Nyx

It had been a month since I left Alexandria and since I had been to or seen anyone from Sanctuary. I had gone to all the other communities except Alexandria and Sanctuary. I renewed the barrier around Sanctuary before heading back to Alexandria. I checked in with Carl pretty often so I knew that Negan hasn't been back to Alexandria since three days after I left. I walked up to Alexandria's gate and a woman appeared on the watch tower. She pointed her gun at me and I froze.

"My name is Nyx and I'm here to renew the barrier." She lowered her weapon.

"The barrier is fine," I scoffed at her, "I'll be the judge of that not you."

I placed my hand on the sigil marking the front gate. Of course she was right. It was fine and I sent a blast of magic into the sigil making the barrier flash purple. I pulled away satisfied.

"You've checked, now leave." I couldn't understand why this woman was exhibiting hostility towards me.

I had seen this woman since I had last come to see Carl. I panicked as the gate began to open and I heard Negan's signature whistle. I used my magic and teleported myself back to the house I was living in. I slid down the front door and let my head lean back against the door. Hiding from Negan hadn't been easy. I hadn't really been open to being with anyone romantically since Loki's death. I didn't understand the connection between us. I sighed as I thought back to what just happened at Alexandria. That was far too close for comfort. Someone was knocking and I was on my feet with a dagger in my hand.

"Who is it," I didn't sense danger, "Darlin, open the door."

I rested my head against the door and then I opened it. There was the man I had been avoiding for a month. Negan was standing outside my house with his signature smile and bat balanced on his shoulder. I set my knife down on the counter.

"Why are you here," he smiled at me again, "Cuz I've been looking for you, Darlin."

What?
