Chapter 16: Nightmares
Lana's Dream:
With the new power I had from the scroll, I had the strength to fight Tai Lung, and so did Po. As I was headed for the Jade Palace, Tigress stopped me when I passed her.
"Lana! Where are you going?!" Tigress shouted.
"There is something I need to do! Go on without me!" I shouted back. I followed Po up the stairs to the Jade Palace. It took us a while because Po doesn't do well with stairs. When we reached the front doors of the Jade Palace, I saw something horrible.
Shifu was being held down by my brother, Tai Lung.
"Hey!" Po shouted. Po took a moment to catch his breath. "Stairs."
"Daddy!" I shouted with worry when I saw Shifu almost lifeless.
"Ah, Lana." Tai Lung said, looking at me. Tai Lung then took one look at Po. "Who are you?"
"Buddy, I am the Dragon Warrior," Po said.
"So am I," I said.
"You?" Tai Lung said, throwing Shifu on the floor who was passed out. "Him? He's a panda. You're a panda. What are you gonna do, big guy? Sit on me?"
"Don't tempt me," Po said. Po got into his fighting stance. "No, I'm gonna use this."
Po held out the Dragon Scroll, showing it off. Tai Lung's rage grew. "The Dragon Scroll." Tai Lung said.
"That's right," Po said.
"Hand it over, Panda." Tai Lung said.
"You'll never get it! Not while I'm around!" Po shouted.
"Oh, really? Well, how about some motivation." Tai Lung said with a smirk on his face. Motivation? What does that mean? My question was answered when Tai Lung charged towards me. Po jumped out of the way when Tai Lung grabbed a knife that was lying on the floor. Tai Lung wrapped his arm around me in a strong grip, holding me in a chokehold. Tai Lung held the knife to my neck.
"Dad!" I cried.
"Lana! Let her go!" Po shouted. I grabbed Tai Lung's arm and tried to get out of his grip, but he held me tighter.
"If you want your precious daughter back, Dragon Warrior then you will have to give the Dragon Scroll to me." Tai Lung said.
"Over my dead body. Now let her go." Po said angrily. I gasped for breath. I was running out of air. Po charged towards me and attacked Tai Lung. Tai Lung let go of his grip on me and attacked Po. I lay weak in the corner from his attack, helpless. Tai Lung grabbed a knife that was on the ground. He attacked Po and stabbed the knife in his chest.
"No!" I cried. Po lay lifeless on the ground. Tai Lung looked at me with a dark glare.
"This is what happens when people defy me." Tai Lung said. With a strike of his paw, Tai Lung knocked me out.
I found myself in a white wedding dress, standing before Tai Lung at the altar. Reality hit me when I realized I was being forced to marry him. I said my vows against my will. Tai Lung said his vows. The priest announced us as husband and wife.
A sense of dread and devastation washed over me as I walked down the aisle with my new husband.
At the reception, the Furious Five tried to help me escape.
"Go, Lana! Now's your chance!" Viper shouted. I nodded and took the chance to run. I kept running as fast as my legs could carry me. I kept running and running until I ran into the guards. Tai Lung stood in front of me with a smirk.
"Trying to run away, huh? Well soon, dear sister, you will learn what happens when you disobey me." Tai Lung said.
Tai Lung and his guards attacked everyone who was at the wedding. Some of the guards at the Jade Palace tried to fight off Tai Lung, but he was too powerful. They had no choice but to surrender.
"Now you will surrender, Lana." Tai Lung said. I had no choice but to surrender too. I put my hands up and kneeled down in front of Tai Lung. Tai Lung's guards had their spears pointed at my back.
"That's right. On your knees, Dragon Warrior!" Tai Lung said as he withdrew his own heavy blade. I closed my eyes, waiting for my death. The last thing I heard was the faint screams of Tigress before the blade plunged into my chest.
End of dream, Lana's POV:
I woke up with a startling gasp. I looked next to my bed and noticed that Tai Lung was not in bed with me. He must have been up already. I have been having nightmares since the day Tai Lung has taken me in captivity. I can't even have my own bedroom as my safe space because Tai Lung makes me share with him and does not let me have my own space. Like I said before, it is hard to get some alone time when you have a demanding husband.
I sat on my bed, thinking how much longer I would have to be married to Tai Lung for and how much longer until my dad's and the Furious Five would come to rescue me. Tai Lung has me well hidden in a small village so that it would make it difficult for them to find me.
To make matters worse, I am not allowed to go out anymore after the stunt I pulled at the movie theaters. I was lost in thought until Tai Lung came into the room, slamming the door open.
"Finally, you're awake." Tai Lung said. I didn't look at him when he gave me his next orders. "I am going to need you to make me breakfast. I'm hungry."
Tai Lung was annoyed that I was not looking at him, so he slapped me across the face. The sting hurt like hell from his slap. I covered my cheek in pain.
"LANA! LOOK AT ME WHEN I AM TALKING TO YOU!" Tai Lung roared. I looked at my husband with fright. It scares me the way he yells at me.
"Did you not hear what I just said?" Tai Lung said.
"N-No," I said nervously.
Tai Lung sighed with annoyance and said, "You will make breakfast for me. And you have 30 minutes to do so. Now get up. I am not going to repeat myself again."
I did as he said and got out of bed, not wanting to anger him any further. Tai Lung looked at me before he left the room.
"And Lana. From now on, you will always look at me in the eyes when I am talking to you, understand?" Tai Lung said.
"Yes, Tai Lung," I said quietly. Tai Lung gave a small grunt before leaving the room. I quickly got dressed and went downstairs to make breakfast. I had to be quick about it because I was on a time crunch. Tai Lung walked up to me while I was cooking. I hate it when he does this because it makes it harder for me to get the job done.
Tai Lung gripped my shoulders tightly. "Don't you dare burn the food." He said.
"I won't," I said. Tai Lung squeezed my shoulders painfully tight before going back to the living room. I started to sob quietly to myself. I wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Quit your damn crying!" Tai Lung yelled, making me jump. I did my best to stop crying. I hate him so much and I just want to go home. When I finished cooking, I set the plates on the table. I was hoping to get some alone time because I needed a break from my husband, so I took my plate and tried to go up to my room. I barely made it up the stairs when I heard Tai Lung's voice stopping me.
"Where do you think you are going?" Tai Lung said dangerously.
"To the room," I said nervously.
Tai Lung slammed his fist on the table, making me jump again. "You know the rules! You are not allowed to eat upstairs! Get your ass back down here or else no breakfast!" Tai Lung yelled.
"Okay, okay!" I said frantically. I quickly made my way to the table. Tai Lung growled at me as I sat down, making me nervous. I always get nervous when I am around him because he is so unpredictable, and he could lash out at any given moment without a warning.
Once again, Tai Lung criticized me about the food. I am tired of him constantly criticizing me. I am not some people pleaser.
We ate our breakfast in silence. I wasn't allowed to speak unless spoken to at the table. When we finished, I cleared the table and began washing the dishes. As I was washing the dishes, I felt something inside me snap. I couldn't take this anymore. I angrily slammed one of the plates in the sink.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Tai Lung demanded.
"I am fucking tired of this shit! I am not your fucking slave!" I yelled at him.
"What did you say?" Tai Lung said dangerously again, walking up to me with his arms crossed tightly over his chest.
I wasn't afraid to speak up this time. "I SAID I AM NOT YOUR FUCKING SLAVE TO BE LOCKED UP AGAINST HER WILL!" I screamed.
Tai Lung slapped me hard across the face, harder than last time which caused my head to snap back. "You will watch your mouth when you are around me, young lady! Perhaps a punishment will keep you in order." Tai Lung yelled.
Tai Lung proceeded to punch me, making my head slam against the counter. He punched me in the stomach.
"Take your shirt off." Tai Lung ordered me. I did as he said and took my shirt off. I panicked when he got the belt from the table.
"Wait, Tai Lung- I'm sorry I won't lash out again I promise I will be a good wife from now on!" I yelled.
Tai Lung whipped me. I cried in pain. "Too late for that. Actions have consequences, Lana." Tai Lung said, whipping me with the belt again.
"DON'T *Whip* YOU *Whip* DARE *Whip* LASH *Whip* OUT *Whip* AGAIN!" Tai Lung yelled. Tai Lung stopped for a minute, then whipped me about 15 more times. By the time we were finished, I was sobbing uncontrollably. My whole back hurt like hell. Why did Tai Lung have to abuse me so much?
Tai Lung got down to my level and gripped my chin. "Now did you learn your lesson?" Tai Lung asked me.
"Yes," I said.
"Good. Now you know never to do that again." Tai Lung said. I nodded in response. Tai Lung wrapped his arm around me and started kissing me. Tai Lung gave me more orders when he broke the kiss.
"Do the rest of your chores. You have till the afternoon to get them done." Tai Lung said.
"Please Tai Lung, my back hurts, can I have a-" Tai Lung cut me off before I could finish.
"What did I just say, Lana?" Tai Lung said.
"But my back hurts-" Tai Lung cut me off again and grabbed my wrist in a painfully tight grip.
"Lana, I swear if you don't do what I say then the punishment will be much worse than the last one." Tai Lung threatened. I sighed, knowing I had no choice but to obey. There was no point in arguing with him.
"Okay, I will get the chores done," I said.
"Good girl." Tai Lung said. Tai Lung grabs my waist and crashes his lips against mine. He licked the bottom of my lip, and I didn't let him in, so he bit my tongue. I gasped as his tongue was wandering around inside my mouth.
I don't know why but...
I LIKED IT A LITTLE!
