Stuck outside the house, Mr. Nosy's mind was racing. A new neighbor! A new possible friend, he thought. He liked Mr. Small and wanted so badly to be his friend. But where did he come from? And why did he want to move to Dillydale?

He needed to know all these questions. But still for a while he didn't speak, coming up with more and more questions.

Finally, when the small Mr. Man came back out to get another box, he launched into the questions. "So where are you from? What made you want to move to Dillydale?"

He paused for a moment while Mr. Small hesitated with a box half in and half out of his house. "I'm not from around here," he replied, sounding careful about what he says. "But I heard Dillydale is great for adventures so I came here."

"You like adventures?" Mr. Nosy asked. "That's great! What do you think of the town so far?"

"I haven't seen much of the town yet," the small man answered, and he finished pushing the box into the house.

Mr. Nosy called from outside," Dillydale is great. I'm sure you're going to love it here. What was your old home like? Did you have many adventures there? How many friends did you have? There's tons of nice people here."

He realized a few questions in that Mr. Small had stopped answering any of them. But he kept asking questions as they came to him, burning with curiosity about this new Mr. Man.

He was still asking questions when Mr. Small came out again to get one of the last remaining boxes.

He turned to Mr. Nosy, a polite smile on his face. "Do you need to be somewhere right now?" he asked.

Mr. Nosy shook his head, confused at first. Then he noticed the look on Mr. Small's face, the look he often saw on his other friends' faces when he knew they had had enough of him.

He knew he needed to go before Mr. Small got too annoyed, even if he was too nice to snap at him to leave like some of his other friends do.

"Oh, actually, I do have somewhere to be," he said, beginning to back away. He turned, hanging his head. "See you later," he called over his shoulder and then started heading down the road, feeling sad and lonely. He hoped he didn't ruin his chance at a new friend.
