These chapters (33 to 36) were written first and guided the whole story about the diaries of Lily Evans and Magical Null Space. Then we'll get to what happens afterwards and in winter and spring terms 1996.

The previously published '33. Trial' chapter comes after these chapters. Apologies.

35 Azkaban / 19 December 1995

On Tuesday, Harry ate breakfast and then spent the morning in the library researching the laws governing Gringotts and the responsibilities the goblins and wizards owed each other by treaty. It was very strange when Professor Flitwick appeared in the library and spent several minutes talking with the few students studying at the tables. Eventually the diminutive professor made his way to the table where Harry studied.

Harry decided that Flitwick was at worst a spy for Dumbledore and at best a scout. He would say nothing and allow the man to gather some information.

When asked about his choice in reading materials, Harry replied honestly, "Professor Binns assigned us a report on one of the two biggest goblin rebellions. I'm interested in Goblin War of 1649 because there haven't been any big rebellions since then. The peace treaty has forced the two sides to coexist."

Flitwick smiled and said, "Have you read the details of the treaty?"

"Not yet."

"Pay close attention to the name Henry Fleamont in the chapters about the treaty. And look up the wizard's role in the Treaty of Separation between the muggles and wizards. Henry Fleamont was not popular with the king – Charles, James or something – but Fleamont negotiated the treaty that created Magical Britain."

"Why should I investigate this wizard?" asked Harry with his Occlumency shields in place, protecting his facial expression.

"He was your ancestor!" Filius explained. "Your grandfather Fleamont Potter was named for him by his mother who was the last Fleamont."

"My grandfather?" the student asked, as if very confused.

"Yes, Mr Potter, you had grandparents here in Magical Britain. Your father's family began as wizards in Britian before the Romans arrived with goblins and wands. James Potter was very proud of his ancestry."

Determined not to lash out about person's hiding family information from him for his entire life and realizing now why there weren't any books about his direct ancestors in the library, Harry replied, "That was a long time ago, Professor. I guess it's not as interesting as I thought it might be."

Surprised by the teenager's response, Flitwick caught the guarded look in the green eyes that were so much like Lily's. It was a guarded and haunted look that never left the lovely eyes of Miss Evans after Halloween 1975. That had been when McGonagall signed the betrothal between the young witch and James Potter.

'I have failed another generation,' Flitwick told himself as he watched Potter collect his belongings and place them into a book bag that looked familiar for some reason. 'I am Sturrdel-gryhiglzehwe and need to return to the bedrock under Gringotts.'

Before the boy could rise and leave the table, Flitwick asked, "Where are you going each day, Mr Potter? You climb the stairs to the unused floors and vanish for hour at a time. It is very cold up there."

"It is good of you to make such an inquiry, professor, but I am perfectly warm and reading comic books, and other bits of muggle literature," Harry replied with a pureblood reply.

"What are comic books?" asked the professor.

Harry dug into his book bag and pulled out three comic books that he handed over. "Quality muggle reading material…"

Distracted for a moment, Flitwick let the boy get away, but he called out, "Potter, how are you able to stay warm up there?

Looking over his shoulder, Harry replied, "As Headmaster Dumbledore once told me, help is always available at Hogwarts to those who need it."

The half-goblin paused because that was one of the favourite replies from the headmaster whenever anyone questioned his plans in the castle. This left him unprepared for the verbal attack that was delivered at close range.

"Filius Flitwick! How dare you come into this library and disturb the quiet!" scowled Madam Pence. Knowing better to poke a dragon in her den where she controlled the wards, he bowed, begged forgiveness, and fled. He would report to Dumbledore and then examine these muggle comic books.

Dobby joined Harry in the hallway outside the Room of Requirement. Pulling the book bag close, Harry noticed the smug expression on the elf's face.

"You were correct Dobby; Whiskers is paying attention to me. He wanted to know where I'm going and what I'm doing up here all alone."

"Did he be asking you?"

"He sent Professor Flitwick to perform the interrogation."

Nodding in understanding, Dobby said, "Much, most smarter than sending Judas Goat. Dobby pleased that Mr Harry Potter not playing pranks jokes on mangy cat yet."

"There's too much to do to try and skin a cat," the boy replied before he walked back and forth, asking for the Lily Evans Ritual Room. After the third pass, the large double door bearing the Hogwarts' crest appeared. Opening one side, Harry and Dobby stepped inside to find a full coven of house elves waiting for them.

Placing the precious book bag on the chair where he sat after casting IFI to restore the excavated portions of the Chamber of Secrets, Harry asked, "Do we need this many elves to help today?"

Dobby nodded and explained, "Six elves be enough to power pulling stuffs from voids of great nothings to put back into chambers just under our feets. And six elves mean there be no damage to Hoggiewarts Hotel."

"Damage to the castle?"

"Only way Hoggieswarts Hotel be hurted was if stupid wizard did spell without elves. Dobby thinks Miss Lily not know this."

Harry frowned and said, "Someday I'll verify all her theories. I don't think I'll ever publish the work."

"Dangerously to publishes," interrupted Dobby. "Mr Harry Potters might be smart to keep as family magic and tell no ones about most Magicals Null Space."

The boy's frown grew darker but then he took a deep breath and said, "That's a discussion for another day. You're probably right and after I am free of this prison, I shall consider both sides of the argument."

"The dark prison with demon guards be far away from Hoggiewarts Hotel, and this many elves mean Null Magic can hear Mr Harry Potters talking about island in middle of cold, dark ocean. Missy Lily's IFI spells needs to see what used to be there today."

"I hope I am smart enough to always listen to you Dobby. This is the same IFI spell as the Chamber of Secrets, just further away, and again we're returning the natural stone to the island."

Nodding to accept Dobby's admonition, Harry settled his mind into the images of Azkaban he'd seen in the minds of Sirius Black and Arthur Weasley this summer. The island rose out of the North Sea with no other islands nearby. The wizards had placed wards around the island against apparition and portkeys so both men had been forced to stare at the island sailing toward it and away. Sirius had flown there once on a broom and that was another perspective Harry used to build the image of the target.

Now, he moved to the southern point of the pentagram and while chanting the IFI spell to remind magic what had been sent to Magical Null Space, he walked clockwise around the pentagram three times. He passed the east point but stopped at the point for north. There he bowed once toward the centre of the magic pentagram. Then he continued, walking passed the west point and returning to the south point again.

At the south point, Harry bowed once toward the centre of the pentagram and then began walking again, constantly reminding magic of what had been removed from the natural stone of the earth.

When Harry completed the third pass around the pentagram, he stopped at the southern point, bowed once toward the centre and then began walking clockwise. He passed the western spot and returned to the north where he bowed, and then continued passed the east point to the south, circling the pentagram. This time, while he walked, he asked magic to return the stone that had been sent to Magical Null Space by the spells centuries before.

When he completed the third pass around the pentagram, Harry noticed the house elves lay on the floor and the teenager managed to collapse without banging his nose, head or elbows. A minute passed before he began to rouse and immediately call for help from the other house elves. Three elves popped into the Come-And-Go room. One left immediately for more help while the first two elves arranged the others comfortably on the floor.

Harry sat up on his elbows until he was assured that Dobby and none of the other elves were injured. The oldest elf huffed and said, "They just be tired! Should be three covens working this magic for Mr Harry Potters! Will tell Dobby and he be listening."

After the elves had bowls of berries and Harry drank a cup of hot chocolate and ate a plate of sandwiches, everyone remained on the floor with conjured mattresses and blankets for a nap until time for dinner in the Great Hall.

Preparing to leave the Room of Requirement, Harry asked, "We're not using too many elves, are we? Will Whiskers or the others notice the elves not being around?"

"No, Mr Harry Potters," Dobby replied. "Elves get bored during winter break and spring break. In summer, they cry with sadness and pop around to magical gardens and forests to make flowers most beautiful and trees grow tall to use up their magic."

"That's great Dobby," Harry said. "We'll have to remember that when we want to use IFI for other stuff."

The elf said, "Youse be rememberings to eats lots of food in Great Hall! And Dobby be bringing you snack tonight too before you goes to bed."
