Sunset of the Dead Part 02
"I'm scared, Rarity," a pale child with a bite wound on her shoulder says while looking up at a purple haired teen.
"Don't be, Sweetie Belle," Rarity holds her sister's hand whose strength seems to be fading away. "Sunset will be back soon with help." She tells the child more to reassure herself rather than her little sister.
"I miss Mom and Dad," she adds weakly.
"I do to, Sweetie," the older sister kisses the younger's hand. "I do to."
Within the small room with the two sisters are two other children around the same age as Sweetie Belle. One orange, the other yellow. There are also four other teens. A timid butterscotch girl, a blonde cowgirl, an athletic rainbow haired girl, and a pink girl with unusually straight hair.
On the other side of Sweetie Belle is an elderly green woman with a shotgun nearby. Hoping that she won't have to use it.
Just then, the doors burst open.
"I got it!" Sunset shouts as she enters the room. "I got the crown," she takes a Crown out of her bag and everyone present cheered.
"You sure this magic doohickey works?" the rainbow girl asks before getting elbowed in the ribs by the cowgirl.
"The legends state that the Elements of Harmony possess the power to either banish or heal," the flame haired girl tells them while raising the crown above her head. "With this, we can save Sweetie Belle," and once she let go of the head piece, nothing happened. "What!?" she then started thinking hard and eventually smacking the crown before throwing it across the room. "I'm sorry," Sunset starts crying as she collapses to the floor.
Everyone else starts tearing up as they know what this means.
The green woman tightens her eyes as she reaches for the shotgun.
"No!" Rarity cries while hugging her little sister. "Please, Granny Smith, Don't! She's my sister!"
"Sorry, Deary. It must be done," Granny looks up at the cowgirl. "Applejack! Hold her down."
Applejack nods and approaches the purple teen only to have a purple arm held in front of her.
"It doesn't have to be like this," Twilight tells them.
"What else can we do?" Sunset says between sobs. "The crown didn't work. Sweetie Belle is just another loss. Like so many others."
"The Crown is only one part of the Elements of Harmony," the Princess kneels in front of the yellow teen. "You need all of them all together to do what you need to do."
"So, I wasn't going to succeed with or without the Crown."
"You know the Legends, right?"
Sunset looks up at her. "Huh? Uh, yeah."
"Tell me who are the perfect embodiments of the Elements of Harmony?"
The flame haired girl looks at Twilight before turning to the rest of the teens in the room, starting with the cowgirl. "Applejack. Your Honesty is what helps keep everyone levelheaded without dragging people down," then the Prism haired girl. "Rainbow Dash. When Micro Chips inhaler ran out, you went across the city just to get a refill. No one's more Loyal than you." Then the buttercream girl. "Fluttershy. You being so Kind is what keeps people hopeful that things will get better." Next is the pink girl. "Pinkie Pie. You always aim to make people smile even when you're not up for it yourself. Thanks to you, many kids here are laughing, and they tend to forget how bad things are. If only temporary." Finally, the purple haired girl. "Rarity. When food got low, you starved yourself for three days just to make sure everyone else got a chance to eat. And after that, you still didn't realize how Generous you were."
Everyone smiled at Sunset as she described the things they've been through since this mess started.
Sunset then looks down in worry. "The Element of Magic is the problem," she looks up at Twilight. "Magic doesn't exist here. It's why I was so desperate to get your crown."
"Being called the Element of Magic is kinda misleading," the Princess smiles as she lifts the crown over Sunsets head. "The true purpose of fifth Element isn't magic," and rests the headpiece on the flame haired girl's head and the gem starts glowing. "It's Friendship."
Light leaves the other four teens and heads for Sunset. Then a rainbow energy leaves the crown and shoots for Sweetie Belle before it dissipates.
The wound on Sweetie Belle's shoulder faded before she shot up, gasping for air. And as soon as she got the breath of fresh air, it was lost by the force of her sister's hug.
"Oh, Sweetie Belle!"
And everyone else cheered that the little sister was going to be fine.
