Chapter 1: The Crash
Hi, my name is Lana, and this is my story of The Lion King. Before we start, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I have lived with my family in Brooklyn, New York City since I was born. I am a 13-year-old girl. I have long brown curly hair, green eyes, and a white-toned skin color. I like wearing graphic T-shirts from my favorite movies and shows for my clothing style. I wear leggings and, in the wintertime, I wear hoodies and turtlenecks.
I am on a plane to go on vacation in Paris, France to go watch the 2018 opening ceremony for the Olympics. I am very excited because I have never been to the Olympic opening ceremony in person before. To pass the time I decided to watch the movie Frozen.
I was in a peaceful moment until the plane started experiencing some bad turbulence. I held onto the seat tightly as the plane bounced up and down. I was scared. I looked at my parents who were sitting next to me.
"We will be okay, sweetheart." My mom said, giving me a reassuring smile.
"I'm sure it's just some bad wind. It will pass by soon." My dad reassured me.
"I hope so," I said.
The plane did not stop bouncing up and down. Soon, the captain turned on the speakers and instructed us to put our seatbelts on. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Please remain seated with your seatbelts on. We are experiencing rough turbulence at this time."
The turbulence continued getting rougher and rougher. I held onto my mom and dad's hands tightly. Suddenly, the plane started falling down the sky fast. People screamed. The plane turned to chaos.
Everyone scrambled around the plane to try to escape. Some people jumped out of the exit doors.
"We have to go. Now!" My mom shouted.
"Okay, come on." My dad said, grabbing my hand. My dad carried me while my mom led us to the exit doors. But we were too late. The plane was already close to the ground. We had little time before the plane crashed. My parents pushed me towards the exit.
"Go, Lana! Go, now!" My mom yelled.
"But what about you guys?!" I protested.
"We will be fine. I promise we will be right behind you." My mom said.
"No matter what happens, we love you." My dad said.
"I love you guys too," I said with some tears in my eyes. I took a deep breath and made my escape, jumping out the exit door just in time before the plane hit the ground. Debrie flew in the air and smoke rose up in the sky. Small fires surrounded the plane.
I looked around for my parents and any survivors. "Mommy? Dad?" I called. I couldn't find any survivors. After a long time of looking, I finally found my parents. But they were lifeless.
No, no, no, no. This can't be happening. I thought in my head. I shook my parents to try to wake them up.
"Mommy, Dad, please wake up!" I pleaded. I sobbed as I checked for a pulse. There was none. My parents are dead. I began to cry loudly.
"Somebody, please help! My parents are dead!" I screamed. I continued crying and crying. After some time of being stranded here, I saw some lions running towards me. One of them had a brown coat with a tan belly. There was a diamond on her head and red eyes. The other lion had a golden coat with a black mane. He had green eyes.
I was scared that the lions were going to attack me. I backed up a bit. I was exhausted to fight back, though. I landed roughly on the ground. I felt my eyes closing. In a few minutes, I blacked out.
When I woke up, I noticed I was in some type of cave. I looked around to see that the lions from earlier were surrounding me.
"Are you okay?" The brown lion asked with concern.
"Wh-where am I?" I asked.
"You are in Pride Rock. I am Ahadi, King of the Pride Lands." The golden lion said in a serious tone. The golden lion gave me a stern look while the brown lion gave me a look of sympathy.
"I'm Uru. I'm Queen of the Pride Lands. What's your name?" The brown lion said.
"I am Lana," I said. I then realized that my parents were dead. The realization hit me like a brick of rocks. I began to cry again.
"What's wrong, honey?" Uru said.
"M-My parents. My parents are dead! They died in the plane crash." I sobbed with tears streaming down my face. Uru pulled me into a hug.
"Oh honey, I am so sorry," Uru said. I sobbed into her fur. Uru then asked me a question that surprised me. "How would you like to be a part of the family?"
"Uru, no!" Ahadi growled.
Uru glared at Ahadi. "Don't mind him." She said.
"What do you mean a part of the family?" I asked.
"I mean that we could adopt you," Uru said. My mind raced. A lion adopting a human girl? I was about to say something when Ahadi growled at Uru.
"Uru, I would like to speak with you. Alone." Ahadi said.
"Um, okay," Uru said nervously. I watched the two leave the cave. While they were talking, I got to meet Mufasa and Taka who are Uru and Ahadi's cubs. Mufasa had a golden coat with red eyes while Taka had brown fur with green eyes.
"Where did you come from?" Taka asked me with curiosity.
"The United States," I said.
"What is that?" Mufasa asked.
"Um..." I said. I didn't know how to explain it. I wasn't really in the mood to explain stuff right now because I was still processing my parent's death. After a while, Uru walked into the cave. She walked up to me and smiled. Uru was definitely a lot nicer than Ahadi.
"I have seen that you have already met my sons, Mufasa and Taka?" Uru said.
"Yeah," I said.
"I spoke with Ahadi. He has agreed to let me adopt you. So, you are now a part of our family." Uru said.
I smiled, but I was still sad about my parent's death. "Wow, thank you so much. But how did you get him to agree?" I asked.
"I was able to convince him. Don't worry, he will come around. Kids, let's make sure Lana feels welcome in this family." Uru said.
"Okay, Mom," Taka said.
"Welcome to the family, Lana." Mufasa.
"Thanks," I said.
Uru loved me like I was her own daughter. I still miss my mom and dad. Uru can't replace my parents, but I am glad she was willing to take me in.
A/N: Hey everyone, here is a new story. I hope you all like my rewritten version of my other Lion King story. I do not own any Lion King characters. The only character I own here is Lana. Anyways, please review. I am eager to know your thoughts on this story.
And I know this chapter was short but that is because it is the first chapter. I promise the other chapters will be longer.
Thank you guys for reading and have a good day!
