

Rory and Tori scooted upstairs to get Tori ready for bed. Logan cleared the table and loaded the dishwasher. When finished that, he went to the living room and fixed himself a drink. He could hear them upstairs. Sounded like it wouldn't be long before Rory returned.

He was answering emails from his laptop on the coffee table when she returned.

"Hey, You could have used my office if you needed to." Rory told him. He closed the laptop while she poured herself a glass of wine.

"No, I'm fine, just passing time." He told her, patting the seat beside him. She sat down, kissed him on the lips, before taking a sip of wine and putting it on the table.

"I want to talk to you about something," Logan said. He took her hands into his.

"Do you think you could get Kenzi to stay with Tori tomorrow night?"

"I'm not sure. She usually doesn't need a lot of notice, but tomorrow is valentine's day. She may already have plans." Rory said. She could see the sadness in his eyes. "Tell me what you have planned. I will see if I can work around your plans." She had a smirk on her face.

"I just think you don't want me to surprise you." Logan said.

"No, well maybe," Rory said, "But I can talk with dad, see if he and Jennifer could watch her. Maybe let her spend the night. That would mean I have to be up super early to take her to school."

Logan thought for a moment. "Check with him. I can check with Honor, I think Josh is out of town."

"Honor has her hands full." Rory said.

They sat there for a few more minutes, then Rory remembered the valentine's she and Tori fixed Wednesday night.

She got up. "I'm sorry. I just remembered Tori's valentines for school." She went into her office, coming back with a basket of valentines cards and individually wrapped heart shaped cookies.

"If I don't set this out so I can see it, I will forget it tomorrow." Rory said. She set everything so she could get it in the morning. When finished, she sat back down beside Logan on the couch. They sat, drank wine and scotch, and talked. Rory likes to call it future gazing.

Okay, another chapter ready for submission. As always, Review. I thank everyone for all the earlier reviews. I woke up to get ready for work and had all kinds of notifications.
