Chapter 3
After lunch, the 3rd day of Zenki being human:
Zenki and Chiaki were sitting on the porch of the shrine, watching the forest while eating some bananas.
"I see your taste in food is nearly the same as your child form, Zenki!
"I like bananas a lot, Chiaki, they're very tasty! Besides, it isn't as if I can eat possesion seeds in this human body!"
"If Goki, me and you manage to get hold of any possession seed, we'll seal it and you can eat it when you regain your true form!"
"That would be great, the worst thing of being in a human form right now is that i can't turn back into my true form!"
"Ne, Zenki, do you think we can harmonize our minds and souls? The binding right now is rather inconvenient..."
"I hope so, if we are attacked we would have to depend on Goki fighting at close quarters and us fighting at a distance... Not an ideal situation."
"True, we must improve our fighting prowess, I can't rely on the Divine Garment of Protection to get me out of every scrape and you can't expect that you can go back to your true form in every fight!"
"As much as it pains me to admit it, in human form I'm not invincible!"
"Zenki, Chiaki-sama, get ready to train!"
"Gokimaru-kun is a slave-driver about training!"
"He's a true oni, even in human form!"
That evening, after a grueling training training session:
"Today there has been some improvement, Zenki, we've managed to land some hits on Gokimaru-kun!"
"At least today wasn't a totally humiliating defeat!"
"Let's go have dinner, wash and soak in the onsen, We need the soak again, I don't know how Gokimaru-kun doesn't need it after fighting with us nonstop all afternoon and part of the evening!"
Enno Saki was the first to arrive at dinner, and took notice of Gokimaru's absence just after Zenki and Chiaki arrived:
"Ara, Gokimaru-kun is not here, how unusual!"
"I'm here, Saki-baasama, I had to take care of some burns!"
Zenki and Chiaki smiled: at last they had managed to get some hits on Gokimaru... about time!
Gokimaru went to wash himself before Zenki and Chiaki and left the two with Saki.
"How was today, Chiaki, Zenki-dono?"
"It has gone better than yesterday or the day before, baachan, we have increased the distance we can go away from each other and we've managed to land some hits on Gokimaru. About time!"
"Chiaki, let's have a soak at the onsen, I seem to end every day sore since I turned human. Good night, Saki-baa!"
"You ought to treat her with more respect, Zenki!"
"I'm treating her with respect, I didn't use any insults!"
"You're incorrigible, Zenki..."
After washing themselves, Zenki and Chiaki went to the onsen, covered with towels this time, and found Gokimaru there.
"Gokimaru-kun, what a surprise!"
"Welcome, Chiaki-sama, Zenki, I'm here to soak away the aches of the training session, You got me good a few times, well done!"
"At least we managed to hit you this time, I hate losing, but today wasn't as humiliating!"
After a long soak filled with friendly banter, Gokimaru pulled Zenki aside while Chiaki went to get ready for sleep nearby.
"Zenki, what are your intentions towards our Master? you smell like you want to mate with her!"
"I don't know exactly how I feel about her, but now that I'm in human form I find her very attractive, and I would't mind having her as a mate. Don't worry, I won't do anything without her consent, if I did, she would castrate me, kill me, and then resurrect me and do it all over again!"
"True, she's as fierce as an oni!"
On that note, they both went to get ready to sleep.
This time both Chiaki and Zenki were in their pajamas when they went to sleep next to each other.
The next morning they woke in each other's arms, but this time they didn't raise any fuss, they just blushed and went to get ready for the day.
"Today we'll try something else, Chiaki-sama can you call the wind, and throw it at Zenki? I want to see if Zenki can still use the elements you throw at him in human form."
"Fuuten yo, kitare!, Vaayu!"
"Gufuu Shorai! Reppuuryuu!
Gokimaru had to dodge the cyclone that spun from Zenki's hands and sweatdropped -I didn't think they would manage an attack of this magnitude in human form!-
"We did it, Zenki!"
"This means we can use some of the attacks of my true form! We aren't defenceless against an attack now if we use combination distance attacks!"
After a training session much less one-sided than the previous ones, Zenki and Chiaki had managed to force Gokimaru to turn into Goki to heal himself of their attacks. They considered it a win, since they couldn't win against Goki in kishin form unless Zenki was in his true form and Chiaki was wearing the Divine Garment of Protection.
They went to have lunch, which the three of them decimated again, then, after they ate, Zenki and Chiaki went to sit on the porch for a while.
.:Ne, Chiaki, can I hug you again?:.
.:Uh, why for?:.
.:Because without you I wouldn't be alive, and without your help I wouldn't be myself anymore... Besides, we make a good team for a fight!:.
.:Sure, Zenki!:.
After the hug, both Chiaki and Zenki sat next to each other, practically glued together, watching the forest and just enjoying being together in peace while it lasted...
