-Part Cinco: Freezer Burn: The Finals of the Sports Festival-
Goku goes into the waiting rooms again, resting up before his final battle. Here, it's when he finally gets to meet Endeavor, the No. 2 Hero of Japan, behind only All Might.
"Ah, so you must be Son Goku. I'm Endeavor," He says. "I must say, your Quirk is most impressive, even moreso than Midoriya's. And yet, why do you hold back your true strength? I can tell your's is much grander than what you've showcased so far."
"I know my true strength, Endeavor. It's far too much to have fun in this festival!" Goku countered.
"Bah, 'too much to have fun' is it?! You'll have to use your true strength sooner or later in the real world, boy. You are just like my son, you just play with your food..." Endeavor grimaced and mumbled, before he left. Toshinori, having hid himself behind some lockers, decided to show up in his true form instead of his buff form, since the Saiyan had already seen him in that state.
"Young Son, I wanted to come here to congratulate you on the progress you've made since the USJ. Even though I saw your yellow irises and felt your tinge of berserk rage, you were able to make sure to not severely harm Young Bakugou. I was afraid that you would have punched him like that Nomu, with no restraint." Toshinori said.
"Thanks, All Might. It still doesn't feel right, using that power..." Goku said, a little despondent, having to call upon that power again. The surge of anger and fury, it didn't feel like he has full control over it, causing a limit to be placed on the amount of power he can draw without losing himself. Nonetheless, his teacher simply patted the young student on the shoulder, smiling.
"Your progress has been stellar, and that power is yours, as Young Midoriya and you had said to Young Todoroki. Regardless, I really came here to thank you for helping Young Midoriya realize his Quirk. I don't know how you've learned about One For All, but he's been adapting to its faster than I could have ever expected, and he had been telling me all about you, so you have my thanks. You are a true hero in training, Son Goku. Go Beyond, Plus Ultra!" The No. 1 Hero said in a heroic fashion, posing before going back to the stands. Goku's smile returns a little bit. Soon, Goku would hear the announcement for him to come back onto the stage for the final battle, and he locks his gaze onto Todoroki.
"And now, for the final battle...! On one side of the ring, we have a prodigious martial artist, his strikes coming at lighting speeds against his opponents, knocking them out of the ring, and with an awesome power boiling underneath! But will he be able to pull a major upset against the son of the No. 2 Hero?! We shall see, for he's SOOOON GOOOOKUUU!" Mic belted out, the crowd in a flurry of cheers. "And on the other side, we have an unstoppable force of nature! He froze everything in his way, but he had to give Midoriya a freezer burn! However, will his mountain of ice and fire seal the unstoppable Monkey King?! We truly have a Battle of the Titans, so please give it up for SHOTOOOOO TODOROOOOOOOKIIIIII!"
"I am glad to be your opponent, Son Goku." Todoroki said, with a slight smile appearing as he assumes his fighting stance, his face turning back to a stoic, focused gaze. "But don't think you've won just because you punched everyone out of your way."
"Yeah! Let's see you fight at your full potential!" Goku replied in kind. Before he assumes his fighting stance, he looks up to the student bleachers. Just looking at his fellow students, cheering him on to do his best, alongside Shoto, made him smile before he looks back and assumes his fighting position. "Ready when you are, Todoroki!" he said, in a tone of challenge.
"Begin!" Midnight yells, as the two combatants start fighting.
Knowing of Todoroki's favor of freezing his opponents, the monkey teen dodges his opponent's ice pillars as he closes the gap between the two. As he started to throw hands at him, his opponent was skidding back, though a few blows on his lower abdomen shows that he's barely holding on, simply looking for any weakness. But as soon as an opening was found, Todoroki landed a hit and partially froze Goku's torso and upper arms, keeping him from blocking as he lands a flaming uppercut on his opponent's jaw, hurling the Saiyan into the air and skidding on the ice, nearly losing by Ring Out.
"Uh oh, it looks like Goku's on thin ice here! Todoroki froze his opponent's arms in place by freezing his torso in an ice block, not to mention how close to the edge they are! Will this be an anti-climactic end for the young Monkey King?!" Mic commentated.
The Son of Endeavor approached the Saiyan, with his ice foot on the block and his face in a frown, disappointed in the cockiness of his prey. "Hmph, you've made a fatal mistake with underestimating me or thinking I'm quick to anger like Bakugou, Son Goku," Todoroki said, ice starting to crawl down and further freezing his opponent. Instead of simply the upper chest and parts of his upper arms, he froze down to the abs and had nearly entirely frozen his elbows.
"Maybe, I guess I'll have to think quick on my feet!" Goku said, using an energy explosion from his right hand to allow him to spin and land a low sweeping kick on Shoto, shocking him, before feeling a powerful roundhouse kick to his side as he skids along the ice. As he looked on the ground, he sees his opponent leap up and break free of the ice prison by flexing!
"Wow! Son Goku broke free by simply flexing! Also, did I just hear some quality puns on the field?! Since when was he the comedian type, like a certain Ms. Joke?" Mic asked, grinning as he looks at his partner.
"Don't you dare bring Ms. Joke into this, Mic. Focus on the fight," Aizawa glared at Mic, squeaking as he simply kept his trap shut.
With the distance between the two far away again, Shoto started to gather power for his signature freezing move, but it was for naught as the Saiyan sees the opportunity to attack, intercepting and cancelling it out as a flurry of punches followed by a jump kick to Shoto's chest sends his opponent away! He had an ice wall erected, but he's starting to feel the strain. Unlike his battle with Midoriya, the physical pain was getting to him more than the frost. But, he will prove his superiority. He won't just let Goku defeat him this easily. With one more charge, as quick as he can, he fires off his ultimate freezing move! Similarly to Sero's ice prison, Goku was right in the middle of the thickest icicle, as many more pale blue ice pillars were erected covering the rest of the arena. This particular move caused frost to form all around the arena, the air became truly misty, as it slowly flowed around the crystals. Shoto fell to one knee, panting heavily. He had used a lot of energy for one last hurrah, however, it seemed to have worked as he generated small flames to help warm himself up. There was barely any cheering, as much of the crowd was shivering badly, no one was safe from the immense cold the iceberg emitted.
"G-G-G-G-Good L-L-L-Lord!" Mic said, shivering. Not even the Announcer's booth was safe from the frost this time. "W-W-W-What a p-powerful b-b-blast by T-t-todor-r-roki! S-S-S-Son G-G-Goku's frozen s-s-s-solid...!"
"It seems to have been a desperate final strike," Aizawa said, unperturbed, underneath an especially thick sleeping bag. "Though I wouldn't entirely count Goku out... At least, not yet."
Midnight, in the meanwhile, was not only frozen in place, an actual block of ice having anchored her to the stage from the knee down, she's similarly frosty.
"S-S-Son is immob-b-bili-" She started to say, but then there was a booming echo of noise. Todoroki looked into the ice, there's cracks just around Goku's figure. However, his pupils shrunk. Truly, there was no one could have that much-?!
BOOM! KRRRRRK! The deep noises continued, the cracks around Goku, who was straining within his prison, was expanding, the lattice was slowly breaking around the Saiyan, and the earth starts to quake as he starts trying to free himself, a muffled yell starting to be audible. The audience looked on in awe, the students were shocked that he's even fighting what was supposed to be the end of him. Soon... There's a loud CRACK as the final attempt for the ice to contain its captive had catastrophically failed, and Goku's energy explodes, destroying the ice prison with large ice chunks falling onto the grass, the mist dissipating as the Saiyan flexes himself and a short yell followed by a wave of warm air, with a chuckle following soon after. Only the spot Shoto was standing on near the edge had no ice, while there was a mass of ice surrounding his opponent.
"I'm sorry, Todoroki, but I'm not gonna go down so easily, either!" Goku said, a bit cocksure, but just as suddenly, he zips towards his fire and ice opponent, and the fighting continued. Despite the ice, Goku simply adapted his flight to avoid it altogether, flying low after the initial run, his feet just barely touching the ice.
He was barely able to keep up with the Saiyan's energy, and with little else, he starts using his fire as freely as he used his ice. Soon, the fires start melting the ice to a more reduced state, and Goku's speed kept allowing him to dodge the fireballs. Despite the swarm of attacks by both sides, neither one will back down, nor will they truly knock each other out, with some surprisingly powerful blows staggering the Saiyan back, but not without a crushing counterattack. However, as they look at each other in the eye, they both wordlessly state their intentions: A final attack, the most powerful one they can muster and they agreed as they panted. Almost on command, the two leap to the opposite sides of the arena, as the audience are wondering what's going on.
"I couldn't have ever anticipated your strength, Son Goku... Thank you..." Shoto said softly in between pants. "However... it's time to end it..."
"Likewise..." Goku replied, just as softly as he pants. "You are seriously amazing, Todoroki... But I have to win...!" Goku starts, assuming his first pose as he motions his hands in a massive circle, his hands soon conjuring his two orbs, and upon the hands touching, the orbs merge into one.
"KAAAAAAAMEEEEE..." Goku yelled, his voice amplified, the white aura returning, flaring like an out of control wildfire. Goku was in intense focus. Midnight gulped, but she steeled herself. And while Cementoss isn't even sure if his cement will stop whatever is happening, he'll be ready if it turns out too destructive.
"That was exactly I wanted to see, Goku...! Now it's my turn...!" Shoto smirked, his competitive blood pumping at maximum, he starts charging his fire and ice sides!
"HAAAAAMEEEEE..." The Saiyan continued. The students are looking afraid, what is this overwhelming power they feel, and how is the sphere generating that much blue light? The crowd starts to murmur at Goku's supposed ultimate move, Aizawa and All Might were shocked, this energy feels overwhelming even to them! It felt as if the Earth herself trembles, the power of the two kids' somehow making her quiver in fear!
"SHOOOOOTOOOO! BEAT THIS WHELP WITH THE FIRES I GIFTED YOU!" Endeavor yelled. When Shoto heard this, he felt discouraged. His fire was weakening to tiny dancing embers, the fire-hand trembling, yet he sees his opponent's eyes, steeled with drive and determination, unquavering, if not outright encouraging his new friend to unshackle himself. ...You are not Endeavor! You are yourself, and your Quirk is yours! Shoto heard Midoriya's voice echoed in his mind. ...You're strong because of you, not because of Endeavor! Goku's voice now echoed in his head, as his mind flashed between his childhood and his fights, the contradiction of the two making him think deeper. He looks at his opponent's eyes, intensely focusing on them, his quivering hand steadying themselves, as he steeled himself. ...Your Quirk is yours! ...You're strong because of you...! ...You are not Endeavor! ...You are ...you! The two voices merged, and that had done it. His fire flares to life, stronger than ever, his own eyes sharpened its gaze on his target! These flames are his, not his bastard of a father's, as he will win his way!
"A Kame Hame wha-?" Present Mic was going to ask, but he was cut off an an intense flash of light soon followed.
"HAAAAAAAAA!" Goku yells, the orb now firing in a beam at Shoto, arms outstretched! He responds with a massive fire and ice blast, ice swirling around the fire beam! The two collide in a song of blue and reddish orange, the winds howling violently among everyone, nearly blowing Midnight off the stage and even staggering Cementoss, the winds eating away what little ice and frost remaining! It was as if nature itself couldn't bear witness to this epic clash of two similar powers! They continued their onslaught, grunting in exertion as they try to force their attack to land their mark. However, soon, the Saiyan started to feel a surge of power.
"Full... POWER! HAAAAAAAAAA!" Goku yelled, putting the last push in his Kamehameha Wave. Sadly for the No. 2's son, the power of this beam was too much, as he's soon felt himself flying in the air, the beam dissipating when a grunt was heard. Shoto was on the ground outside the arena, a large crater on the wall where he impacted. His body aches everywhere, but he's still conscious. Due to the blast of power, the only thing Goku had on was a tattered undershirt and his equally tattered pants, which is still intact enough to be decent. The victorious Saiyan panted heavily as he fell onto his knees again, steam escaping his body as sweat pools underneath him.
"Ring Out! The absolutely handsome Son Goku is the winner!" declared Midnight.
"WHAT A DAZZLING FINISH! The Monkey King, Son Goku, had done the impossible! He destroyed the Ice and Fire peak that was Shoto Todoroki!" Mic announced, as a roar of cheers came from the stands.
The students cheered loudly for their classmates, they had both done extremely well. For the Pros, they were stunned that, for all they knew, that relatively obscure Rice Hero fathered this force of nature!
"Where did that beam come from?!" "Can you not see, mes amis? Son-kun learned how to be sparkling!" "What a monstrous power... Not even Dark Shadow could have endured such an attack during the new moon." "And that's not even touching about how fast he is when he's moving! It's like he barely wastes any energy on his movement!" "Todoroki definitely held his own against him. That means that Son's not as invulnerable as we think!"
"What the Hell is that Son Goku kid made out of?!" "He just devastated Endeavor's kid!" "The Future definitely looks bright with kids like these around!" "What a monster, I am absolutely glad UA got him!" "Jeez, even All Might might have some trouble fighting him!"
Goku went out to the fields, slowly as he feels fatigued himself, and offers Shoto an arm, shocking the defeated student.
"Heh, you're an absolute beast...! I hope I can fight you again soon...!" Goku said, tired but chipper. With a smirk, he elects to grab his now friend's hand.
"Your victory was well-earned, Son Goku. And don't worry, I don't intend on giving up, not when I have a true rival to contest. I hope you don't get too complacent, because I will come after you."
As soon as Shoto and Goku were healed, the three winners went up on the podium, with All Might presenting medals. The Rated-R Hero was readying her final speech for the First Years.
"This was an exciting Sports Festival!" Midnight clamored. "Unfortunately, Tenya Iida could not be here to accept his award, family bonds and such, but give it all up for Son Goku, Shoto Todoroki, and Katsuki Bakugou!" The stadium erupted in cheers again, as All Might appeared, shaking the hands of the participants and giving them a hug, congratulating every one of them for a job well done!
Goku felt saddened he couldn't congratulate Tenya, but he felt happy, as his thirst for a good challenged was parched: Momo, Bakugou, and Todoroki were amazing fighters and he enjoyed his battles with them. While Mina wasn't as impressive, he knows she's capable, she just needed some focus.
"Young Son, you seemed to have become more focused, even a bit relaxed! Remember to not be too relaxed or complacent, or else your opponents might be able to take advantage of you! Congratulations on going the distance and getting gold!"
"Thanks, All Might! I'll definitely work on my powers a bit more. I had a lot of fun fighting everyone and seeing them give it their all!"
The thought of seeing his mother again, after all this time made Shoto feel a little sorrowful, because what if she disapproved of him using his flames? The flames his father had wanted to intermingle with his mother's ice, the perfect blend of the two, to only be used as a spearhead for Endeavor's name.
"Young Todoroki, I am glad you're overcoming your handicap with your flames! However, I see that it's weaker than your ice. I hope this Festival has shown to you why it's important to be well-rounded! Congratulations on a well-fought battle!"
"Thank you, All Might... While I can't promise my fires will be stronger, I will try to not hold them back as I had."
Bakugou was looking aloof, bitter but determined in his spot to eventually overtake that Monkey and his Deku, and ultimately gun for Todoroki and All Might's spot. However, even he'll silently admit he's no match for the monkey-tailed student right now, and just held his medal in his right arm, looking down.
"Young Bakugou... I can see that you're disappointed in your 3rd placement, but look at it this way! The people got to see the real you! Rugged, but definitely not without heart! You see what many in the stands haven't! That is a rare strength in Heroics, and that is something you absolutely should be proud for! That is always worthy of a 'Congratulations'!"
"Hmph. Fine, I suppose that is not entirely a failure, All Might..."
"And now, to close off the Sports Festival, I want you all to repeat after me...!" All Might declared. Drumrolls filled the imaginary ears of everyone in proximity.
"PLUS ULTRA!" the crowd responded, while All Might responded with "Thank you for your efforts!"
What happened next is a catastrophe, as the audience unilaterally booed off the No. 1 Hero. Midnight was facepalming the entire time, as the 1A students were struggling to not look like they were cringing at the epic failure, as All Might pathetically tried to assure them that they had indeed done well in their efforts.
Back at the Son Residence, Mikai was elated, crying in joy at seeing her boy do so well. She was naturally worried her son would be pretty badly hurt, he had been able to control himself!
"That's my boy! You were awesome!" she yelled in joy, proud that their adoptive son was able to do so well in the Festival. She started to rapidly dial a number she hadn't dialed in a long while.
Gohan was out at work, as usual, but he learned quickly of how the Sports Festival went down at a bakery in Hosu.
"Hey, Mochi-Mochi!" The baker waved at Gohan. "You gotta take a look at this! Your bean sprout did amazing in the Sports Tournament! He outright swept the Finals!"
Of course, they were showing a highlight of the Sports Festival, a lot of which involved Goku able to maneuver well in the Obstacle Course, his face-off against Team Todoroki during the Calvary Battle, and finally, snippets of his fights with his classmates. Gohan's smile absolutely beamed with pride.
"Heh... You did well, Goku..." were all that escaped his mouth. There's no lexicon available to the adoptive father that could reasonably express his pride in his son's accomplishments. All the while, the baker grinned, while they seemed like pathetic words, he can tell that those words were more than what they are.
At the Midoriya residence, a green-haired, pudgy woman looked at the entire thing with a bit of awe and sadness, her poor boy was pretty badly hurt, yet she saw that he had been able to adapt well because of that kid he's been talking about, standing triumphant at the podium.
"So, Son Goku was the boy you were talking about, Izuku...? He looks as gentle as you said he was. Well, aside from when he was pushed back. I just hope he can help you realize your Quirk so you won't hurt yourself so badly anymore."
In the Bakugou household, a youthful looking woman simply chuckled, a phone in hand. While she was appalled at the excessive force Bakugou used against Mikai's son, she's gotta admit she didn't expect him to pull out a win that well! And while she was shocked at Goku's counterattack, she did see that her boy was absolutely fine by the end, so he couldn't be all too bad.
"So that's your son, Mikai? I can finally understand why you took so long to call me back. ...Kid's pretty damn great, and you should be proud of him! Hopefully that'll teach my rugrat a lesson in hubris! Maybe a bit brutal looking, but my son's still walking, so whatever he done didn't seem to have hurt him too bad. ...How's about a feast, my treat to you! And this ain't a suggestion, this is a request!" she laughed. "...Alright, alright, well, we got to meet up soon! Ta-ta!"
In the offices of a major All Might fanboy, a guy with green and yellow hair looked at a couple screens. One broadcasted the Third-Years, where his protégé was able to outwit everyone with his extraordinary Quirk, a small grin of pride filled his otherwise stoic face. The other one, was the First-Years. He was disappointed to see the green-haired kid, recognizing his fledgling agility and strength as a telltale sign of his bond with One For All. However, this broadcast was not in vain, as his curiosity went to the black, spiky-haired kid that flew and fired a beam out of his hands, in addition to his inhuman speed and control in his physical prowess. Even for a first year, that amount of power and control he had shown was fascinating. Perhaps he should have scouted him earlier as a potential Symbol of Peace candidate...? However, he shrugs the thought away. That kid has pride, something that would make such an offer absolutely impossible. He can tell he wants to earn his powers and not be granted them with no questions asked. In a weird way, he can respect him even more.
"Hmm, what an interesting kid you are, Son Goku. Your Quirk is admittedly incredible and it seems so easy to use. However, I'll see what you're really made of when the time comes..." He mumbled to himself, before an assistant came knocking on the door, dragging his head away from the Festival as he awaits their report.
At the Kamino Bar, Shigaraki was looking at the computer screen, befuddled. He had never seen such depth in Goku's powers until now. His master, the shadowy Sensei, took notice as he spoke through a television. While he can't exactly see what's happening, his ears work well enough, and there was plenty of ham to eat thanks to the announcers graciously giving lyrics to the action in the stadium.
"That boy, Son Goku... What an extraordinary Quirk! So powerful, yet so versatile. If I can claim it for myself... we can destroy Hero society as we know it, my dear Shigaraki!" Sensei said, smiling.
"That blonde kid, Katsuki Bakugou also has an overpowered Quirk, too, and he looked like a Legendary-Grade Villain...! Though how can we kidnap Goku and Bakugou, if he's able to keep up with our USJ Nomu?! And that's not considering Mr. Hailfire Peaks there barely able to keep up with the brat!" Shigaraki asked. The ominous figure didn't stop smiling.
"Did you not notice yet, my dear boy? He gave us the perfect bait and weakness. That girl he fought in the Top 16, Momo Yaoyorozu, if that overbaked radio announcer of a Hero is of any indication. I don't need her Quirk, because not only do I not have any need for such a powerful, yet overly complicated Quirk, but stealing a Quirk from a socialite will cause too many unwanted wondering eyes upon us, otherwise I would just steal young Shoto's or Endeavor's Quirk. However, kidnapping her to draw Goku right into our maws... That's the perfect plan." He continued. "When the time is right, threaten her life, but don't extinguish it. Because then he'll be weak and co-operate with us. If she dies, I fear you will all die alongside her."
"Of course, Sensei..." Shigaraki said, grinning like a maniac on how he wants to kill Goku tenfold for his humiliation back at the USJ, especially seeing his screaming, anguished face disintegrate into dust, crushing his friends' spirits giving him the fuel to attempt such a suicidal job. "I hope I can disintegrate that boy's body by the end of it!"
"Only when I have his Quirk. Then you can kill him however you please. And I would prefer to hand the spare back to her family, to let her escape with despair racking in her head, after her family pays the ransom." He commanded. They start to plan out their schemes. And with a mole within the ranks of 1A, it'll make the execution of their plan much easier.
Later on in the day, a white-haired woman was staying in a plain room, wearing only medical issued clothing. The sun casting its light into the room.
"Rei Todoroki, you have a visitor," The PA system announced. This wasn't exactly the biggest surprise to the woman. When the older siblings of Shoto got old enough, they made sure to visit her every month. However, when the door opens, her eyes go wide.
"Shoto..." Rei softly said, shocked to see the youngest son of the Todoroki family coming.
"Mother," He said, just as softly. "I'm sorry I took so long before I went over. I had to ask Fuyumi for directions, and I would rather not have Father breathing down my neck."
"No, no. I'm sorry for all I had done, Shoto," She said. "I didn't see you as who you are. I only saw you as your father."
"I have to ask this, Mother. May I use my father's flames?" Shoto asked, a bit ashamed. However, without even skipping a beat, Rei simply rubbed his cheek before giving him a soft hug.
"That fire is yours, and you don't need my permission to use your own fire. Do you remember why you wanted to be a Hero?" She asked.
"I want to save people, give them hope like All Might would. I could care less about the fame and fortune," Shoto replied, his mother giving him a warm smile.
"You will be a wonderful Hero, my son. Even if you had just used your fire, I can see that, clear as day."
"I had some help... Izuku Midoriya and Son Goku saved me by having me see that the way I was going about it was all wrong. Though it'll be a long while before I could use my fire like I had used your- my ice."
After the excitement dissipated a day later, Goku returned to his meditation sessions. The Great Ape returns, this time looking more solemn and without its sadistic tendencies.
"Kakarot... There will soon be a time in which you'll find a power greater than even mine. I felt its tinge, it's a grand power that would make that Nomu feel like nothing more than a wet shirt," It growls. "But also... I see you've found yourself a possible girlfriend, with a fire rivaling your own."
"There's nothing between me and Momo, we're just good friends!" Goku said in embarrassment. The ape simply laughed uproarously, but it soon returned to its stoic state.
"You are a horrible liar. She will be the trigger to this great power. And it will put you above everyone. You will be king of this dirt rock!" It clamored. Goku simply shook his head.
"Even if I'm the strongest then, I'm certain there will be those stronger than me..." Goku mused. The ape nods.
"Perhaps you are right, Kakarot... However, there may be more to this world than what it seems," it says. "For now, I will lend you more of my energies for your usage. Just promise you won't die on me, okay?" it yelled, as a bright, yellow light envelops the two, and the ape disappeared as the lights dimmed.
"More of its powers...? Does that mean I can trigger the power-up at higher levels? There's so much to ask him about, and yet I can't even put them into words..." Goku thought to himself... However, the delicious smelling food snaps him out of his meditation, as he accidentally landed on his face and the books landed in a ring around him.
"Uh oh, dinner time!" Goku said, as he soon puts away his books and soon goes downstairs to eat.
The Son Family were distressed to see that the Hero Killer, simply called "Stain", had struck again on the news. For this edition, they have reported on another Pro Hero who was crippled for the rest of his life, Tensei Iida, who went by the Hero Name of Ingenium. Gohan, as cool-headed as he usually appears, felt petrified in fear, panic, and survivor's guilt overtaking as his eyes shake and his breathing turned tense, having barely gotten out of Stain's target sights that day. Mikai, saddened to see her husband in this state, made him a special batch of rice infused with her citrus oil, which soon allowed him to calm down. However, such a deep fear of either he or his son being crippled, if not being outright murdered by this extreme vigilante, kept him from entirely calming him down. For Goku, however, this clicked as to why Tenya wasn't present, and he felt saddened on watching this story, with the memories of vigilantism brimming and wishing he could have saved Tensei, despite having never met the man before. If he sees Stain, he will defeat him, no matter the cost.
A.N.: Let me be real, procrastination is a total bitch. That and trying to give a bit more meat to the story. One that, by itself, already has a fair bit of holes in it. That was why it took me so long to finally post this part. Heck, I don't even have a good Chapter 9 drafted! Though a large part of me wants to bring in Oozaru Goku again, maybe have it so either the Nomu or Stain. That's right, every one of Goku's race of Space Warriors can become a giant gorilla. And he is truly sorry, but he's gotta have a clear conscious before he looks into the fireball. Big Green meme aside, the hardest part about writing from here on will be that I now can't use the manga to realign whatever comes next. That's why I have altered the parts a bit more, so that some of the canon portions happen within the fanfic, though a few parts that don't align exactly I will likely keep that way. For most of Chapter 9, it will involve Goku training with Ryukyu and Nejire-chan, so I won't need to lean in as heavily on the Manga, likely some "Momo is not amused that she's a part of a shampoo commercial" or "Midoriya found Gran Torino fucking dead except not because he loves pranking people" will suffice. Another probable change might be having Katsuki go to Mirko instead of Jeanist. Taking a leaf out of the "Deku?" fanfic, I loved how the two characters interact. Plus, it'd serve well to advance the arc significantly faster by having the closest parallel he can have in terms of the Pros.
