Authors Note: And so begins the POV of the favorite characters. I have meant to make the first five chapters to be a bit slow on time skipping, and I will also include the years of 1979 and 1980. I will also introduce my OC character who Severus will 'rescue' which you will find out why. An Inspiration from a chapter I had just read today. I want the thrice defied to be in depth of how Voldemort tried to recruit James Potter, Sirius Black, and Frank Longbottom to be followers of the Death Eaters, and thrice he dueled them. I did not mention Peter into the group of Order of the Phoenix, because he will serve a huge role as a Death Eater, and how he will cross path with Severus in the future chapters. There will be shocking revelations in the upcoming chapters so stay tuned and stay safe. Also all the characters owned by JK Rowling, forgot to include that on the first chapter. So without further a do, here is the second chapter.
Chapter 2
Time Skip January 25th, 1979
The news of Timothy Fortescque has escalated in the ministry and the wizarding world.
It brought music to Severus ears, and the Death Eaters, but for the past 2 weeks, the ministry has declared an emergency attempt to raid assigned by Lord Alphard Fortescque
Severus manages to harm some aurors, because they were skillful, and Severus had never participated on such events, but they wouldn't let him showcase his true power so he stunned some with gut wrenching curses. It wasn't until a mop of black hair meeting him face to face.
Severus grins under the mask, and so begins the duel. Potter was indeed fast, but not fast enough, Severus screamed Rictumsempra, and then later a blood boiler curse. It didn't work onto Potter, because the fool used the shield to absorb the energy of the curse.
The battle continued for the rivals and Potter screamed Expelliarmus but Severus ducked and then Mulciber, quicker by uttering the hex, shot a jet of light green onto Potter's chest and he fell down on a moan. Severus was angry, and he absent mindedly used the blood-boiling curse onto the fool. They will argue, but Severus will reason the fool about only Potter he will deal with.
The battle was clearly lost by the Death Eaters, because more aurors had joined, until a flash of red hair that almost caught Severus' breath. He hasn't seen her in months, and she still looks beautiful.
She skillfully managed to disarm and maim the Death Eaters. Despite how they had cemented their ways, Severus is still proud of her, deep down.
The battle kept on losing from Death Eater's favor and then the Dark Lord had showed up, and he singlehandedly killed many aurors with the killing curse
Somehow it caused a confidence on the Death Eaters, so they marched upon, and attempt to kill the aurors. Severus was once again face to face with the fool Black
But Severus had outsmarted Black and attempted to make the fool a taste of his own medicine by uttering 'Petrificus Totalus!'
The sudden appearance of the headmaster had surged fears around the death eaters, and the Dark Lord marched on by battling his old friend.
It was a losing battle, but the Dark Lord spoke calmly to the headmaster, and then turned to his followers by fall back and meet up on a designated location which Severus knows very well.
And so, the battle of Diagon Alley has ended.
Riddle Manor: Little Hangleton
It looked like a massacre, many Death Eaters were injured, including the arrogant Mcnair, whom he was moaning in pain.
Severus looked onto the frown looking Mulciber, ushering him for a short talk. The frowned-man nods and follows.
"I know you are furious Severus, but if it wasn't me, you would've been seriously injured" Mulciber said under his breath.
"I know and I owe you for that, but we both know I wanted Potter dead. I could have had him under my trap, but alas I had underestimated the toe rag" Severus said.
"Don't tell me you got soft by holding back eh Severus?" Mulciber grins, grasping Severus shoulder.
"Blasphemy, I was calculating his moves, now I know how to counter it, and believe me Mulciber, when we next meet, it won't be so lucky for him. I make sure to promise that" Severus said.
Mulciber chuckles and hugs Severus for a moment "You do you, old friend" Mulciber said. "Now come along, I think the Dark Lord is very angry" Mulciber turned through the opening door. Severus nods, because he has never seen the angry look of the Dark Lord before.
He was always calm in his own way, and it fascinated Severus, because he had always contemplated his headmaster to be the complete opposite when on battle. It turns out, they are two different people regardless of the age.
The huge table magically appeared, and there he was the dark lord, in his long black cloak, and the large snake beside him. He looks calm now, but the gleaming red eyes still lingers.
"Please, sit down. We begin our feast, and then we go straight to business" the dark lord said.
The food appears on the table, and Severus helps himself by serving the Pork chops and Meat roast.
After eating and drinking, the dark lord raised his hands, and the dishes on the table, disappeared.
"My loyal followers, I believe we have a spy among us. He has the audacity to talk a bit too much just like our dear old friend Timothy Fortescque, only has a bigger mouth" The Dark Lord rose from his chair
He walked upon the nervous looking followers, except the calm and confident Severus.
"I will ask one last time, but gently, please show yourself and spare me the trouble" The Dark Lord said and the snake hisses loudly.
The Dark Lord landed on a quiet man, touching his face for a moment, and then later a loud snap had erupted the group.
"I always knew he had a mouth for revealing our secrets." The Dark Lord said. And then he hisses to Nagini to take the newest recruiter Paul away.
"For that, I would want you all to lay low, and do not engage any battle with the mudbloods" The Dark Lord said.
Somehow it made a certain arrogant fool to stand up and shout over his master. "So, you are telling us to surrender over these maggot-looking saps!" Mcnair yells.
Severus face palms and shook his head. He turns to see the Dark Lord turning over the bald man.
"Ah Walden Mcnair, I know your father son. He is a very skillful man, I respect him, but I didn't know he had a mouth of a son, let alone to show disrespect of his superior in front of his peers" The Dark Lord's red eyes shone over the bald man
The Bald man screamed loudly, and it made Severus think that the Dark Lord is a natural llegimens aside him of course.
The bald man rubbed his temples, and the dark lord spoke softly "Let it be a lesson Mcnair. Now sit" The Dark Lord said. The bald man sat, and the dark lord returned to his seat, and he ended the meeting by saying.
"For now, I urge you all to lay low, and wait for another meeting to commence. We will strike the fools of the ministry and the aurors. I make sure for that, but for now I will use dare I say Albus Dumbledore tactic, by recruiting a spy on him. They had fight dirty, and we will fight dirtier. The meeting has been dismissed."
Severus left the meeting only to be met by Narcissa and Lucius. The pompous man smirks over the silent man, and he wishes he wants to wipe the smug out of the man's face.
"You have done well Snape" Lucius said with a respectful bow. Severus does the same and sees the smiling look of Narcissa by hugging him. "You are invited on a family dinner Severus, dear mother wanted to meet you" Narcissa said.
Severus nods a bit and then spoke. "I am honored Narcissa, but I am afraid I have other duties to do" Severus said. "Severus Snape, you are invited, and no buts" Narcissa scowls. Severus flinched a bit and had no choice but to nod.
He turns around to see many Death Eaters leaving, wondering what the next mission is the Dark Lord would commence, and how ready Severus would be. Only time will tell.
Potter Manor 26th January 1979
Lily Evans's right arm, the wand arm was numb, and the bruises on her back, after being exposed on some curses, for instance, the blood boiling curse, still stings around her stomach and back.
She took some potions she brewed, and she gulps down on the bed by reading a book which she bought a week ago.
Several weeks ago, Jamie had matured up and asked her to marry him which she gladly accepts, only they agreed to be married on coming September this year.
She moved out to the Potter manor on the following day and had invited a small part of her friends to celebrate.
It wasn't until a couple days ago that the ministry had announced the death of their classmate Tim, the shy Hufflepuff she uses to accompany with, and secretly make James jealous by hanging out the shy man She chuckles for a moment of the memory but frowns because of a sad news.
James and Lily had returned to the manor for recovery, and he is in the bathroom, showering
While Lily is sitting on the bed they are sharing with. James left the bathroom, with his unruly mop of hair he has is more disheveled and she likes it, every single moment.
He smiles goofily and he sat on the bed, snuggling under her for comfort, which she allowed him.
They kissed for long hours, but felt like 5 minutes, and then they cuddled. "I see you had managed to maim the Death eaters eh Lily Flower" James said with a smile.
That made Lily flush in embarrassment. "Please, you were almost gone if it wasn't Sirius saving your bottoms" Lily wiggles her eyebrows which made the smiling man, laugh.
"Please, it was that arrogant man whom I had a trouble dueling with. His skills were somehow familiar, something we both knew a long time ago, but that's not important, what's important is us, and our family which we will make" James wiggles his eyebrows now
It made Lily blush "Stop it James, we are at war, you cannot be thinking about sex right now" Lily frowns for that.
"But I thought you want a family Lils, Right after your parents, Mr. Harold's and Mrs. Georgina's death" James said.
Her family died on a car accident a month ago, and Petunia, Tuney had blamed her for that. If it wasn't James's support, Lily would go mad crying
"I know Jamie, but I want our babies to be living in peace and harmony, it is all I want" Lily said.
"I will ensure our kids to be safe, Mark my words Lily flower, I will make sure for that" James said, giving small kisses on her cheeks which made her moan slightly.
Just when James was using his magical hands under nightgown, she grabbed his hand and lets out a scowl more of like a pleading warning.
"Promise me this, if we get out somehow, we stop fighting crime for a moment, help raise our family" Lily said.
"But Lils…." James was about to counter her but she countered back. "I am not saying retiring idiot, I mean taking a short break. I don't want to see you injured and I know you don't want to see me injured too right Jamie?" Lily pleaded with her shining emerald eyes onto James' hazel eyes. "I promise Lily flower. I promise"
James kissed her forehead, repeating the same words, and then her ears, and then with almost a whisper of 'I promise' they have a blissful moment of snogging each other's, on their master bed.
The Next Day
They both received a patronus from Remus, telling them to attend in 12th Grimauld Place. On some meeting Remus implies. Lily saw James cringe a bit.
It was also the same year Sirius lost his mother, Walburga. She had died in Dragon pox, and Sirius does not feel sorry for a bit. Only he has inherited the place after his brother, Regulus joined the Death Eaters.
"Are you going to invite your parents James?" Lily asked. James seemed to not be listening to her for a moment and then, she thought of a next thing to catch his attention, by throwing a snitch over his face.
"Merlin Lily, that hurts" James smiles, rubbing his face. "It is the other way to get your attention. What's crossing that thick head of yours Jamie?" Lily giggles and then came close to hug her fiancée.
"Oh, my parents? I am not sure, they have grown old, and they decided to spend their peaceful days in one of Potter Manor in Scotland." James said.
"But knowing my father and how stubborn he could be, he will not back down by a fight" James chuckles. Lily sees his laugh seem to be forced a bit, detecting a fear from once.
"But I do know Lord Ian Mckinnon and his wife Lady Arianna will attend on some meeting. Let alone Lord Gerald Mcdonald and lady Georgina will attend also too" James chuckles, and it felt his goofy way of laughing.
"That is true, Marlene and Mary wouldn't stop about how their parents were urging them to fight for the right cause. Marlene and Mary are skilled duelists, I give you that, but they are focused on there careers" Lily ponders.
"Marlene? Heh. Oh believe me Lils, I have known her before I went to Hogwarts, she is as stubborn as you, sadly I didn't get to see her fight, because she was sent on a mission in Wales, hope to hear her today on this meeting" James said.
"Wait, so we are going?" It wasn't a question she was implying. It felt more like wondering why at this moment.
James looked at her for a moment and smiled. "I would do anything to make us and our children of the future to live safely and peacefully" James grins.
It made Lily grin also, where they shared a blissful kiss for a moment and then they went to the floo fireplace, shouting the Grimmauld Place.
12 Grimmauld Place, 27th January 1979
Lily and James had arrived onto a dank place, and they were greeted by Sirius and surprisingly Marlene. It wasn't a surprise for Lily, because she knew how close they are.
She giggles for a memory of them bickering for a long period of time, but it was indeed Sirius fault, because he was clearly doing this to make her jealous, and she retaliated by dating Keiran, a Ravenclaw handsome man.
"Nice to see you mate" Sirius said, hugging James, and Marlene also hugged Lily, with both giggling of their 'event' about Sirius
"Women" Both James and Sirius groans. Lily lightly pinched James arm, and ushers him to give him a small kiss.
Sirius had showed them the family table and they were not alone. James was indeed right, his family were there, Lord Fleamont and his wife Lady Euphemia Potter, Lord Ian and his wife, Arianna were there. Marlene's parents.
They sat on the left side of the table while James' parents sat on the right side. Remus was speaking with Auror Alastor Moody and Edgar Bones.
"Fabian and Gideon should be arriving by now" Sirius said, looking at his watch, Lily sees the dramatic man hurrying by offering them drinks
And then the twin brothers showed up, not long after a redhead woman with her red head husband. She was short and plump looking, she has the same hair color of the twins, so they must be her brothers.
"Ah Fabian, Gideon" James said, greeting the brothers. The twin brothers greeted James, and he ushered Lily to meet them.
"This is my fiancee Lily Evans Potter" James said proudly. Lily blushes from his statement and the one of the brothers kissed her hand in a courtesy "A pleasure" Fabian said.
Gideon did the same and waved over his sister to meet them, and they were named Arthur and Molly Weasley. They both smiled and learned that they were married and had two sons William and Charlie, both 8 and 6.
A few minutes later, another people Lily had never seen before, they must be people from the Wizengamot James had explained one time.
The host greeted them and ushered them to sit, offering them tea to which they accepted.
In few minutes, Frank Longbottom and Alice Fortescque had showed up. Lily gave her condolences over Alice's cousin, Timothy. She gave a sad smile, but showed her best friend a ring on her hand to which they were squealing with joy
She also showed Alice the engagement ring too, and they hugged, with a tears of joy to which Marlene and Mary also joined.
Lastly the last man arrived was the headmaster of Hogwarts. Professor Albus Dumbledore.
Lily and James greeted their former headmaster with such admiration, and the old man chuckled by their stupor.
"Please, you are not my students anymore, call me Albus now" Albus said with a smile. James shares the same smile and nods, including Lily.
Lily and James sat across Frank and Alice. They held hands under the table, smiling to each other for a moment until the cough of Sirius interrupted their bliss.
"I apologize to interrupt this merry moment. Allow me to introduce our former headmaster, professor Albus Dumbledore! Who gracefully attended this bless full moment and to have his own words to say, Professor, take the lead" Sirius said, lifting a goblet of firewhiskey.
The headmaster flushed and he turns to face over his former students, a twinkle over his half-moon spectacles.
"My fellow students. It has brought to my attention that we are at war, with Death Eaters." Albus Dumbledore said.
"Also, I bear the news that Lord Alphard has been stripped out from the wizengamot, only to be vacant for a member of Fortescque family heirloom." Dumbledore said.
Lily chanced a glance over Alice, and she was frowning, only Frank held her and said soothe words for her.
Poor Alice, not only her uncle was stripped out of the Wizengamot, but she cannot also take over, since she would be married, and pertains the Longbottom chair.
There must be a way to bring back the family heirloom, only she will speak to James for that.
"As for what I am about to tell you, must be kept secret. I will let Mr. Bones here to talk with his sister Amelia for joining us if so she choices" Albus said, and the man whom he mentions, nods.
"What is it pro….Albus" James asks and the headmaster smiles, shining the room that is half-gloomy.
"I am establishing a secret order. To raid and gather information of Death Eaters. It has brought my attention that there are members of the ministry that were Death Eaters." Dumbledore said.
"All I need is to do the raids silently and not let any other Aurors who were not affiliated with us" Dumbledore said.
That made the people on the table awfully silent, the only sounds were whispers and the air from the windows.
"Albus, if I may, I am sure Lord Voldemort would come to me and my son for recruitment" Lord Fleamont said.
"What makes you say that honey?" Lady Euphemia said with a worry of his eyes. Lily senses her fiancee tense a bit.
"To answer your question Lady Potter, Lord Fleamont is wealthy and a pureblood, something Tom wishes to recruit" Albus said.
It brought Lily the attention of how the Dark Lord has names, one moment it was just the Dark Lord, and the other moment was Lord Voldemort, and now their headmaster mentions the Dark Lord's name, Tom.
"If Lord Voldemort does such, I will make sure to never disavow the order Albus, and I will refuse his proposal" Lord Fleamont said with a smile, similar to James' smile.
"I knew I could count on you Lord Potter" Albus smiles. "But this is serious, because I am afraid the ministry is focusing on their own image, not noticing the danger of Tom and his followers" Dumbledore said.
"What is Lord Voldemort doing at a moment Albus?" Lord Ian Mckinnon asks, Lily can sense the tense atmosphere on mentioning the name again.
"That I don't know Lord Mckinnon, but what I do know is this, Tom does not back down, he is recuperating, going onto a different narrative" Albus said.
"And what is that?" Remus asks, Lily could sense he is shivering by asking that.
"I am afraid I don't know Mr. Lupin. Only time will tell, but for now, we must be alert and inform each other from now on"
"With constant vigilance!" The growling sound of Alastor Moody said, snapping the guests on the table
"Yes Alastor, with such vigilance, which is why I will name this order, Order of the Phoenix. From today henceforth, we shall induce meetings in this place secretly" Albus said.
Almost everyone grunts with acceptance. Lily and James stood up with a smile on their faces. They finally would make their world a safe place. No matter the cost.
Time skip March 5th, 1979
Severus hates apparating. He was tasked to apparate on a secluded area of Scotland, to make a offer with the giants.
The mark on his left hand burned, and the Dark Lord had summoned them onto a short meeting, he was chosen with Mulciber, Avery, and Lucius to recruit more allies.
Lucius almost hates the mission, because he sees the giants undesirables, Severus almost agrees, but grows a bit fascinated on their natural brute strength.
A strong asset for a raid to which he is eagerly waiting, Lucius told Severus that his father, Abraxas, made sure the ministry to apply the Muggle Registration program.
To which it was proposed a month ago, but the Wizengamot has postponed the proposal, since the fool Dumbledore is the chief warlock of the Wizengamot.
Lucius chuckles and laughs loudly "That arrogant fool think he can postpone the proposal? Oh my dear father might have a good influence within the ministry, I just cannot wait" Lucius said.
Severus half-listens and focuses on scouring over the field Scottish lands, they must be walking for over 2 hours and they went onto a dark Forrest, only to know that it is on the other side of Hogsmeade.
Severus grins and looks over the small town with a gleeful look. He was tapped on the shoulder by Mulciber
And they shared the same smile. "This is just the taste Severus; we will establish spies in this area" Mulciber mutters.
"Yes. Follow me, we are close" Lucius said to which Severus nods and follows the Malfoy heir.
They reentered the dark forest, and they were greeted by Boral the Giant leader. Everyone bows for the leader of the giants.
"Who dares to trespass the sacred forest in Scotland" Boral said in a hoarse tone. It caused a small flinch on some Death Eaters.
"Pardon me sir, I was sent by a decree from Lord Voldemort" Lucius said and he shows the leader a decree paper.
Severus watches over the leader and then seconds later he sees them laughing and throwing the decree paper onto the mud.
"And why should I accept the offer on some lord Mr?" Boral asks with a cold way tone.
Severus could swear that he sees the face of Lucius, masking himself not to hex the undesirable.
"I was being nice Mr. Boral, but what my lord has offered is much better than the fools of Light who would offer. They speak of equality and justice, but only to enslave you. My Lord has assured you, that he is guaranteeing your safety" Lucius said.
Severus glances on the leader and his followers, and they seem to ponder the Malfoy heir is proposing.
"And why should I trust you? You might be just like anybody else, a low-use human" Boral said.
"I understand the animosity Mr. Boral, but I speak purity and content, they speak for enslavement, and intermingling with the undesirables" Lucius spat.
Severus almost had a fascination of how Lucius has used the word to his better gain.
"It is indeed an intriguing offer my human" Boral said, giving the nods of his followers.
"While we become allies, my name is Lucius Malfoy, and these are my followers, we serve the Dark Lord" Lucius said.
It felt like hours for them to banter each other, but only it is 10 minutes, and they have returned back to the pub on the small town near Hogsmead.
Severus took a glass of Butterbeer while his teammates took a glass of Firewhiskey.
Lucius commands them to rest, and return to their places, and to wait for their marks to burn once again.
Mulciber sat close to Severus and whispers him to meet him outside and Severus nods.
"I am happy for this Severus, the other team brought great news, and the werewolves will also join us as allies, the ministry and Potter won't know what will hit them" Mulciber grins.
Severus nods and then they clinked their glass by uttering 'cheers' And then Severus spoke. "I am happy too, but this felt a bit laid back, I know we haven't done a raid in the last 2 months ago, but I want us to strike back and strike harder Mulciber" Severus said.
"Patience my brother, patience, we will have our revenge, they don't know what will hit them, now drink, celebrate, because after this, the world be pure. Say after THE WORLD WILL BE PURE!" Mulciber shouts.
"The world will be pure" Severus says politely. "Louder" Mulciber barks, and it motivates Severus, well a bit tipsy from the beer to growl "THE WORLD WILL BE PURE!"
Yes it will be indeed, and Severus cannot wait for that.
