Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN PERCY JACKSON!
Percy groaned as Atlas's spear slammed onto his back knocking him to the ground. He had made a massive mistake challenging Atlas to a fight. Thalia was locked spear against sword in combat with Luke. Annabeth and Zoe were lying unconscious together knocked out by a lucky strike by Atlas. This led to Percy being the only one who could combat Atlas and free Artemis from the sky.
"Is this all the mighty Perseus Jackson has to offer? I shall relish making you watch as I kill your friends and bring Olympus to its knees!" Atlas boomed as he stood over the downed hero. Then he turned to the goddess still stuck under the sky. "And you my dear shall be the first of my many spoils of war."
Hearing this Percy tried to stand only to be crushed when Atlas's massive boot landed on his back, pushing him back to the ground. Percy screamed as the pressure increased until he could feel his ribs break under the strain. He screamed again as he felt some his ribs begin to cave in impaling his organs. Finally, Atlas took his foot off of Percy and began to walk towards the captive goddess leaving the demigod to bleed out from his injuries.
Percy lay there as his vision slowly began to turn black. He watched as Luke threw Thalia to the ground holding his sword to her throat. He saw the monsters surround Zoe and Annabeth's unconscious bodies, clearly looking forward to the effortless meal. But his vision narrowed on Artemis as Atlas began to stroke her face and grope her. He watched as Artemis recoiled from his touch but couldn't escape because of the sky. But what really set him off was when Atlas bent down and forcefully kissed Artemis. An overwhelming rage grew within him as he watched Atlas kiss her. Suddenly he wasn't on top of Mount Othrys. He was in a black void filled with stars all around him.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" a voice said from behind him. Percy whirled around Riptide held defensively in front of him. There standing behind him was a tall man who appeared to be around 18. He had dark brown hair and was dressed in jeans and a black muscle shirt. But what really drew Percy's attention was his eyes. They were pitch black with what appeared to be stars in them forming what looked like a galaxy.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Came the questions from Percy who had yet to lower his sword.
"Ah yes, silly me forgetting to introduce myself. My name is Chaos, the Creator of the Universe. As for where you, are you are currently inside of my domain." Percy's jaw dropped as he took in what Chaos had just said. He immediately lowered his sword and bowed before the Creator.
"I am sorry my Lord I meant no disrespect. Please forgive me." Percy asked. He was shocked when instead of a reply he felt Chaos grab his shoulder and pull him back into a standing position.
"No need for that Perseus. I am not like my great grandchildren. If anything, I should be bowing to you." Chaos said further astounding and confusing Percy.
"Um, Lord Chaos what do you mean you should be bowing to me? I haven't really done anything." Percy asked him. In front of Percy's eyes Chaos seemed to age. He still looked like an 18-year-old, but his eyes seemed to be weary and tired.
"Allow me to tell you a story. Billions of years ago I came into being. I was content for a while by my self in the void that was space. However, as time passed, I began to become lonely and so I created the Universe. I filled it with planets and stars each painstakingly made by me. This took a long while and I was excited when I finished. However, it seemed something was missing. I pondered over it for a few millennia before it hit me. I had built this whole universe, but I was still alone in it, and so I headed back to the first planet I had made and my personal favorite, Earth. I decided to give it life and name it Gaea, known to you as Mother Earth.
She was the first of my "children" I called the Primordials, and so, content now that I wasn't alone in the Universe I sat back and watched as they fell in love and had their own children, the Titans. I instantly loved and was proud. It's not every day you have Grandchildren you know. Then the Titans made humans and suddenly my world was full of life! Everyone was so happy, and the world was a paradise, then something changed. My daughter Gaea became jealous of her husband Ouranos, Primordial of the sky. She turned my beloved grandchildren against their father. I was forced to watch as they murdered my son, their father and spread his essence so thin that it would be impossible for him to ever reform.
Then the Titan's began to rule Earth with an iron fist. They hunted the humans for sport and used them for slave labor. Eventually my grandchildren had their first child, Hestia goddess of the Hearth. I could immediately sense that the world was going to change for the better. Kronos the King of the Titans became paranoid and went to the Three Fates who gave him a prophecy. During this visit he learned that his children would one day overthrow him and take his throne. Once again, I was forced to watch as the Titans tore apart their own family in an effort to grab more power. However, this time I decided that I wasn't just going to sit back and watch. So, when Kronos went back to his palace and swallowed Hestia, I protected her from her father's godly stomach. I gave her a protector, someone to befriend her and protect her from her father. I bestowed similar protection minus the Protector on her other four siblings when they joined her.
Finally, Kronos's final child was born. But his wife Rhea unable to watch another of her children get swallowed replaced him with rocks. She then ran and gave him to Gaea to raise. Eventually Zeus became old enough to sneak into Kronos's palace and give him a special concoction that caused him to hurl up his siblings. They became known as the gods and eventually overthrew the Titans. For a long time after that everything was fine, but then the gods began to become detached from the world. Except for a select handful the rest decided to rule them and treat them as inferior, and that leads us up to our current situation." Percy's head swam with all of the information that he had just been told. However, one thought came to the front of his mind.
"What happened to Hestia's protector?" Percy asked curiously. Suddenly Chaos's eyes seemed to gleam.
"I wondered if you would pick up on that. You see inside of Kronos's stomach Hestia and the Protector had grown quite close, closer than I had anticipated. In fact, to the point where they practically… Oh what's the word you humans use? Ah yes, dating. They had begun to date or as close as you could while being trapped in a stomach. And as the other gods joined them one by one, he became like a big brother to them. Someone they could look up to during the dark times. So, when Zeus caused his father to barf his siblings up the Protector came out with them. He was the only reason they even were able to initially escape Mount Othrys. He was one of the most valuable and powerful combatants of the whole war.
However, after the war Zeus jealous of his power and the love his siblings had for the Protector, locked away all memories of him from the other gods and killed him. I saw though that he would be needed in the future and that he would play an important role in the world. But he needed sometime to regain his power and to grow it so he could properly protect those precious to him. As I was thinking this, I realized that what had started out as my creation had quickly become my favored child. So, as he rested and regained his powers, I bestowed upon him a large portion of my power and some traits that I deemed helpful. I foresaw that the time for him to come back was rapidly approaching. I also saw that the tasks set before him would be impossible on his own. This led to me talking to my daughter Ananke and my granddaughters the Fates. They told me that without his soulmates he would never be able to right the wrongs that had occurred in the world. Does that answer your question?"
"Yes, but it also makes me wonder why I'm here and why you're telling me all of this." Percy replied. Chaos just smiled before reaching out and tapping Percy's forehead. It felt to Percy like a wall that he didn't know even know existed broke. Suddenly Percy remembered everything, from falling in love with Hestia and Artemis to fighting alongside the gods to Zeus bragging to him about what he had done. He stood there for a moment as the memories of his previous life assimilated with his current one. Unexpectedly he felt his thoughts sharpen and his memories become clear. His face morphed into one of panic as he remembered the confrontation on the mountain.
"Lord Chaos, you must send me back, my friends are in danger!" Percy shouted at Chaos.
"Don't worry my son. One year here is a second out there. Your friends are exactly as you left them, and please call me father or dad. Lord Chaos makes me feel old." Chaos stated confidently before switching to a slightly whiny voice at the end. Percy visibly relaxed before nodding.
"I am about to send you back Percy. It will be a while until I see you again. Take care of yourself, right my mistakes, and remember you have people who are there for you." Chaos said with tears in his eyes. "And remember above all, no matter what I'm proud of you."
