Chapter 47
Sunday morning, Logan, Rory, Emily, she wanted to see the house after Honor's renovations, Tori, Harper and Honor walked into Logan's house on the Vineyard. Harper and Tori went straight to their room to see if any work had been done.
Honor was pointing to some of the work she had done. She started telling them her vision for the engagement party. Her and Emily were talking softly, when Logan interrupted.
"Honor, I noticed you put a queen bed in the boys room. Surely you don't think they will sleep in the same bed. Did you put the buck beds in the attic or do I need to order another set?" He asked.
Honor looked at him. She was confused, then she remembered. "Oh, baby bother, I guess I forgot to tell you." Honor had a look of 'oops, I'm in trouble' of course it was fake. She knew it, so did Logan.
"What did you do, Honor?" Logan said.
Honor started laughing, "Follow me," Honor started up the stairs with everyone following. When they reached the second floor she opened the door to the attic. She started up those stairs and stepped in the attic.
"Honor," Logan said.
"What is this?" Rory asked.
"This is the boys' dorm." She said, They followed her to one end of the room. She showed them the dorm showers and toilet stalls.
"Wow, so I now have 3 more toilets and a dorm shower," Logan said. "Where was this when I was 12?" He walked to the other end of the dorm. The wall was full of any and all game systems. He picked up one of the controllers.
"Logan," Rory said. "Did you notice the bunk beds?"
He turned around to see both long walls 3 bunk beds line each wall. He turned to Honor. "This is great. Why didn't we think of this earlier. Colin and Finn would love this." Logan said.
The rest of the day the girls played in the pool while Honor, Emily and Rory worked on plans for the engagement party. They conferenced Gigi in so she could have an input.
It was late when they returned home. Logan carried Tori to bed. They put her to bed, then the two of them fell into bed.
Wednesday morning Logan was slow to get up. He wasn't due in the office until after lunch. Still didn't mean he could lay around. He and Honor have a meeting with Shira. All the lawyers would be there also.
He got out of the shower feeling good. He was determined to face this day with a smile. He is engaged. Has a beautiful, talented, intelligent fiancé. A daughter that is beyond what he could hope for. His life was great. He was not going to let this meeting or the things he has to do protaning to this meeting get him down.
He stepped to the pool house, he was going to work for a couple of hours before meeting everyone at the manor. He hadn't been working for about 30 minutes when his cell phone rang.
"Huntzburger," Logan answered.
"Hayden," Chris replied.
"Hey Chris," Logan said. "What can I do for you this morning?"
"I just talked to Rory," Chris said. "I talked to her first. I want Rory to be in the meeting today." Logan started to say something, but Chris interrupted. "Listen to me, I will be with her. I will represent her." Chris paused. Logan didn't say anything, he waited. He actually thought this was a good idea, but he wanted to see Chris' reason.
"You and Rory will be married soon." He said. "I don't know if you and Rory have talked about a prenup, but she is a wealthy woman. I know, it is nothing compared to you, but she has enough money that neither she nor Tori will ever have to worry or work. I think she should be there, and be represented."
"I agree," Logan said. "I really haven't thought about that, but Rory and I need to sit down and talk, then we need to get our accounts together. To answer your question. Yes, you and Rory should be there. What did she say?" Logan asked.
"She told me to call you," He said. "She would do whatever we decide, but she did agree that she needed to know what was going on, even if she didn't have any input." Logan agreed.
After he hung up the phone, Logan finished up his email, then went looking for Rory. She was in the kitchen reading the paper.
"Hey," He said, kissing her on the side of the head. "I talked to your dad."
"Logan, I know we haven't talked about it, but I have business knowledge."
"Yes, I know, my smart, intelligent fiancé. I have seen the diplomas on the wall."
"Had to do something while I was pregnant and waiting on my book to be picked up." She told him. He sat with her. They talked about what to expect at the meeting.
Tori came walking across the foyer, dragging her blanket and holding on to her pink elephant. Rory and Logan watched her. She looked like she was not awake. She walked to Logan and crawled up in his lap. Logan smiled.
Chris, Logan and Rory stood at the Huntzburger Manor door. Before Logan could open the door or ring the bell, Honor opened the door. "Hey," She said, hugging Rory, then Logan, nodding at Chris. "We are in the sitting room." They followed.
"Logan, Rory, Chris," Honor said. "This is Ralph Penagrass of Penagrass, Simons, and Adams. He is representing mom. Mr. Penagrass, this is my brother Logan, his fiancé Rory Gilmore and her"
Logan interrupted her. "Her Lawyer, Chris Hayden." Chris nodded and Honor looked at him confused.
Logan then shook Colin's hand. "Hey man. Thanks for doing this."
"Always man. Your retainer keeps Stephanie in clothes." Colin said. He was there representing Logan personally.
"Johnny, Bruce," Logan said shaking hands with the company lawyers.
They all took a seat. Honor sat back down beside Josh. He whispered in her ear. She smiled and nodded.
"I guess we are waiting on Mom?" Logan asked.
"Yes," Honor answered, "Last time I checked she said she will be down in a few minutes."
Logan stood up. "Let's all go ahead and situated in the office. Honor would you mind checking on her. Tell her we are waiting." Logan said and he led them to Mitchum's office.
When Logan entered the office, he looked around. He will need to go through all this stuff. Some of it will need to go in his safe at work. "Have a seat, make yourself comfortable." He told them.
The door opened and Rory entered followed by the maid. "I thought we all could use some coffee and Glenda made some wonderful muffins this morning. The maid smiled at them and put the tray on the conference table. It wasn't as big as the ones at HPG, but Mitchum's office was set up for meetings like this.
"Thank you." Logan said. Talking to Glenda as well as Rory.
Rory was helping Glenda with the coffee when Shira walked in. She stood at the door and looked around. Logan was sitting at the head of the table with Honor sitting to her right, Josh next to her. She recognized Colin and HPG lawyers. Colin must be there as Logan's personal lawyer. She didn't know the man sitting next to Colin, but she recognized the female helping Glenda with the coffee.
Rory took the seat between Chris and Colin. When Glenda shut the door and left. Logan cleared his throat. "I think we need to get started."
"Logan," Shira said. "I don't understand why she is here or him." She said pointing at Chris. He looked familiar to her, but she wasn't sure where she knew him from. She was sure it was society.
"Don't worry about it. We need to get this started. I don't plan on being her all day. I have meetings in the office after lunch. Shira didn't like his response, but Logan didn't give her a chance to say anything. He jumped right into talking.
When the meeting was over, and the lawyer left, Logan sighed. He looked at his mom, then Honor. Honor would be far. He put her in charge of getting Shira's house built and furnished. He told her to let Shira pick out what she wanted, within reason. He was not paying for a solid gold toilet.
"Well, I guess that is taking care of." Logan said. He stood up. Looked at his watch. "I'm buying lunch, who's in?" He asked.
