The loud scream startled the dragon and his queen awake, the both of them bolting up straight in their bed as they stared at one another with wide eyes. Without hesitation, they threw themselves out of bed and darted for the door, rushing to the scene where they could hear the loud wailing echo down the halls.

With his fists ablaze and Lucy transformed into Loke's star dress, he kicked open the door and rushed in with his wife to look around the dark room.

Sitting in her bed was their oldest, Nasha, who trembled and cried, clutching onto her sheets like a lifeline.

"Nasha!" Lucy shrieked, rushing over to their daughter's bed while Natsu began to open doors and peek through rooms to see if there was anyone hiding. "What is the matter, sweet girl? What is the matter?"

Keeping his sharp ears on his baby girl, Natsu ducked underneath the bed to lift up the sheets to check for any intruder.

Shaking in her spot, the little girl sniffled as she wiped at the tears on her face, her messy rosy locks sticking to her skin. "I—I had a bad dream."

The visible relief on their faces were soft, the couple exchanging a look as Natsu came down to sit beside his wife, reaching over to place a large hand on his daughter's shoulder.

"You are safe, Nasha. We are here. Nobody is going to hurt you."

"I—it is not that…" She had a big pout to her lips, eyes watery and threatening to spill tears. "It is… it just…"

"You can tell us, sweetheart," Lucy cooed, brushing her wild tangled hair behind her ear. "We are here."

"It is just… I had a dream Plue stole my cookies and ate everything! The entire stock of it!" She wailed, throwing her arms up in the air making the couple blink down at her. "I even had a large hoard in my closet room and when I came home, I saw that Plue had taken it all! His belly was thiiiiis big!" She waved her tiny hands in the air to emphasize how big his belly truly was. "And he did not even leave me one piece!"

Natsu and Lucy could only sit there in disbelief, dumbly staring at their five year old daughter and blinking rapidly as if they were trying to wake up from a dream.

Natsu was first to burst out into laughter as Lucy shook her head back and forth, pressing a palm against her forehead while a smile curled up on her lips.

"It is not funny, papa!" Nasha wailed as the dragon toppled over on her mattress, cackling like a mad man. "I have been saving those cookies for my after studies! It is not right for Plue to eat it all so selfishly!"

"You are right, my love," Natsu said as his laughter ceased, a finger coming to swipe at the tear that fell while his hand swallowed her tiny fists that were laid out on her lap. "Papa apologies for laughing."

The small pout on her lips was identical to Lucy's. Even though she had his wild locks, most of her features came from her mother. Her chocolate brown eyes he adored, the way she would pout or huff like her mother, her big brain, and of course, her complexion. Though her personality may take over him, with the mixture of both of them, he had nothing to worry about when it came to her fiery spirit.

"Papa will buy you all the cookies you desire," he stroked his hand alongside her face, wiping the lone tear that was still lingering on her cheek. "And make sure Plue does not eat them all."

"Promise?" She clutched onto his arm, round chocolate eyes staring into his where Natsu knew he couldn't resist.

Coming from his wife was hard enough but his baby girl?

"Promise." He held his pinky out so she could lace hers with his. She squealed excitedly, holding onto his much larger, warm hands.

Giving her one last goodbye and a kiss goodnight, the couple put their oldest to bed before leaving her chambers.

"She takes after you too much," Lucy clicked her tongue as Natsu turned to smile at her. "A nightmare about her precious cookies stolen? Sounds like a certain dragon I know."

"Oh, really?" Natsu purred, the corners of his lips pulling up into an amused smile as he came to wrap his arms around her waist. He made sure to be careful of the growing bump in her belly. "Because I distinctly recall you crying your eyes out when you could not even eat said cookies she was speaking about."

The rosy flush on his queen's cheeks was something he would never get tired of. It was his favorite look on her and he could only chuckle as she squealed about something.

"Come, let me get you back in bed. It is late."

"Early." Lucy corrected as he took a hold of her hand. "But I would like to check on the twins and Igneel before we head back."

"Yes, my queen." He purred, taking her down the massive halls of their palace.

In the last six years, the kingdom has grown significantly and has bloomed into what it was today. With the Celestial kingdom now obtaining an heir, and not only one, but four including the fifth on the way, the family had grown into size.

The citizens were joyous with the news of the birth of their princess and when the twin princes were born, it was even more of an uproar. Their last prince that had come a year prior was even more of a celebration, leading the Celestial kingdom in a state of celebrations for nearly a week. Currently, only three months along, the kingdom were eager to find out if they would be adding another prince or princess to the family tree.

With dragon blood running through their veins, the offsprings were born as strong wizards with the similarity of the beast but the gentle caress from their queen. Nasha had been spewing fireballs since she was six months old which resulted in the kingdom having to fireproof nearly everything. Natsu got a huge kick out of it when she had nearly burned down her bedroom by spitting fire during a burping.

The twins were also dragons by nature seeing how they also got Natsu's fiery spirit. Only a year younger than their older sister, Sting, sporting wild blonde spiky locks, was the one who was most similar to the mighty dragon. Loud mouth, obnoxious laughter, wild nature, and adventurous spirit.

Though with his combination, Sting wasn't a fire dragon like his father or older sister but someone who had obtained the power of light magic. His bright glow reminded them of Lucy's celestial magic but the force of it all came from her dear dragon. With his sharp canines and explosive spirit, he was a complete opposite of his twin brother.

Rogue happened to be a dark-haired quiet fellow who clung onto his mother more than anything. He was nothing like his older sister or twin but he was loved as much.

His magic also consisted of dragon heritage but unlike his counterhalf, his magic was more so in a shadow. Producing shadow figures and showing his mother and father dancing spirits and shadow figures he could conjure up.

And with Igneel being only a year old, the red-haired child was a fiery spirit as well. Lucy blamed their father for them for being so wild and loud. Rogue was the only gentle one like her so far and she was hoping baby number five would come out more so like her. But the idea of having children surrounded by her that reminded her of her dear dragon only made her heart swell in size.

Igneel was a bubbly baby with fiery red hair that reminded her of her husband's true form. Chocolate eyes that shimmered with mirth every single time and a personality so bubbly that he was simply adored by anyone who laid their eyes on him.

Until he was spewing fire from his mouth and scaring half the kingdom at three months old.

Nasha had fallen in love with her youngest since they shared the same fire magic and oftentimes they would find her trying to teach young Iggy fire tricks even though he was just a baby.

With the children being still too young to practice such magic, they were still learning how to control their skills. Learning how to practice it would have to come later on but with the most gentle guidance from their father, they managed to keep the place in one shape for now.

Natsu had even noticed when it came to his wife, he could see certain dragon qualities in her. The new found abilities she had scared him at first since she was just a mere human but he learned that through their many times partaking in mating rituals, she had absorbed as much from him as he did her.

Though it was only little bits before they were able to claim one another all those years ago, now he could fully feel her energy and magical powers coursing through his body like a soft caress. Her magic was warm and made him feel all tingly at times, almost as if it was very stars that were tickling him.

Lucy explained she felt this as well with how warm she felt. Like a fire was permanently lit inside of her belly and seeing her eyes flicker with the flakes of gold he possesses when she's overly emotional, he knew without a doubt that his own queen had a little bit of dragon in her, now. She could probably challenge him and win if it was ever a battle of dominance and even though he is now a king, he will always submit to his queen.

He's known from the start that she would win regardless of where they were and if her baring her teeth at him didn't scare the absolute living shit out of him, he wouldn't have stuck around for so long.

His nest had yet to be found even all these years later. While he begins to think they may never find them, Lucy is always quick to reassure him that they will. They have been spending many years looking for clues and results. Erza had just returned from her three year journey looking for some clues and while she did come back empty-handed, she had found a recent cave that seemed to have harbored such powerful beasts one time.

It was better than anything and something Lucy had suggested made his insides a bit sour but he had no choice but to bring in the recruitment of other kingdoms to help.

The Ice Kingdom that had offered up their help, especially after meeting the ice king who seemed to be a mutual understanding that this was more for the queen's sake than each other. And with the Ice Kingdom being united through marriage with the Water Kingdom, they have also offered up help.

There were many people out there who were looking for clues to help locate his missing family but some days, more often than others, Natsu felt content with where his life was.

While his extended family were still nowhere to be found, he had made his own little family.

And he loves them a whole lot more than anyone or anything else in this entire world.

"Sting! Nasha!" Natsu raised his voice to catch her son and daughter frozen in place. Nasha was quick to hide her palm behind her back while Sting stood right beside his older sister, trying to help. "What did I say about playing with fire inside of the house?"

"We were not playing with fire, papa!" Sting shouted, a pout on his lips.

"Do not lie to me," Natsu pointed his finger in his direction as he swayed back and forth with Igneel in his arms. "I clearly saw the fire in Nasha's palms." His eyes flickered over to his daughter who offered a sweet sugary smile. It only made him narrow his eyes at them. "What were you two trying to do?"

"Cause trouble." Rogue muttered his breath as he shoved a spoonful of oats into his mouth.

"Rouge!" Sting hissed, stomping his foot on the ground. "You are supposed to be on my side!"

"I do not lie to mama or papa." Rogue turned his head away, huffing in the process.

Natsu merely smiled, running his hand through the dark locks of his son while he looked back at his two hatchlings who were always up to no good. "No fire play in the house. You know what happened last time you two were trying to play with your magic."

"Sting was the one who caught the curtain on fire!" Nasha shouted, pointing her finger at her blonde brother who gawked.

"It was on fire! How could it be me if I don't even have fire magic?!"

"I have seen you catch things on fire with your magic! Do you not remember what you did to my sheets the first time you figured out how to blow magic out of your mouth?"

"But I am not a fire mage!" Sting stomped his foot on the ground, throwing a temper tantrum as his sister continued to poke at him. "Papa! Tell Nasha I am not a fire mage!"

"Sting is right," Natsu spoke as he cradled his son in his arms who babbled and cooed, his pinky finger shoved into the mouth of his youngest as he sucked. "He is not a fire mage."

"HA!" The blonde prince shouted in his sister's face with a finger pointed.

"But that does not mean you cannot catch things on fire. We have all seen you."

"HA!" It was Nasha's turn to shout in her little brother's face, a triumphant grin stretching across. "Told you!"

"Now that is enough." Natsu spoke as he continued to sooth the young babe of his growing teeth, nudging his head to the table where Rogue was already halfway through his breakfast. "Sit down and finish your meals. Mama will not be happy if she finds out you two did not finish breakfast."

"Where is mama?" Nasha asked as she climbed into her chair, poking at her breakfast of berries and pancakes.

"Mama is working, duh!" Sting said as he mixed up his own oats, making a mess. "Mama is the queen of this place! She is always busy!"

"I know that!" Nasha scowled at the blonde, baring her teeth at him. Sting bared his teeth back to show her he wasn't scared and Natsu instantly put a stop to it but pounding his fist into the table where the silverware clattered and Igneel began to stir in a fit.

"We will be having none of that," Natsu scowled at his kids who began to shrink in their seats. "Eat."

Adjusting Igneel in his arms as he began to wail at the loud sound he had produced, Natsu let out a sigh while he bounced the baby in his arms. Nasha and Sting had calmed down to start eating, glares being tossed across the table. Rogue finished up his meal as he began to shift through the bowl of fresh fruit, popping one in his mouth gently.

Smelling her before she came in, Natsu turned towards the door to see his queen entering in. With her already dressed for the day in her gorgeous blue gown, the small bump that began to form was visible through her layers. Her hair was pinned up leaving her neck exposed, curled strands of hair framing her pale face.

"Mama!" Nasha and the twins shouted as soon as she entered. They scrambled to get out of their seats to rush to her side, her long skirt nearly swallowing the three small kids who surrounded her and ambushed her with hugs.

"Hello, my queen," Natsu purred as he came over to where his family were all hugging each other. "And hello to you," he rubbed a hand on her belly, greeting his unborn child.

"Hello, my king," Lucy smiled as Igneel began to lean into her, his cheeks red and blotchy from his little fit from earlier. "Why is my Iggy so upset?"

"Papa scared him!" Sting was quick to snitch on his father.

"Papa did not scare him!" Nasha scowled at her brother, defending her father. "Sting was being bad this morning so papa had to dis—displin him!"

"It's discipline," Lucy spoke softly as she rubbed the back of her baby's, bouncing him up and down in her arms. "Did we all finish our breakfast?"

"I did, mama." Rogue said with eyes gleaming with joy and Lucy ran her fingers through his long hair, grinning.

"Good job, Rogue," She cooed, making him beam even harder. "Nasha? Sting?"

The two of them began to shout at once, jumbling their words up and making it sound like a lot at once. It made Iggy whine as he didn't like all the noise and Natsu cringed at the volume as well.

"Enough." Lucy's commanding voice immediately put her oldest and one of her twins at a cease fire. "If you have not finished your breakfast, you need to eat. Now."

Nasha and Sting scrambled to their seats, rushing to finish their breakfast like their mother said.

"Did Igneel eat, yet?"

"Yes, my love," Natsu said as he leaned in to press a gentle kiss against her lips. "I was just about to warm his bottle."

"No need," Lucy said as she adjusted the little one in her arm. "I have a couple of minutes before I have to meet with my advisor. I shall take Iggy out of your arms for now. Surely, you have things to do as well, my king?" She raised a brow at him as she began to pull the strap of her dress down, trying to feed her youngest.

Trying his best not to stare at her bare breast in front of his kids, Natsu could only give her a smile as he pressed yet another kiss against her temple, one hand running down the spine of her back. "I do but I would rather spend a bit more time with my nest."

The blush that adorned her cheeks were lovely and he pressed kisses on those as well, one palm brushing the vibrant hair of his youngest who greedily sucked on his mother's nipple. He planted a kiss on top of his head before going over to the three who littered around the massive table.

"Nasha, Sting and Rogue, you two must prepare for your afternoon studies. I do not want to hear that you were mouthing off to the teacher, Sting."

Sting merely pouted, his bottom lip jutted out as his legs kicked back and forth.

"And Nasha, no more arguing with your teacher."

"I only argue with her when she is picking on Sting." Nasha said nonchalantly as she swung her legs back and forth, a large strawberry barely fitting in her mouth.

"No arguing, period." Lucy said, giving her kids a frown. "We must not talk back to our elders when they are teaching us important lessons."

"What if they are wrong?" Sting asked, cocking his head to the side.

"Dummy! Adults are never wrong!"

"That is also not true," Natsu said, chuckling at his fiery princess. "But they definitely do know more than kids. Just make sure you are being respectful and polite. Listen to your teachers and make sure you are reading through everything they are giving you."

"Papa," Rogue said, tugging on his sleeve. Thankfully he knew he was beside him with his scent but if this was Lucy, his queen would have already been screeching in surprise. "When are you going to take us flying again?"

At the sound of that, Natsu was quick to see Lucy whirl her head over to shoot them a glare. He could already feel his hairline moisten at that as he rubbed the back of his neck and laughed lightly.

The last time he took them all flying was a disaster on its own. He should have been more careful but with three young kids who were constantly babbling and trying to fight one another, it had become a little too much without realizing. Lucy did say she wanted to wait till they were older but Natsu insisted that hatchlings normally began flight at age five. He just didn't take into account that even though they were dragons, they still had human blood in them so it might take them a bit longer to access most of their dragon abilities.

So with his wife who was yet pregnant with their fourth and Igneel in her arms with three rambunctious children on his back, he didn't think his kids were so brave until Sting was climbing around on his head and accidentally slipped and nearly plummeted five hundred feet.

Safe to say Lucy was not happy and flying was banned entirely till everyone was old enough.

"When you are a bit older." Natsu said and it only made Sting and Nasha groan out in unison.

"You always say that!"

"I promise I won't fall again, papa! Please?" Sting ran over to clutch his father's side, wide eyes staring up at him in the same manner Lucy does whenever she wants something from him. Natsu could only feel his resolve fizzle at the sight of his adorable son but when Lucy cleared her throat and brought his attention over to the queen, he immediately knew the answer.

"Sorry, buddy," he ruffled his golden locks. "Maybe next time."

He only watched his hatchling storm off, stomping his feet angrily while he whined about it not being fair. Natsu could only snort and shake his head, grinning at his wife who was now trying to burp Igneel while he had finished his meal.

Never in his life did he ever think he would become king and have such a nest like the one he had now. His love for his queen and his kingdom has grown immensely and while it was not an easy job to run an entire kingdom, he was grateful Lucy had helped him grow into the role. It also helped that she had babbled so much about the kingdom's history when they had first met that he knew most of that. Now with his growing duties as ruler of the Celestial plains, he could only strive to be the best he could be.

Because the future was bright.

As long as he had Lucy and his little hatchlings, the future could only stay bright.
