Hopeful Days V – Classmates

Makoto's night went as well as he expected.

He passed a good part of it just fixing his room until it was to his liking, which wasn't that hard, seeing that he never a room that was heavily decorated.

Once he finished with that, the brunette laid down on his bed and pulled his e-Handbook up.

He read the rules of the school over and over again, there are a lot of them and they are strangely worded, but he got the gist of it.

The most important stuff was the hours in which the school would open and close, that being at 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. respectively.

Once those hours are hit, the school would open or lock automatically and in case you got stuck inside, you could call one of the teachers using the handbook.

The other facilities that aren't the main school grounds had different hours in which they are available, like the library for example, which will open at 5:00 a.m. and close at 11:00 p.m.

Student workshops on the other hand, didn't had any automatic locking system, so it was the job of the students to choose their own workshop for the night.

There are a lot of different schedules that Makoto would have to keep in mind and he really wasn't feeling like memorizing them right now.

So the boy turned off his handbook, put it under his pillow and programmed a alarm for earlier the next day.

Laying back on the bed, Makoto looked at the ceiling.

"First night on Hope's Peak huh?" He smiled, before sighing and closing his eyes. "What a first day." The boy slowly felt his consciousness drifting away to the real of dreams.

Tomorrow was a brand new day and he would need all the energy he could get.

Makoto woke up just a little bit before his alarm.

Getting up from his bed, the brunette yawns and stretches.

He walks up to his window and opens it, letting the wind gently blow past him. A smile forms on his lips and he sighs happily.

Another day at Hope's Peak begins.

The lucky student opens his door and steps out, ready to go eat some breakfast at the cafeteria.

"Huh?" While turning around to lock his door, Makoto's gaze falls on his neighbor which was locking her door too.

Ikusaba Mukuro – Ultimate Soldier

Makoto knew who she was thanks to his research, but truthfully, that didn't help a lot. The only thing that he really could say he learned about her was that she is, or was, a mercenary.

The black-haired girl notices his staring and turns to face him.

The blinks slowly and feels his cheeks heat up.

She was pretty, like, surprisingly pretty.

For starters, she was very tall, had black hair in a stylish bob cut and had pale skin, which contrasted really well with the freckles on the bridge of her nose.

The Luckster was awestruck by just how, actually really pretty, the soldier was. The photos on the articles he read about her didn't do the Ultimate any justice.

Makoto is brought back to reality when Mukuro's purplish gray eyes blink, making the brunette notice that he was just staring at her face with his mouth agape this whole time.

"O-Oh, u-uh sorry." He apologizes with a small awkward laugh. His laugh dies when Mukuro doesn't say anything and just coldly stares at him, making the boy gulp. "U-Uh, g-good morning!" Makoto finishes locking up his room and walks up to the girl, extending his open hand towards her. "I'm Naegi Makoto, Ultimate Lucky Student." While still blushing a bit, the brunette tried to sound as friendly as he could after awkwardly gawking at Mukuro.

The black-haired girl looks down to his hand, then replies coldly. "Ikusaba Mukuro, Ultimate Soldier."

Laughing awkwardly, Makoto pulls his hand back and scratches the back of his head. "I-I guess we're gonna be neighbors h-huh?"

"It seems so." The soldier replies, still with the same tone. "Do you need anything?" She asks and he shakes his head. "Then if you excuse me." Without any more words, Mukuro turns around and starts walking away.

"S-Sure, u-uh, see you l-later!" Makoto says and the girl doesn't even look back at him.

The brunette watches as the girl turns a makes her way towards the stairs and disappears, he then sighs and starts making his way downstairs too.

While he was tired last night, Makoto didn't stop to actually appreciate the Hope's Peak dormitory.

It was a spacious three floors house, with a kitchen, a living room and six rooms on each floor and even a door that lead to a fairly large backyard.

Couches, beds, chairs, all the furniture really, was of the highest quality possible. It reminded him of Tsumugi's house.

After getting downstairs, Makoto catches a glimpse of the front door of the dorm closing, presumably by Mukuro going outside.

Not wasting any time, the brunette walks down to the first floor and goes towards the kitchen. "Oh, uh-" He stops at the entrance once he notices someone already inside. "Good morning, Towa-san."

Turning her head to face him, the green-haired girl smirks, before turning her wheelchair. "Good morning to you too… Naegi-kun? Isn't it?" He nods and she clasps her hands together, before bowing politely.

Instinctively, Makoko does the same and she giggles.

"I didn't took you for a early bird, Naegi-kun?" Monaca says watching him lift his head once again.

"U-Uh, normally I'm not, I just happened to wake up earlier than usual" He explains with a slight stutter in his voice.

The brunette was nervous and really, could anyone blame him? He was speaking to a Towa. Her family owned half of the country at this point.

Noticing his nervousness, Monaca giggles to herself. "I see." She smiles and continues. "I take you're here for some breakfast?" Makoto nods. "Well, I was just going to make some scrambled eggs, would you like some?"

Makoto makes a surprised expression. "U-Uh, yeah, of course." She giggles at his nervousness once again and the boy blushes before making his way to the table on the center of the room.

Monaca turns around and moves her wheelchair towards the fridge, opening it, she grabs some eggs and then moves towards the stove.

She didn't seem to have any problems making the breakfast, and also seemed friendly enough.

The mocking tone that the boy heard the day before was completely gone and she sounded sweet and kind. Maybe her hostility was only towards the Ultimate Heiress?

"Here you go." The brunette thoughts are interrupted by the greenette sliding a plate in front of him. "I'm not used to cooking, but I think that's edible." She jokes, before moving her wheelchair to the other side of the table.

Makoto smiles, now feeling a bit less awkward around the girl. "Don't worry about that, I'm not picky when it comes to food."

"Glad to hear it." Monaca giggles and the two start eating.

While it wasn't the most delicious scrambled eggs Makoto ever had, it was not bad, especially for someone that said she wasn't used to cooking before.

As the two Ultimates had breakfast, they started talking about random stuff and soon Makoto's previous awkwardness starts to disappear.

The robotic engineer herself was quite surprised by the Luckster, normally it would take hours for people to relax around her, if they even kept talking for that long, but in just some minutes, he was already treating her like any other person.

' Is he stupid or socially adept?' The green-haired Ultimate giggles to herself, whatever he was, the Luckster certainly picked her curiosity. "Say Naegi-kun? Where are you going after breaking?"

The brunette gulps down another bite of his scrambled eggs and smiles. "I was thinking of exploring some more, I didn't see everything yesterday."

He properly swallowed his food before talking. ' Extra points for being polite~' Thinks the greenette with a small smirk. "May I accompany? If it isn't any trouble, of course?"

Makoto closes his eyes and smiles. "Sure I don't mind, it better to explore around with frie-" He stops himself before finishing his phrase and blushes slightly. "-c-classmates."

Seeing him blush brought a smirk to Monaca's face.

"Thank you Naegi-kun, you're too kind." The two finish their breakfast soon after and the boy picks both their plates and puts them on the sink. "Shall we?" She ask smiling.

Makoto nods. "Yeah!"

With that, the two Ultimate made their way out of the dorm.

Once again, sorry for the wait, I just had some stuff going on and couldn't find time to write.Well, Mukuro got officially introduced, I'm quite excited to explore her character, I have some pretty interesting plans for her in the future.Anyways, hope y'all liked the chapter and see you around!
