There was still Two weeks left of Vacation Break and then Violet and Dash would be back to school.
Dash thought heavily about his actions and what led to him doing them, as he poured milk into his bowl filled with cerial, he glanced over at his Mom who was doing the dishes, her back turned to her children.
Jack Jack was up in highchair, looking over at his siblings, it being two years since the screenslaver the baby had grown a bit, and now the family was certain he was inheriting his mothers hair colour, which meant that Dash was the spitting image of his father and Jack Jack the image of his mother.
"Wheres Dad?" He asked, stuffing a mouth full of cerial into his mouth.
"Hes gone out with Lucius" Helen said.
"Ahh what? but he said he would help me with my school proj-" Dash's complaining came to a grinding halt when his mother turned around and gave him "the stare".
She went back to doing her thing but he just remained there, pouting, something that he had done alot of already.
Why his Dad was like this to him he had no idea.
The blonde boy glanced over to the window, thinking of what he could do to enjoy the day.
he saw the swimming pool, and was really convinced on doing it but when he saw the woods behind it, a woods that he loved to bits because it was so big, he decided on that.
looking back he saw his mom had gone, and when he saw the basket filled with dirty clothes were also gone he put two and two together and realized she was occupied.
turning to Violet who was reading a book, he tapped her gently on the shoulder.
"yeah?" she looked over at him.
"could you tell mom i went exploring the woods? ill be back by dinner" Dash grinned.
Violet just smiled aswell, she detested his childish antics two years ago, but now they just amused her.
The second she nodded a ghust of wind shot by her face and she noticed Dash had ran out at record breaking time.
the boy ran over the pool's water creating incredible ripple effects throughout it, he smashed through the thick bushes and was caught with the sight of mother natures beauty
Green paradise, sun shined through certain areas of the forest, there were squirrels running from one tree to the other, two racoons chased each other, one of them surely had to be the one Jack Jack fought when they first moved here.
He could be here for years.
Dash spent hours there, just walking around, feeling the cold air and enjoying the sights, he saw a small pond there in the middle of the forest that appeared undiscovered yet.
He was free for once, without anyone around to bother hi-
"Hello!" a female voice said from behind him.
"Gahhhh!!!!!" Dash screeched, stumbling back and falling into the pond.
When he got out of the pond and coughed up some water onto the ground, that was when he looked up, and caught the sight of a girl his age, she had medium sized short hair, some freckles and had the most beautiful green eyes he had ever seen.
"im sorry i didn't mean to scare you" the girl apologized, stretching her hand down to help him up.
Dash accepted the offer and his palm connected with her palm, a funny feeling occurred that he had never felt at all up until this point, he ignored it however and together he was up in his feet.
Now up on his feet he realized she was wearing a pink t shirt and grey shorts, sporting white sneakers aswell, something Dash lacked.
"are you okay?" The girl frowned.
"y...y...yeah im good" Dash smiled.
"that's good...well im Amy!" the girl said.
"Dash" He replied.
"Dash?" she asked, confused by the name.
"oh well its actually Dashiell but everyone calls me Dash" He explained, watching as she understandingly nodded.
He noticed she was glancing over at his socks and shoes, he had taken them off to dip his feet in the pond until she unintentionally snuck up on him.
"oh yeah...was just messing around and bored y'know" Dash explained.
The two sat there by that pond for what felt like forever, Dash had discovered Amy had moved into the house down the street from him two days ago, which is why he had never seen her before, she apparently lived in New York before her father got a job opportunity in Metroville city, leading them to move there.
"how about you...what does your family do for a living?" She asked, smiling.
oh boy, what should he say, he cant tell her he has powers yet, no no he cant tell her ever!
"my dad works in insurance and my mom stays at home taking care of me and my siblings" He explained.
"oh ive always wanted siblings" Amy grinned.
"really? i kinda wish i had the house to myself" Dash interjected.
They continued chatting, Amy helped Dash realize just how much he appreciated his sister and baby brother, not just them but his parents, he learnt that she was an only child, but always wanted a sibling, by the time they finished talking it the sun was starting to settle, and Dash knew he had to be back in time for dinner.
they walked back along a path and came across a intersection where the paths diverged into their own pathways, one leading down closer to Dash's house and the other to Amy's.
"hey...do you want to hang out tommorow?" Dash asked.
"yeah sure" Amy smiled, "same time?" she asked.
"yeah...same time" Dash stuttered.
"ok ill see you there Dashiell!" she giggled before running down her pathway.
As Dash walked down the trail back home, he smiled to himself.
At least these next three months wont be so boring after all.
