Chp 9: A dance to remember
In the library of Udenia Academy resident student Ferdinand Ritzenberg stood in the school library teeth clenched in a very angry mood. Ever since Zodie Mcknight came and outshined him he's had nothing but revenge on his mind, he assaulted him, beat him at his best game and stole his popularity. Even his two lackeys stopped following him around; they were done with his crap and wanted to be better people.
"Mcknight you ARROGANT nobody you made me look bad you think you can get away with that, I swear you'll pay!"
"Hey pissenberg who're you talking to the bathroom that way." One student mocked walking by.
"And now I've lost all my respect around here to, I swear if I ever get the opprotunity I WILL MAKE YOU PAY!"
"Hey Ritzenberg if you're gonna be noisy then you're gonna have to leave the library!"
The student grunted and cursed under his breath as he made his way out of the library he hit a nearby shelf making books fall over in a large pile. One of the books stuck out to him. It was dark with the skeleton of a creature on it and it was glowing green. Ferdinand picked it up then suddenly felt a tingling sensation enter his body. He began to see visions of a land which was once inhabited by denizens but were soon sealed away and a building was built in its place.
'Find the hidden chasm, release us, and the power will be yours to do anything.' He heard the book say to him telepathically.
Ferdinand then grinned devilishly. "And I believe this is the way I can do it."
Team Natsu along with the Cait Shelter trio had just returned from job; by job it was sort of a disaster Natsu Gray and Erza wrecked most of the town so most of the repairs had to come out of their reward money which was a big time bummer for Lucy Zodie and Wendy.
"Barbarians the lot of you from now on Zodie and Wendy should just go on their own missions from now on." Said Carla.
"Please let me come with you guys." Whined Lucy.
They arrived at the bar and were greeted by Mirajane. "Welcome back, how'd the job go?"
"Please don't ask." Said Lucy in dismay.
"That's bad, well here's your special right here."
"Thankyou Mira." Said Lucy through sips of her drink.
"By the way Wendy Zodie this letter came in for you guys."
Zodie took the letter and inspected the envelope recognizing the symbol on it. "Wow this is from Udenia."
"Udenia, that's the school you guys did a job back in cait shelter?" Asked Gray.
Zodie opened the envelope. "Hopefully they're not in trouble again, I'd need to have a major talk with Abner."
"Dear Zodie Mcknight and Wendy Marvell on behalf of Udenia Academy, we'd like to invite you to our annual dance filled with a night of fun music and food that'll fill you with long lasting memories. Think of it as a thankyou for helping our school during the attack from Putrid carnage, hope to see you

Zodie and Wendy's eyes were filled with stars. "Music." Said Wendy. "Food." Said Zodie.
"When does it say the dance is?" Asked Happy flying over between them.
"It's in seven days ." Zodie said.\
"That should give us time to pick out something to wear." Said Wendy. At the mention of that Erza along with Lucy Mira and Levy all gathered around the sky maiden.
"MAKEOVER TIME!" They all shouted in unison so much so Wendy had to cover her ears. With this the group of females exited the bar to go shopping with Carla following after them.
"Well that was something, now I need something to wear but I don't know what to wear, I've never gone shopping for clothes before." Said Zodie.
"Hey Zod, if you need help we can be of service." Said Max with Warren next to him.
"Really cool thanks, let's go."
Later at night everyone had gone home and Zodie and Wendy and Carla were at their respected dorms chatting via lacrima going over their experiences while shopping; even their buddies April Abner along with Juno had joined; ever since the putrid Carnage incident she was appealed and was adopted by April's two fathers making the girls sisters, even better she to was attending Udenia along with Abner and April.
"We're happy for you Juno." Abenr said.
"Thanks mates o man I can't wait for this dance me sis and I, yes I can officially call her me sister already have our outfits picked out." Juno says this as she wraps her arms around April.
"I gotta ask how're things going at school, is that butt-nugget Ferdinand still giving you crap?" Asked Zodie.
"No he hasn't but in fact his two lackeys have stopped hanging out with him." Abner answered.
"I heard from one kid who heard from this other kid who heard from a teacher that he's been hanging out by himself, they say e he's been living out in a makeshift shack nearby in the woods just waiting for revenge." Said April, earning her looks. "Hey, it's just a rumor."
"In any case the school is better off without that bad apple causing trouble." Said Zodie.
"So about this dance you lot going with anybody, how about you two." Juno said, referring to Zodie and Wendy making them both blush. "You know many students are spreading rumors about you guys being boyfriend and girlfriend
"Eh what." "Excuse me." Bothe fairy tail mages said.
"Yeah and they even made a cute couple name for you."
"Half are calling you Zendy, and the other half Zwendy."
"The hell are they thinking, look, me and Wendy are just life long friends ok, tell those students need to cut the crap!" Zodie said embarrased.
"Relax love, I was just tugging on yus."
"Oh boy Juno, it's time to end our call, we better get to bed." Said April.
"Bollocks the one downside of having parents, bed time, anywho's night loves."
"Night." Juno Abner and April all hung up leaving Zodie and Wendy.
"This'll be exciting huh, us as a group of friends hanging out together." Said Zodie.
"R…right nothing more." Replied Wendy.
There was an awkward pause between the two for a moment.
"Anyway good night." Said Zodie as they both hung up."
Zodie went under his covers completely covering himself was this the kind of dance where boys and girls dance together. Wendy was the closest girl he's ever been with many thoughts ran through his head, would this mean that they'd be a couple? Over with Wendy and Carla the sky maiden was in her bathroom splashing water in her face.
"We're just going as friends. That's all nothing more nothing less just friends I mean it's not like we're going as boyf…I mean he's a boy who is just my friend thats all."
"Are you alright with their child?" Carla asked.
"THAT'S ALL!" Yelled Wendy.
With Ferdinand after finding the mysterious book it had led him to the wilderness of the academy at an open field. He had to wait till classes were over and choose a time where the school's caretaker wouldn't be snooping; it couldn't be night because the school had a curfew and if you were caught you'd be in real deep shit. Ferdinand was out there for hours the book had led him out there but nothing was happening.
"Come on I've been out here all damn day and it's nearly dark out, come on tell me what i'm supposed to do where's the stupid chasm!?"
Suddenly he took a step and the ground beneath him glowed green, the ground began to spread apart creating a chasm . "This…This must be the chasm so I'm getting closer to my objective, but how am I supposed to get down there? The book then surrounded Ferdinand in a green bubble and it flew him straight down to the bottom of the chasm. He then sees a cave and walks in the book, providing light illuminating throughout the darkness allowing him to see he arrived in a large chamber like room with statues that resemble demons. "Now what?"
'Read the words.'
"What words?"
Ferdinand's eyes began to glow green showing him the words.
"demaor ecno uoy dnal eht klaw dna snezined cinomed htruof emoC." The statues began to glow and release a green mist, cracks began to form on them so they were'nt statues no more they were now walking demons with glowing green eyes. As they came to life they began to surround Ferdinand, he was on the defense fearing that they'd attack him but instead they bowed to him. "Ok, I wasn't expecting that."
'This army is now yours to control.'
Ferdinand had levitated himself back up from the cave not too far behind where an army of demons were climbing out; under the light of the moon they were revealed to be teal colored rabbit-like reptilian monsters with yellow eyes with lanky bodies. They all came to a halt and awaited their masters command. As the boy stood there basking in his power he happened to overhear some students talking about the school dance. "Did you hear Zodie and Wendy are coming? " Said a female student, oh man he's so cool. "Mcknight is coming back, perfect."
He turns to his army. "Alright my minions now that you're free I've got a job for you first we head over to the school Udenia and exact my revenge on Zodie Mcknight." Said Ferdinand as his eyes now became empty lifeless green pores and sounded as thought he was talking with two voices. "But first we'll need to take care of some hiccups along the way."

With the Udenia gang they were helping out with the dance; Abner helped with music recommendations while the girls gave good food recommendations. Ever since putrid carnages attack both Abner and April have become popular at their school; no longer treated like outsiders. In fact all their tormentors apologize to them.
"Oi ab sis, let's take a break and get some Grub." Said Juno as the three made their way to the lunchroom; which is now outside due to the dance being in the cafeteria. While they sat and ate Abner noticed something was bothering April. "Hey April what's up you're not eating."
"It's just the recent explosions going off all around the town. I'm worried that the headmaster will cancel the dance and some curfew will have to be enforced."
"Don't sweat it love, I mean it's been happening for three days now im sure the big man would've said something by now, so don't fret." Juno reassured her sister.
"Yeah your right thanks sis."

The day of the dance had finally come. Zodie and Wendy decided they'd dress up at the school; wearing it on the train would probably ruin them. Carla, though not formally invited, invited herself not wanting to leave Wendy's side. Erza took it upon herself to see them off. "You two have fun and take lot's of pictures too." The red head looked at Wendy. "I'm sure Carla will do her task and warred off any boys that might have any perverted thoughts." Wendy giggled at this while Carla nodded her head.
"We will Erza thanks." Said Zodie. The train arrived and the trio hopped on making their way to the academy. "This'll be so exciting huh?" Said Wendy. The phoenix slayer nodded and the two remained silent sitting on opposite sides of each other avoiding eye contact; ever since Juno put that idea of going as a couple they've been acting a little weird around each other. Zodie decided to break the silence. "Man it'll be great to be back at the academy through good circumstances, unlike the whole putrid carnage fiasco."
"Yeah and the first fiasco too." Said Wendy, as they both started laughing. Carla looked at them both pinching the bridge between her eyes shaking her head.
The train finally arrived at their destination. The trio arrived at the door where they were met face to face with the students. The halls were silent for a few seconds till they were filled with cheers. "WENDY AND ZODIE ARE HERE!" This surprised the two young wizards with their good deed for the school and made them celebrities here now. Both got their own set of fans. "WE LOVE YOU WENDY." Said two boys one of them tore his shirt off revealing a picture of Wendy on his stomach making the sky maiden embarrassed, Carla threw a ball that was lying around and threw it directly into his stomach making him stumble. Some of the girls were acting all love sick, "OMG IT'S ZODIE, HE'S SO CUTE." One girl said. "Cute no he's handsome." Said another. The two began to glare at each other. "Back off you hussy I saw him first." "No I did." They went back and forth with each other till they began to fight and wrestle each other to the ground. After walking they met two familiar faces, the headmaster and Matsu Brogden.
"Zodie Wendy Carla it's so good to see you again, and thank you for attending." Said the Headmaster,
"Thank you for having us." Said Zodie.
"So you guy's going together,' Matsu asked teasingly. Making the two kids blush.
"W…were just going as friends that's all." Said Wendy looking down.
Matsu let out a light chuckle. "Oh I'm just kidding, why so serious?"
The headmaster clapped his hands. "Alright well let's get this dance underway you two can change in the locker rooms, lets have some fun!" Said the headmaster.

The gymnasium where the dance was taking place was filled with students and some chaperones, illuminating with purple lights and many kinds of decorations. Balloons and gold star pennants all over creating a galaxy like theme to the room. The trio arrived inside in their dance attire, Zodie wore a purple paisley printed tuxedo jacket over a white button up shirt with a black tie, he wore black dress pants with purple shoes along with a purple tie with gold accents on it.
"Hey there he is." Said a familiar voice, the phoenix slayer looked smiling as he saw Abner walking over. He wore red slack pants with brown loafers along with a brown dress shirt with a black tail coat, a red bow tie and a black fedora. "Hey Ab looking good man nice hat." Zodie complimented. "Thanks Z man, my dad told me I'd get some compliments on it tonight." "Really how many you got so far?" "Just one and it was from you."
"Oi mates, how is it?" The boys look to see April and Juno coming over, April wore a burgundy floral dress with matching shoes and gold bracelet and hair tied in a ponytail. Juno wore a white button up shirt with a teal tuxedo jacket over it, she sported a burgundy tutu with black leggings and black boots. "Hey fellas glad you made it, crazy how you two are now celebrities here." Said April.
"Oh look at our girls all dressed up, it's so cute." Said a man walking over he was tall and muscular with brown eyes, tan skin and a heart shaped pompadour. He wore a crisp white tuxedo with a red collar and red tie and black shoes. His name is Zed, next to him was another man slightly shorter with darker skin and a full beard and a dreaded ponytail with glasses wearing a green chinese tunic with black pants and brown loafers, his name is Montero . These are April and Juno's dad's.
"Zodie meet my or rather our dad's." Said April. :They're here as chaperones." Said April.
Zed extended his hand smiling. "Oh your Zodie, good to meet you." Zodie smiled and shook his hand. "Likewise." Montero walked over grasping both the phoenix slayers hands. "Thank You so much for what you've done for our daughter, she has friends other than her sentient plant and now she's more confident." "Oh it was our pleasure."
"Oi Z man, where's Wendy she still getting ready?" Juno asked.
"Yeah Carla's helping her."
"Hey guy's." Called out Wendy. Zodie turned his head to his friend and was dazzled by the sight. Wendy was standing there in a silvery evening gown with black gloves that reached to the middle of her forearms and black slippers. Her hair tied in a ponytail. Looking shiny Zodie couldn't help but gawk at her; he wasn't sure what it was but something about her seemed endearing, he's known her his whole life but now he's seeing her differently. Abner noticed and grew concerned. "Uh Zodie you good." He began to wave his hand in his face before he was brought back to reality.
"Oh uh Wendy h…hey, you look cool yah totally cool." Said Zodie.
"Oh th…thanks you look good too." Wendy said blushing looking away."
Juno couldn't help but grin at this, Zodie wasn't the only one gawking, Wendy had gotten stares from other male students but Carla ended up clawing at them. April ended up breaking the awkwardness, well anyway let's have some fun.
"Yep night is young and so are all you." Zed said.
"Have fun but not too much where you get in trouble, but if you do, don't get caught." Said Zed chuckling.

The course of the evening was going great, many students and teachers were dancing and socializing with one another, Montero and Zed were telling super embarrassing stories about April which she wasn't too fond of. Meanwhile Zodie was chatting with Abner, both boys sipping on punch. "Dude so far multiple girls have already asked me to dance, I tell ya i 've become quite the ladies man. They can't get enough of my violin skills bro."
"Just let me call you lady killer from now on." Said Zodie.
"But what about you, I haven't seen you dance at all, you've been chowing down all night and talking, come on my friend shake that thang."
"W…well i'm not really the dancing type besides I don't wanna make myself look bad." Zodie said as he gulped down his kool aid. "Besides who would I dance with?"
"Oh I can think of someone." Said Abner smirking. Zodie knew right away what he was implying. "I…I…I…I need to use the toilet all this punch has got me nice and pissy!" Said the phoenix child as he made a b-line for the bathroom.
Not too far with the girls Wendy noticed that Zodie was gone. "Zodie just ran off. I hope he's okay."
"He probably just had too much punch and had to use the restroom." Carla said.
"Aw worried about your boyfriend there love." Said Juno making Wendy blush red. "W…what hey Zodie isn't my boyfri… look he's a boy who just happens to be my friend, my best friend." Juno couldn't help but laugh. "I…im gonna go um… powder my nose." The sky maiden made a b-line to the bathroom.
Abner walked over and joined the girls, all three smiling. "All according to plan." Said April.

After Zodie was finished with his business he was washing his hands in a nervous manner and splashing water in his face. "I don't know what it is but I feel like that ever since our little chat from the other night our friends are scheming in getting me and Wendy together, Abner I swear i'm gonna kick your ass after this." As Zodie opened the door to leave the bathroom he had the coincidence of running right into Wendy, the both of them slammed the door with their backs against the wall hiding from one another. After mustering up the courage to face one another they opened the door and walked up to each other.
"Eh…So having fun?" Zodie asked.
"Y…yeah how about you?"
"Good, I'm having a ball."
Suddenly the music began to change to a slow jazz number which frightened them both; they both knew what this meant; slow music meant two people would pair up to dance. Everyone on the dance floor was doing it leaving only the two fairy tail wizards left out. "S…so I guess we're supposed to y…you know." Stammered Zodie.
"Eh, y…yeah."
Not too far the Udenia trio watched not too far dancing with their respected partners. "Perfect time on the music Ab." Said Juno. Zodie and Wendy slowly walked closer towards one another.
"Well well well if it isn't the ones who stole my adoration of the school." Both Fairy tail wizards looked over to see it was none other than Ferdinand.
"Ferdinand you showed up not to be a fashion critique here but the robe is a bit out of date, it's rather obsolete." Said Zodie.
"Only thing that's going to be obsolete is you Mcknight!" He raised up the book and his army of demons soon started busting through; they were teal colored rabbit-like reptilian monsters with yellow eyes with lanky bodies. Teachers and chaperones all guarded the students including Juno and April dad's, "Kid's you all stay behind us grown ups." Said Zed suddenly he was lifted up by one of the demons hoisted him up and began to tear a ghostly plasm substance from his body and absorb it, Zed fell motionless to the floor.
"Oh my god Zed no!" Said Montero. Pretty soon the same thing began happening to all the other students and staff.
"Are you doing this?" Demanded Carla.
"Well it ends here." Zodie charged in right toward Ferdinand but was suddenly grabbed by a demon. "L…Let go!"
"Zodie no." Wendy went in to try and help her friend but she too was restrained by a demon.
"Do it now." The demons then started to tear out their souls too when they were interrupted by an attack. Abner with his violin sent out a strong sound wave hitting both demons causing both Zodis and Wendy soul to fly back randomly into their bodies but leaving them unconcious. "No!" Ferd let out angrily. "Well I'm not leaving here empty handed." He trapped Abner in clay and ordered his demon to carry Zodie out before he and the rest retreated.
The lights went back on and everybody was shaken up from the attack, perplexed from what just happened. "Abner you ok mate." Juno and April ran over to him and helped him out of the clay. "Yeah I'm fine you?" The girls looked down sadly. "No one of our dad's isn't waking up, we don't know what that thing did to him." Answered April.
"Those things took Zodie away and Wendy."
"WENDY!" Yelled Carla patting the sky maiden. "WENDY please wake up." The bluebette was dazed but was able to get to her feet with the help from April.
"Wendy you ok?" She asked.
"Uh, why're you guy's calling me Wendy?" The group looked at her confused. "I'm Zodie."
PT .2
"Uh ok Wendy not the time for joke's ok Zodie just got kidnapped!" Said April.
"I'm not joking it's me Zodie, and what do you mean I got kidnapped I'm right here." This drew even more confusion. "And where the heck is Wendy I hope she's okay, and why does my voice sound like a girls." The phoenix slayer looked down. "And why am I wearing a dress!?" He ran into the nearby bathroom and looked directly into the mirror and was shocked to see it was Wendy. He then let out an ear piercing girlish scream before running back out. "Oh my god I…im Wendy!"
"Yeah that's what we've been telling you girl." Said April.
"No wait, I think there's something more to this." Said Abner. "Hey Wendy or Zodie, tell me what'd you do to me when I tried to wake you up that one morning?"
"I punched you in the face."
"Holy crap Zodie it is you, you and Wendy switched bodies." Said Abner.
"What but how did this happen?" Carla asked, coming over.
"And what the heck was up with Ferdinand?" Asked April. "How was he controlling those creatures?"
"I think I might know."

The gang was now gathered in the library with Zodie/Wendy wearing a now wearing school tracksuit; though with Zodie being in Wnedy's body, April and Juno had to blind fold him.
"So Juno what's the deal you said you knew about what's going on." Said Abner.
Juno wrote on a sheet of paper a picture of the image that was on the book Ferdinand was holding. "I saw the book he was holding. It's called the daemon ritus."
"The daemon ritus?" Asked Abner.
"At first I thought it was just a rumor but that isn't the case now, I heard that many years ago demons used to inhabit this area until Udenia was built in. The demons were then sealed away but the holder of the book sealed his soul into the tome, waiting to reveal its power to a vengeful soul."
"So what you're saying is Ferdinand is being possessed and this is all about revenge against me for showing him!?" Zodie/Wendy asked peeved. "What an asshole!"
"Zodie please do not swear with Wendy's mouth please." Ordered Carla. "Anyway, what can we do, we have to find Wendy and get them back to normal."
"Along with the other students and staff who lost their souls." April said.
"If he acquires enough souls he'll be next to unstoppable to stop, we need to get that book; it'll have the key to fixing all of this." Said Juno.
"But how're we supposed to find them?" Asked Zodie.
"Wait a minute Zodie you're in Wendy's body now and she has a great sense of smell, try to pick up her, or rather your scent."
"I'll give it a try." The phoenix child began sniffing till he picked up a familiar scent. "Hey I got something I can smell the cologne Ichiya recommended to me."
"Awesome but what's the plan here? Ferd had an army with him and we'll be outnumbered." Said Abner.
"Abner my friend you forget who i'm friends with." Said Zodie/Wendy
Back at the fairy tail guild which was still open everyone was doing their usual thing Mira tending to the bar, Cana downing another barrel of alcohol and Natsu and Gray at each other's throats and Erza breaking them up. Suddenly the lacrima on the counter to the bar began to beep. It was an incoming message. "Hello, can anyone hear me." Mira went over to see that it was Wendy. "Oh Wendy hi how're you and Zodie enjoying yourselves?" "Ok this gonna sound weird but I'm not Wendy i'm Zodie." This brought over the attention of Natsu Gray and Erza.
"I'm sorry but can you run that by me again." Lucy asked, also walking up.
"L…l…l…Lucy." Said Abner who passed out just from hearing her voice."
"Anywho?" Here's the deal. Zodie/Wendy went into detail about what happened, Juno explained information about . "So the bottom line is we're in trouble and we could use some help."
Erza rose to her feet. "Consider it done Lucy Natsu and Gray you're all with me, Wendy ur…I mean Zodie you and the rest remain on stand by and wait for us to get there." With that the call ended. "Alright I'm all fired up I needed something to do, lets kick some demon butt!"

"I'm sorry but did red just tell us to wait, we can't just wait that numpty is out there taking souls we need to do soemthing that wankers got Wendy." Juno said.
"I agree normally I'm not one for rushing in without a plan but now we don't have a choice Wendy is in danger."
"Then it's obvious what we have to do!" Said Abner.
"Well if you're all going then count us all in." Said a voice from behind them. It was one of the students followed by various other students. "This is our school. You and Wendy helped save it a while back. Now we wanna return the favor."
"For WENDY!" Yelled the two boys who were fans of Wendy.
"Plus we worked our asses off for the dance and we're not gonna let pissenberg ruin it." Saying that nickname made everyone laugh, still tickled by that joke." But all jokes aside we all want in!"
Zodie/Wendy and his group all nodded in agreement. "Ok I happen to know how to find him but we'll need a plan first, so here's what we'll do."
…
Finally in the town nearby Ferdidnad and his army was laying waste to the area with Wendy/Zodie she had finally come to after blacking out she found herself trapped in a magic bubble she also realized that her hands were not her own they were Zodie's. "W…wha, how is this possible?"
"YOU IMBECILES." Yelling a miffed Ferdinand he had realized both Zodei and Wendy had swapped bodies because the demons got them mixed up. "You had one simple job, ONE SIMPLE JOB."
"Ferdinand?"
"Well he's awake, or rather she's awake."
"Why're you doing this, let me guess you do have some sort of score to settle with Zodie."
"Ding ding give this person a prize for the right answer."
"All of this because he showed you up, because you're not the big man on campus, you're a total…total doofus!"
"Well this Doofus has the perfect bait in his clutches, with you here there's no doubt your boyfriend will come running."
"Y…you're only right about one of those things and Zodie being my bo-." The sky dragon stopped herself not even being able to say it. "He and my friends are coming to help me!"
"Oh. IM PLANNIGN ON IT." Ferdinand spoke not sounding like himself. Which frightened her a bit. He then jumped to the top of a building and got the attention of his demon army. "REVENGE WILL SOON BE MINE, I AM-."
"Ferdinand Pissenberg."
"That's not my name dammit, I only pissed my pants once!" As Ferdinand looked to the source of the voice he could see Zodie/Wendy along with Abner Juno April and Carla. Carla everyone." Cried Wendy "Well what do ya know my plan worked and to think you were foolish to come here when you're outnumbered." Ferdinand snickers. "A knight in shining armor here to rescue his princess."
"Oh my god it's not like that!" Zodie said embarrassed.
"And we didn't come alone either, we brought our own army." Said Juno. Right behind them was the rest of the students and even staff members from the academy along with one of Aprils dad's. "Oh so you wanna go well then ATTACK." Both sides charged in at each other spells being thrown left and right all around. "We- oh I mean Zodie I'll fly you close to get to Wendy." Carla said.
"Well cover you, let's go." Said Abner. The udenia squad was making their way towards Ferdinad Bulby Aprils companion was beating down enemies left and right. Carla flew Zodie towards Ferdinand. "Ok Carla, launch me!" The white feline released him and he dived towards him but Ferdinand put up a green like barrier blocking him then a green glowing aurora surrounded his hands and pushed Zodie/Wendy back.
"Oh no Zodie I… I gotta do something." Wendy began banging her hands on the bubble when she noticed her hands were gone. "What the, oh right Zodie's invisibility, I have an idea."
Ferdinand was launching multiple blasts at Zodie who did his best to dodge them; he couldn't move like usual because of the body swap. Then an idea suddenly clicked in his head. "Wait I have access to her body; no I mean I'm in her body yeah that sounds less dirty, so I must have access to her magic."
"Face me Mcknight there's no delaying the inevitable." Ferd reached Zodie's hiding spot but was met with an unexpected surprise. "Sky Dragon roooar." Ferdinand was pushed back by the powerful gust of wind running right into the barrier he kept Wendy in face first. He opened his eye's and noticed she was gone. "What the hell, where'd she or he go?" He foolishly opened the barrier only to be met with a powerful slap followed by a kick to the face. Wendy/Zodie had reappeared, Carla came flying in grabbing her getting her to safety over with Zodie.
"Wendy, you're ok." Said the phoenix slayer as the two hugged each other before quickly remembering they were in each other's bodies." "So this is kind of bizarre isn't it?"
"Be weirded out later, we have more pressing matters!" Said Carla.
Ferdinand had recovered with a scowl on his face. "Alright that's it I've had enough besides I already have enough souls so-." Ferdinand began to convulse all over as he grabbed his head in pain. "But now it's my turn to finally take over."
Suddenly his body became enveloped in green light as his body and attire began to change. He grew taller and his attire changed to that of jet black robe-like attire with green accents running along them. His skin was now scaly(Not reptile scaly). "That foolish child has served his purpose long enough but now it's my turn."
"Wow Ferdinand.?" Juno showed up right next to the duo. "That isn't Ferdinand anymore, it's the spirit of the daemon ritus and they're using him as a host.
"Call me the Fiend King.'
"How're we gonna stop him?" Asked Zodie.
"Like I said we need to get that book and reverse suddenly they were covered in a green light and were pushed back onto a wall.
"As if I'd ever let that happen!"
"Oi take him down." Juno in her own demon form lunged at Fiend King with sharp claws but the foe dodged each blow before striking her in the back with a palm strike sending her into a nearby house.
"Sis!" Said April. The plant mage summoned vines from under the ground and wrapped them around Fiend king.
"Time to face the music." Abner strummed, sending a wave of sound towards Fiend king before he released an even larger wave of energy sending the group flying. Zodie unleashed a sky dragon roar. "Pathetic." Fiend King merely tapped the staff on the ground, sending out a wave negating the whirlwind and knocking Zodie/Wendy to his feet.
"How pitiful these are the fools this intolerant brat couldn't handle." Juno then came from behind putting the fiend king in a headlock. But he overpowered her, gripped her head and slammed on the ground. Then both Zodie and Wendy came running at Fiend King but found their bodies covered in green energy and were levitated off the ground. "This has been fun but I grow tired of this game and you're all becoming rather irksome to me." He then gripped the two by their heads squeezing them hard.
"Wendy Zodie no!" Carla shrieked.
The two child mages were able to reach into their pockets and pulled two familiar vials before tossing them right into Fiend King's face, it created a massive explosion making fiend kind release them and engulf their foe and the book daemon ritius too. "Nooo!" Fiend King reached for the burning book but he began to feel his own power diminish before he started to fade and soon restored itself to Ferdinands body. Not just that soon all souls from the book began to spiral all over before returning to their host's body including the students at the school. The army of demons soon began fading away as well; it was over and the town was saved.
"We did it, we stopped the demons." Abner April and Juno all joined in a group hug before noticing Zodie and Wendy unconscious on the ground. "Oh no we need to get back to the academy. Said April."
"Oh my head it feels like someone was squeezing it hard or something." Zodie began to rub his head before he was hit with a jolt of remembrance, he and Wnedy swapping bodies, the school under attack Ferdinand being an asshole. He inspected his own hands before running over to a mirror to see his own reflection in the mirror putting him at ease. "I'm back, I got my body back."
"It's about time you woke up with a sleepy head." Zodie turned around to see Happy along with Natsu and Gray.
"You're here, what happened?"
"Well after we arrived you and your buddies had already taken care of business then the magic council enforcement unit showed up and took away that Ferdinand kid." Happy explained.
"And Wendy is she ok?"
"Yeah Erza and Lucy are with her along with Carla." Said Natsu.
Suddenly Abner shot up from a nearby bed. "Lucy were."
"Oh and four eyes caught a glimpse of Lucy and lost consciousness," said Gray.
"Everyone else is alright and the headmaster here even put the party back on and even got you and Wendy new outfits for the event." Said Happy.
Few minutes later the dance was back on and everybody was enjoying the rest of the night, including team Natsu. The salamander was gorging on food and Gray made a comment about him resulting in them fighting, leading to Erza kicking them both out. Male students were perving on Lucy Happy was at table crying after he was turned down for dance with Carla. He wasn't alone. Abner was at the table too but he passed out after seeing Lucy.
Wendy and Zodie were left standing watching the party. "Well this has certainly been a dance to remember." Said Wendy.
"Yep… not every day an attack happens and we swap bodies." Said Zodie.
"Alright folks this has certainly been an unforgettable night, but now we're getting to the end of this dance." The announcer said from a lacrima mic. "For this last song we're gonna play it nice and slow, if you came with someone special to dance with them."
Both Zodie and Wendy could feel the sweat running down their backs. "S…slow dance." shrieked Wendy."
"U…um if you're not up t…to it we don't have to." Said Zodie.
Wendy began to blush and she grabbed Zodie's hand. She could feel he was sweating not because of temperature but because he was nervous. "I…I know but you did save my life so I want to return the favor."
"Oh well okay I… I mean I'm sure guy friends and gal friends do this stuff all the time, it's nothing more and nothing less right."
"R…right." Wendy uttered.
The two grabbed onto each other's hands and began to do a basic waltz as the music played. As they circle around other waltzers with their friends watching them. Happy perked up watching everything with a big fat grin on his face. "Ooh they love each other." Wendy with her dragon ears over heard this and grew tense with embarrassment. "Hey, something is wrong?" Zodie asked.
"N…not everything is good." Happies snickering came to an end when Carla hit him in the back of the head with a plate. The night continued with everyone dancing the night away full of happiness.
