Chapter 2: Hiding Darkness
At HQ in Planeptune….
Uni, Nepgear and Uzume are sitting outside the chief's office.
"Those 3 CPUs!? They are horrible! They will pay for what they did to me! That redhead thinks she got the goods to best my sexy body!? With my husband!? This is unacceptable! This won't be end of me and Shandy!" The wife yells inside the chief's office. She exits the office with her best friend and they leave.
Uzume growls at them. "Hey hey. It's ok. Calm down." Nepgear tells her.
"You three! You can come in!" The chief says and Nepgear, Uni and Uzume step inside. The new chief? Compa.
"What do you want, Rookie?" Nepgear sighs.
"I'm your boss now! Nep-Nep gave me the role." Compa smiles. "You can't keep calling me rookie."
"Do you even know what you're doing?" Uni asked.
"I got Iffy helping me, don't worry." Compa smiles and pulls a folder out from her desk. "And look, I can't believe you slept with that woman's husband! She's the top seller on R18 island right now! What were you thinking!?"
"Are you telling me how to do my job?" Uzume folds her arms over her chest.
"I'm pretty sure we just uncovered the story of the century." Uni said.
"Someone is getting people this dark drink that drains their energy!" Nepgear says.
"Look, I'm sure this drink is just an alcohol beverage. It's nothing to worry about."
"The bullet that grazed my butt begs to differ!" Nepgear says. Compa sighs.
"Can we talk about the sniper now?" Uni suggests.
"That's right! The sniper. A serial killer is on the loose!" Compa pulls a document out and puts it on her desk.
"Wait? Really?" Uni is shocked that it is true.
"Good work, Uni." Nepgear pats her back. Uni blushes.
"We don't know much about her, but we do know she's claimed the lives of 3 people. All last named Burns. They aren't related either."
"Seems like an obvious pattern." Nepgear says to Uni.
"I guess?" Uni shrugs.
"Can you three work on this case for me. Please?" Ever since we arrested the chief, CPUs from other dimensions are on our radar for a full on investigation."
"What's that mean?" Uzume asked.
"They sending in a Goddess." Compa says.
The three look at one another and grumble. Nepgear takes the document and looks at it with Uni. They gasp seeing the detailed images.
"Everything you need on the sniper is on that folder. The victims, leads." Compa stated.
"AAARHG! Is anyone gonna say anything about that woman who stole my Water Car!?" Uzume shouts. Compa sighs.

The next morning:
Nepgear, Uni and Uzume are in their old car, looking at the document Compa gave to them. The three gasp as they see gruesome images of the victims. They throw the papers to the backseat.
"Well? Look at that. Detective Plutia is on the case." Uni says.
"One of the greatest undercover Goddesses of all time." Uzume smiles.
"A real Good Goddess. We should be more like her. So good with disguises." Nepgear smiles.
Uzume sees the friend, Shandy handing potion bottles to other people. "Look girls. Suspicious activity." Nepgear and Uni look at Uzume's direction.
"No kidding. I bet that dark drink is in those bottles." Nepgear says.
"Then let's bust her right now!" Uzume opens the door but Nepgear stops her.
"Uzume! No! We have to keep a low profile. We have to be secret." Nepgear tells her.
"Sorry." Uzume says. Nepgear backs up but Uzume forgot to close the door and it hits a pine tree and causes a scene. Beach people see them. Eventually they drive off across the water back to Planeptune.
"I don't think they saw us." Nepgear says and walks into the office.
"I hope not." Uni responds and follows.
"We need to come up with a plan." Nepgear tells Uni. The two head into their office as Uzume gets distracted.
"Don't worry ladies! I know….what to do?" Uzume sees a woman nearby. "Well? Never seen you here before. We don't arrest anyone that has….a figure like yours. But I must say. You sure got that look."
"Are you ready to shut up now?" The woman turns to face Uzume.
"There she is!" Uzume shouts.
SLAP!
"Well that's gonna cost yeah! You just assaulted a Goddess!" Uzume pins the woman to the wall and handcuffs her. She then pulls gloves on. "These are for my protection."
Nepgear, Compa and Uni rush over. "Uzume! No! She's a Goddess from another dimension to help us!" Compa says.
Uzume looks at the three with a confused look. "….Oh." She says as she pulls back her glove.
The woman? Chrome.
