Donnie was running as fast as he could as he stopped in an alley in New York as he took a breather and leaned against the wall. It took him a moment before he realized where he was. "Wait. How did I get here?" Donnie questioned himself before a shadowy figure rushed past him, which got his attention as he looked around and saw that the city was abandoned. "Something's out there. But what?" He asked.
Then a shadow loomed over him, causing Donnie to turn and saw the shadowy figure of a monster that roared at him, which caused him to scream and ran off as he then jumped to rooftops and hid behind a wall. Looking around to see if he lost him, but then he heard the growl as he screamed and ran off before its claws could stab him as he ran further and hid on a fire escape. But then he shivered as he felt a drool dropping on his head, causing him to scream again before he ran down to the street and hid inside a dumpster.
Once Donnie was inside the dumpster, he was in darkness as he panted, but then he heard a growl, causing him to gasp as he slowly lifted up his T-Phone as behind him a pair of red eyes burned into his shell. The creature then roared and lunged at him.
At the Training grounds on Turtle Island, Leo was looking at his sword as he looked at his reflection and gave it a few swings with a focus look while the others were training close by. "So, is Donnie coming down or what?" Raph asked as he avoided some shurikens and went behind a tree.
"Couldn't wake him up so I put some dirty underwear on his face!" Mikey said, chuckling a little before he noticed Raph was gone before he looked up and saw Raph about to jab him, but he flipped away as Raph jabbed the ground before Tal shot an arrow at one of his nunchucks, knocking it out of his hands. "Hey!" He called.
"Mikey, that's just immature." Tal said as she blocked another shuriken wiht her bow. "Did you go through Casey or Keno's drawers again? Because that's disgusting."
Mikey scoffed, "Aw, only a girl couldn't see the beauty in underwear pranks," He said.
Ames then came to him and used her whip to catch Mikey and pulled him towards her as he yeled and she gave a smirk. "It may be a good prank, but still gross." She said before she knocked Mikey to the ground.
"It's the beauty of it." Mikey moaned with a smile.
Vee moved around with her fans before she noticed Leo swinging his sword. Vee smirked as she charged at Leo, but he avoided her strikes as the two clashed before Leo flipped her away as Leo caught his breath. "Great form. Look at you, Leo. You're coming along nicely." She said with a smile as he returned the gesture and retracted his sword.
"Hey, guys!" April called out as they turned and saw her, Robyn, Casey, and Keno in the Party Wagon. "We're heading down to the store on the mainland."
"Any request?" Casey asked as he poke his head off the driver seat.
"Oh oh oh! I need Spicy gummy bears! Need!" Mikey said, falling on his knees.
"Yeah. He's not gonna happen." Casey said starting the van.
"The cheap stores are tiny, Mikey. It's the kind of place that has peanut butter or jelly." April said getting inside.
"But we'll see what we can find once we're there." Robyn said as she entered next.
Tal then pulled out what looked like a modified Kraang Portal, "Here, take this," She said, tossing it to April, "This should get you to the mainland and back nice and quietly, Donnie and I tweaked the portal so the Kraang won't be able to trace it."
"Sweet," April said with a smile.
"We'll be back in a few." Keno said as he was the last to enter as the Party Wagon drove off.
Orimura then came towards them. "Excellent work my children," He complimented before turning to Leo, "And Leonardo, you seem to be healing nicely," He said.
"Yeah, trust me Grand Master, I feel ready to take on the world," Leo said eagerly, while doing some stretches. "Throw anything you want at me and I'll take it."
"An impressive boast my son," Orimura said before turning to Olivier, "Olivier would you care to test it?" He asked.
Olly nodded and put his axe away, "If you wanna back out Leo, now's your chance," He said.
"Heh, back out? Keep your advise to yourself Olly," Leo shot back as the others stood back. "Okay, let's do this!" He said.
"You ask for it, Leo." Olly said as the two young leaders then fought in hand-to-hand combat, which Leo seemed to have the edge as he blocked Olly's strikes and kneed him to the gut before tossing him back. But when Leo was about to deliver a kick with his right leg, Olly counter it with a punch to the foot, it dislocated Leo's knee as the Blue-clad Turtle screamed and fell on his knee as he clutched his leg. "Oops, Sorry man," He apologized with a wince.
"Leo, your leg still hasn't fully healed yet." Vee said with concern as the others came to him. "So far, you've gotten to the point where you can stand up, so long as you don't strain yourself."
"Yeah. You were hurt bad bro. You gotta give yourself time to heal." Mikey said in agreement.
"Yeah, but how long?! This is taken forever." Leo complained as he managed to stand.
"Leonardo, you must have patience." Orimura advised as he place a hand on Leo's shoulder. "When a warrior strains himself in battle, it only leads to his downfall. There are times where he must wait until his body and spirit regain their strength."
Leo then sighs. "I get it Grandmaster. But I thought I'd get better by now but I'm only getting worse." He said in frustration before he started to limp back when Vee tried to support him, he waved her off. "I don't need help, Vee, I'm just gonna take a minute." He said firmly as he hobbled back to the hut while the others watched.
"Good. Some rest should help." Raph said.
"I know Leo's trying his best to get back to full strength, but he's pushing himself hard." Jenny stated in concern before she turned and saw Vee's expression, "We get it sis, we're worried about him too,"
"Leo so desperately wants to get back on his feet so we can go back and save New York, but his leg just keeps getting in the way." Vee said with a frown. "He feels like a burden to us."
"Well, Leo came through so far." Olly said to them as they looked at where Leo went. "He held his own for a good while, but still."
"You think he'll ever come around?" Ames asked.
"Perhaps, it is not his pain that is holding him back," Orimura said vaguely as he walked away.
The younger turtles looked at him in confusion while Raph groans tiredly, "Why do Senseis always talk in riddles?" He questioned.
"Must be a generational thing, bro." Mikey said with a shrug.
At night, Leo was sleeping on the couch after watching some Crognard while the TV is still on before he cried and clutched his leg. "Sleeping isn't gonna help." He groaned as he grabbed his clutch. "Guys, I'm going for a walk!" He called out to them as he walked out the door.
"Rock on, bro!" Mikey called out from another room.
Leo was limping through the forest alone as he tried moving, but his knee pain proved to be a tough challenge. "It's taking forever, I'm never gonna get better!" Leo said in frustration throwing his cane down and looked up at the stars for a moment, but a light suddenly appeared and started heading to him.
"What?!" Leo asked in shock as a meteor was flying to him, Leo screamed as he barely dodged the thing hitting him, he gasped in shock as he turned around and saw the glowing meteor in front of him. "Whoa!" He said in shock as he looked at the thing, he held out his hand and decided to touch it, his body suddenly glowed before he screamed when a massive power surged through his body and he was knocked back into a tree, he got back up and realized something.
"Weird, that didn't hurt." Leo said confused as he stood up and moved his leg, feeling no pain from it. "And my leg, my leg doesn't hurt either! I feel fine, in fact… I feel great!" He said amazed as he started jumping across each of the trees and kicked one in half.
Meanwhile on the Mainland, a green circular portal, similar to the Kraang Portals, opened near a store called 'Bernie's General' and the Party Wagon rolled out. "Looks like the portal worked." April said with a smile. "Donnie and Tal did it again."
"Now we can travel to the Mainland and Turtle Island without a Kraang blaster at our heads." Robyn joked as they exited the Party Wagon.
"Yeah, which also means we can get more supplies and other things from the mainland like some microwave food and some comics." Keno said with a smile.
"Seriously, you think the Islander Turtles would have at least the good reads," Casey complained as they walked in and saw how limited the options were, "Wow, this place is small," He commented.
"Small but cheap for what we can afford, Casey." April said as they entered. "Even with limited options, at least there's something we might need."
"True." Casey said as the group spread out.
"Alright gang, search what we need for back on the island and pick something for yourselves." Robyn said as they searched around the store, searching through some food options and other items that might peak their interest.
Then April stopped when someone was in front of her as she gasped and saw a weird looking man looking at her while holding a box with some supplies.
"Hey there, name's Bernie." Bernie greeted with a friendly smile while the others looked at him. "I'd just bought this place." He said as he walked up to one of his stocks.
"On purpose?" Casey asked in confusion.
"Well then, I guess we're your first customers." Keno said with a small smile.
"Oh, you are." Bernie said as he stocked some cans on a shelf. "Finding everything you need?"
"You got any… spicy gummy worms?" April asked recalling Mikey's request.
"Is that bait? You mean bait?" Bernie asked, looking at her.
"It's candy, sir." Robyn explained.
"Oh, I got candy." Bernie said with a smile as he rushed up to a jar of candy pebbles.
"What kind?" Robyn asked as Bernie pick some out.
"Brown. But it used to be yellow." Bernie said while Casey went behind the counter. Casey kept looking around until he saw a strange looking book.
"Ob.. obturaculum, som.. somniorum?" Casey asked confused about to touch it until Bernie grabbed his arm.
"Nobody touches that book! Understand?" Bernie asked seriously and Casey nodded in fear and understanding and backed away from the counter.
"Maybe you shouldn't go behind a counter, Jones." Keno said to his friend before turning to Bernie. "Sorry about him, Bernie, Casey Jones only understands three things: Hockey, Vigilante stuff, and badly flirting with girls." He joked as the O'Neil sister giggled.
"Hey!" Casey yelled with a smirk as Bernie laughed.
"Oh, best joke there, kid." Bernie said after his laughter as April and Robyn came in with a couple of boxes of food and some items.
"Hey, we got what we need." April said to the boys.
"If rationed, it should last for a few days," Robyn said as the two sisters placed the crates next to the cashier as Bernie used the register.
"So, I thought no one lived around here." Bernie said as April and Robyn paid him and he put the money in the register.
"We don't actually." Robyn answered him. "But, why would you buy a store where you thought nobody lives?"
"Eh, I like my alone time." Bernie said with a shrug before noticing the amount of food they had, "The amount of stuff you're buying, you could feed an alligator." He noted.
The four humans flinched and gave nervous smiles, "Uh, just four humans, us four humans, the four of us." Casey said as he and Keno held the boxes as the four teens backed away while Bernie looked at them suspiciously.
"Uh-huh? Tell me, have you been feeling tired lately? Real tired?" Bernie asked curious as the four teens were near the door.
"No, we're fine!" April said as the four quickly left, and Bernie sighed.
"Maybe it won't happen this time," Bernie said hopefully as we see the book once more.
Back on the island that is still night somehow, Leo was whooping in joy as he jumped through the night sky and ran through the ground at fast speeds. "Check me out! I am…a super… hero!" Leo declared, amazed at his new strength.
"What does every superhero need?" A voice suddenly asked and Leo looked around.
"Who's there?!" Leo said keeping his defense up as a strange beaver monster appeared next to him.
"Dire beaver! I'm everything you've feared in one convenient, horrifying package! And I'm gonna teach you something about pain!" Dire said, appearing behind him; Leo screamed as he got slashed by the monster and was pinned down.
As it turned out, Leo was sleeping on his bed. Raph and Mikey came to check on him and found both Leo and Donnie were still fast asleep. "Man, Leo must've been tired." Raph commented when him and Mikey went to check on them.
Mikey was drawing on Leo's face as he put in some arrows that pointed to his mouth and a nose on him while a ward that saids 'Insert Pizza Here'. "He looks good, though. Handsome." Mikey said.
"Nice work." Raph said with a smirk before he yawned. "You know, I'm pretty tired myself." He said as he then laid on his bed. "A little shut eye wouldn't hurt anything, right?"
Mikey then gave a yawn next. "Me too." He said as he gave a smirk as he was about to draw on Raph's face next.
"Don't even think about." Raph said with his eyes closed, which spooked Mikey before he went to his bed.
"Naps are natures huuuggggsss." Mikey yawned before he was drowsy.
A little later, Naomi, Olly and his sisters came in and found all four turtle brothers fast asleep, "Huh, they're sleeping like logs." Jenny said with her arms crossed.
Ames giggled when she heard Donnie whistle while snoring, "Ha, Donnie's gap makes his snore all whistly," She giggled before Tal smacked her on the head.
"Alright, Donnie, get up, we got work to do," Tal said, patting Donnie's chest, but Donnie continued to snore before she noticed him not sleeping well. "Donnie?" She asked.
"Something isn't right." Naomi said in concern. "I feel a strange force coming from within the boys." She said.
"Wait, all four of them?" Vee asked as she went over to Leo, "Leo? Leo, wake up!" She said, shaking Leo but he didn't move.
"Raph? Raph?! Snap out of it man!" Jenny called, slapping her boyfriend but he was like the others.
"Mikey! Rise and Shine!" Ames told the Orange-clad turtle only for him to stay asleep like his brothers.
"Donnie? Donnie?! Donnie!" Tal called as the four girls were getting worried.
Olly immediately saw something was wrong, "Naomi, find my aunt and my parents, quickly!" He told his girlfriend as the Brown-clad turtle rushed out the room as Olly watched his sister try and reach the four New Yorkers.
In Donnie's dream, Donnie had a look of terror as he was being chased by another beaver. "Peek a boo! I see you!" He said as Donnie screamed while running through the streets until he bumped into the large red beaver again.
"I am Dark Beaver!" He introduced as Donnie backed away only to see him appear from behind a street lamp, "May I eat you?" Dark asked.
Donnie turned away only to feel something between his legs and looked down to see Dark Beaver again, "You look salty!" Dark said with a smirk.
Donnie screamed as Dark started chomping at his head, Donnie put his head in his shell and quickly ran into a building.
Donnie pulled his head out and found himself in April's school. The school bell rung as the place begun to shake, there were large red claws emerging from the doors as wind flew all around him as Donnie breathed heavily.
"This.. can't be real! I must be dreaming! I just have to wake up! Wake up!" Donnie said slapping himself as Dark laughed evilly as the clones crawled to him. "Wake up! Wake up!" He cried as he kept slapping himself.
"No!" Donnie screamed as he suddenly found himself in his and his brothers' room again, breathing heavily; he looked under the bed to make sure he was alone until Dark appeared behind him.
"Still here! Still gonna eat you, my salty, salty friend!" Dark said evilly as he tried attacking him again.
Back in the real world, the six islander turtles, Orimura and Leatherhead watched as Harumi and Dariyasa checked over the four sleeping brothers. "And you said that they would not awaken when you tried?" Harumi asked Olly while inspecting Donnie.
"Yeah. They won't respond to anything." Olly said as he walked up to Raph. "Watch this." He said before he gave Raph a hard slap to the face, but he kept snoring and still sleeping. "See. Nothing."
"Not even Mikey is responding to pizza." Ames said as she held up a slice of frozen pizza above Mikey, but he wasn't reacting. "Even when he's asleep, he eats pizza."
"More than that I can feel something leeching at them," Dariyasa said in great concern before the four teens came in with the groceries.
"Hey, we're back!" April called out as they entered the hut.
"And we brought some good grub!" Keno said as he and Keno placed the crates down, but then they saw the four New York Turtles with the others gathered around them. "Figures. While we're doing business, what are they doing? Squat." He scoffed.
"I'm afraid it's more serious than that," Leatherhead explained, "Michelengelo and the others cannot awaken,"
"This always works," Casey said before walking up to Donnie and flipping him off his bed.
"Casey!" Tal exclaimed and saw Donnie was still asleep.
"I don't believe that is going to work," Orimura said with a brow.
Casey shrugged, "Well, it was try," He said as Tal helped Donnie back on to his bed, "Plus I've kinda always wanted to do that."
April put a hand to Raph's head, "I don't understand it, they won't wake up?" She said in concern.
"No matter what we do," Vee confirmed. "It's almost like they're all…trapped in their own dreams," She said as they all looked concerned.
In Raph's dream, Raph found himself in the dinning room again and he saw Leo and the others looking at him with pale white eyes and straight faces. They made zombie like noises before they're faces became monstrous and a huge demonic hand came from the pizza box and a huge beaver emerged from it.
"I am Dread Beaver! And your soul is MINE!" Dread said as he made an evil laugh, blue fire was in the background as he saw an illusion of his brothers playing a rock song as Dread laughed evilly as snakes came out underneath Raph and restrained him.
"Whoa!" Raph screamed as the snakes hissed at him. A large orange smoke cloud surrounds Dread as he turns into a giant snake, looking down at Raph and hissed as the Red-clad Turtle screamed in fear.
In Mikey's dream, the youngest turtle was frolicking around a cute and candy land with smiling faces before he high-fived a lollipop and met up with a cute blue beaver, who is giving cute giggles. "I'm Dave Beaver. I'm suppose to scare you." He said with a cute voice.
"Really?" Mikey asked with a small laugh. "Then I guess you should've left your adorable buck teeth at home, Dave." He said.
Dave smiled as turned and wagg his tail while looking at his teeth. "They are adorable, aren't they? Ha!" He laughed.
"And check out you wittle paddle tail!" Mikey added, pointing to Dave's tail. "You wanna play ping pong?" He asked as Dave giggled.
"I kinda do, yeah!" Dave excitedly said.
"Sweet!" Mikey cheered before a ball hit him on the back of his head, which he caught as it had a smile face and giggled at him. Mikey and Dave then started playing ping pong together with cheerful laughs.
Back in reality, Mikey sighed fondly with a smile as he slept peacefully. "Mikey actually kinda looks okay." Keno noted with a shrug.
"He is having a peaceful sleep, but his pulse, as well as his brothers, they are getting weaker by the second." Dariyasa said to them.
"So, are they sick?" Casey asked.
"They don't have a fever, I can feel an unknown force in them." Naomi said in great concern.
"Yeah, I think I do too." Robyn said with a suspicious tone before turning to her sister. "April?"
"Same." April nodded as she looked at them. "Like something is draining the life out of them."
"Can you help them?" Leatherhead asked the two adult female turtles.
"I'm afraid whatever is afflicting them is taking place in their dreams," Harumi said with a regretful frown, "I have no power in realm of dreams,"
"Therefore, this threat must be eliminated from within the Dream realm," Dariyasa said before turning to Vee, "And there is only one way to so,"
Vee realized what her mother was saying and became worried, "No, I'm not ready," She said in fear.
"It's the only way to help them, Venus." Dariyasa said to her daughter as Vee looked down in worry.
"Wait, what are you guys talking about?" April asked in confusion. "How can Vee help them?"
"Although Olivier is destined to become the next Chieftain of the Shell Tribe, as the first born daughter, Venus has inherited a great power," Oriumura started while walking up to Vee. "She has the ability to harness her spiritual energy and enter the Realm of Dreams."
"You mean like mind reading? Wicked!" Casey grinned.
"Not exactly, it's more like entering someone's subconscious." Vee said while rubbing her head. "But it's a highly advanced ninjutsu chi technique that I've barely mastered. I don't know if I could even connect to one of them."
"But if you don't try, then whatever is keeping the boys trapped in their dreams will continue to drain their life force," Dariyasa told her daughter, "And if it is not stopped soon…" She trailed off, looking down in worry.
"What? What's gonna happen to them?" April asked in worry.
"The boys will never awake…and they will die," Orimura answered grimly.
The others looked in dread as they all looked at the New Yorker turtles in great concern. "Venus, you have to try, please! For them!" Robyn exclaimed as Vee looked down a bit before she sighed.
"I'll… I'll try. But I'm gonna need some help." Vee said to them.
"If it's a psychic you need, we're your girls." April said as she and Robyn sat on either side of Vee.
"In order to enter their dreams I need someone with a close connection to them," Vee explained while turning to her sisters, "Someone they love for example,"
Tal, Jenny and Ames looked to each other and nodded, "If it means saving Raph, I'm in," Jenny said, sitting down with Raph's head in her lap.
"I'll do anything to save Donnie," Tal added, doing the same as Jenny did with Donnie.
"And as long I can save Mikey, I'm game," Ames finished as she put Mikey's head on her lap too.
"Okay, then that leaves Leo to me," Vee said as she layed Leo's head on her.
"But there's still one thing that I don't understand." Harumi said with a frown. "Why is this affliction affecting only the boys and not any of us?"
Then Keno remembered, "Wait, remember back on the mainland, when Bernie asked us if we were feeling tired?" He asked Casey and the O'Neil sisters.
"And that book he had, Somniorum, it's Latin for dreams or, of the dreams i think." April explained.
"Do you think there's a connection?" Robyn wondered.
Orimura rubbed his chin before turning to the two humans boys, "Casey, Keno, find this book and bring it to me, it may shed some light on what is happening," He instructed as Casey got his bat and Keno grab his batons.
"Don't worry, Ori-dude. We'll get that book." Casey said seriously.
"You guys stay here and keep an eye on the guys while Vee works her dreamy Hocus-Pocus on them." Keno said as he put his batons on his back. "Let's roll, Casey." He said as he exit the hut.
"Right behind ya, buddy." Casey said as he followed Keno out the door.
"Okay, April and Robyn you two will link their girls and my mind together and then I'll transfer into each of the boys minds" Vee instructed.
April and Robyn nodded as they both focused and all six girls closed their eyes, feeling their minds connect directly to Vee.
The four turtle sisters then glowed their respective colors as they felt themselves being transferred out of reality.
In Donnie's Dream, he ran through the sewers before coming into an office as Dread kept chasing him. He then rushed out of the fridge in the Lair's kitchen and bumped into someone, "No! Leave me alone! I'm not salty!" Donnie begged, shielding himself from Dread.
"Donnie, calm down!" A familiar voice called out as Donnie heard it and slowly opened one eye and saw Tal in front of him. "It's okay, Donnie. It's just me." Tal said with a smile.
"Tal! It's you!" Donnie said happily before he frowned fearfully. "Wait, how do I know it's really you? Is this some kind of trick?!"
"Ask me something only you and the real me would know," Tal told him.
"Uuuhh…." Donnie started thinking before coming up with it. "Okay, when Bigfoot left, what did I say before you kissed me?"
Tal gave a smirk. "Is Donnie to Tal what April was to Donnie." She said.
"It is you!" Donnie cheered as he quickly hugged Tal and kissed her as she returned it with a giggle before they broke away. "What's happening?! What is going on?! How did you get here?!"
"Donnie listen me, this is all a dream. You need to wake up now." Tal said holding his arms.
"What?" Donnie asked in confusing before multlple Dark Beavers appeared beside them as Donnie screamed in fear.
"What the heck?!" Tal exclaimed in shock.
"Ooh, Salty and Sweet." Dread said before lunging at them.
In Leo's dream, Leo was still in the forest trying to fight off Dire and kept being hit over and over until he was knocked into the sky. Dire jumped into the air and was about to punch him until Leo's phone started ringing as time seemed to pause.
There was an awkward silence as Leo darted his eyes around while Dire gave a dull expression, "Well, aren't you gonna answer?" Dire asked, annoyed.
"Okay." Leo said as he picked it up and answered it.
"Leo! Turn your phone to whatever you're fighting." Vee's voice called.
Leo blinked before turning to Dire, "Um, it's for you," He said, holding his phone to him.
"Yes?" Dire asked before he got kicked in the face and shot back down as Vee appeared from the T-Phone.
Vee looked around in awe, "It worked. I, I did it." She said as a smile formed on her face, "I did!" She cheered pumping her arms up.
"Did, what?" Leo asked as Vee turned to him.
"Leo!" Vee cheered as she hugged him, "Boy am I glad to see you."
Leo was still surprised to see Vee here, "Vee how are you here? And how did you come out of my T-Phone?" He asked.
"Leo, none of this is real! Your lifeforce is being drained by that giant beaver." Vee explained, "You need to wake up."
"I am awake! I got super powers from a meteor, and I was fighting that giant beaver, when..." Leo trailed off when he saw Vee giving him a raised brow and hands on her hips realized something. "Wait, am I dreaming that guy?" He questioned as he looked down at where Dire Beaver fell.
"Yeah, because how else that we're floating in mid air and you having superpowers fighing a giant beaver, Heroboy?" Vee questioned with a brow. "Seriously, didn't this spark a clue to you?"
"Okay, when you put it like that, no." Leo said with a shrug. "But give me a break, I always wanted to be a superhero ever since the First Space Heroes episode!"
"Yeah, true. But there is one part in your dream that shouldn't be here." Vee said to him with a nervous look. "Like that beaver that is coming towards us."
"Wait, what?" Leo asked as he turned and saw Dire Beaver flying towards them.
"Suckerkick me will ya!?" Dire questioned as he punched the two turtles up that they are flying towards the sun with screams.
In Raph's dream, Raph kept screaming as the others kept rocking before the giant snake started hissing and slithering around and started eating them one by one. It then move towards Raph, but before he could eat him, "Hey, scale-fer brains!" Jenny's voice called as the snake halted and it and Raph looked up and saw Jenny standing on rock spire with a glare. "I thought your diet is rats, because turtles aren't part of the your foodchain!" She called as she jumped down and gave an axe kick to the snake's head before she grabbed it by the tail and spun him around and tossed him into the blue fire.
"Jenny! Boy, am I glad to see you!" Raph said in huge relief. "Now help get these snakes off me!"
"Oh, don't worry, Hothead." Jenny said as she used her claws and slashed the snakes off Raph as he got up and took deep breaths. "There. And I take it you realized it's a dream."
"A nightmare is more like it!" Raph called out. "I like rock music, but playing rock while getting eaten by a giant beaver that turned into a snake is not on my to-do list!" He called before he realize something. "Wait, how did you get in my dream?"
"Long story, for now, you have to wake up." Jenny said to him.
"Oh, trust me, there's nothing more for me to do than wake up!" Raph called before the snake appeared as it towered over them while rubbing his chin with his tail. "Though, that might be easier said than done."
"No one likes a party crasher!" Dread yelled as he launge at the two turtles with his mouth open.
In Mikey's dream, Mikey was still playing ping pong with Dave, but he was looking exausted while Dave kept hitting with the ball. "Man, this ping pong is really wearing me out." Mikey said feeling really tired.
"That's because i'm draining your life force!" Dave said excitedly as he kept hitting Mikey.
"Oh right," Mikey said as the ball kept hitting him before it was grabbed by Ames who flipped infront of Mikey, "Oh hey Ames, wanna play?" He panted.
"Sorry, Mikey, as cute as your friend is, he's draining you." Ames said, jerking a thumb at Dave, as she spun the ball on her finger. "It's time you should wake up."
"Aw, already. But I was just about to get my second wind." Mikey complained as he groaned a bit.
"Yeah, why not join the fun, little lady?" Dave asked excitedly while he kept wobbling. "We're just having fun."
"Yeah, no." Ames shook her head before she tossed the ball at Dave, who laughed when it hit him in the face and he fell flat on his back.
Back in Bernie's General, Keno and Casey enter the shop as they looked around for Bernie. "No sign of Bernie." Keno whispered.
"Good. So let's grab that book," Casey said as they headed to the counter. Casey took out a key and put it in the glass case's lock and unlocked it as he took the book out.
"Wait, you took the key when we first got here?" Keno questioned in surprise.
"What? The dude was strange. I figure that book was important the second we got here." Casey said in defense.
"They sent you two, didn't they?!" Bernie questioned as the two boys turned and saw him.
"Who?" Casey questioned.
"Them! The Dream Beavers!" Bernie yelled.
"Bernie, nobody sent…" Keno stopped before he gave a slight chuckle. "Wait, did you just say Dream Beavers?"
"Didn't I tell ya nobody touches the book?!" Bernie yelled as he brought up a chainsaw and powered it up.
"Whoa!" The boys yelled as they dodged Bernie's swipe and jumped over the counter.
"Dude! Are you insane?!" Casey questioned.
"It's just a book, man!" Keno exclaimed.
"That book, is the only thing standing between this world and total destruction!" Bernie yelled as he charged as the two boys with yells as he swung the chainsaw as they avoided them. "You dirty beat nicks!" He yelled as he raised his chainsaw up.
In Donnie's dream, he and Tal were in the middle of New York with their weapons ready before Dark Beaver came up behind them as they twirled around, but Tal managed to land on her feet on the side of a building while Donnie slammed onto the wall face first.
"Donnie, focus! None of this is real, it's just a dream!" Tal exclaimed as she kneeled down towards him.
Donnie groaned before he took a few breaths and gave a determined expression as Dark is above them as he roared before Donnie quickly stood up and whacked him away, which Dark Beaver stopped and turned to them as he put his jaw back in place.
"So, you figure it out, eh?" Dark questioned. "Very clever, clever salty and sweet couple." He said as he raised his claw.
"Look out!" Tal called as she jumped away, but Donnie screamed as he was cut in four pieces. "Donnie!" She yelled out as four pieces fell from the ground, but then what Tal saw made her eyes widen. "Uh, huh?!" She exclaimed when she saw that not only Donnie was unharmed, but now Leo, Raph, and Mikey are there next to him.
"Whoa, what's going on?!" Leo called in shock. "Where's Vee?!"
"I'm having the weirdest dream," Donnie said weirdly.
"You can't be dreaming, I'm here," Leo said to Donnie.
"Because I'm dreaming you!" Donnie pointed out.
"Maybe I'm dreaming you, but you're not dreaming me." Leo said to Donnie with a brow as Mikey got up.
"Aw, man! Where did Ames and all the candy go?" Mikey whined.
"Okay, this just got even weirder even by our standards." Vee's voice called out as a three sparks appeared from above as she, Jenny, and Ames jumped down and stood beside the four turtles with Tal joining them. "Now it's like you all are in the same dreamscape."
"But that's impossible," Leo stated.
"Nothing is impossible for the Dream Beavers!" Dark retorted with a smirk.
Donnie and Ames gave chuckles. "Sorry, did you just say, Dream Beavers?" Donnie asked in amusement.
"That's a bit funny." Ames chuckled.
"Oly-oly oxen free!" Dark called as the entire dream scape of the city shook as Dread, Dire, and Dave appeared with laughs as they all huddled close to Dark while looking down at the turtles. "You four lady turtles may have been clever to enter the dreamscape to help your friends, but foolish to come here!" He said to the girls.
"Foolish enough that we do it to save our friends from getting their life forces drained!" Jenny called while readying her claws. "Just, who are you guys and how did you enter their dreams?!"
"You think you are alone in your dreams." Dire started as Dream New York changed into the cosmos. "But now, for years we have lurk in this dream dimension, stealing the life force from humans, draining them dry, and leaving-"
"But dudes, we're not humans!" Mikey called out before Dread came up from beneath them while licking his clips and tapping his claws.
"That is precisely what makes your life force so delicious." Dread said before he regrouped with the others.
"Seriously, human life force every meal for thousands of years can be so drab." Dark said boredly before he smirk. "Then one day, turtles."
"I like chocolate chip cookies." Dave said with an innocent smile.
"Shut up, Dave!" The other beavers yelled at the little blue one.
Dire than gave an evil smirk. "We're gonna drain you dry, and spit out your shells!" He called as he tossed the eight turtles up while they scream while the Beavers gave evil laughters.
Back in Bernie's General, Casey and Keno blocked Bernie's chainsaw and hopped over the corner of a shelf, but when they tried to make it to the door, Bernie used the chainsaw to cut the shell up to get to the otherside sa he kicked it down and charged at the two boys.
"Will you…" Casey started as he blocked a strike with his bat.
"Knock it off!" Keno called next as he blocked it with his baton.
"We're just trying to…" Casey continued as he blocked another strike.
"To help our…" Keno continued before he blocked as well.
"Friends!" They finished with irration.
"What?!" Bernie asked while he kept swinging around. "I can't hear you over the chainsaw!" He called as he kept swinging, but Keno batted the chainsaw to the side, shutting it off. "Give me a minute here." He said to them as he tried to start it up again but Casey swatted it out of his hands. "Ow!"
"What is wrong with you?!" Casey questioned with his bat raised.
"Dude, you nearly saw us to pieces over some book!" Keno added with his batons ready.
Bernie groaned, "I'm sorry, I'm a little high strung." He said after twitching a bit. "I haven't slept in forty years. Because of the Dream Beavers!" He said in an ominous tone.
"What are Dream Beavers?" Casey asked as he and Keno lowered their weapons.
"They're beings of pure evil from another dimension." Bernie said to them. "You see, it all began forty years ago…"
"Nobody asked, Bernie." Keno said, but Bernie continued.
"I was a physicist trying to prove my theory that our dreams take place in a dimension of their own. When a defective portal projector short circuited, and I lost consciousness." Bernie started as Keno and Casey listened. "The Dream Beavers was then about to break free into our reality, but instead, they materialized in the dream dimension, in my dreams!" He said while tapping on his forehead as he took his book back from Casey. "When I awoke, they've remained trapped in the world of dreams, unable to return. As long as this device remains operated…" He said while gesturing to his book.
"Device? It's a book, Bernie!" Casey yelled before Keno elbowed him.
"I think he means something in the book, Jones." Keno said firmly before turning to Bernie. "There is some kind of device in that, isn't there?" He asked.
"You are correct, young man." Bernie nodded. "'Obturaculum Somniorum' means Dream Plug." He said as he opened the book and flipped the pages to show the Dream Plug attached to it. "For forty years I have protected to ensure that the Dream Beavers remained trapped. For forty years, I have remained awake so that they cannont drain my life force!" He added while his left eye tilted while Keno and Casey looked in shock at his explanation. "But they are always near. They attacked anyone close to me and drain the life from them when they sleep!"
"So, that's why you asked us if we were feeling tired, because you were trying to make sure that the Dream Beavers wouldn't get us." Keno realized.
"Yes. That's why I came out here, far away from everyone!" Bernie said to them.
"Not far enough!" Keno exclaimed. "They're draining our friends right now!"
"And you're gonna do something about it!" Casey said as he and Keno walked to him while Keno went up to Casey's ears.
"If the Dream Beavers managed to get Leo and the others dreams' this far, that means Turtle Island is close to this side of the mainland." Keno whispered.
"So?" Casey asked.
"So, we picked a bad time to for Turtle Island to suddenly appear." Keno whispered. "But why haven't the other turtles been affected?"
"Doesn't matter. The guys need us." Casey said as he and Keno went out of the store with Bernie as they made their way to the Party Wagon.
Back in the dream realm, the turtles find themselves in a world that looked like a black and white comic. "What?! Where are we?" Raph questioned as he tapped at the corner of their scene page while his words spoke up in a bubble.
"Whew! Back in the real world at last!" Mikey said in relief in another scene with Donnie.
"This looks real to you?" Donnie questioned as another scene with Mikey popped up.
"More or less." Mikey said with a shrug before pointing up. "Except for those guys…" He said as they looked up and saw the Dream Beavers above them while laughing.
"I spy with my little eye… something green!" Dave said in excitement.
"Shut up, Dave!" The other beavers yelled while Dave flinched back.
"Okay, those guys are just like you guys," Ames commented while looking at the four New Yorker Turtles.
"Hey!" Raph, Leo, and Donnie exclaimed in offense while Mikey thought for a moment.
"Actually, she got a point, dudes," Mikey said with a thoughtful look.
"Shut up, Mikey!" The three brothers yelled at him before they realized what they had said as the four girls gave the boys small smirks.
"Uh, can we focus on stopping those guys, please?" Leo suggested while pointing his sword at the Dream Beavers.
"I agree!" Dire yelled as he jumped down at them. "Destroy them!" He yelled as he tackled the turtles, sending them falling through the comic dream before they ended up in a chamber in the sewers, but the turtles saw that they were upside down before they saw the Dream Beavers scattering with laughs as the turtles spread out to fight their respective beavers.
Leo tried to fight Dire, but he couldn't get a swing of his swords as he was being whacked around and tossed into a pie. "Now you see me, now you don't!" Dire said as he disappeared like the cat from Alice before reappearing behind Leo and knocking him to another pipe.
"This isn't working!" Leo called before Donnie was tossed to him as they flew around.
Dread then chased after Raph as he tried to avoid his strikes, but then Dark planted him to the ground with his tail while Mikey faced a smaller Dave. "Hold still, Dave! I gotta chuck ya!" He called as he tried to whack Dave, but the small beaver kept avoiding it while multiplying and laughing.
The Daves then turned a water valve that flooded the turtles across New York, TCRI, and even Dimension X before they were in the meat processing factor, on a conveyor belt without their arms or legs.
The Dream Beavers laughed as the boys started moving towards a pit of fire and screamed in panic while the girls watched in horror.
"The boys are done for! The beavers can control their dreams! They can't even get a scratch on them!" Jenny exclaimed in panic.
"But how come we aren't affected." Ames reminded.
"Because this isn't our dream, meaning the Beavers have no power over us." Tal concluded.
"So if we try to attack," Vee started as they all nodded in understanding.
"Let's get 'em!" Jenny yelled as she then charged at the Dream Beavers, knocking Dread down as he grunted in pain before pulling a switch that stopped the conveyor belt just before Donnie was about to be pulled over.
Tal attacked Dark, Ames attacked Dave, and Vee attacked Dire as the Dream Beavers were then pushed back and they yelled in pain, which shocked them. "What?! Impossible! No one can hurt the Dream Beavers!" Dark yelled in rage.
"Dude, when are you gonna get it that my sisters and I aren't dreaming!?" Jenny questioned as Ames used her whip to get the boys off the conveyor belt and away from the fire. "My sister here used her Dreamwalker powers to get in here to save our boys!" She added while gesturing to Vee.
"In the realm of Dreams, the only limit is our imagination, we can control what to do here, not you!" Vee said as she then turned into light-blue water and went up to Dire Beaver and gave a smirk. "Surprise!" She called as she then took out her chakrams and whacked Dire, which he grunted before Vee flipped up and gave him a kick to the head.
"Whoa!" Leo called before Dread was about to stab them, but Jenny came in with fire coming out of her body and shot a beam at Dread, which made him scream in pain.
"Do you want your food Rare medium or well done?!" Jenny quipped as she flew straight to Dread and smashed him into the wall.
"Man, that's hot!" Raph called with a smile at seeing Jenny fighting Dread.
Ames then came up to Dave and started drawing in rocks to arms and whips before wrapping him "Sorry, Dave. But for trying to drain my man's life force, you're getting grounded!" She called out.
"Oh, no! Please don't!" Dave pleaded before Ames lifted him up and tossed him around the room.
"You rock, Ames! Literally!" Mikey laughed as he turned to his limbless brothers. "Get it? Because…"
"We get it!" His brothers yelled out in annoyance. Dark then tried to make a dash for the boys but Tal stood in his way.
"Sorry, buck tooth, but the boys aren't on the menu!" Tal exclaimed as she then shot a tornado arrow from her bow, which sent Dark flying into a wall, "Salty enough for ya?" She mocked.
"That is awesome, Tal!" Donnie cheered up.
"You girls are more trouble others we've sucked dry!" Dire admitted as he moved out from the wall as his beaver brothers came up to him. "No matter, we'll just keep breaking you down until your nothing but dessert!"
"Good luck trying," Vee said as she stood in front of them. "We don't care how long or how much it will take to beat you, we will stop you!"
"Then it's time for some barbecue!" Dire yelled.
"Barbcue? Are we having kabobs?" Dave asked in curiousy.
"Shut up, Dave!" The beavers yelled at the small beaver as they and the girls all charged at each other while the boys watched the struggle in amazement.
Back in reality, the Olly, Naomi, Orimura, Dariyasa, Harumi, Leatherhead, and the O'Neil sisters watched the four girls still glowing while the four New Yorker turtles were still sleeping and glowing as well. "Are they doing okay in there?" April asked in concern.
"Yeah, they hardly move." Robyn added in agreement. "Why haven't they woken up the boys yet?"
Dariyasa checked the boys careful, "There pulses have stopped decreasing and their breathing returned to normal, that's a good sign," She said optimistically.
"But they are still out of it." Olly said as he walked up to Raph and smacked him again, which still hasn't woken up. "Seriously, I've enjoyed this the first couple of times, but now it's starting to get old."
"Perhaps the forces still have a strong hold over them, preventing them from waking up by their mere existence." Orimura said while rubbing his chin. "Unless we find a way to break it, they will be forever trapped in the realms of dreams."
"Well, that's not good." Olly said in concern before Casey and Keno rushed in.
"Guys, we're back!" Keno called before he looked at the others. "And they're still asleep?!"
"They're stable, but they are still trapped in the dream world." Harumi said to them. "If the girls don't wake them up, none of them will ever wake up again."
Casey then pulled Bernie in as he looked in shock. "Oh my gosh, is that TV set an astroview?" Bernie asked pointing at the TV.
"Really? Not oh my gosh, giant turtles and a giant alligator?" April asked looking at the others while the other half of the group looked at him in confusion.
"You see them too?" Bernie asked before Casey grabbed his shoulders.
"Bernie, the Dream Beavers are sucking out their life force! How do we wake them up?!" Casey said worriedly.
"You can't! The Obturaculum keeps the beavers trapped in the dream realm, and as long as they're there they're dream powers are unbeatable, that's why I don't sleep!" Bernie explained. "Got any coffee by the way?"
"There must be some way to force the Dream Beavers out of the Turtles' minds." Leatherhead said to them.
"There is." Keno said as he took the book from Bernie. "You said that this keeps them in the dream realm, right?" He asked while showing the Dream Plug.
"Yes!" Bernie nodded before he realized something. "Wait? What are you…" He was cut off when Keno tossed the book up. "No!" He yelled as Keno used one of his batons and smashed the plug.
Back in the dream, while the girls are still fighting the Dream Beavers, electricity was floating around the area while everyone looked around.
"What is this?" Dire asked in shock.
"The barrier is broken!" Dark said in realization.
"We are free, free!" Dread said evilly as they all laughed like maniacs; the turtle's bodies finally started to disappear.
Back in reality, the sleeping turtles found themselves back the world stopped glowing and groaned from the experience they had while Vee stumbled back before Dariyasa caught her. "Now that was a total rush." She moaned while rubbing her head.
"My friends!" Leatherhead cheered happily as he rushed up to them and picked up Raph and Mikey in a hug. "You are awake!"
"The obturaculum is broken! The beavers are free! Free to destroy our world, all is lost! All is lost!" Bernie screamed in horror as the book shot an energy wave, the beavers laughed evilly as they finally emerged.
"Wait a minute…" Dire said as the beavers realized they were the size of normal beavers. "Aw, dang." He muttered.
"Hi, Dave." Mikey and Ames waved to the cute blue beaver.
"Hi, Mikey. Hi, Ames." Dave waved back.
"Shut up, Dave!" The other beavers yelled.
"This is it?!" Bernie questioned in desblief. "This is what I've been protecting the Earth from for 40 years?! Plush toys!?" He exclaimed while clutching his head.
"They're actually kinda cute," Robyn said, scratching Dave behind the ear.
"Aw, we are cute, aren't we?" Dave said with a smile as his tail waggled from the touch.
"Shut up, Dave!" The other beavers yelled again.
"If I were you guys, I'd be…" Casey started with a brow.
"Leaving, my thoughts exactly." Dire finished. "Come, beavers! Let us leave this world for one that is-" He was cut off when Olly kicked him.
"Out!" Olly ordered.
"Alright! We're going, big bully," Dire said grumbly as he and the beavers disappeared in a cloud of dust as they all laughed until they vanished.
"April, Casey, Keno, Robyn, giant talking turtles, and alligator, I've been awake for forty years for no good reason," Bernie said to them as he slouched and then yawned. "So… if you'll excuse me…" He said before he then flopped to the floor and fell asleep like a ton of bricks as he snored loudly.
"Well, who wants to help me carry him back home?" Casey asked, looking at Bernie.
"I'll help." Donnie said as he stood up. "I've slept through enough today," Donnie said as he got up and he and Casey carried Bernie out of the hut.
The others then left to get some action while Vee slumped down on a bed, "You okay?" Leo asked, sitting next to her.
"Yeah. Just…Exhausted. Using so much of spiritual energy in the dream realm…." Vee said while giving a yawn and stretch. "Really takes it out of you. How's the leg?" She asked while slumping forward.
Leo looked at his leg and rubs it, "Well, even though it was terrifying and we almost bought it, and everything, but my leg really feels a lot better." He said with a smile, which Vee smiled softly
"See, we told you having a little rest will help, Leo," Vee said before she stretched again. "You just gotta be patient and don't try and strain yourself." She said, leaning against Leo, wrapping her arm around his.
"Yeah, I guess you and the others are right. I just gotta go easy and don't push myself hard." Leo said with a small smile. "Thanks for saving me and my bros, Vee." He said, but then there was silent. "Vee?" He asked. He turned and saw Vee had fallen asleep, and she snorred lightly while resting on his shoulder.
"Right. Energy drained." He whispered with a small smile before slowly caressing his hand on Vee's cheek. "Sleep dreams, Vee." He said as Vee gave a small smile while in her sleep, as in her dream she saw their victory over the Kraang and Shredder, all their friends and family celebrating in the village, dancing and laughing together…and she and Leo sharing a heartwarming kiss.
And she knew in her heart that someday, this dream would come true.
Venus's power to enter people's dreams is a reference to TMNT The Next Mutation, her debut series when she and the Turtles entered the Dream World to fight the Dragon Lord.
