Chapter 28

When Rory called Chris about keeping Tori so her and Logan could go on a date, he was very agreeable. Jennifer even volunteered to take her to school Tuesday morning.

While Tori was at school Monday, Rory worked out of her office at Peaches and Cream. She wasn't there very long before Kimberly came walking in with a dozen roses. "I was just getting on the elevator when I heard the delivery guy ask Cece when he could find Rory Gilmore. I volunteered to bring them up. Ooa, they do look lovely." she said.

Rory rolled her eyes. "Thank you Kimberly, just set them on the table by the window." Rory said. She was excited to get roses, but she had to play it cool or there would be too many questions.

"Who's the lucky fella?" Kimberly asked after putting the flowers down. "Could it be that handsome Logan Huntzburger? I saw him with you the last Saturday when I worked. Are you dating? Please tell me you have landed the awesome Huntzburger Heir. I read online about his divorce. Is it true that his wife was cheating on him?" She looked back at Rory and could tell by the look in her eye, it was time to shut up and leave.

"I'll just go back to work and do what you pay me to do." Kimberly said.

"Good idea" Rory said, and went back to opening her mail. She waited until she was sure KImberly was back in her office before she grabbed the card off the flowers.

Rory was smiling from ear to ear. She picked up her phone to call him, but decided to text instead.

R: Got your flowers. Oh, how pretty.

L: Glad you like them. Now you know why I was asking about your day.

R: Yeah, I just thought you wanted to know what my day was like because you were concerned I would be too tired for tonight.

L: Yeah, that too. Can't wait to see you.

R: Me too.

Logan didn't text back, so she got back to work. One of the interns came by getting lunch orders from the deli, so Rory ate at her desk.

When Rory picked Tori up from school, she was excited to show her all the Valentines she got.

"Jake gived me on that had a frog on it and Tami's had lollies ties to it." Tori was telling Rory. She was trying to get them out of her backpack.

"Tori just wait til we get home, don't open your backpack now." Rory said.

Tori continued to tell her about the different valentines she got. When she stopped to take a breath, Rory jumped it.

"When we get home, grab a snack, then go pack a bag. You are staying with Grampa Chris and Grammy Jen tonight. They are going to take you to school tomorrow."

"Okay," Tori said. "Why?"

There was the question she was waiting on. "Logan and I are going on a date. It is Valentine's day. Remember Lele telling you about the Love festival and how it was about Valentines day and it was for people that are in love." Rory asked.

Rory looked at her in the rearview mirror. "Yeah, do you and Logan love each other?"

"Yes, we do." Rory said. "Is that okay"

"Yes," Tori rolled her eyes. At four years old, Rory was already tired of it. "I told you we could keep him. Why can't I go with you? I want to be Logan's Valentine. Lele said she was Papa Luke's valentine. She says she is his sweetheart."

"Oh, I bet when you get home you will find a Valentine from Logan, but tonight is just for grown ups." Rory said. Tori nodded her head. She wasn't sure she understood, but she liked seeing her momma smile.

When they got home, Tori went looking for Sara for her snack, while Rory took Tori's backpack to her room to empty it and repack it for school tomorrow. She then pulled out a pair of Palm Angels Medium wash embroidered denim pants and matching Stella McMartney Kids Logo-Print Floral Graphic Shirt, her flower power socks and her Golden Goose May Glitter Star Sneakers.

She put them in Tori's smaller rolling suitcase. She then packed her pajamas along with her slippers. Tori came in while she was packing her slippers. "Do you want me to pack Ella the elephant or Roo the kangaroo?"

"Can I have both?" Tori asked. "It will help me not miss you as much." She gave Rory the puppy dog eyes.

"Yes, but I am limiting your time with Lele. I know she taught you that." Rory said. Tori just smiled.

"I founded my Valentine from Logan, I was a white bear that sings." Tori told her. Rory turned around to see it, but Tori didn't have it. "I left it on the table." she told Rory.

It wasn't long before the doorbell rang. Toni hurried down the stairs to answer the door. Rory was right behind her.

"Grampy, I packed. Is Aunt Gigi at home? I want to show her my valentine Logan gived me." She ran to the dining room to get her singing bear.

"I guess everything is going good with the two of you?" Chris asked.

"Yes, we have been future gazing." She told him.

"Oh, and how does that look?" He asked.

She smiled, but before she could answer,Tori came back with her singing bear.

After they left, Rory said good bye to Sara, then went upstairs to get ready. Logan did tell her that it was too late to get a reservation, besides, he would rather have her to himself. He didn't tell her where they were going, just to dress like it was valentines day.
