Jungle
Ali's eyes were wide as he and Brooklynn looked at Ben who was smirking at them.
Brooklynn still sat on the floor dumbfounded. Ben was alive?
"But how?" Ali asked in confusion.
"Well..." Ben trails off as he began telling them his story.
Flashback
"Woahhh!" Ben exclaims as he was dangling at the side of the monorail being held up by one hand, as Darius struggled to hold on to him.
After a bit of struggle, it was all for nothing Ben still lost his grip and fell to the forest floor.
Darius gasps as he and the others watch as Ben fall.
What they failed to realize is that instead of hitting the forest floor Ben was actually caught by one of the Pteranodons right before he hit the ground.
Realizing this, Ben began to scream and flail his arms around to get out of the Pteranodon's hold.
Another Pteranodon flies and steals Ben from the one that was carrying him.
The first Pteranodon chases after the one that stole Ben to get what belonged to it back.
Ben kicks at the Pteranodon as it was pecking and biting at him.
This causes him to get released from the other Pteranodon but it backfires a little because the first Pteranodon didn't get a hold of him so he simply fell out of the sky.
Ben finally hits the ground and lands with a thud as he loses consciousness and blacks out.
Morning
Ben was blacked out for the rest of the night as it was now morning time.
He is sleeping until he feels a moist rough object rub against his face.
Ben blinks a few times to see what creature had counfused him for an ice cream cone.
As he gets up he pushes his attacker back a little so that it would stop licking him.
Ben drowsily looks up at the creature.
His vision was a little blurry, probably due to just waking up and hitting his head against the floor from that high.
When he gets a good look at the creature he realizes it to be none other than Bumpy.
Bumpy tilts her head at him cutely and bleets at him.
Ben's eyes widened as he hugs Bumpy tightly causing her to bleet in surprise, but she eventually just relaxes in the embrace.
"Oh Bumpy, Bumpy, Bumpy." Ben says on repeat, happy to be reunited with his friend.
Ben then looks around realizing she was alone.
"Where's everybody else?" Ben asked in confusion.
He kneeled there realizing he was all alone minus Bumpy ofcourse.
Ben then stands up.
"Darius! Ali! Guys!" Ben calls out as he walked foward tripping but catching himself before he fell all the way.
"Help! Anybody! Help!" Ben exclaimed in terror.
Suddenly a small snap is heard in the distance causing Ben to jump and cower in fear.
Suddenly all the noises of the jungle were more vivid as Ben looked around panting frantically at the different noises
He then sets his sight on a Compy.
The little Compy screeches at him.
Ben then turns to the other direction as he heard more screeches.
Then suddenly even more Compies popped out of the other side.
They all began hissing and screeching at him as they advanced him.
Ben stands up and cowers in fear.
As the Compies close in Ben gets even more scared and just lays down and cowers.
Suddenly Bumpy lets out a loud roar(well not extremely loud, but pretty loud for a baby Ankylosaurus).
She then runs at the Compy and bumps them away from Ben.
She then hits all of the rest away with her tail defending her friend.
Ben sits up in shock that Bumpy defended his life like that.
Bumpy stands in front of Ben protectively to make sure the Compies don't come back to mess with him.
Ben pulls the baby Ankylosaurus to him and lays his head on her undeveloped armored back.
"Thanks Bumpy." Ben said quietly but sincerely.
Bumpy simply bleets in response.
"Okay, okay, this is going to be okay, they'll come save me right?" Ben asked forgetting he was talking to a dinosaur.
Bumpy bleets in confusion.
"Right, they don't even know where I am, they must be waiting for me at the ferry..." Ben says trailing off as he pulls Bumpy back because she tried to walk away.
"So, we just gotta get to the ferry." Ben says with a smile.
Then realization dawns on him.
"How are we gonna get to the ferry?" Ben asks himself this time.
"Oh the map!" Ben exclaims standing up as he was about to reach into his fanny pack.
He taps the area where it normally is but realizes it was missing.
"No pack, no map, no snacks, no hand sanitizer!" Ben yells as he drops to the ground again holding his head in frustration and fear.
Bumpy bleets in distress at this.
"Okay, this is bad, this is worse than bad this is..." Ben trails off.
He then faints, no explanation or signs of fatigue, he just faints.
It is now later on in the day as Ben is waking up because of the Sun, which is much brighter now since it was no longer morning time.
Ben hears a low roar as he jolts up with a girly scream.
He looks over to see it was only Bumpy doing something.
Ben lets out a heavy sigh of relief. Ben then sits and folds his arms across his knees.
"There's no way the ferry is still waiting, they must have gotten off the island by now, good for them." Ben says as Bumpy runs over to him and nudges him.
"They must think I'm dead, gotta find a way to tell them I'm alive." Ben says before his face lights up with an idea.
Ben stands up as he looks down at Bumpy.
"That's it, there's an emergency beacon on the island, and guess who knows where it is Bumpy, that's right me!" Ben exclaims pointing at himself.
"I knew memorizing emergency manuals would pay off one day, okay, first let's figure out where we are." Ben says as he and Bumpy began walking through the jungle.
As they were walking Ben was moving extremely anxious.
He then spots a very tall tree.
"Bet you can see the whole island from up there." Ben says looking up at the tree.
"Okay, I'm going to climb this tree, Bumpy, I'm gonna climp this tree." Ben says to Bumpy who bleets in response.
Ben then does a few stretches to loosen up.
After he's finished stretching he begans the climp only to jump back with a yelp of pain immediately.
"Ow, got a sliver, got a sliver." Ben says tending to his finger.
"Nevermind, let's just go this way." Ben says as they began walking through the jungle again.
Eventually they found some rocks to climb up to get a better look.
Ben stumbles a little but eventually makes it to the top as he looked ahead with a smile.
That smile quickly turns into a look of fear as he looked down realizing how high up he was.
Ben whimpers as Bumpy bleets and goes to run over the edge.
"Bumpy no!" Ben exclaims stopping her.
"Let's find another way." Ben said as they turned around and went to go find a different way.
After a bit of running they end up in the same spot they started.
"Uhh this way." Ben says as they ran to the left but ended up in a dark part of the jungle.
They began running again and end up at the start spot once more.
"Uhh." Ben says as he points to the left this time and they go left.
This path led them to a very fast flowing river.
Ben and Bumpy simply turned around to direction they came from.
They return to the starting spot as they run straight forward this time.
As they were walking through the forest Ben was becoming exhausted.
"Bumpy, what are we doi-" Ben is cutoff as his head smacks into a low hanging branch.
"What am I doing, I'm lost, I'm tired, and talking to a dinosaur." Ben said showing the first signs of insanity.
However right before Ben can go over the deep end he notices light.
He runs towards it to see it was just the Sun shining, but that's not the best part.
There was a road meaning he was close to finding some form of a building.
"A road! A road! all roads on the island lead to the main park, and main park means emergency beacon, Bumpy! All we gotta do is get down this hill." Ben says turning to Bumpy who bleets at him.
Ben then turns to a tree that was swaying weirdly, especially since the wind wasn't strong enough for it to be swaying like that.
"Bumpy why is it s..." Ben trails off as he steps on something.
He turns and picks it up to realize it was a dinosaur bone.
Ben drops it in surpise as he looks around frantically panting at the other bones he saw.
They were right in the middle of a bonepile.
Ben then turnt around to see none other than Toro walking towards them.
Ben's eyes widen in fear as he pants and backs up a little.
Toro roars loudly and charges them.
Ben was still in fear so he couldn't even move until Bumpy jumps and bumps him as they both got up and ran back into the forest.
Toro sharply turns causing himself to fall down.
Toro then gets back up and continues to chase them both.
Toro gets awfully close bites two times in a row as Ben ducks both and keeps running alongside Bumpy.
They then ran and fell over a little ledge and quickly sit up.
Ben grabs Bumpy and pulls her under the ledge to hide from Toro.
Ben grabs her beak to cover her from bleeting as he covers his own mouth to ensure he didn't scream by accident.
Toro stomped over to the top of the ledge looking around for them.
After seeing no sight of them Toro then roars loudly in anger causing Ben to cover and hold his ears.
Toro gives up and just walks away.
Ben pants frantically and looks up to where Toro was.
After being sure Toro was gone Ben began to sob and cry as he held onto Bumpy who bleeted sorrowfully.
This was really putting a lot of stress on him.
Ben and Bumpy made their way back to their starting point as Ben sits down legs crossed with a defeated expression.
Bumpy playfully rolled around in the background.
"We're gonna be here a while." Ben says as Bumpy grunts in response.
Ben then gets up and walks over to somewhere as he begins to grunt in struggle.
Night
Ben had seemingly been working for hours as the Sun had gone down and it was now pitch dark.
Bumpy was fast asleep until she hears Ben speak.
"Well Bumpy, welcome to our new home." Ben says pointing at a small nest he had made with a branch for shade.
Ben's clothes were dirtied and his legs and arms covered in mud.
"I know it's not much-" Ben is cut off as Bumpy trots over to the little nest and began getting comfortable.
Ben was surprised she actually liked the nest.
Present
"Wait let me get this straight, it took you four hours to build th-ack!" Ali is cutoff as Brooklynn twists his ear causing him to groan.
"Continue your story Ben." Brooklynn said in a sweet tone.
Ben prepares to tell the story again as Brooklynn gives Ali a sweet smile daring him to protest.
Flashback
"Hey! That's my bed!" Ben said to Bumpy who gave no care.
Ben sighs but eventually relents. "Okay, I guess you can have it for tonight." Ben said as he sat on the cold floor next to her.
Ben tries to move Bumpy with his legs, but it's no use, even as a baby she was way too heavy.
Ben decides to just lay his head on a fallen tree that was behind him.
Ben then began trying his hardest to sleep but there was too much on his mind.
'I hope this is all a nightmare, or, or, Ali and Darius are still out searching for me- ahh who am I kidding they're probably all home right now with their famili-' Ben's thought is cutoff.
A loud roar sounded through the forest causing him to gasp.
Ben just lays his head down and prays to God that whatever that was doesn't find him.
Ben finishes up his prayer and before he knew it he was fast asleep, maybe fear was a sleep aid for him.
Morning
Ben seemingly got no sleep at all judging from the bags under his eyes.
Suddenly Bumpy wakes up with a loud bleet startling Ben causing him to yelp.
Bumpy then walks off to do her business as Ben gets up off the ground.
Ben notices Bumpy chomping on some plants as he then is forced to realize something.
He was hungry as an entire herd of Ankylosaurus, but he couldn't eat the plants they did.
Suddenly Bumpy takes off running as Ben follows her to see where she was going.
Bumpy had led Ben to a patch of berries, red berries and blueberries.
Bumpy happily dug into the fruits but Ben being the germophobe he was clearly was reluctant to eat them.
Ben eventually gets over it and takes a small bite out of the berry he picked.
He instantly regrets that as he was force to retch and spit the berry out.
Ben notices Bumpy happily chewing away at the red berries, so he thought maybe those were the good ones and not the blue ones he tried before.
Ben picks one up and examines it. He cleans the berry off and takes a bite of it.
Ben was expecting the berry to taste that good as he made a 'hum' sound finishing the rest of it.
Bumpy then begins walking off again prompting Ben to follow.
"Wait but we're rig- okay." Ben cuts himself off and just follows the baby Ankylosaurus.
Bumpy finds herself on top of a rock as she began drinking water from a stream she found.
Ben walks up and notices this as he realizes he was also thirsty.
Ben slides down the small slope as he crouched on all fours almost like a Chimpanzee.
"Are you sure this is safe to drink?" Ben asked Bumpy as if she could actually tell him.
"Okay I'm trusting you." Ben said even though he had recieved no response to his previous question.
Ben then cups some water in his hand as he brings it to his mouth to drink.
Ben drinks the water and instantly felt refreshed. This prompts Ben to start drinking even more water like a mad man.
Suddenly a loud bleet grabs his attention, Ben looks over to the sound's direction to notice a Parasaurolophus in the lake.
The sight of the Parasaurolophus causes Ben to yelp and accidentally fall into the lake.
The Parasaurolophus paid him no mind as it swam back to it's business.
Base
Ben trudged back to his makeshift home now soaking wet followed by Bumpy.
Present
"Seriously a Par-" Ali cuts himself off as he notices Brooklynn's glare and Ben's deadpan.
"Right, right my bad continue your story." Ali said rubbing the back of his head.
Flashback
Ben was slowly starting to lose his mind as he sat staring at the ground.
Ben definitely wasn't going to get much sleep that night.
Morning
Bumpy once again bleets waking Ben up much like she did yesterday.
Ben follows her to the berry patch they visited yesterday.
Ben ate the red berries as he now knew the blue ones were disgusting.
After they finished with that, Ben and Bumpy head to the lake and began drinking from there.
No sign of the Parasaurolophus today luckily for Ben's clothes.
Base
Ben once again is forced to get no sleep as Bumpy takes his bed.
"Okay this is starting to feel like a re-run." Ben says to himself as he stared at the ground.
Ben was definitely right, the same exact routine kept occurring over the course of the next few weeks.
Ben had lost it now, this was too much for him.
Ben decided today was going to be the end of this cycle.
"No! Bumpy! When did you get so heavy?!" Ben grunted as he tried to push her out of his bed.
It was a futile effort as he accidentally slips and falls destroying the entire makeshift nest in the process.
Bumpy bleets in distress. Ben grunts and runs over to the destroyed nest.
"No Bumpy! Bad girl!" Ben yelled as Bumpy bleeted sadly.
Bumpy then walked up to him and nudged him.
"No! No! Go away! I'm mad at you!" Ben exclaims.
Ben then stood up to his full height and started making angry screeching sounds scaring poor Bumpy.
Bumpy turned and ran away from Ben, he wasn't the same Ben from the lab anymore.
Ben then yells and howls into the wind like a mad man, he had reached his breaking point.
Later
Ben had rebuilt the nest and sat there holding his head.
Ben sighed as he realized what he did was wrong. "I'm sorry Bumpy, come back." Ben said sincerely.
Ben then looks around noticing Bumpy had left the area.
"Bumpy?" Ben said in a questioning tone.
Jungle
Ben ran through the jungle in search of his friend.
"Bumpy! Bumpy! Where are you?!" Ben yelled loudly not caring about the dinosaurs that inhabited the jungle.
"Bumpy! Please Bumpy, I didn't mean it!" Ben exclaimed as his voice cracked.
Ben was startled however as a Compy ran out of a bush with a screech.
Ben ran away from the Compy and back to his nest.
Ben now had a stick in his hand for protection against threats.
Ben made his way to the berry patch as he began eating the berries, evidently paranoid.
He's forced to yelp as he sees the same Compy from before, only this time there was another.
They both watched as Ben ran away from them.
Ben had ran to the stream and began refreshing himself with some water.
Suddenly he hears screeches as he looks up to see the Compies again.
Only this time instead of two there were five of them.
They seemed very hungry, Ben backed away from them slowly as went back to his nest.
Base
As Ben sat in the nest he reminisced about Bumpy.
Ben notices her foot print under one of the leaves.
This causes Ben to start sobbing loudly and crying, regret hitting him because he was the one who sent her away.
Night
It was really windy and stormy on this night as lightning struck.
Ben is woken up by the lightning but what he really noticed was a large amount of Compies circling his nest.
This number was way too large to count as Ben is cornered by them.
Ben holds his head as he cowered in fear of the Compies who kept advancing him.
Ben decided that he was fed up with these pests as he opens his eyes with a hardened glare and a crazed fire in his eyes.
Ben screams and screeches wildly as he began swinging his branch around wildly.
The Compies get the picture and turn tail and run from the psychopath.
Ben throws the stick at the retreating Compies.
"Yea! That's right! You're scared of me now! Ben FitzGerald Pincus!" Ben exclaimed proudly as he dropped to his knees and screamed at the storm above his head.
Morning
The storm had passed and the jungle was alive once more.
Ben was already up and about however.
Ben seemingly sported a new look as he tore off his shirt sleeves and wore them as a head scarf.
He also wore mud over his face like war paint and had wooden gaunlets on.
His pants and boots were the same aside from the addition of mud.
Ben made his way to that tree from before.
Only difference is this time he was changed and was actually able to climb the tree.
Ben then gets off the tree and began working on a weapon.
It was a spear, and he was in the middle of sharpening it.
Ben finished up the spear as he looked at a carving he made in a tree. The carving was depicting Toro.
Ben chucks his spear as it hits the Toro carving right in the middle.
"Time to get out of here." Ben says with conviction.
Later
Ben had made his way to Toro's territory as he hid in the bushes.
Ben gets up out of the bushes announcing his presence to Toro who turns to him with a growl.
Toro let out a roar at Ben who accepts the challenge.
Ben roars back to let Toro know his challenge was accepted.
Toro charges at Ben, Ben waited for the right moment as he dove under Toro who tried to gobble him up.
Toro slams into the trees due to his own momentum and falls on his side.
Toro gets up with an enraged roar as he chases after Ben.
Ben ducks under yet another attack from Toro.
The two then began circling eachother looking for an opening to strike.
Toro soon gets one when Ben falls and loses his spear.
Ben backs up while evading Toro's attacks.
Toro goes for a finishing blow but Ben rolls out of the way and then leaps onto Toro's head.
Toro swings Ben around trying to get him off.
Ben gets flung off eventually but was lucky enough to roll into his spear which he picked up.
Toro charges at Ben again only to regret it as Ben swiped the spear across his face leaving a giant gash mark.
Ben also had a mark on his arm from his previous fall.
Both combatants roar at eachother as the score was 1-1 now.
Suddenly an unfamiliar bellow is heard as Toro and Ben both turn to it.
Suddenly a large Ankylosaurus emerges from the bushes and rams into Toro sending him crashing.
Ben immediately recognized the Ankylosaurus, it was Bumpy!
"Bumpy? Is that you?" Ben says noting how Bumpy had increased in size.
Toro then got up and began fighting Bumpy.
Bumpy slams her tail club into his jaw knocking him back.
Toro roars in pain, Ben roars as he runs to go fight alongside Bumpy.
The two began delivering blows left and right to Toro who began feeling overwhelmed.
Bumpy walked menacingly towards Toro as Ben prodded his spear at him.
Toro was forced to back all the way up resulting in him falling off a cliff.
Toro hit the ground hard as he lets out pained roars.
Ben and Bumpy watched as Toro struggled to stand back up due to his short arms.
Ben and Bumpy then look at eachother as Ben latched onto Bumpy's face.
"Oh Bumpy I missed you so much." Ben said as they were finally reunited, Bumpy bellowed in response.
Jungle
The now reunited Ben and Bumpy made their way through the jungle proudly as they just defeated the apex predator, Toro.
Ben's smile disappears however as they noticed smoke coming from a direction.
Ben notices two voices in the distance as he walks towards them.
It was Mitch and Tiff who were having a conversation, Ben didn't know them at this point.
"Hap! Just the man we wanted to see, where are the kids?" Mitch asked Hap who walked on to the scene.
"Still in the bathroom yurt, the chatty internet one and the smart ass are starting to catch on." Hap informed them urgently.
"Hap, buddy relax, we've got a plan don't worry, let's just head back before they notice we're gone." Mitch said as they began walking back to camp.
Ben who was listening quietly backs up from the bush slowly so that he didn't make too much noise.
"So, the others are still here, and they're in trouble, we have to help them Bumpy." Ben said as Bumpy bellowed.
