Artemis watched in shock as that idiot boy Perseus challenged Atlas to a fight. She had to admit her respect grew for him when he did that. It took a massive amount of stupidity or incredible bravery to challenge a Titan let alone the Titan of Strength. She cried out when she saw her loyal lieutenant get hit by a lucky strike from Atlas. After Zoe was knocked out of the fight the tide swiftly turned to Atlas's side. Finally, Atlas seemed to get tired of beating him up and began to taunt Percy.
"Is this all the mighty Perseus Jackson has to offer? I shall relish making you watch as I kill your friends and bring Olympus to its knees!" Atlas boomed as he stood over the downed hero. Then he turned to the goddess still stuck under the sky. "And you my dear shall be the first of my many spoils of war."
Artemis bristled at these words but was helpless to watch as Atlas began to make his way towards her. She felt a little hope when it looked like Perseus was getting back up but that was fleeting as Atlas crushed his chest with his boot. After a minute Atlas took his boot off of Perseus's chest leaving a visible indentation as he laid on the floor. She watched as Atlas came over and began to stroke her face and feel her up. She was disgusted but couldn't do anything because of the sky. Atlas grabbed her face forcing her to look at him as he lowered his face down to kiss her. Just when his lips were about to kiss her, she lunged forward and bit his nose. Atlas recoiled from the pain and held his nose before turning to her in anger.
"You, how dare you treat your master like that!" Atlas screamed in anger. Artemis just smiled showing off her ichor-stained teeth. Atlas slapped her face, but she just turned back and smiled. Atlas wound back to hit her again, but was stopped when he felt an immense power appear behind him. He turned around to see a blinding light was coming from the downed body of Perseus. It steadily grew until it had grown to the point that no-one could look at it. Unexpectedly an invisible wave of power spread out from the light throwing Luke off of the mountain, knocking Atlas away from Artemis, and disintegrating the monsters that surrounded Zoe and Annabeth. Abruptly the blinding light filling the mountain died down. There standing where the dead body of Perseus should have been a perfectly healthy man. It was clearly Perseus, but he seemed to have grown. He was now around '6 "4 and had filled out his shirt. Where it was once baggy and loose it now seemed to strain under the pressure of his physique. However, it was his eyes that had really changed. He still had sea green iris's but, in the center, where his pupil's would normally be appeared to be a collection of stars. Artemis was broken from her observations by Atlas's voice. It appeared to be filled with, fear?
"No! How can you be here. Zeus killed you!" Atlas shouted with fear in his eyes.
"He did however, my father in his infinite wisdom decided to save me. I was allowed to rest and regain my power. You forced my return when you kidnapped and imprisoned Artemis, and for that you shall pay." Percy said before he rocketed forward, landing a savage hook on Atlas's jaw. The titan flew back slamming into one of the massive pillars. He shakily stood before regaining his bearing and rushing Percy again. This time Percy just sidestepped him before slamming his elbow onto the back of his neck. Even Artemis winced at the savage crunch the resulted from it. Then he grabbed Atlas by the back of his armor and threw him straight at Artemis. Unprepared the massive Titan knocked her out from under the sky sending her rolling across the floor.
"No! No! Curse you Percy Jackson, I will remember this! I will kill you!" Atlas shouted after he had repositioned himself.
Percy just looked at him but once again everyone's attention was captured when the Three Fates flashed in. They all looked at Percy before beginning to speak as one.
"All hail, Perseus Jackson, Beloved of Hestia and Artemis, Son of Chaos, God of Loyalty, Hero's, Destruction, Swordsmanship, Primordial god of Time, and the 13th Olympian." They then bowed to him before flashing away. Percy glowed again as he was given his domains. The glow quickly disappeared, and he felt a sudden influx of knowledge in his mind as he got the knowledge of his powers. He suddenly became acutely aware of the conditions of the demigods around him. He could see that Annabeth was fine, but he became alarmed when he felt how injured Zoe was. He quickly ran over and kneeled next to her while pulling off her silver parka. Percy involuntarily winced when he saw the wound. Ladon had gotten her pretty good. The poison had already spread throughout her body. Honestly, he was impressed that she had managed to survive this long.
"No, no, no, you are not going to die on me now!" Percy panicked as he placed his hand over her wound. He began channeling some of his power through his hand and into her wound. He watched as the power spread through her veins, causing her to glow as it flowed through her, burning the poison away and allowing Artemis's blessing to begin to heal her. After waiting several seconds to ensure that she would be alright, he fell back on his butt. He yelped when a silver fletched arrow sprouted between his leg's inches away from his crotch. He gingerly grabbed the arrow and removed it from the floor before standing and turning to face the inevitably irate goddess. He gulped when he saw her face, memories of previous times he had faced this flashing unbidden through his mind.
"What do you think you are doing with my Lieutenant boy?" Artemis hissed through her teeth. Percy just stepped to the side and gestured for her to look at Zoe. Artemis looked at him distrustfully before kneeling next to her Lieutenant and performing a quick scan. She gasped in shock as she felt the residue of Ladon's venom get destroyed by Percy's godly essence. She looked at Percy in disbelief and winced as she seemed to get a migraine instantaneously. She tensed as she felt his hands touch her temples, however she relaxed when a soothing warmth spread from the contact. She felt the warmth spread throughout her mind soothing the migraine. Percy frowned though when his power was stopped by what seemed to be a mental barrier.
'This I probably where Zeus locked up the memories.' Percy thought as he withdrew his power and sharpened it into a point. He forced it forward busting straight through the block. Artemis started to shake and scream as the memories burst forward replacing all of the false ones implanted into her mind. Percy quickly gathered her up into his arms and sat there rocking her as his power helped her to assimilate the memories faster. Ten minutes later Artemis stopped shaking and laid still in Percy's arms. If it wasn't for the fact that Percy could see her chest rising and falling, he would be worried she had died. Artemis groaned as she started to regain consciousness. When she opened her eyes, she found herself staring into Percy's sea green ones. She was taken aback by the look of love and adoration that filled them.
"Nice to see you're finally up Moon Beam." Percy said as he shifted her. Suddenly Artemis was acutely aware of where she was. She was laying across Percy's lap with her head propped up against his shoulder. Artemis decided that she liked it there and that she was going to be sitting there as often as possible. She allowed herself to bask in the comfort of Percy's presence for a moment before she remembered Hestia and what her father had done to her and the other gods. Her aura erupted from her as she entered her true form in her rage. Only Percy's quick thinking saved the demigods from being vaporized. He flashed them to Olympus while he stayed with Artemis to help her calm down. Percy gently turned Artemis's head to face him.
"Arty you need to calm down, your father will pay for what he did. But if you keep going you are going to collapse the mountain." His words seemed to reach her as the glow gradually decreased until she was back to normal. She looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"How can you be so calm about this? He took millennia from us. You, me, and Hestia could have been together all this time." Here her voice dropped to just above a whisper. "We could have had a family by now."
Percy gently cupped her chin and raised her head to look at him again. She was shocked to see the anger that resided in the green orbs.
"Your father will pay; I promise you that. However right now you are distraught and that matters more to me than revenge. Now I believe we need to get to the solstice meeting. Don't worry my love everything will be solved by the end of the meeting. Please trust me." Percy asked her as he picked her up bridal style before bending down and kissing her. As his lips made contact with hers a bright light engulfed the mountain top. Artemis gasped into it as she felt her power almost double. When Percy pulled away several seconds later Artemis's tears had stopped, and her eyes were closed in bliss. She opened them again to see Percy gazing at her lovingly. Once Percy had sure that she had calmed down, He set her down and they separated, still holding hands.
"Are you ready?" Percy asked warily. He was met with a resolute nod, before flashing them both to the Olympus Throne Room.
