Here's a treat for you all glad this story is receiving love and glad for all the suggestions. Yogaratw607 I love that idea of adding the Strauss siblings along with Cana and Juvia, a way to give them more screen time. Tell me what your guy's opinions on Juno are.
Chp 2: Obsidian Fog pt 2
The fairy tail mages needed to get to the council post haste so walking there wouldn't do them any good, so they got a carriage with some horses making their way to their destination. Gajeel was driving the carriage while eating some iron to replenish his strength, Wendy and Zodie along with Juno kept quiet while Juvia consoled them.
"How're you two holding up?" Asked the water mage.
"Been better I mean the day after we join something crazy like this happens." Zodie said.
"A dark guild gets the drop on us running from our brainwashed allies, this wasn't how I was hoping for our first day at the guild to be." Added Wendy.
"I know exactly what you mean, when I first joined I was turned into stone, and the entire guild was forced to fight one another."
The cait shelter trio looked at the water mage aghast.
"Really by who?" Carla asked.
" Lauxes and the thunder legion."
"Who's Lauxes is he a member of the guild?" Wendy asked.
"Was but after his stunt of trying to overtake the guild master expelled him." Gajeel said cutting into the conversation.
"And the other members of the thunder legion?" Zodie asked.
"One of their members you saw before Fried had a hand in it, if you're worried about trusting him you shouldn't. He helped us out there and sacrificed himself." Gajeel added.
"It's never really a dull moment with the fairy tail guild is it?" Juno asked.
"How're you holding up Juno, you have any family I'm sure they're worried?" Asked Juvia.
Oh… th… they're not really around most of the time so I doubt they know."
"Alright everyone, pipe down here." Gajeel said. The building's base was composed of bricks of octagonal shape with floating panels on the side with a floating tower on the top over a bowl shaped dome.
"This is where they're keeping Cassidy, we just get in and find him." Wendy said
"So how exactly do we get in, I mean this place has to be guarded right." Said Carla.
Suddenly there was a massive explosion that erupted from the building creating a large hole on the side.
"Well looks like we found our way in, let's move." Juno said as the group ran inside.
When the group arrived inside it was mayham many of the council members had fallen victim to the fog and they were tearing each other apart as well as the building.
"Well it looks like we'll have to fight our way to get inside." Carla said.
"Leave that to me, you five get to the cell room and find this guy. I'm gonna keep them busy." Gajeel dashed in for an attack. "Iron Dragon club!" Creating a massive impact knocking many guards away and getting their attention.
As instructed the five raced through the madness and made their way down towards the cell room. The prison section was rectangular with stone floors, closed on three sides by stone walls, and housing gratings on the other side, with the doors giving access to them being part of the gratings. Separating a cell from the one at its side is a section of wall to which a lantern is attached.
"Ok Cassidy has to be down here somewhere I just hope we don't run into the oracion seis." Said Zodie.
"Not likely given their track record they'll most likely be in maximum security at another prison." Carla said.
Suddenly they began to hear voices.
"Hey someone is down here and their scent I recognize." Wendy said.
Juvia Carla and Zodie followed Wendy as she led the way they soon came upon two kids. It was their friends they made back in udenia Abner Shapiro and April Sundew. Abner was wearing a mint colored sweater with a long white sleeve shirt with black jeans and loafers. April wore green overall shorts with a black shirt under it. Accompanying them was of course bulby Man(Authors note her living plant that only she can talk to, it's in my first story), thanks to one of her dad's connections they got in pretty easily.
"Start talking Cassidy, how do we turn everyone back to normal!? Demanded Abner.
"Like i'd ever tell you kid." Cassidy replied.
"Ugh we've been at this for almost half an hour and he still hasn't talked, what're we gonna do." April said in dismay.
"April Abner you guys."
The two looked up and saw three familiar faces and one not so familiar face which filled their faces up with joy.
"Zodie, Wendy and Carla." The group of kids ran up to each other, Wendy and April hugging each other and Abner and Zodie fist bumped.
"Oh man, I'm glad to see you guys aren't being controlled, but the heck are you guys doing here and who's your friend." Abner asked.
"Oh this is Juvia, Juvia these are our friends Abner and April." Zodie introduced.
The water mage waves a tiny wave.
"And this is Juno. We just met her today." Wendy introduced.
"Oh great it's you two brats." Said Cassidy. "So how do you like the obsidian fog, is it the worst fogging day of your life." Cassidy began to laugh.
Zodie grabbed him by the shirt and pulled Cassidy's face into the metal bar. "Shut up this whole thing isn't fogging funny!" Said Zodie.
"What were you two doing down here if I may ask?" Asked Juvia.
"Well I was over at April's house when those putrid carnage guys attacked." Said Abner.
"My dads got infected, we only got away because Bulby protected us." April said looking down. "Then Abner got the idea of coming here to get answers from Cassidy on how we can stop it, but so far he's been non compliant."
"What about you two?" Asked April.
"Same as you, our guildmates were taken over by the fog." Wendy explained.
"Oh they went after Caitshelter, i'm so sorry." Said Abner.
"Not quite." Said Zodie as he and Wendy showed them their guild marks.
"Wow cool you guys are fairy tail wizards now." Abner said stoked.
"What about Cait Shelter, why'd you leave them." Asked April.
Carla finally cut in. "Save the questions for later we have more important matters at hand."
"You find the guy I already finished upstairs." Said Gajeel coming down the corridors. "Who're these two?"
"Friends of ours here for the same reason as us." Zodie answered.
"Holy crap, Gajeel redfox, former mage of the phantom lord guild, now a member of Fairy tail." Cassidy started laughing. "Man how the mighty has fallen."
Gajeel then tore the cell bars off and grabbed Cassidy by the shirt and pinned him against the wall. "With a feminine name like yours pal I wouldn't be the one laughing here, now tell us how to undo the fog."
"Oh please those brats tried interrogating me and it didn't work, what makes you think I'll tell you."
Gajeel then tossed Cassidy to the floor and stomped his boot on his arm, breaking it. "Because I aint a kid." The iron dragon morphed his arm into a blade and it began to spin like chainsaw, he started motioning it towards Cassidy's arm. "How do we undo the fog spell, tell us before you lose the hand, nothing hurts worse than losing a hand especially when you won't be able to feel it!"
"Wow I suggested we beat the crap out of him not dismember him." Zodie said.
"Yeah h…he's not really gonna cut his arm off is he.?" Wendy asked, covering her eyes.
"I'm gonna go stand over there. I can't stand the sight of blood." Said Abner.
Fear overtool Cassidy's body as the blade came closer and closer. "ALRIGHT ALLRIGHT I'LL TALK!"
Gajeel stopped. "I'm listening."
"The venerated elixir." Said Cassidy.
"The what?" Asked Zodie.
"It's a concoction that can be used to reverse the effects of the mist, by having it released into the atmosphere."
"Where can we get it?" Juvia asked.
Cassidy starts to chuckle. "You can't get it anywhere, it can only be made, I ain't telling nothing."
Gajeel was about to rip on Cassidy again til Juvia grabbed him by the collar giving him the most sinister glare. "My beloved Gray is under the influence of the mist so you'd better tell us how to make that damned elixir concoction or whatever the hell it's called right now."
This was enough for Abner to cower behind April. "Man these two are scary."
"Ok you'll need a blood sample from anyone exposed to the fog, next you'll need these ingredients here." Cassidy had handed Juvia a piece of paper with the ingredients.
"And you sure this is it?!" Juvia asked.
Cassidy knotted profusely. "Also you'll only have twelve hours.
"And just in case you're lying, you're coming with us." Gajeel said.
April used her magic to wrap vines tightly around Cassidy allowing the iron dragon to carry him.
"This is great, we just need blood samples from the infected guards. That's stage one of our plan." Wendy said.
"Yes child but don't forget we only have twelve four hours to save everyone." Carla said,
"Yes and unfortunately we don't know where to get these ingredients." Juvia said.
"Can I see that list real quick?" Asked April.
The water mage handed April the paper. "Wait, I recognize these ingredients. We can get them at Udenia's potion class, I can easily whip up that elixir."
"You can, really?" Asked Gajeel.
"Yep her dad's taught her all about chemistry." Wendy added.
"In that case let's get that sample and head over to the school we have less than twenty four hours now." Zodie said.
Unbeknownst to the group they were being monitored through a surveillance lacrima by the master of Putrid Carnage. "If they think i"m going to let them stop this they're wrong, the Toxic trio and the fairies are headed to Udenia to stop them!"
The group arrives at the magic academy Abner was tasked with keeping an eye on Cassidy, making sure he didn't run away. The rest of the group walked through the quiet vacant halls of the school. April led the way to the lab while the rest were on guard.
"Okay here's the lab." April jiggled the door knob but no luck. "Shoot, it's locked."
"Allow me." Gajeel walked up to the door and kicked it down. Earning him some glances.
"What, it's for a good cause besides if this dump is a top academy then they're well insured.
"A…anyway let me get to work." Said April as she began grabbing the needed ingredients and starting working on the cure.
"I'll hit the ladies room while you blokes wait." Said Juno walking off.
The process would take a while so Zodie and Wendy decided to take a walk around the hallway to pass the time.
"Well in any case it's great seeing April and Abner again huh, and it's even great to walk around this school too. " Zodie said. "I kicked that dude's ass who insulted you."
"I just wish it was under better circumstances." Wendy said, looking down. "We just found a new guild and something crazy like this is already happening.
"Things will get better, I just know it Wendy, I mean look at this as one of the many adventures of the fairy tail guild, we've all those crazy stories like Deliora or phantom lord, that was when Gajeel was still a rotten bastard."
However the said dragon slayer listened in on the bit of conversation regarding him. "Hey I can hear you kid drop that crap right now and never bring it up again!" Gajeel yelled.
Wendy began laughing. "Ok I guess you're right."
Back outside Abner was practicing on his violin to pass the time to the dismay of Cassidy. "Will you knock it off this is torture!"
"This is music." Replied Abner
"Oh please you wouldn't know good music if it knocked you on your ass!"
That pissed off the violin player as he focused his magic into the violin string which knocked Cassidy to the ground; due to being shackled he couldn't get up. "How's that for being knocked on your ass." The tension was then cut when some cloaked figures with the putrid carnage symbol on them came up to the school, upon further inspection he saw that they were setting up an enchantment.
"H…hey…hey guys, it's me Cass-." Cassidy yelled before Abner jumped onto him and covered his mouth with a rag.
"This isn't good how'd they find us, I better call the others."
"Ok here it is the elixir that'll fix everyone."
"We'll be done now all we have to do is split into teams and spread it throughout the land." Said Juvia.
"I'm afraid it won't be that easy. There's still the matter of dealing with putrid carnage's toxic trio." Said Carla.
"I'm sorry, who know.?"
"Apparently our friends from putrid carnage sent three psycho assassins after us." Zodie answered.
"And they gave us a run for our money too." Added Wendy. Suddenly she began to catch a whiff of something pungent, Carla noticed this too. "Wendy what is it are you alright?"
"I…I smell gas you guys!"
So can I but where's it coming from?" Asked April.
Juvia began noticing streams of purple gas entering the room. "Everyone the gas is coming from inside we shouldn't breathe it in!"
"Everyone here take these!" Said April handed everyone a gas mask.
Zodie then got a call from his communication lacrima from Abner. "Ab what's up?"
"We got a problem, putrid carnage is here, they followed us and they're setting up an enchantment over the school to keep you guys from getting out."
"Gajeel then took the lacrima. "Seriously oh great if that's not bad enough we got gas filling up in this place, I'll bet it's that gas bastard we dealt with earlier."
"Hello fairies I hope you can hear me." Spoke a familiar voice via telepathy.
"Oh man you were right Gajeel it is him Mostaza." Zodie said.
"As of right now you might be finding it hard to breathe right now, you wanna beat me you have to me find first, I'm hidden somewhere in the school let's hope your lungs can last before the gas takes its course."
"This isn't good, what're we going to do?" Asked Juvia.
