Joffrey

Joffrey was thrilled that his clever plan had managed to kill Stannis. However, he had to admit to himself that if it weren't for Grandpa Tywin's help, the capital would still be in danger. Tywin, in his glory and fame, was an immortal Lannister, someone who will always be a symbol of the house. On the one hand, the king was proud that he was his grandfather, on the other hand, he was irritated by the fact that he was not yet as worshiped as Tywin. When his grandfather rode into town, crowds of people cheered. However, he built his glory and power over the years and sacrificed everything he could to reach the top. It's not like being king is enough. His mother once told him that because he was the king's son, people would give him everything. However, the reality quickly turned out to be different and he knew perfectly well how people looked at him: a young, inexperienced king who had to fight with his people so that they would not rule behind his back. He could use his authority in the form of power and army, but he had to learn how to play on the chessboard. Unfortunately, ruling the kingdom wasn't as simple as tormenting the people. What had to be done to maintain real power included several factors. Joffrey knew that his mother thought the same, but she wanted to keep this part of the power for herself. However, she was neither as clever nor as intelligent as she thought.

Joffrey knew that his mother, like many women, used her body to achieve her goals. Joffrey was disgusted by this, but it didn't bother him until he read the letter. Still, his intuition told him it might be true. He had heard these rumors for a long time and in truth he and his siblings were nothing like King Robert, he wanted to hear the whole truth from his mother. He couldn't bear it calmly, he felt like he would explode with great anger and throw her into the dungeons for her stupidity, he wasn't sure if it wouldn't be better to do it later.. The second thing is that it would be unwise and public opinion would start to have a bad opinion of him. Either way, he could have sent her somewhere and made her fade into the background. After distributing gifts to the great lords for their help in battle, bestowing honors on them, and ordering the heads of Stannis and his henchmen to be impaled on stakes, he went to his mother's chamber. Cersei sat alone, drinking wine and straightening her curls as usual.

-Come in-she said.

The king entered his mother's room without even greeting her. She reacted with surprise.

-Hello, Joffrey. Thank the gods, Stannis is no longer a threat to us. I was so scared, Joffrey grabbed her chin.

-Tell me what it is, woman... What have you done? – he said and to her surprise he took a small note out of his pocket.

Cersei quickly looked through the contents and almost fainted from fear.

Joffrey, it's… she tried to explain, sighing heavily until she calmed down.

- This is a lie and disgusting slander. Lord Stannis..- she tried to explain further.

- My man found this in his papers. Are you saying that Stannis wrote this himself? – he asked, almost sure of the answer, and grabbed her hair.

-Joffrey, you must be crazy. Let me go right now- Cersei shouted.

-Is Uncle Jaimie my father? Answer me!-

Cersei looked at him, honestly stunned by his behavior. Joffrey's anger was like that of a beast. His eyes were trained on her as if he was about to stab her.

-No...he isn't- Joffrey grabbed Cersei's hand.

-You're talking nonsense, you're putting us at risk, I could lose everything because of you. You have too many lovers. - Joffrey mocked.

-Joff, that's a lie, you know it- Cersei defended herself.

-I honestly don't care,-Joffrey drawled. -I don't want you to ever admit what the truth is, you never wrote anything to him in your letters that would confirm the truth.

-It's just...- Cersei stubbornly defended herself.

-Listen to my orders, or I'll have you exiled - Joffrey said nervously.

Honestly, he didn't care who his father was anymore. Robert never loved him, even if Joffrey became exactly what he wanted him to be, Jaimie never cared much for him. Paternity doesn't matter. The only thing that mattered was the kingdom, but his name was to remain intact and the facts were to be adjusted to suit the needs. People must remain silent, and even if they speak, they will soon understand that this is just an excuse to deprive him of the throne. As long as Cersei stops flaunting her stupidity. He didn't want anything to do with drunk Robert and his pussy uncle anymore.

-You won't dare- Cersei shouted, also taking on the face of a beast. She didn't want Joffrey to take too much liberties and wanted him to bitterly regret his mistake.

He looked at her indifferently.

-I don't want anything to hear from you until the end of the week.

Cersei had tears in her eyes and quickly transformed from a mad lioness into a doe.

-Joffrey, I did everything for you, you can't - she grabbed his hand and he quickly pushed her away.

-Get out of here!- he shouted and called the guards.

-Joffrey, I want to talk to you - Cersei shouted and started cursing the guards, then looked expectantly at Joffrey, but he turned his back to her. His mother wasn't helping, he was fed up with her and the way she ruled, making everything difficult for him, and now she was the best proof of it. He was disgusted by her behavior. For a moment he wondered why Jaimie had never approached him even though he was his father. After all, it wasn't just about suspicion, as his uncle spent a lot of time with him. It occurred to Joffrey that his mother was doing everything in her power to cut him off from his father and become the central figure in his life. However, he quickly sensed her selfishness. He also wondered how depraved you had to be to sleep with your siblings, and he drank the rest of the wine, throwing the glass on the floor. The object fell and was damaged, breaking into pieces. He never wanted to drink the wine that had made his mother and father unconscious in the past.

A few days later.

When Lannister soldiers found Stannis' body, Tywin had it brought to the capital as a trophy. After all this, he was beheaded and impaled on the walls of the Red Keep. The rest of the body was burned and placed in an urn. Joffrey wondered what to do with Renly, he could send soldiers to him and just kill him or do whatever he wanted with him, or he could just as easily let him go because even if he joined their enemies, his army and forces would be too small. Nevertheless, he had to be disposed of sooner or later, but Tywin decided to do nothing for now. Joffrey looked at Stannis' head with satisfaction several times, realizing what a big mistake he had made in attacking the capital. He hated him with all his heart, and now that there was a good chance they weren't even family, he despised him as much as he despised Ned Stark. He watched as flies pecked at his eyes and his skin became greener and greener. He often came to look at his enemy until his image was almost difficult to recognize. Joff also had several of Stannis' henchmen executed and knew full well that the only head missing was Renly's. He once promised Sansa that Robb Stark's head would also be among them, but honestly, he had a completely different plan. He wanted to tear Robb apart with a horse and make Sansa watch. Lately, he had started thinking about what a pointless idea it would be to marry a Stark girl.

He had several better options to choose from, in his opinion, and he argued with his family about it, although it seemed to him that Grandpa Tywin somewhat agreed with him and was considering it himself. Joffrey believed that Sansa did not deserve to be the queen of the seven kingdoms and was honestly not fit for it. She was weak, naive, and always sad. Even though she smiled and said beautiful words, everything was boring and rote. He also hated what she was causing to him. He felt like the ice was melting inside him and he felt some kind of attachment to her, even though he honestly despised her. He hated that he couldn't sleep some nights without her and was constantly thinking about her instead of taking whores. It wasn't like he cared about her well-being, but he felt somewhat dependent on didn't want to feel anything like an addiction to anything or anyone, especially a girl like Sansa whose family had dared to oppose him. He thought about throwing Sansa out of the kingdom, which of course was stupid, marrying her off to someone like his uncle, thus humiliating her and forgetting about her, but he decided he didn't want to get rid of such a valuable toy, especially when he hadn't tested all possible methods for pleasant nights with her yet. A few days ago, he was eating dinner with his mother and brother when Sansa smiled innocently at him.

Joffrey chose to ignore her and simply gave her a scolding look, and she seemed to be saddened and withdrawn. The king did not want his fiancée to think that she was occupying his thoughts. He also saw his mother's eyes and he didn't want her to think that he was in any way dependent on this stupid girl. Was Sansa Stark really as stupid as Cersei claimed? He didn't know, but she wasn't a realist definitely and had only recently realized what reality was. No one taught her how to be a real lady, just a polite doe. Sansa was too polite and that was the reason she couldn't become queen. Joffrey may have liked her like that in the bedroom, but in marriage, he had to be with someone else. A well-mannered, wise, and sociable woman who will rule the kingdom with him and at the same time appreciate his potential as a ruler very well. His future wife also had to come from a good family and not raise any suspicions. Joffrey was bored that day and ordered one of his advisors to bring him portraits of the most beautiful ladies from wealthy families in Westeros. He wanted to meet potential candidates for his wife. His attention was immediately caught by Arianne Martell. Tall, slim, full-figured, oriental-looking, and, as rumors had it, also passionate in bed.

However, he was wondering whether it was worth having another alliance with Dorne since his sister Myrcella was to be married to Prince Trystane. However, he looked with great curiosity at the portrait of Arianne, who charmed him with her femininity and large, full lips. Then he thought of the other woman in the second portrait, Mace Tyrell's cousin. Slim, petite, and red-haired, a bit like Sansa. He also looked at other candidates for a long time, but honestly, he knew that only these two houses were worth arranging a marriage. The Martells were a good option, and the Tyrell cousin was also a good option... but currently, the Tyrells supported Renly even though he was a loser. Joffrey, however, knew that they would be happy to marry this woman to him, but there was no telling what could be expected from such traitors. What would support for the king on the one hand, and his uncle, who openly opposes him, look like on the other? This wasn't a good idea at the moment. Joffrey thought of Arianne, although he knew perfectly well that it was better to have allies in different parts of the world. But when the servants took away the women's portraits, he started thinking about Sansa again. He was wondering whether it would be worth keeping her as his official mistress or giving her as a wife for his uncle. However, he didn't really want such a disgusting pest as his uncle to ever touch Sansa, who was his property. Although political wisdom provided a clear answer, Joff was never going to give up his Sansa. In fact, he would rather she died.

To be continued.
