Chapter 34
Saturday morning after breakfast Emily took Rory and Tori sightseeing. This has become a tradition. Tori could be the Nantuckett docent. She enjoys sightseeing. They stopped at Charlie Noble to have lunch.
Sunday was a lazy day. They watched movies together. Emily kept quite a few children's movies. Bertha's nieces and nephews come to stay periodically.
Monday the three of them played on the beach, before going to the Club for Rory and Tori to swim and Emily to visit with her friends.
Tuesday they played in the yard, stayed around the house. Emily and Rory talked some more while Tori was playing in the jungle gym.
Wednesday they went to the movies.
Rory and Logan talked several times a day, as did Logan and Tori. Rory was talking to Logan on the phone on her way to pick up Luke and Lorelai.
"Ace, stay calm." Logan told her. "Don't let her get to you. Rely on Luke as much as possible."
"I know Logan," She said as she pulled into the parking lot. "I wished you were here, but then again if you are not here, maybe things will go smoother."
"I love you. Don't forget that. I love Tori too." Logan said.
"I love you too, but I'm here so let me go. Talk to you later." Rory said and hung up the phone.
She didn't have to wait long before she saw the two of them. She waved so they could see her.
She hugged her mom, then Luke. "I was hoping you would bring the munchkin with you." Lorelai said.
"She was busy with Grandma when I left. They were putting together a puzzle when I left." Rory told her.
The ride back to the compound was filled with Lorelai filling Rory in on the goings on in Stars Hollow.
Tori and Emily were sitting on the porch when they arrived. Tori met them at the car before they could get out. She was excited. They were surprised when they went inside. Tori and Emily decorated the living room with 'WELCOME TO THE SANDCASTLE' posters, hand drawn by one Victoria Hayden Gilmore.
Luke and Lorelai spent some time with Emily, Tori and Rory, before going across the yard to their house.
The rest of the day, Tori was back and forth. She had just got off the phone with Logan when Lorelai returned to the main house for supper.
Lorelai stopped at the door when she heard what Tori was saying.
"Then he said the pool was the house, like at home and I can swim everyday." Tori was telling Emily and Rory what Logan told her on the phone. "He said he will be here in 2 sleeps, then we will go to the yard." She said, "I need to go pack," she jumped up and ran upstairs. Emily and Rory were laughing at her. They didn't notice Lorelia at the door.
"So," Lorelai said, causing Emily and Rory to turn around to look at Lorelai at the door. "Are you and Tori going with Logan to the Vineyard?" Lorelia asked. Rory nodded but Lorelai continued before Rory could say anything. "You know," Lorelai said as she walked into the living room. "I've been thinking about this." She was now pacing in front of Rory and Emily. Luke had entered the room at this time. "Logan is Tori's father."
Rory didn't say anything. She was doing everything possible to keep her expression normal. "Lorelai!" Luke said. The three ladies turned to see Luke standing at the door. "Do you think this is a good idea? Where is Tori?"
"She's upstairs." Rory said just above a whisper.
"Lorelia, Please calm down," Emily said.
"Calm down?" Lorelia said. "She lied. She has been lying for four years. Rory, this is not you. Why do you always do this when it comes to Logan?"
Luke walked over to Lorelia. "Let's go back across the yard. "You need to calm down before Tori hears you. I don't care how mad you are at Rory, Logan or whoever, but you will not say anything that that precious child could overhear." Luke took her by the hand, leading her out the door. "We will just eat at our place."
Emily watched her daughter and son-in-law leave, then turned to Rory. Rory was standing with tears running down her cheeks. Emily moved to her, hugging her. "Pull yourself together before Tori comes down." Emily said. Rory nodded and headed to the bathroom.
"Oh, Richard, How I wished you were here. I wish this every day, but today, I wish it for Rory." Emily said.
When Berta let them know that supper was ready, Emily called over to Luke and Lorela's to see if they wanted to come eat. They didn't.
Tori asked where Lele and Papa Luke were. They told her they weren't feeling well. Emily nor Rory know what else to tell her.
I know this is a shorter chapter, but I think it is full of good content.
