Chapter 30

After the Valentine date, Rory, Tori and Logan fell into somewhat of a routine. February's Friday night dinner was pretty slim. Lorelai and Luke went to Nantucket to check on Emily, she is having some problems with the pumping at her compound. Finn was in Australia taking care of family business. Lane and Zack went away for the weekend. Everyone else was there.

By the end of February, Logan was spending every weekend at the Gilmore Manor. When Rory remodeled her grandparents bedroom into her own, She used her grandpa's closet for what few formal clothes she had. Logan has taken over that closet now, and her formal wear has been moved into one of the spare bedrooms.

March and April went by without incident. Friday night dinners were normal, well as normal as a Friday night dinner could be. Anyone who knows Lorelai and Rory could tell they were withdrawing from each other. Neither were being ugly, to the contrary, they were overly nice to each other. Only a few knew of the Friday night knock down drag out. It was the Friday night that would never end. Chris and Luke have tried talking with both Gilmore girls, with no avail.

Tori was spending more and more time with Logan as was Rory. He was picking her up from school, taking her to dance class, to the park. The three of them have been to New York several times.

The end of April brings a halt to dance class, which means end-of-the-year-recital. Every parent looks forward to it as well as dreads it. Everyone wants to watch their child, grandchild, niece, nephew, but don't want to have to sit through watching everyone else's child.

It was Friday morning. The dance recital is scheduled for 6pm. Rory and Logan were ready for it to be over for several reasons. One being, they didn't think the floors and furniture could take much more. For the last month, Tori practiced day and night.

Harper and Tori are in the same dance class. Rory and Honor decided to keep the girls out of school today, so they could spend a mother-daughter spa day. Rory and Honor also planned an after party at the Gilmore Manor. Honor suggested the Huntzburger Manor, but Logan said he didn't think that would be a good idea.

Tori and Logan were eating breakfast at the dining room table. Logan was drinking his coffee, reading the paper, while Tori ate cereal and watched a movie on her tablet. Rory came down the stairs, earbuds in her ear, talking on the phone.

"Yes, Yes. I would agree mom, but it's 7:10 in the morning. You are just calling to suggest…...Yes, you are her grandmother, yes, grandmothers usually trump friends, but…..Mom, mom ..." Rory had stopped before going to the dining room. Logan put his paper down, watching her. He glanced at Tori to see if she was paying attention…. "If you would have planned ahead….Yes ma'am….I think that will be a good idea….. Bye mom, love you." She hit the bottom, ending the call. She just sank down on the bench in the foyer.

She has her head in her hands, slightly shaking it. "Lorelai?" Logan asked.

Rory raised her head to see Logan standing in front of her. She nodded. He reached down, touching her elbow for her to rise. "Tori," Logan said, stepping back closer to the dining room. "Mom and I are going to the office for a few minutes. When you finish eating, put your bowl away and brush your teeth. Honor and Harper will be here soon."

"Okay, Daddy Logan," She said. This just started last week. She came home from a birthday party. She was mad because Tina Maria said she didn't have a daddy like she did. This made Tori mad. She told her she had a Logan. Tina Maria told her it was not the same, if he lived with her then it was her daddy. So she came home and started calling Logan, Daddy Logan.

It took Rory and Logan a few days before Rory finally asked Tori why she was calling him Daddy Logan. Tori explained in her simply 4 year old way.

Logan led Rory to the office and pulled the door to. "What's got Lorelai bonnet all bunched?" He asked.

Rory just stared at him, then started laughing. "Bonnet Bunched?" She said and started giggling again.

"I am so glad I can make you laugh." He said.

She shook her head, "Lorelai decided this morning at 7:00 to call and suggest I keep Tori out of school and do a spa day with her." Rory told him. He raised his eyebrows. "Yes, that is what Honor and I are doing today. I remember asking Mom what she thought about the idea," She sighed. "I guess she forgot. She got mad because I reminded her that Honor and I are doing just that with Tori and Harper. So the compromise is after the party, Tori goes to Stars Hollow with Mom and Luke."

He pulled her up into his arms. "Well, as much as I enjoy Tori's company, I will be glad to have you all to myself." He said kissing her. They heard the doorbell ring in the distance.

"Honor's her," Rory said, pulling away to meet her at the door.

"Honor's timing has always needed some work." He mumbled. He followed Rory to meet Honor.

"Big sis." Logan said, kissing her cheek. "Are you ready for tonight?" Logan stopped in his tracks, "What's wrong,"

"Well, as I was telling Rory," Honor began, looking over Logan's shoulder to make sure the girls had not returned, "Shira insisted on being at the recital and after party."

Logan put his hand on Rory's shoulder. "Emily will be here too." Logan said. Rory nodded. "It will be fine. I will not let her attack you."

"I hope not, because Lorelia will also be here." Rory told them. The three of them looked from one to another, until Logan started smiling, then Rory giggled, by the time the girls returned from Tori's room, the three adults were full on laughing.

Rory, Honor, Tori and Harper enjoyed their spa day. Then they all went to lunch. Back home for a nap, so they will be fresh and rested for tonight.

While Tori napped, Rory finished up some edits. Just a few more weeks and school will be out. She stopped and added to her 'to do' list. Need to talk-Kenzie - plans for the summer.

She picked up her phone and called Logan's cell. It went straight to vm. She turned around and called the office. John answered, explaining he was in a meeting and would have him call when he returned to the office. She was okay with that. She wanted him to stop by the dry cleaners on the way home.

Logan and Rory were waiting until school was out to officially move in together. Tori and Rory would spend the 1st week of summer with Emily in Nantucket. While they are gone, Logan would officially move in, joining them for the second week.

When Logan got to the Manor, to change, he was met by Rory at the door. He looked at his watch. "I thought the girls had to be there by 5:15?" He said. Confused. He couldn't figure out why Rory wasn't with Tori. It was 5:30. He would have to hurry to keep from being late.

"Ona stopped by to pick her up. She was taking Harper, so Honor insisted she take Tori." She told him, following him up the stairs. "Now we can ride together."

"Ona, Honor's nanny?" Logan asked. Rory just laughed. Who else did he think you would let take Tori?

Carol the party planner was already in the kitchen when they left for the auditorium. Sara was supervising.
