Chapter 20

The third night after Enno Ozunu's warning...

Chiaki was dreaming... and it wasn't a good dream. She was dreaming of the enormous black raven they had seen, diving into a cave and surrounded by a darkness she had rarely seen, so profound it was, and then she saw the silhouette of a man surrounded with black flames, who gave her the impression of utter evil.

.:Zenki, help me!:.

"Chiaki, you're dreaming, wake up!"

He then linked his mind to Chiaki's and saw the shape of their enemy!

.:Chiaki, go wake Gokimaru and tell him to meet me outside in his kishin form, that was the shape of our enemy, I intend to use the rage I feel against him to do something useful!:.

.:OK, Zenki, I'll be there too, just wait a bit!:.

Zenki, once outside, allowed his rage free reign, and turned into a kishin, while outside a storm was forming, reflecting his mood. Goki was outside with Chiaki in a moment, and he warned him:

.:Goki, be prepared to use the power I'll send you to craft a protection for Chiaki and our babies!"

"Todoroke raimei! Hikare, raikou! wa ga mamorubeki mono no tame no chikara ni nare!"

A red bolt of lightning struck Zenki and concentrated between his hands, then flew towards Goki who absorbed it, and then a purple mist surrounded Chiaki.

"Uh, Zenki, Goki, what just happened?"

"Basically, Zenki used the power of his rage to invoke the lightning he controls to provide me with the power to craft a ward against ill intentions to you. Whoever touches you meaning harm to you and your babies is going to be electrocuted, Chiaki-sama!"

"Good!" said Zenki and Chiaki at the same time.

Hours later, after breakfast...

"Chiaki-sama, you say you saw the silhouette of our enemy in your dreams? If you travel in astral form in your dreams, you're in great danger of that necromancer, he could capture your soul and leave you in a coma or dead!"

"I won't let Chiaki be captured, Gokimaru!"

"Good, if a dream takes her far away, you must use the bond between your souls to bring her back to her body!"

"Thanks for worrying about me, guys, but aren't you two exaggerating?"

"Not one bit, Chiaki-sama!"

"I won't let anyone harm you, Chiaki, you're mine! Mine to love and to protect!"

Chiaki felt tears at the corner of her eyes and answered mentally:

.:Thank you, Zenki, Gokimaru! I'll be careful!:.

Later in the morning, near Shikigami-chou.

A motorcicle gang was heading towards the town, and they were talking about it:

"Boss, why are we going to such a small, boring, town?"

"Because there isn't any yakuza to run afoul of, they think that in that town full of temples and exorcists they're going to get cursed if they anger the wrong people, and besides, the police there is lazy."

"Aa, that way we can have fun without worrying that the yakuza there are going after us for meddling in their territory!"

That same day, before noon...

"Well, we have done our daily check of our surroundings, and we've found nothing alarming. What do we do this afternoon, Zenki, Chiaki-sama?"

"I don't care, choose whatever you like, as long it isn't very boring!"

"I want to go to town to get fall clothes, and go shopping with my friends Ako and Sayaka, but I'd like you to come to town too, just in case!""I'm going to telephone them to meet after lunch."

"Understood, Chiaki-sama, we'll be near, you can call on us telepathically any time you need to!"

Later, at the town, where Chiaki was meeting with Ako and Sayaka...

"Chiaki, how are you? Are your boyfriend and his brother around?"

"I'm fine, and they're in town, I just wanted to do some shopping with my female friends!"

"True, we haven't done that in ages, do you have any idea of where to go first?"

"I have to get fall clothes, but I'd like to look at some lingerie, I want some nice underwear to get looked at by my boyfriend before some fun together!"

"Chiaki, you're being a naughty girl, what would your grandma say?"

"Nothing, because we're engaged, and going to be married soon, in the coming months!"

"KYAA!""WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?!"

"I haven't had the opportunity to do it until now, we're still all starting the preparations for everything that has to be done before the wedding!"

"LET'S GO!"

Ako and Sayaka then dragged Chiaki to the nearest store carrying feminine apparel.

When Chiaki, Ako and Sayaka were just finishing the underwear shopping, and about to go outside they saw the motorcicle gang starting to gather outside the store.

"What do we do, Chiaki? I don't like the aspect of these guys...""Me neither."

"Ako, Sayaka, go back to the fitting rooms and barricade yourselves there, I'll call Zenki and Gokimaru over here, and I'll confront the gang to gain time!"

.:Zenki, Gokimaru, please come over here, there's a gang in dire need of a lesson! I'll be here protecting my friends!:.

.:We'll be there right away, Chiaki!:.

Chiaki went outside the store and stood blocking the door.

One of the gang thugs went near her and examined her.

"Well, well, what do we have here, you look like a feisty one, you might be fun!"

"Not on your life, you aho!"

The thug then drew a knife and grabbed Chiaki putting the knife next to her neck...

Then, almost simultanily, the blade of the knife shattered into a thousand shards, and the thug was thrown backwards by a bolt of lightning, which left him charred and twitching.

"What did you do to him, woman?", said the leader.

"Just the magical equivalent of a taser."

A few moments later Zenki and Gokimaru arrived.

"Chiaki, are you OK?"

.:I'm well, the ward anti-knives and the ligthning ward are working well, just got done with their first test:.

"Well, what do we have here: a band of idiots who dare lay a hand on MY woman!"

"Bad idea, you tried to hurt Chiaki-s... Chiaki, now we will hurt you!"

"You and what army? we outnumber you thirty to three!"

What followed then was a complete beatdown of the gang by Zenki, Gokimaru and Chiaki, they didn't even transform into their more powerful forms for knocking out the thugs, throwing punches and kicks so fast and strong that their adversaries were all unconscious in a matter of seconds.

Ovserving them at a little distance were their usual eavesdroppers, Shuuchi and Gouji, who were trying to be unnoticed by them.

"Damn, they don't even have to transform to beat a big number of adversaries!"

"Let's go away, quietly, I don't want to be noticed by them in this mood!"

After the fight, Chiaki got Ako and Sayaka to leave the fitting rooms.

"Chiaki, Zenki, Gokimaru, thank you, are you all OK?

"Yes, that gang won't be bothering us anytime soon! They went down rather quickly, and we hope that this beatdown and the shame of being beaten when they outnumbered us thirty to three will keep them from trying again!"

The group then went to continue shopping for fall clothes and training wear, all in a good mood.
