Chapter 53

WEDDING DAY

Logan woke before daylight. He looked at his phone to see the time. Lay back down, not wanting to disturb Rory. Today is my wedding day. I am getting married to the love of my life. I have loved you all my adult life. He started thinking over the years. He thought of their college time together. The LDB. The Jump. No strings. The ultimatum. Having a girlfriend for the first time. The break up. Getting back together. His graduation. The move to London. The botched deal. The proposal. The rejection. Hamilburg the reunion. Finding out about Tori. Before he could think any more, he felt Rory stir.

PARTY DAY

Rory slowly woke. It was the day to celebrate their upcoming marriage. She is marrying the love of her life. The father of her child. Her soulmate. Oh, no, today is party day. She jumped up, scaring Logan. She has too much to do today. She had people ascending on her house, or Logan's house, well she guessed it was going to be her house.

"Ace, Where are you going?" Logan asked. "Slow down, you have plenty of time, the party isn't until tonight."

"I know, but we have people arriving today, this morning. I need to get up." Rory said. "What kind of host would I be if I was still in bed when they arrived.?" She jumped in the shower. Logan sighed. He hoped everything would go as planned.

Honor and Lorelai were supposed to be handling the arrival of the guest. Logan and Rory arrived downstairs to Honor feeding everyone breakfast.

With Lane and Paris arriving, they wanted Rory to go with them to find a dress for tonight. Before they left, Honor told them they have an appointment at Nordic Mermaid for a facial, massage, makeup, mani and pedi at 2:00.

"But that will put us getting home just before the party starts." Rory said. "I need to be here to greet our guests."

"Ace, I will handle that. Then I will come get you to make a grand entrance." Logan told her. She rolled her eyes. He always wants a grand gesture.

While they are gone, everyone will be let in on the plans.

They stopped at several shops, but couldn't find what they were looking for. "Paris, you and Lane should be able to fit into something I already have." Rory said. "Let's just go back to the house and look through mine and Honor's closet."

"Fine," Paris said, cutting her eyes at Lane who was looking at her watch.

"I'm hungry," Lane said.

"Yeah, me too," Paris said.

"There is a diner at the end of this street." Rory said.

The girl went to the diner to eat. They took their time. Their appointment to the spa is at 2:00

Rory was rushed upstairs when they returned. Logan followed them up. "Ace, take your time, I will come get you when it is time." Logan told her.

Paris and Lane found dresses. Actually, they brought their dresses with them. The three of them got dressed together.

When it was time to go, Chris came to the door and knocked. Paris opens the door for Chris and she and Lane leave.

"Kiddo," Chris said. "Logan sent me to get you."

"Logan sent you to get me." She asked. She has been suspicious all day, but now she is sure something besides a party is going on.

"Dad?" Rory asked.

"Hey," Chris said. "I can't tell you what is going on, but I can tell you that you will enjoy it. Can you just go along with what Logan is doing? Please."

Rory smiled, "Sure dad, let's go."

With that, she looped her arm into his and let him lead her to the top of the stairs. When they got to the bottom and turned the corner, she could see her surprise. She is getting married. She couldn't stop the tears forming in her eyes.

Logan was standing on the other side of the pool under a wedding arch filled with flowers. Standing beside him were Colin and Finn. They were all dressed in tuxedos. On the other side of the arch stood Lane and Paris, both holding flowers. In front of them stood Tori. The pool was full of floating candles and flowers. The guests were all standing around the pool.

When she got her breathing under control, she nodded to her dad, she was ready. He walked her to Logan, gave her a kiss and shook his hand.

The judge started the ceremony. When asked who gives this woman? Chris, Lorelai, Luke and Jenn stood together, "Her family."

During the ceremony anyone that knows Shira could tell she wasn't happy. She was not even trying to hide it.

Lorelai, on the other hand, was smiling. She wasn't happy, but she was trying her best to hide it. She knows that she will have to accept this marriage if she wants any kind of relationship with her daughter and grand daughter.

Before the rings were exchanged, the ceremony was paused. The judge called Tori to come stand between her parents. Logan squatted down to her level.

"Tori in a minute, the judge is going to have me put a ring on your mom's finger and she is going to put one on my finger. When this happens, we will be married and your mom's name will be Lorelia Leigh Huntzbuger, just like mine." Logan said. He was watching her reaction. "I was wondering if you would like to have my last name too. Your name will be Victoria Hayden Gilmore Huntzburger." He took her hand and placed an opal ring on her finger. "What do you say? You think you want to be a Huntzburger?"

"I can't spell Hunzburger." Tori said. She was looking at her ring. "But you can teach me." Logan smiled. Tears were falling from Rory's eyes. She didn't even try to stop them.

Logan stood up, took Rory's hand. He looked at the judge. He continued the ceremony. After they kissed, he presented them as the Huntzburger family.

Tori's ring. Disney-Opal-Cinderella inspired diamond & created opal carriage ring in sterling silver.
