Caitlyn sat on her couch going over week emails, as she planned for a calm night in. As much as she wanted to focus on work, she found it hard, knowing she was going to confront Vi the following day. Still unsure what she would say, she was hopeful she would be able to say the right words when she saw Vi.
Just as she was settling into a response about a high crime wave on the south side, she heard a knock on the door. Caitlyn got up, wrapped her robe around herself, making her way to the door, grabbing the money she set aside for the food she had ordered earlier.
Vi could feel her heartbeat faster as she heard Caitlyn's footsteps near the door "Damn I forgot the rose", but it was too late to go back now. She readied herself for the unexpected.
Just then Caitlyn opened the door expecting to be greeted by the food delivery boy, who had become all too familiar with Caitlyn this passed week. Caitlyn looked up arm extended with the money in hand. "Vi".
Vi looked at Caitlyn with a smile, "Well cupcake I know I don't have a lot of experience in this department, but I think my services are worth more than that". As she pointed to the money in Caitlyn's hand.
Before Vi could get a verbal response, Caitlyn was throwing her arms around Vi's neck, almost toppling them both over. Caitlyn held on tight, as Vi wrapped her arms around Caitlyn returning the hug, only to be broken by the sound of a quiet "uh hem, Miss Caitlyn I have your order". Things started to settle down as they both laid in each other arms, quiet filling the room.

Caitlyn let the words leave her lips as a huge weight felt like it was being lifted from her shoulders.
Vi now sitting up, grabbed Caitlyn's hands as she looked into her eyes. "I won't deny it hurt, and I know I should have never said those things back to you that I did, and for that I apologize to you, but cupcake, I forgave you before I even came over here".
"Why, I don't deserve your forgiveness? I was awful".
"Because I'm in love with you to cupcake, have been for some time now".
Caitlyn looked up tears now running down her face. "Oh Vi". She reached forward holding her in a tight embrace.
Vi sat back, and pulled Caitlyn into her as she wrapped her arms around her. They sat back and began to talk like close friends once again.
As darkness came, they both laid their heads down holding each other tight.
Caitlyn spoke for the last time before they both surrendered to their exhaustion. "Vi, do you want to meet my dad"?
"Sure cupcake, that sounds great".
They both closed their eyes, finally excited for when morning would come, now having someone special to wake up to.
