Chp 14: The Resistance

"ARRRRGhhh." Byro watched as the dragon slayer struggled violently against the bars he gripped. It wasn't just him Zodie and Wendy were also there with him. The kid's still had their magic nullified as they had some of that sticky adhesive. A young man then walked in joining Byro, he had messy dark purple hair with one thick lock of white hair near the front right side; this was Hughes the captain of the third magic war division.

"So these are the earthland wizards causing us all the trouble huh, not totes what I was expecting."

"What the hell do you do with our friends!?" Asked a furious Natsu.

Hughes smirked at them. "Well the two hussies and that blue cat we had no use for him so we had them executed."

"Ragh!" Natsu went bonkers trying to break free as he was enraged after hearing the fate of his friends. "Bastard, if you touch any of them Lisanna Happy and Canna you're dead.!"

"As for that blue hair hottie she's joining her boyfriend, one of our enforcers is hoping to use her for getting information out of him."

"And Carla, where is she?" Asked Wendy.

"Oh well aren't you a cutie." Hughes begins pinching Wendy's cheeks much to her annoyance. "She's been brought to Extalia, but you shouldn't worry about that because you'll never see her again."

"Take your hands off her or I'm gonna break your wrist!" Zodie threatened.

Byro cackled. "Oh I Like that spirit boy, keep it up because you're going to need it.

"What'd you mean by her mission huh?" Asked an annoyed Natsu.

"In do time, in do time but first you're gonna need your rest for what I have planned for you." Byro held up an item releasing gas forcing the trio of wizards to fall asleep.

Edo Zodie laid fetal position in his dungeon when he was sprung up when the door of the cell was thrown open. "Hey wake up traitor got a surprise for ya, we brought you some company." Edo Zodie was dragged out and thrown on his knees.

"He…hey let me go!"

Edo Zodie shot up upon hearing the familiar voice, Edo Wendy was bought and put in front of him. Before they laid eyes on each other. "Oh my god Wendy."

"Z…Zodie." Both tried their best to reach for each other but Wendy was halted and placed on her knee, the bronze knight came walking in. "Well well well, isn't this lovely a reunion of two lovers." He walked towards Zodie and drew his weapon and held it against his neck.

"We couldn't get you to talk but maybe she will if she values your life, now then give us the location of your guild!"

Happy Canna and Lissanna were all being taken to the outskirts of the castle, Canna couldn't use her magic due to the weird sticky substance which didn't matter because the soldiers made sure to swipe her cards.

"So what're we gonna do with them?" One soldier asked.

"You heard the lady we dispose of them."

"Yeah but how I say we force them to tell us we're the rest of their guild is."

"Nah save that for the lady, it's her duty they don't call her the fairy hunter for nothing, besides I want the pleasure of getting rid of them myself, especially with all the trouble they cause us."

"Least you boys can do is buy us girls a drink first." Cana said in a teasingly flirtatious manner.

Soldier one grunted. "You're not my type, you reek of booze anyway, and not the good kind"

"Yeah like horse piss."

Canna got angry enough she kicked him in the chin which actually hurt him. He got mad and nicked her with his spear.

"Alright enough screwing around let's get this done already!" The trio were finally brought to their destination standing over the edge of a cliff.

"Oh man, I wish I could fly right now." Cried Happy.

"Don't feel so bad you'll join your precious fairy tail friends soon enough!"

The soldiers then guided them inching closer and closer towards the ledge til the soldiers felt themselves getting cold feet, literally. They looked down to see that their feet were now frozen in place by some ice.

One soldier flinched from the cold. "What the hell." They looked to see a slim figure with pale skin with goggles over their eyes. They wore a navy blue winter parka with white fur tufts along with white hair. They were holding a blaster which gave off a cold flare.

"Chikara strike." A Burly figure wearing eastern attire slammed their fist to the ground forcing it to crack and get closer and closer towards them making them fall off the ledge.

"You wanna live then come with us."

Brown eyes slowly opened up as Carla began to wake up from a large bed. "She looked to see that she was in a luxurious room.

"What is this place, where are Zodie and We-." She stopped and suddenly remembered last night's events. "That's right I…I led them into a trap, they took Wendy." She began to feel tears running down her face distraught how she couldn't do what she swore to do by keeping Wendy safe. Who knows what those monsters were going to do with her.

Carla is then interrupted as the door swung open revealing a pudgy yellow exceed. "Meow, well glad to see that you're awake, judging by your lovely lovely perfume you're the hero of Extalia, the one who finished her mission." Carla whipped her eyes to dry her tears and to make sure she wasn't seeing things, this exceed was in fact without a doubt Ichiya's doppelganger a talking cat like creature.

"You can't be Ichiya can you?" Carla asked.

"Oh no no my dear that name alone holds a horrendous perfume to it, my name is Nichiya."

The door behind him opened and in walked a black and white cat with an elongated neck. But the neck wasn't his most distinct feature, he kept pumping his fist. "Nice to meet ya the names Nabi now that introductions are out of the way come with immediate time you meet our ruler." Carla had no idea of what was going on but she figured it'd be a good idea to get the leg of the land while she was here.

In the royal Plaza filled with citizens and soldiers all ecstatic for the extraction that was being held tonight. As this was going on a hooded Gajeel and Juvia were making their way through the crowds.

Back with Happie's group they are led to an underpass and enter a sewer tunnel. "Where are we going?" Lisanna asked.

"To our hideout you'll be safe there." Spoke the first masked man.

The group stops at an elevator and they step inside, the elevator finally descends into a large area the size of a plaza with plenty of tents and living quarters for many citizens.

"Wow, what is this place?" Asked Happy.

"Welcome to the resistance." Spoke the white hair individual spoke removing their goggles only revealed to be a female; though she did have a very distinct appearance, she looked just like. "Lyon is that you?" Asked Happy.

"That must be the name of my earth-land doppelganger you're referring to to, the name's Leanne, my associate over here is somebody you probably already know."

The burly man was revealed to be Edolas Jura with the very same appearance except this doppelganger had a full head of hair. "Glad we got to you in time, now follow us, it's time you met our leader."

Lyon and Jura lead them to a large tent guarded by two individuals who allowed them in. "Boss, we're back and we brought some guests."

The rebel leader put down a mug of beer and turned to them revealing to be a woman in her early forties. She closely resembled Cana, only a little older looking. She wore navy blue tank top green long pants with boots and had a prosthetic left arm. Cana was shocked at the woman's appearance which didn't go unnoticed by Lisanna.

"Glad we found ya, names Cornelia welcome to W.A.T.T!"

"What." Lissana Happy and Cana said in unison.

"Not what, W.a.t.t, it's an acronym." Said Leanne. "Wizards against the throne."

"Oh, ok." They Said in unison.

"Yep, we're a resistance who are against the oppression of the king, not long ago some allies of yours were here, I believe their names were Gajeel and Juvia."

"Yeah exactly that's them, I forgot Gajeel's a dragon slayer so it makes sense he survived the anima to." Said Happy.

"And Juvia's here so that's great." Added Canna.

Happy stepped forward. "Cornelia do you think you can help us out, our friends were captured and all our other guildmates are trapped inside a giant lacrima."

"As we speak your friends Juvia and Gajeel are in the city ready to strike, Mystogan instructed them that only a dragon slayer can restore your guildmates to normal."

Happy was shocked. "You know Mystogan, man that guy really gets around."

"For real, ah crap!" Said Cana irritated. Wendy was with us when we saw it, she could've gotten our friends back at the time."

"We'll leave that to them right now. We need to save Natsu and the others, and we still need to find out where they took Carla."

"She's been taken to Extalia."

They turn to see a slim white female cat who's taller than Happy and resembles Carla a bit. She wore jaded swashbuckling attire with gray boots, green pants and purple tank top shirt.

Happy was confused. "Extalia what, who are you?"

"Shaggotte, and your friend was taken back to Extalia; it's the kingdom were exceeds live."

"I…am an exceed but hold on, why wasn't I brought with her, and how come I don't have any idea of the mission we were given, and what was the mission?"

"Well as for why I'm afraid I can't answer, but after what you've been through I guess you deserve to know."

We cut back over to Extalia where Nichia and Nadi were showing her the leg of the land; all around there were anthropomorphic cats or rather exceeds doing normal things you'd see humans do. Eventually they reached a castle.

"In our world the humans are inferior so it's up to us to keep them in check, our king governs them keeping them in their place, not just Edolas but earth-land also." Nadi explained. "He even gets to decide who lives and who dies, as you know we magic in Edolas is dwindling and it's the only way to preserve it for the ones he deems worthy of living."

"Impossible, how can one have that power?" Carla asked.

"Quite the contrary our king is a divine ruler, a god if you will." Nichiya said. "But things weren't always like that a while back the king's wife, our former queen was against this so she was banished, if she were to ever return she'd be executed."

To say Carla was disgusted was an understatement, what disgusted her even more was that she finally remembered her mission. "It's all coming back to me now, my mission was to eliminate Wendy."

Back with W.A.T.T The blue exceed was hit with the same shock as Carla just as she was tasked with eliminating Wendy, he was tasked to eliminate Natsu. "N…no…no it can't be." Tears came down his eyes as he grabbed his head.

"Well my dear you are half right it's not so much of you eliminating her, but more like her magic would be extracted." Nadi said. "See years ago hundred of eggs were sent to earth-land to find any and all dragon slayers and bring them here. "Their magic has the most magic potential."

"B…but all those times I protected Wendy from danger it was my own free will, are you saying that it was in accordance with your king." She spoke with tears.

"But of course you're a pawn in his cause."

"However even when they get their hands on dragon slayer magic it wasn't enough hence why anima was created to take all magic from your world." Shagotte explained. "When it comes down to it you had a hand in this."

Memories with fairy tail and being with Natsu began flowing through his mind, good bad saving him all those times when he needed them. "No…No way NO DAMN WAY." Happy was furious. "I'M NOBODY'S PAWN EVERY DECISION I'VE MADE WAS MINE TO KEEP MY FRIEND SAFE."

As the white exceed could only stay down on her knees she was suddenly brought out of her state when Nichiya and Nadi were both simultaneously hit with a boomerang knocking them over.

Carla looked stunned when suddenly a white exceed the size of a full grown man appeared. He wore red knee length shorts with brown gloves and a red bandana around his neck.

"Wh…who're you?"

"A friend, I'm gonna take you to your friends at my hideout." Carla was shocked with surprise. "They're at our hideout right now and the names Pip."

Back in the plaza, Edo Gajeel surveyed the area looking for the right position for his counterpart to strike; and he found it. He pulled out a device from his jacket and activated it sending up several sparks. 'N' 'O' 'R' 'T' 'H',

The army began dispersing and moving the crowd back till they noticed the cloaked figures. "Hey you two, clear the area that was under attack!"

"Gihi." The two then threw their cloaks off. "Water cyclone." Juvia sent a powerful circular torrent of water at the soldiers. " I can hold them back, do your thing Gajeel!"

The iron dragon made a large blade and made a big cut in the chunk of lacrima creating a blinding light. "Wow y…you gotta be kidding." He was able to make out two silhouettes from the bright light.

In the royal castle

Bronze knight still had his blade held at Edo Zodie. "Well you gonna talk or is he gonna join his fallen!"

Tears fell from Edo Wendy's eyes. "Ok I'll tell you please leave him alone." She begged. "I…in the desert,it's a five day walk from here."

The knight lifted the blade from Edo Zodie. "Well good, ok men get your ships and find the fairy tail guild, wipe them out!"

He then tossed her into the cell with him where she was bawling her eyes out. "I…I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

Her lover wrapped his arms around her and did all he could to comfort her, sniffing her lovely hair having not been able to for a while he missed it. "It's ok, everything is going to be ok." Even he couldn't be sure of that honestly he didn't see anyway out of this for himself or the guild

Zodie slowly began to regain consciousness but was alerted by familiar screams, they were Natsu's. He witnessed Byro using some weird device to extract their magic power. "Wendy, NATSU!"

"Oh good you're awake." Said Byro.

"Let them go now!"

"Afraid I cannot do that but let's not worry about that now because you're next, I must really thank those who have gone through all the trouble to bring you all here."

Wendy grew tears in her eye's. "No that can't be they'd never!"

"Believe what you want, it doesn't matter if the plan is going into motion." Byro activated the extractor but to his surprise nothing was happening. "What the hell." He looked over at Zodie who was glowing purple and the extraction machine not working. "Y…you're trying to resist impressive but it's futile, you can't fight it for very long."

Back in the W.A.T.T hideout Happy and his group were gearing up for the rescue mission when Pip arrived carrying Carla. No one was as happy to see her then Happy.

"Carla, your back." He raced over and hugged her while she remained motionless. Happy then noticed the larger cat behind her.

"Oi names pip. I'm an ally and a friend."

Shaggotte walked over to him. "Good work my boys were just about to launch our rescue mission. I was hoping you'd join them."

"Will do mom." Said Pip.

"I'm in." As the group began to leave Happy turned to see that Carla was still standing there.

"Carla what's wrong aren't you coming?"

"N…no I can't, I won't be joining you."

"You're not what!? Asked Cana.

Lisanna then cut in. "Look if you care about Wendy then this is your chance to go rescue her."

"That's just it I don't know if this love is my own form of free will or if anything I do is, I mean happy you must think the same right?"

"No not at all, Ms. Shaggotte told me of our mission, I realized that every action I made knowing Natsu and the others, it's evident that those emotions are your own free will, nobody was controlling me.! And even right now you feel bad about what happened Wendy needs you right now and you need her."

Carla's demeanor changed as she felt a small smile grow on her face then suddenly she began to feel the curse of magic running through her then it happened her wings sprouted, not just her but Happy as well.

"Then let's go get our friends back."

Boom, another chapter in Edolas is done so yeah you have met the resistance the W.A.T.T, two essential members Jura but with hair and Edolas Lyon/Leane. I sort of based her off of Captain Cold from dc comics and Jura's weapon the fist of Tebigong from xiaolin showdown. Also with their being a king of Edolas well that's my own little twist. Finally thanks yogaratw607 for the idea for Zodie. As for the leader of the resistance I figured I'd use Cana's mom because why not it's a good idea. Till next time peace.
