Treehouse, Night time
The group was still standing on the balcony of their tree house in utter shock.
There was really a camp fire and they were definitely not hallucinating.
This meant that they weren't alone on the island anymore.
"It can't be." Sammy whispered to herself.
"Am I hallucinating right now?" Ali asked to nobody in particular.
"I'm seeing it too." Brooklynn says disproving the hallucination theory.
"That is most def a bon fire." Kenji adds in.
"People." Sammy said quietly but excitedly.
"So someone actually caught the S.O.S signal." Ali said confirming his other theory from earlier.
"Let's go find them! It's time to go home!" Darius exclaimed excitedly as the others were just as excited and began to cheer and whoop.
Jumgle
The group was now running hard to the direction of the fire.
They carried their wooden planks for protection just in case.
They wore huge goofy grins and were cheering happily the entire time as they ran even harder.
"We're almost there I can feel it!" Sammy says excitedly as they kept running.
Brooklynn climbs up a tree as she was ahead of them, she had climbed the tree to see if they were getting closer.
She notices the smoke from the fire was just up ahead and she gasps.
"Yes! We're getting closer!" Brooklynn announced to group as she climbed back down to the ground.
They once again burst into cheers as they began running again.
The second person to climb a tree to see the difference in distance was Kenji now.
"We're almost there!" Kenji yelled as he got back down and they continued running.
"We're almost home! Come on guys!" Ali exclaimed as they all ran and leaped over a fallen tree like a hurdle race.
The others yelled and whooped at the thought of being home again.
They kept running all the way until Darius climbed up a tree to see how far they were now.
What he sees shocks him into silence. Darius looked at the area in surpise as the fire was no longer there and there was no sign of people.
Darius gasps quietly before climbing down the tree.
The others notice his down trodden look. "What's wrong Darius aren't we close to the fire?" Ali asked walking up to him.
"That's the thing, the fire is gone." Darius informs everyone as they all gasp and jump slightly.
"What if they left? What if the people who came to save us gave up and we missed our chance?" Sammy asked frantically as Kenji hugged her to try and calm her down.
Ali and Yasmina look at eachother with weary looks because the possibility of what Sammy just said was now fresh in their minds.
Brooklynn had walked over to Darius and began crying as he held her in his arms.
Suddenly everyone is put on edge as they hear a loud menacing roar.
They all yelp in fear and get into a circle defense formation.
The creature growls again causing them all to jump in fear as they had their planks readied for a fight.
"Could be a really big Compy, right?" Kenji asked hopefully with the evident fear in his voice.
"If a little Compy is dangerous, what makes you think a big one is any better?" Ali asked with a slight edge in his voice.
As Kenji was about to respond a Ceratosaurus runs out at them with a loud roar.
This was the same Ceratosaurus from the watering hole.
Unlike last time, they aren't at the watering hole so the creature wouldn't be as forgiving as before.
The sight of the Ceratosaurus causes them to yelp and run away scattering.
Yasmina and Ali ran in one direction, Kenji and Sammy in the other, and Brooklynn and Darius ran down the middle.
They all looked back frequently in fear of the beast that was chasing them at the moment.
After some running they eventually all regrouped and came to the middle where Darius and Brooklynn were running.
The Ceratosaurus was still hot on their trail as it roars loudly.
As they were running a branch came into view, Brooklynn ducks under it, Kenji however wasn't paying attention as he slammed face first into it and dropped his plastic knife.
Sammy who was running a little bit behind him trips on his head and falls.
Darius turns around to help her up as Ali runs to Kenji to help him up.
As they stopped this gave the Ceratosaurus a chance to close the gap as it roars and speeds up.
Brooklynn grabs her plank and stands at the front of the group with it ready.
"Okay come on!" Brooklynn yells back at the rest of them.
Darius and Ali got their planks readied with determined looks to stand at her aid.
As the Ceratosaurus came up to them it seemed like this was it, it was now or never.
The beast roars and attempts to finish them off but suddenly the sound of a flare goes off.
They look up to see a pink flare fly at the Ceratosaurus as it explodes in front of the dinosaur's face and causes it to be startled.
"Get down!" Yelled a voice as a man runs by Brooklynn and throws her behind a log with the others.
Brooklynn hits the ground with a gasp of slight pain.
Two other individuals appear to help the man with the Ceratosaurus, a male and a female.
Kenji is then thrown behind the log as well because he wasn't behind there with them at first.
They all watched in shock and awe as the man that saved them was shooting flares at the Ceratosaurus' head area causing the creature to get agitated.
The beast roars in pain and decides to give up as it turns and runs away.
Due to all the gun powder from the flares being fired the campers break out into a series of coughs.
Darius looks at them and gasps.
The woman turns to the campers with a look of relief.
"Thank goodness, you're okay." She said with a sigh of relief.
The group looked at these people with exasperated breathing and wide eyed expressions.
"You are okay, aren't you?" The man in the blue shirt asked concerned.
The guy in the camo gear walked next to him as he was sure there was no more danger now.
The kids still looked shook. "We're okay, but one question, who are you?" Ali asked in genuine curiosity.
"Well after all that maybe you should call us your salvation." The woman said looking at the other two in her group.
The kids still had shocked expressions on their faces.
"That explained so much." Ali remarked sarcastically as Yasmina elbowed him sharply causing him to groan.
Jungle
After getting over their stupor they began walking through the jungle to their saviors camp.
The camo wearing man let out a grunt as he slices a plant out of the way with his machete.
"We could not believe it when we saw your camp fire." Brooklynn said to the other two who were walking with them instead of ahead of them.
"Did you get left behind too?" Yasmina asked curiously.
"I don't think they would be dressed this nicely and...clean if they were also left behind Yas." Ali said as the others chuckled.
"Yea, are you like some super stylish rescue sqaud?" Sammy asked adding to the chuckles.
"Guys, take a breath we don't even know your names." Darius said to the two people.
"I'm Mitch, and my better half here is Tiff, we're eco-tourists." The man, now known as Mitch informed them.
"That's a fancy way of saying we travel to exotic places and photograph rare animals." Tiff adds in to help them if they didn't understand the word.
"I know Simon Masrani." Kenji says trying to one up them.
"Don't you mean knew?" Ali says as Kenji realizes that Masrani had died and looks down.
"We heard what happened here, and we were like zoop!" Mitch exclaims as he makes a foward motion with his arm.
"Zoop! Gotta get down here." Tiff said doing the same gesture.
"I was fine taking snaps of lions and tigers but..." Tiff trails off.
"Pics of dinosaurs in the wild? You don't pass that up, do ya babe?" Mitch asked as Tiff looked at him.
"I guess ya don't babe." Tiff responds as suddenly Sammy bursts out laughing causing Mitch and Tiff to look at her in concern.
"I travel too! Before we got stuck here obvi, you've seen my videos, Brooklynn unboxes the world?" Brooklynn asked as they now looked at her weirdly.
"The web channel?" Brooklynn asked only to get no response.
She then looks at them arms crossed with a neutral expression.
Tiff and Mitch then notice a shine coming from the left.
They turn to see Ali's chain flickering and the diamonds dancing in them.
"Woah, how did you get a chain with real diamonds in it?" Mitch asked in awe of the piece of jewelry.
"Well my cousin was a famous rapper and he obviously makes money off of that so he gave me the chain to wear here, he gave it to me so that all the spirits of my loved ones would protect me through it, it means more to me than just it being shiny or expensive, and the meaning behind the word 'capalot' is something I can show better than I can say." Ali informs them as Mitch and Tiff looked surprised that a teenager had that sort of mindset this young.
Yasmina smiles at him as she remembered what he told her the meaning of capalot was.
The group noted how he said 'was' and not 'is' when he was talking about his cousin, but they decided not to pry.
Darius then gets in front of the group as he walks backwards.
"When we activated the emergency distress beacon we hoped someone would get our signal, I kindof didn't believe it would work." Darius stated excitedly.
Mitch looked almost confused for a second almost like he didn't know what Darius was talking about.
"Ah yes the signal, honey remember when we got that, it was right after the boat dropped us off." Tiff said in a weird way.
The rest of the group who was behind them look at eachother as they were all suspicious of these two now.
Before anything can be said the attention is turned to camo man who was grunting loudly and aggressively as he cleared a path with his blade.
"That's our tour guide, Hap." Mitch informs them of his name.
"Came highly recommended, knows cameras and the outdoors like the back of his hand, but not much of a talker." Mitch adds in to give them a basic run down of how Hap operated.
"Almost there right, Hap?" Mitch asked as Hap gave no response and began mercilessly chopping the plants down again.
"Well that's cool and all but is there a reasons he's cutting through those plants like they took something from him?" Ali asked confused as to why the man seemed to have hatred for the plants.
Mitch just chuckles awkwardly as he had no response to that and they continued to walk.
They finally made it to the destination as Mitch moved the plants with his hands to bestow the camp upon their eyes.
Mitch Tiff's Suite/Camp
The camp had rocking chairs, a fire, very sizeable tents, a literal bathroom tent and best of all, food.
"Our camp's not much but I hope you're okay roughing it with us." Mitch said as they all looked at the camp in awe.
"Roughing it? This is more like living lavish." Ali said excitedly to Mitch and Tiff as all the campers cheered in joy.
"Out of my way! Out of my way!" Yasmina says as she shoved the others out of the way and ran to the middle of the camp followed by the others.
They stood around the fire and looked at the place in complete awe.
"Is this real?" Darius says as they then ran to check out another area in the camp.
It was a tent that had a soft looking white bed with a mosquito net on it.
Sammy gasps. "Even the mosquito net is luxurious." Sammy said in awe.
"This is what I imagined Kenji's penthouse would be like." Yasmina said in awe aswell.
"This is better though, you know since we aren't locked out." Ali said as Kenji looked at him deadpanned.
Ali and Yasmina chuckled at Kenji's expense as they walked over to the next place to check out.
"I see...brand names!" Brooklynn yelled getting a little grabby as Darius pulled her away to follow Yasmina and Ali.
Kenji and Sammy still stayed behind.
"It's fine, I guess, personally I would arrange the yurts in more of a, A-line config." Kenji says as Sammy chuckled at him and walked away.
When Kenji was sure he was alone he ran over to the bed and plopped down face first. He burst out into giggles of joy.
The others were now at the table that was in the middle of camp with plates set up.
Sammy notices a can opener on the table as she gasped and picked it up.
"A can opener, do you know how long I spent trying to open those cans of fruit we found." Sammy said dropping to her knees in exasperation.
Tiff takes off her hat to reveal her short blonde hair.
Tiff then lets out a smile at Sammy.
"It almost broke me." Sammy looked up in near trauma.
"It's okay Samster atleast we can get the cans open now." Ali said from the other side of the table as Sammy smiled at him.
"My goodness, I can't imagine how hungry you all must be, would you like some breakfast?" Tiff offers as they all looked at her with slack jaws.
Minutes later they are at the table eating said breakfast.
They were so hungry that they forgot all manners and were eating like animals.
The breakfast consisted of toast, bacon, and eggs.
Sammy ate loudly. "This is so good." She said with a full mouth.
Yasmina was simply grabbing all the food she could with the expression of a deranged woman.
Darius was talking to Tiff and Mitch as he ate which was extremely rude.
Kenji was licking his plate clean without a care in the world.
Brooklynn ate her bacon with a slurping sound.
Ali was sipping apple juice as he took a bite of toast and kept making 'mmm' sounds, it had been a while since they had some hood home-cooked meals.
"Then we escaped another dinosaur attack." Darius says continuing his story.
"So many attacks." Yasmina says between bites.
"And yet here you are, after all you've been through, camp destroyed, being abandoned, losing your friend." Tiff says as she huffs and fans herself dramatically.
This causes everyone to go silent and stop doing what they were doing as they looked down sadly remembering the loss of Ben.
Mitch puts his hand on Tiff's shoulder. "Don't be a downer, babe they're with us now and they're safe." Mitch announces as they gained happy looks once again.
"And when our boat comes back in a couple of days..." Mitch trails off.
"After it refuels in Popagayo." Tiff adds.
"After it refuels in Popagayo, we'll get you back to the mainland." Mitch said as they gained looks of shock and happiness.
"We're leaving in two days?!" Darius exclaimed elated.
"Wow, all these days spent stranded this seems almost surreal." Ali said in a tone of disbelief.
"Is this real?" Sammy asked in disbelief aswell.
Tiff puts a hand on Sammy's shoulder. "It is sweety, you're going home." Tiff says as they all began whooping and cheering in excitment.
They were finally about to get off this wretched island.
As all of this celebrating was going on Hap looked at everyone else with a tired expression.
Yasmina hugs Ali as she chuckles happily, he was caught off guard but shortly after he returned the hug with a chuckle of his own.
Brooklynn hugs Darius so hard that he almost fell out of his seat as they paused then giggled right after.
Kenji feeling on top of the world suddenly got a burst of energy and picks Sammy up spinning her around.
"Woah! Kenji!" Sammy yelled with a slight strain in her voice.
"Ahem." They turned to see everyone staring at them as Ali cleared his throat.
Sammy and Kenji both with bright blushes seperated and went back to their seats awkwardly.
Mitch nudges Darius getting his attention as he shows him his camera.
"You wanna see some pics of big five animals we took pictures of in Botswana?" Mitch said flipping through photos.
"Ohh wow." Darius says as Dave shows them a Lion and then an Elephant.
Kenji was sitting next to them but didn't see the big deal.
"The camera does the work for you, I've also got a JC 1000." Kenji said trying to look cool.
Darius paid him absolutely no attention.
Ali who was sitting across from Kenji felt almost sorry that Kenji was being ignored.
Kenji frowns at this. "Actually, I've got a JC 3000, prototype, never been on the mar-" Kenji is cutoff as Darius simply ignores him once more and continues to speak with Mitch.
"Got any dinosaur shots?" Darius asked in curiosity.
"Unfortunately not yet personally I had my sights set on the T Rex, can't wait to see it's craniofacial biting behavior in action, sorry I can be a bit of a nerd about dinosaurs." Mitch said apologetically.
Ali chuckles. "Well if that's the case you two are perfect for eachother." Ali says as Mitch looks at him confused.
"Craniofacial talk, I'll bite." Darius said lamely.
"Please, never do that again." Ali said repulsed by Darius' humor.
Darius didn't even pay Ali any mind directly, but he did apologize to Mitch because he realized how corny the joke was.
"Sorry that was bad." Darius said with an awkward smile.
"Looks like we both need muzzles." Mitch said as they began laughing hysterically.
Ali looked at Kenji with a 'what is this?' expression as Kenji gives no response he was still sulking about being ignored.
Ali just sighed and got up to go to another part of the table because this side wasn't for him at the moment.
He went to where Brooklynn and Hap were sitting which was the other end.
Brooklynn was talking Hap's ear off as Ali sat down.
"Sup Brook, what are you guys up to?" Ali asked as he noticed the annoyed expression on Hap's face.
"Nothing much, just trying to get to know Hap here." Brooklynn said with a smile as Ali nods.
Ali realized Hap was a man of very few words, which causes a question to form.
"Okay so what have you learned about him so far?" Ali asked Brooklynn weirdly.
"Um...nature places?" Brooklynn says chuckling as Ali deadpanned.
Brooklynn turns to Hap again.
"Well, Mitch said you were highly recommended, is this your first-" Brooklynn is cut off Hap suddenly slams his plate against the table in anger startling her.
He turns to her with an irate glare.
"No more questions!" Hap yelled out standing up as Ali got up right after he did in defense of Brooklynn.
"Aye man, what's your problem?" Ali asked getting in Hap's face.
Ali didn't care about the age and size difference between him and Hap, he was not about to allow someone to disrespect his friend right in front of him.
Hap realizing it would be best not to hurt these kids simply scoffs and goes back to eating.
Ali turns to Brooklynn who was looking down sadly as he sighed and sat back down patting her back to console her.
"It's alright Brook." Ali said as she nodded at him.
Tiff stands up. "Alright well, why don't you kids freshen up while we clear off the tables." Tiff says as they all looked at her.
"It's a little primitive, sorry, but in the bathroom yurt you'll find a solar powered shower and a heated toilet." Tiff said as Sammy got up immediately still drinking her tea.
After she's finished with it she walks over to Tiff and grabs her arm.
"I love you, it's fine if you don't say it back." Sammy said with a crazed expression before running off to the bathroom yurt.
Tiff turns and smiles at the others.
Suddenly Sammy runs to her again and grabs her arm which causes her eyes to open wide.
"Love you." Sammy whispered.
Sammy then actually makes her way to the yurt as she giggled and called everyone else over.
The two boys Darius and Kenji pushed out their chairs and made their way to the yurt.
Yasmina got up and walked to the yurt as well.
"Are you sure you're okay, Brook?" Ali questioned her as she nodded at him.
"It's fine, go on ahead, thanks for caring, All Star." Brooklynn said flashing him a smile.
Ali knew she was withholding her feelings, but he decided not to pry.
"Alright, meet us when you're ready, Superstar." Ali said as he put his hands behind his head and walked to the bathroom yurt.
Brooklynn then gets up as she drops something so she stops before even moving.
It was the card she found in the lab.
Brooklynn reaches down for it but then a hand gets to it before her startling her.
The hand belonged to Hap, he picked up the card and stared at it for a little.
"Hey, that's mines." Brooklynn says trying to get the card out his grasp.
No matter how hard she tried Hap's grip was too firm.
Brooklynn continued to struggle as the two looked directly into eachother's eyes with no intent to back down.
Luckily Hap just gives up and lets the card go.
"Brooklynn come on!" Darius yells from the yurt as Brooklynn walked to the yurt giving Hap one last weird look.
Hap stared her down the entire way back.
As Brooklynn makes it in to the yurt she realizes Sammy getting excited about the different luxuries in the bathroom.
"Pre-pasted toothbrushes? What are we royalty?" Sammy asked as she turns to another item and gasps.
"Four kinds of hand cream! Yay!" Sammy turns once again.
"Little soap peacocks!" Sammy exclaimed excitedly.
Kenji who was still jealous of Mitch and Tiff was sitting on the bathroom with a plate of food.
"Please, this is all so basic, if you guys had seen my pentho-" Kenji is cutoff as Brooklynn shushes them.
"I can't prove it yet but I think..." Brooklynn trails off as she goes to the yurt opening to check outside, she watches as Hap idly walks by.
Brooklynn then turns to her friends with a hardened look.
Now they all stood in the bathroom to have a...private conversation.
"There's something going on with Hap, he dodged all my questions, and was really weird about the keycard I found in Wu's lab." Brooklynn whispers as she pauses.
Yasmina takes the plate Kenji had and sets it down on a counter behind them, she was tired of his loud smacking.
"Mitch and Tiff are clueless, Tiff's too golly goodness to notice anything and all Mitch thinks about is dinosaurs." Brooklynn says as Darius looked slightly hurt.
"What's wrong with that?" Darius asked as Brooklynn realized her slip up.
"No I- ugh, I'm just saying Hap's suspicious, he's gruff and unsmiling and-" Brooklynn is cut off again this time by Yasmina who was frowning and crossing her arms.
"What's wrong with that?" Yasmina asked with a deadpanned expression.
Before Brooklynn can defend herself Ali interrupts.
"What if Hap is just a serious guy? Some people just isolate all emotions and personal feelings when they're doing their job maybe he's the same." Ali says trying to reason with Brooklynn, even though deep down he did have a problem with the man.
"I mean I guess you're right on that but there's still a chance he's doing something sketchy, could Hap be involved with Mantah Corp? Am I crazy?" Brooklynn asked looking at everyone else.
They all looked at her then at eachother.
"I mean, the Mantah Corp folks, were like corporate spies, not action man secret identity pew pew spies." Sammy said as Brooklynn looked away.
Darius hated seeing her like this. "Look, I know you've got conspiracy on the brain Brooklynn, but forget Hap, in two days, we're going home, let's focus on that." Darius said trying to cheer her up.
Ali side hugs Darius."Yea Darius is right no matter what happens atleast we'll be home and able to see our families again after all this time." Ali said as he smiled at her.
"Don't worry Brooklynn, just incase, we'll keep our eyes open." Sammy said reassuringly.
A little while later, Sammy is sitting on a chair getting a neck massage from Tiff, completely going against her previous claim.
Tiff must have been really good because Sammy's plan to keep her eyes open was void.
Yasmina was sitting across from them, she had her injured leg propped up on a chair Ali had put infront of her earlier.
'Wow way to keep your eyes open guys.' Ali thought to himself as he sat at the big table.
Tiff smiles at Sammy's reaction to her massage.
"Amazing right? I have a reiki healer back home who showed me a few tricks, miracle worker." Tiff said as she continued to massage Sammy's neck.
Brooklynn was sitting at the big table with Kenji, Ali, Darius, and Mitch.
Mitch was showing Darius his camera, Kenji just sat there bummed out and Ali sat there with a neutral look.
Brooklynn feeling betrayed by Sammy and Yasmina looks over at Yasmina with a look of distain, the look wasn't serious though.
Yasmina doesn't even notice since she had her eyes closed and was simply relaxing.
Brooklynn turns her attention to Hap who was walking out of the jungle with some bags.
She stared at him suspiciously as he walked behind a yurt.
Brooklynn gets up slowly to go after him.
Ali realizes this and gets up to stop her before she did something that would get them in trouble.
Hap makes his way to a secret yurt and kneels down.
Brooklynn runs up behind him and sees him kneeling.
She quickly ducks behind a blue bin to hide.
As Hap is unloading his bags Brooklynn looks determined to see what was inside.
Suddenly a hand touches her shoulder as she gasps and tries to yelp.
The person uses their other hand to cover her mouth.
"Relax Brooklynn, it's just me." Ali whispered as she calmed down and he let go of her.
Brooklynn turned and faced him with a slightly annoyed expression as she punched him in the arm swiftly, which elicited a small gasp of pain from the All Star.
"Ouch, what are you even doing here? You do realize the serious trouble we could get into if we get caught snooping around right?" Ali asked a little too loudly as Brooklynn shushes him.
"You don't want to know why Hap is moving so shady?" Brooklynn asked as Ali thought it over then let out a sigh of relent as he ducks behind the bin with her.
Brooklynn smiles as they both watch and try to figure out what Hap was up to.
Hap then starts to fidget with a camera and lets out a few grunts of struggle.
"Yup totally not weird that a guy on a photography job isn't good with cameras." Brooklynn said sarcastically.
Hap gives up on the camera and just walks into his yurt with it.
"We gotta get into that yurt." Brooklynn says turning to Ali.
Ali nods now realizing how suspicious Hap really was as they began divising a plan on how to get in.
Jungle
In the jungle Mitch, Tiff, and Darius were walking in hopes of seeing some dinosaurs.
Mitch kneels down and waves Darius and Tiff over.
"Look." Mitch says directing their attention to a Compy.
The Compy screeches and runs to the rest of it's pack.
Mitch gets his camera out to take a picture.
"Aww so cute." Tiff said making her way over to the Compies not knowing how dangerous they really were.
Darius gains a look of distress. "No, stop!" Darius yells as Tiff turns to him right as she was about to pet one of the Compies.
The little dinosaur hisses as she pulls her hand back.
It leaps at her and soon the entire pack does as they covered her body attacking her from all angles.
Tiff lets out a scream as Darius and Mitch look on in fear.
"Hey! Over here!" Darius said raising a candy bar into the air gaining the Compy pack's attention.
He then throws the candy bar as they all leave Tiff alone and run towards where he threw it.
Tiff panted exasperatedly as Mitch and Darius run to her.
Mitch hugs her as she returns it.
"That was close, they look cute but they actually have trace amounts of..." Darius trails off.
"Venom in their bites, quick thinking D, how did you know that would work?" Mitch asked impressed.
"I may have been keeping a log of their scavenging, and other dinosaur behavior, I mean it's not much." Darius said as he handed Mitch his book.
Mitch opened the book to see drawings and facts about dinosaurs, Tiff also reads them over his shoulder.
They both smiled at eachother before turning to Darius. "This is incredible Darius." Mitch said in awe of Darius.
"And Yas drew the pictures, pretty great right?" Darius asked with a giddy grin.
"We haven't seen even a tenth of the dinosaurs you have, maybe we've been looking in the wrong places." Tiff said as she now had the book flipping through it.
Mitch walked up a little ahead of where they stood.
"We've only got two days to see these magnificent animals, when the legal battles end and this park closes for good, what will all of this have been for." Mitch said in a down trotten tone as he watched the Compies fight for the candy bar.
"Will it still mean anything to anyone?" Mitch finished sadly.
Darius walks up besides him with a sad look.
Darius then gains a look of determination as he looked up at Mitch.
"Hey, two days is still plenty of time to explore, in fact I know a place not too far from here that will blow your minds, you in?" Darius asked to Mitch anf Tiff who just walked up to him nodding.
Before they could even respond they hear a siren sound coming from the camp startling them.
"Oh no." Mitch and Tiff said simultaneously.
Camp
Brooklynn and Ali back away from the yurt covering their ears from the siren.
"Seriously, he has a whole security system on a yurt?" Ali asked rhetorically.
"You!" Hap yells as he emerges from the bushes.
"Step away from the yurt!" Hap yells as he goes to grab Brooklynn as she flinches.
Her eyes widen in disbelief as she expected Hap's hand to grab her, however she didn't feel anything happen.
Ali had grabbed Hap's hand and held it away from Brooklynn.
"You lay hands on my friend, and I lay hands on you." Ali said in defense of his friend as he stared Hap right in the eyes.
Hap growls and rips his hand out of Ali's hold as he glared at them.
"What's going on?" Tiff asked as she, Mitch, and Darius run out from another set of bushes.
"Isn't it obvious, the smart ass and the chatty one were trying to sneak into the yurt." Hap explains as Brooklynn crosses her arms and Ali was still making eye contact with Hap.
"These kids can't go snooping around in private spaces!" Hap finishes as he keeps his stare down with the two kids going.
"Now now Hap, I'm sure it was all a misunderstanding." Tiff said grabbing haps arm.
"Do your self a favor, and stay out of my yurt." Hap said menacingly as he jabbed his finger at them.
Tiff begins dragging Hap away.
"Oh was that a threat? A lot of talk from someone that's scared to actually do something." Ali responds making Hap even more infuriated as he growled at him.
Hap then tried to get out of Tiff's grasp to go after Ali but Tiff held firm and kept him back.
Now it was Brooklynn's turn to hold Ali back as he was ready to fight as well, she didn't want this to get physical.
Tempers were already flaring, and someone was bound to get hurt if a fight broke out.
"Alright Ali, let's calm down." Brooklynn said as she made him back up a bit.
"Let's talk about this calmly, okay?" Tiff said dragging Hap away from them completely.
Everyone else besides Darius and Mitch walk behind Brooklynn and Ali.
"Sorry about that, it's our first time working with Hap and he's very protective of his yurt." Mitch says to Ali and Brooklynn.
They look to see Hap still staring Ali and Brooklynn down as Tiff was trying to calm him down.
"Set it up himself, moved all the equipment in, hasn't even let us in." Mitch informs them.
"Ha! See? See?" Brooklynn asked to everyone but Ali.
"Maybe we should postpone our trip you've all been through a lot..." Mitch says to Darius.
"Especially that one." He whispers the last part pointing towards Brooklynn.
"No, it's fine, Brooklynn won't touch the yurt, and we'll all go to the place I wanted to show you." Darius said as Brooklynn walked up to him.
"Uh Darius I think maybe we should 'freshen up' before we decide that." Brooklynn said in a strained tone.
"We already freshened up." Darius responds in a strained tone aswell.
"Can never be too fresh!" Brooklynn retorts as Darius deadpanned at her.
"Yet another bathroom team meeting, woo." Ali says as the others sighed exasperatedly.
Bathroom Meeting
"There isn't anywhere else we could talk?" Yasmina asked incredulously.
"Hap is hiding something! Why put an alarm on a yurt!?" Brooklynn asked/yelled.
"Usually I don't agree with Brooklynn's conspiracy theories but that is pretty suspicious guys." Ali said in agreement with her.
"Uh, the alarms are most likely so a dinosaur or you two can't sneak in and wreck his stuff." Yasmina explained. making a valid claim.
"I guess that isn't a bad claim, but seriously out of every yurt here that's the only one that has an alarm? Not even Mitch and Tiff's? Yea not buying it." Ali responds crossing his arms.
Darius scoffs. "Typical." He said with an annoyed look.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Brooklynn asked feeling a bit disrespected.
"I didn't expect something like this from Ali, but from you it's typical, you just can't let this conspiracy stuff go huh? And for what a new video to boost your followers?" Darius questioned as he was annoyed.
"Who said anything about followers? You think I'm doing this to get attention?" Brooklynn asked as Darius threw his hands in the air.
"Yes, that's your whole deal, you're mad Mitch and Tiff haven't heard of you and now you're doing this!" Darius whispered/yelled.
"Okay guys we're getting off tra-" Ali tries to break up the feud but Kenji stops him by shushing him.
"You never break up a couple fighting, unless you want them both attacking you, trust me, I have experience." Kenji said with a shiver as Ali looked at him deadpanned.
Brooklynn and Darius weren't even a couple...were they?
"And what's your whole deal Darius? Dinosaurs? You care more about them than actual people!" Brooklynn shouted as they got in eachother's faces.
"That's hilarious, you calling me selfish." Darius retorts scoffing.
"You're obsessed, just because Mitch is acting all cool dad with you." Brooklynn's final statement was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Darius' eyes immediately widened in shock and pain.
Everyone else looked at her with widened eyes aswell.
"Oh..." Brooklynn says realizing her mistake. Darius looks down slightly.
"No Darius, I didn't mean-" Brooklynn is cutoff as Darius turns on his heel and walks out of the bathroom yurt without saying a word to her.
Everyone watched him leave with distressed looks.
"Not cool superstar." Yasmina says as she walked out followed by the others except Ali.
Darius walks past Tiff in an irate manner.
"Um, what about your other two friends?" Tiff asked Darius.
"Don't worry about them, they're doing their own things." Darius says looking back to see Ali and Brooklynn exit the yurt.
Brooklynn watches as the others left to the place where Darius wanted to take Mitch and Tiff.
Brooklynn sat at the table with a look of depression marring her features, and silent sobs were heard from her.
Ali watched as she sat at the table by herself looking down sobbing slightly.
He then pulls out the seat next to her and sits in it.
Ali picks her head up and wipes the little tears that were forming.
"Pretty girls shouldn't cry Brooklynn." Ali said trying to make her feel better.
"Why aren't you going with them? They're mad at me, not you." Brooklynn said as her voice trembled because she was on the verge of crying.
"I could just leave, but then what kind of brother would I be if I left my little sister here all by herself as she was clearly going through a rough time." Ali said as Brooklynn had a shocked expression.
After a while her expression turned into one of happiness.
"Thanks Ali." Brooklynn said wiping a few more tears that were forming by herself.
"Anytime Brook anytime." Ali responds with a grin.
"Don't you think I'm a bad person though? I mean look at what I just did." Brooklynn asked now feeling guilty as she put her head down.
Ali pushes her chin upwards, making her raise her head up once more.
"It's okay Brook, sometimes we all say things when we're in the heat of the moment, I know you didn't mean it, just give it time and you'll see everything will be okay, might want to apologize when you get the chance though, and until then just keep your head up Brooklynn." Ali said with his patented good guy grin as she returned a fond smile.
"Hey Ali, I have one last question." Brooklynn stated.
"Shoot." Ali responded.
"Why were you willing to defend me against Hap, even though he's twice your size?" Brooklynn questioned.
The pinkette had a point, even though Ali was tall for his age, being 6'1 at 15 and all...Hap was about 6'5 or 6'6 and had atleast 50 pounds on Ali.
"Well Brooklynn, it all starts with the meaning behind the phrase 'capalot.'" Ali explained.
"It means I'd do the most for my friends." He continued as Brooklynn once again smiled.
"That's really sweet of you." Brooklynn complimented him.
"Thanks, but back to my story, the day I really began taking it seriously was June 27th, 2012, I was only eleven years old, I'd turn twelve in about a month." Ali began.
"My friends, Rihanna and Daan always played basketball with me in the summer, it was pretty fun, even though Daan had trouble with his hearing." Ali said as he looked down solemnly.
Brooklynn frowned at this, she always hated hearing about people with disabilities, she felt as though they had been wronged since birth.
"But we still had fun regardless...but the devil was always lurking, this time in the form of our biggest bully...Leroy Jenkins." Ali explained.
Flashback
A eleven year old Ali was on his way to the park as he practiced his handles.
His face was evidently less mature and he had no dreads, just an afro with twists.
He wore a white T-shirt that said 'POLO' on it in black bold letters, his shorts were plain black jordan shorts.
Ali topped off his outfit with red retro Jordan ones.
"Damn it, I already know Rihanna is about to be on my case for being late, again." Ali said about his female best friend.
Present
"Wait, what were your best friends like?" Brooklynn questioned him.
"Well Daan was from Haiti, and he was a funny dude, Rihanna was from Barbados and she was often sassy but she was a really good friend to have on your side." Ali explained to Brooklynn.
"They sound like great friends." She stated sincerely.
"You have no idea...but as I was saying." Ali said as he continued the story.
Flashback
As Ali neared the park he heard screaming and loud noises coming from there.
"What the hell?" He questioned as he sped up until he reached his destination.
Ali ran into the park and immediately noticed Daan being bullied by Leroy and his group of goons.
Rihanna was trying to get him to stop but there wasn't much she could do, Leroy was fifteen years old, he was definitely on the heavier side, easily over 270 lbs and about 6'1.
Ali had seen enough. "Hey Leroy!" Ali shouted at the bigger teen.
Leroy and his goons immediately turned at the sound of Ali's voice.
"Well look who decided to show up, the lil bitch from Flatbush, didn't I tell you and your friends to stay off my court, lil man?" Leroy questioned with venom lacing his words.
"This isn't your court, let Daan go." Ali demanded.
"Or else what? Are you going to make me? Pussy." Leroy taunted as him and his goons laughed at him.
Ali looked at Daan's scared expression, and then to Rihanna who wore a weary one.
He clenched his fists and grit his teeth as he tossed the ball he was holding to the side.
"You call me a pussy, but you're too scared to actually do something to me." Ali taunted as everyone else in the park let out a drawling 'ohhhhh.'
Leroy frowned deeply and dropped Daan without a care for his safety.
Rihanna quickly ran over to Daan as she checked him for injuries.
"It's okay Dan-Dan shh." She tried to calm her friend down since he had began crying, it wasn't much help since he could not hear her but she wasn't thinking rationally.
Leroy was not worried about them anymore, he was now focused on the smaller kid in front of him.
Even though Ali was only about 5'6, he was either very brave or very stupid, or a bit of both.
"Do you want to repeat what you said, bitch?" Leroy questioned Ali as he advanced him.
What happened next caught everyone off guard, Ali didn't know what was happening, but it was as if his body wasn't in his control.
As soon as Leroy came within striking distance Ali reared back and punched him square in the face, this caused the bigger teen to reel back a bit.
This move caused a loud eruption of noise from everyone in the park as people started cheering Ali on, someone had finally stood up to Leroy.
Others were calling him stupid, punching Leroy Jenkins in the face would not end well for anybody.
Ali however made the mistake of trying to lift Leroy up by the legs and slam him, but Leroy was way too heavy for that.
The bully was easily able to get Ali to the ground and overpower the smaller kid.
It was all over but the whining now as Leroy began to rain down on Ali with his forearms in an ape like way.
Ali tried to cover his face, but he was still smashed there atleast three times and his midsection was wide open so Leroy got him with some very lethal body shots as his body bounced against the concrete with every hit that landed.
Ali was not sure how much more his small frame could withstand, Leroy's punches were extremely heavy and it felt as though he wasn't able to breathe.
"Okay Leroy that's enough! Stop!" Ali heard a female voice shout, it wasn't Rihanna.
It was Leroy's girlfriend, Kayla, she was such a nice girl, nobody understood how she got with someone like Leroy.
As Kayla continued to beg her boyfriend to let Ali up, he finally complied and stood up off of him.
Ali looked up at him as he breathed heavily, two marks were now on his forehead area due to the punches.
He almost let out a smile as he noticed the blood leaking from Leroy's mouth and nose, atleast he got something out of it.
Kayla looked down at the younger teen with a saddened expression as she mouthed 'sorry' to him.
Leroy noticed her quiet apology as he growled and kicked Ali hard in the chest before swiftly turning and walking away, his goons following behind.
Kayla hesitated for a bit, but she soon turned and followed Leroy and his gang.
Rihanna and Daan were sniffling as they walked over to their battered best friend.
Everyone that had watched the situation unfold either turned away, or walked away from the scene.
An older individual walked over to Ali as he looked down at the kid.
"You're really brave kid, but ya stupid, your guts might get you killed one day." He said before walking off.
"So I've been told." Ali said to himself.
"Ali? Are you alright?" Rihanna asked in concern.
"Yea." He groaned out in response.
He then began standing up, albeit with a lot of effort due to the beating he just recieved.
Ali faced Daan as he breathed heavily.
"You okay?" Ali signed to his deaf friend as Daan nodded in response.
"Good, now let's hoop." Ali signed as they all hugged eachother.
"That's what I like about you Ali, you always do the most for us." Rihanna said as she smiled at the young All Star, he returned that smile ten fold.
The three then separated as they shared small smiles all around.
"For you guys, anything." Ali said as he signed it as well for Daan to understand.
"Thanks, capalot." Rihanna said as she went to retrieve the ball.
"Now are you ready to get cooked? Or do you wanna sit this one out?" Rihanna taunted her semi-injured friend.
"Pssh, in your dreams riri." Ali said as they began playing.
Present
Brooklynn had looked almost heartbroken by that story.
She then looked at Ali's forehead area...the two scars were still there, how had she not noticed them before?
"Brook, are you ok-?" Ali is cutoff as Brooklynn latched onto him with a strong embrace.
Ali was caught off guard for a second but he returned the embrace.
"That was really nice of you, not a lot of people would stand up to someone three times their size, even if you got beat up, you're still a hero." Brooklynn stated sincerely as they separated
"Thank you Brook, I'm just glad I left that bastard with something to remember me by." Ali said with a smirk.
Brooklynn smiles and hugs Ali once more.
Brooklynn gains a look of determination as she gets up and grabs his arm.
"Come on, even if Hap reset the alarm, I can disarm it." Brooklynn said running off dragging Ali who looked at her in confusion.
Ali runs up to her side as they made their way to the yurt.
"I know I said give the Darius thing time, but that doesn't mean we pass the time by sneaking into that mad man's yurt again Brooklynn." Ali said to her deadpanned.
"I know but once I prove I'm right, Darius will have to forgive me." Brooklynn says running ahead.
Ali sighs. "And once again I am caught in a Brooklynn mystery mission." Ali says to himself as he ran after her.
As they make it to the yurt Brooklynn pulls the blind back only to yelp in surprise.
There standing right before them was an irate Hap.
"Mitch and Tiff asked me to go with them, but I said 'nahh I'll make sure those two don't get into any more trouble' let's not make this anymore hard than it needs to be." Hap said grabbing both of them by their shoulders.
Ali shoots him a glare as Brooklynn looks up at him warily.
"You're lucky I don't want to cause more trouble otherwise that hand you have on my shoulder might not still be attached to your body." Ali said glaring at him.
Hap smirked at him. "You know, I like your spirit, even though you're a bit of a smart ass, you're alright for a kid, but you have no idea who you're messing with." Hap said as he began ushering them to the table.
Jungle
Darius led the rest of the group along with Tiff and Mitch to the place he told them about.
"You guys are gonna love this place, it's just up here." Darius says to Mitch and Tiff as they look on in awe.
They were watching a Brachiosaurus herd graze.
Mitch and Tiff began taking photos of these majestic creatures.
Darius then began imitating the Brachiosaus' roar as one turns it's attention to them.
Mitch hugs Darius' shoulder with a proud dad smile marring his face.
The Brachiosaurus stands right over them as they smiled at it.
Then both Mitch and Darius imitated the Brachiosaurus roar.
The Brachiosaurus walked away after a little while.
"If you think this is cool, there is one more place we can go." Darius said handing him the book.
"A watering hole?" Mitch asked to himself as the picture on the page depicted a watering hole with various different types of dinosaurs.
"Just my favorite place on the island, I mean getting that close to so many herbivores and carnivores, and nobody's fighting." Darius listed off with a grin.
"You could get lots of good pictures there, there's so many dinosaurs!" Sammy announced.
"Babe, what would we do without this kid!" Mitch exclaimed excitedly.
"Let me radio Hap with a change of plans." Tiff says as Mitch ruffles Darius' hair.
Camp
Back at the camp Brooklynn and Hap were having yet another staring contest as they sat in two different chairs across from eachother.
Ali deciding to get some rest, used Brooklynn's shoulder as a pillow and was fast asleep.
Maybe it was the silence or Ali sleeping but Brooklynn soon found her self falling asleep aswell as she began dozing off.
After a bit of fighting she succumbs to sleep as she leans her head back into the seat.
Beep* "Come in Hap, Hap come in." Said the voice of Tiff over Hap's radio.
Hap picks up the radio and walks off.
After hearing his footsteps slowly die out Brooklynn opens one eye to see him walk behind a yurt.
When the coast was clear she smacked Ali's face slightly to get him up.
Ali woke up in confusion as he looked at her.
"What's happening?" Ali asked with a yawn.
"Come on, now's our chance!" Brooklynn yells/whispers as she drags him by the arm to sneak away again.
As they were walking they overhear Hap on the radio as they duck behind the yurt.
"No, you listen, I'm done, this isn't a threat, this is a promise, stay out of my way, I'll take care of these kids myself!" Hap yells at Tiff and Mitch through the radio.
Brooklynn was about to say something but Ali shushes her and points to the left as they run away from the area.
Hap drops his radio and walks back to camp.
He notices Brooklynn and Ali were gone.
This causes him to gasp as he turns to his left and sees them running into the jungle.
Hap then menacingly walks after them.
Jungle
Back with Darius and others Tiff runs up to Mitch urgently.
"Babe?" Mitch questioned her.
"You know babe I think we should pack up and head back to camp." Tiff says rubbing the back of her head.
"Uhh what's going on?" Yasmina asked in confusion.
"Oh nothing big, just an odd conversation with Hap." Tiff says as Kenji narrows his eyes.
"How odd was the conversation?" Kenji asked as Tiff ignored him.
"Why don't we go, now, okay? Okay." Tiff said as she grabbed Mitch's hand and then began walking back to camp.
The campers looked confused.
"Do you think?" Sammy asked to nobody in particular.
"I'm sure everything is fine." Darius said as the other three looked at him weirdly.
Camp
Back at camp they were all searching for Brooklynn, Ali, and Hap.
"Guys!" Yasmina yelled out.
"Brooklynn! Ali!" Kenji yelled out.
"They're not in the bathroom either." Sammy said as she just checked.
Yasmina's eyes widened slightly. "Why would they be in the bathroom alone!?" She shouted at Sammy, who could only blink in response.
Tiff gains their attention before the conversation could continue.
"Children, Mitchell and I are gonna have a quick grown-up conference, you stay put we'll brb, k?" Tiff said grabbing Mitch and walking off as they spoke incoherently.
The kids watched them walk away in confusion.
Jungle
In the jungle the only thing that was heard was panting and footsteps as Brooklynn and Ali ran from Hap who was hot on their tails.
Brooklynn almost trips from exhaustion. Ali looks over at her.
"No matter what just keep running!" Ali yelled as they sped up.
They kept running and panting frantically as they looked back to see Hap with an almost deranged look on his face chasing them still.
They then jumped over a log that was in the way which slowed them down a little but they got up and kept running.
Hap also leaps over the log but in one bound instead of pushing over like they did.
Hap finally closes the gap and grabs a hold of Brooklynn's arm as she yelps.
Brooklynn elbows him causing her to be let loose however her momentum causes her to fall into Ali's legs tripping him as he yelps and they both fall.
They both sat up and turned to Hap who looked angrier than ever.
"I told you to stay put!" Hap said walking towards them with an electric stick.
Brooklynn and Ali gasp and back up in fear.
"You have no idea who you're deali- ack!" Hap is suddenly smacked over the head with a branch as he falls to the ground out cold.
Ali and Brooklynn gasp and look up to see the culprit.
It was...
"Ben?" Ali and Brooklynn asked
at the same time.
A large Ankylosaurus runs up behind him and roars.
This was Bumpy she had grown a lot in that short time.
"What? You never seen a ghost before?" Ben asked smirking at their shocked expressions.
