For the first time in months the sound of his alarm clock was actually comforting.
He quickly got changed and had breakfast before getting ready to go out into the woods, but before he could leave his mother stopped him.
"Dash...sweetie can i talk to you?" she placed a hand on his shoulder.
"yeah sure mom what is it?" Dash asked, in a rush given the time but he knew he couldn't escape his mother.
"I hope you know that this ban is not just some punishment? we just want you to learn and be better" Helen said.
"y...yeah i understand mom...and...im sorry again" the blonde apologized.
He knew everything was ok when his mom planted a kiss on his cheek.
"thats good, be back by dinner" Helen grinned.
and just like that he was off.
He ran up the trail and saw Amy sat under the large oak tree by the pond, reading a book.
deciding to use his powers, he ran all the way around without her seeing him, and appeared on the other side of the tree before greeting her.
"Hey Amy" He said walking around.
"Hello!" Amy smiled, "hows everything going?"
"G..great! so what do you want to do today?" Dash asked.
"i dont know...do you want to explore some more?" She asked.
"sure!" He grinned.
The two embarked off on their journey, they first looked into the ditches down by the pond, then making their way all the way back up they found themselves staring over a large creek, the rapid water smashing up and down as it made its way down, but what made it even more exciting to find was that it could be jumped over.
"Do you reckon i can jump this?" Amy asked.
"in all my experience of being a overexcited fuss to my parents...yes" Dash grinned.
She put her book down beside one of the smaller trees, adjusting her shirt before she charged forward, Dash could have mistaken her for a long jump contestant because the way she hopped over was incredible to say the least.
"your turn" she called from the other side.
Dash looked down and saw the running water, he was always an adrenaline junkie so he couldn't pass off the opportunity, seriously there was a time when he and his sister went on a rollercoaster and it malfunctioned, going around twice, everyone on there was screaming for it to be stopped but he begged for it to happen a third time.
He stepped back a few and positioned himself, he then began to jog and leapt off the edge "WOAH!!" He shouted as he landed on the other side.
Springing to his feet his eyes met Amy, and then they burst into laughter.
"That was awesome!" Amy giggled.
They just sat there laughing for a good minute, before Dash noticed Amy was looking up somewhere, it was the massive hill and the tree that was at the top of it, she could only see it through the small opening of the forest.
"Oooo cmon!" She yelled, snatching ahold of Dash's hand as the two began running up the steep hill.
it was only half way up that Dash realized his hand was connected to hers, then it hit him, he had done nothing but think about this girl since yesterday, no it couldn't be?
They got to the top of the hill and saw the lovely view, showing the rest of the forest, Metroville city and also the coast in the distance.
Dash could be there all day, they just laid underneath the shade of that big tree, looking up at the clouds in the sky whilst chatting about normal things.
"Say do you go to Metroville junior high?" she questioned, watching as Dash's eyes widened.
"Yeah i do are you going?!" Dash yelped.
"yeah im going there Next Friday" Amy smiled.
"i still find it weird that school starts again on a Friday" he rolled his eyes before laying back again.
"yeah but we have another two days off again known as the weekend!" She cheered.
They just sat there for hours, talking and getting along, Dash's confusion about how he felt about her only grew from there, and by the time the sun was setting the two were walking back home.
"so same time tomorrow?" Dash asked.
"oh thats what i wanted to say...im visiting family the rest of this week so...i will probably see you Friday at school" She batted her eyes in a apologetic way.
"oh...well thats ok i guess ill see you then" Dash smirked, then his eyes went wide.
Amy stretched her arms out and pulled him in for a hug, he felt a red tinge form on both of his cheeks, then she let go, waved and ran off.
a smile appeared on his face again, he waited until she was out of sight before using his powers to run all the way home.
