Totally Spies: Clover's Totally Fabulous Birthday
Chapter 6
Sam, Alex and Stella were still looking around the store.
After a few minutes, Alex spoke up, "Don't you think Clover and Daisy should have been back by now?"
"Hmm, maybe we should go check on them?" Sam suggested.
"Good idea," Alex said.
Sam, Alex and Stella started walking towards the fitting room.
Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, Stella noticed something coming straight at them.
"Look out!" Stella shouted.
Stella pushed Sam and Alex to the ground right before a blue laser went straight past them and blasted a big hole in the wall behind them.
Sam, Alex and Stella got up and had shocked expressions on their faces.
"What the heck was that?!" Sam said in shock.
"Yer doom, that's what it was, you spy varmints!" Mindy's voice came.
Sam and Alex looked to see Mindy and Phoebe walk toward them armed with high-tech looking laser gadgets.
"Mindy and Phoebe?!" Sam said in bewilderment.
"What's the big idea?!" Alex asked in total confusion.
"Oh, not much," Phoebe answered. "We just came to eliminate you troublesome spies once and for all!"
"As per our Mistress' orders," Mindy added.
Sam and Alex put two and two together.
"Oh no!" Alex exclaimed. "Mindy and Phoebe must have been turned into spy-sassins."
"And they seem to be working for someone," Sam added. "And I'm willing to bet Mandy's in on this too."
"Oh, you've gotta be kidding me!" Stella groaned with a hand on her forehead.
"Enough talk!" Mindy said. She pointed her weapon at the girls. "You spies are goin down!"
Mindy and Phoebe started shooting blue lasers at the girls.
"Spread out, Girls!" Sam shouted.
Sam, Alex and Stella started running in different directions to avoid the laser blasts.
Meanwhile, in the fitting room, Mandy was standing in front of Clover and Daisy with an evil smile, while Clover was tied up in a blue glowing rope.
"Hey, Mandy, what's the big idea?!" Clover demanded.
"What's with the freaky glowing rope gadget?" Daisy asked. "And that purple jumpsuit get-up?"
"Oh, not much, losers!" Mandy responded. "I'm just having the pleasure of bagging you for my mistress while my fellow spy-sassins take care of the others in your spy-loser posse!"
After a few seconds it dawned on Clover, "Oh, great! Mandy's a spy-sassin again!"
"That's right, Clover," Mandy said with an evil grin. "And I'll have the pleasure of getting revenge for how you humiliated me at my ski chalet!"
"Wait. You remember what happened the last time you were a spy-sassin?!" Clover said in complete bewilderment.
"That's right, loser!" Mandy confirmed. "Though if you're wondering, we're not working with that lamo inventor anymore. Now us spy-sassins are taking orders from a new mistress. And for the first thing on her wish list, I've been sent to bag you for her, Clover."
"Me?!" Clover said in confusion.
"What does this 'mistress' of yours want with my sister, Mandy?!" Daisy demanded.
Mandy just shrugged, "Don't know, don't care. All I know is if you don't get out of my way, I'll have to eliminate you whether you're a spy or not, shorty."
Daisy snarled at that comment.
"You stay away from my sister, Mandy!" Clover shouted.
"It's ok, Clover. I can handle it," Daisy said while taking up a fighting stance.
"But… but… you're not a spy!" Clover said in disbelief.
"I know," Daisy admitted. "But I can still fight. I do have a black belt in karate after all."
Mandy just laughed, "Oh, please. What good can loser karate skills do against a spy-sassin? Especially one with an electron laser rope emitter which I had just used to trap your loser sister."
Mandy was about to fire another laser rope at Daisy, but before she could, Daisy ran right up to Mandy.
"Hiya!" With one swift karate kick Daisy knocked the gun out of Mandy's hands.
"Why you little!" Mandy lunged at Daisy.
Daisy unleashed a left-hook punch on Mandy's face which hit her left eye, making it black.
"Ow!" Mandy shouted.
Clover couldn't believe it.
"Wow! Nice job, Sis! I wanted to give Mandy a black eye for ages," Clover commented. "Good left hook too."
Daisy giggled. But before she could say anything else, Mandy got back up and looked really angry.
"You will pay for that, you little pipsqueak!" Mandy shouted, snarling with anger.
"I get the feeling I really made her mad," Daisy said, sounding really nervous.
"Safe to say that you did," Clover added nervously.
Back outside the waiting room, Sam, Alex and Stella continued avoiding laser blasts from Mindy and Phoebe while the ensuing chaos was causing everyone else in the store to run away.
Sam, Alex and Stella spotted the checkout desk before they ran to it and took cover behind it.
"Ugh, where did those spy-varmints run off to?" Mindy said begrudgingly. "Come out and fight!"
As Sam, Alex and Stella hid behind the desk, they discussed what their next move should be.
"Now what are we gonna do?" Alex wondered aloud. "Clover and Daisy are probably in danger too. And we won't be able to help them with Mindy and Phoebe all over us with lasers!
Sam thought for a moment.
"I've got an idea," Sam said. "Alex, you and I will lead Mindy and Phoebe out of the store and into a less populated area. Stella, you'll go check on Clover and Daisy. Is that alright with you?"
"Of course," Stella nodded with a look of determination. "No one's gonna harm my daughters while I'm here!"
"Alright, let's do it, Sammy," Alex said with a look of resolve.
"Alright," Sam said. "Ready and… scatter!"
With that, Sam and Alex ran out from behind the check-out desk, while Stella ran in the opposite direction.
Mindy saw Sam and Alex running out of the store.
"Hey, they're getting away! Get back here!" Mindy shouted.
She started to chase after them. Phoebe started to follow after Mindy, but out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Stella running in the opposite direction.
Phobe smirked, "So that's their game, is it?"
Sam and Alex continued to run over to a warehouse near the groove. Mindy continued to chase after them with her laser gadget in hand.
"Aww, come on, quit running already!" Mindy complained.
Mindy fired lasers at Sam and Alex, but they skillfully dodged the lasers as they continued running.
Mindy then noticed Sam and Alex running into the warehouse in front of them.
"So they think they can hide, can they?" Mindy said with a smirk.
Sam and Alex ran into the warehouse.
"Alright, Alex," Sam said. "Ready to take down this spy-sassin?"
"You know I'm ready, Sammy," Alex said with a look of determination.
Sam and Alex each held up their compowders and each pressed a button on them, before the device immediately changed Sam and Alex into their WOOHP catsuits.
"Well, use our suction cup bottom gogo-boots to surprise Mindy," Alex said.
Sam smirked, "Kinda like how you and Clover surprised me with that butt-kicking at Sushi-Shishi before we fought Sushi Bob."
"Hehe, yeah," Alex said awkwardly.
"It's ok, as long as I'm the 'butt-kicker' and not the butt-kickee," Sam pointed out.
Mindy ran into the warehouse and scanned the room for Sam and Alex.
"Where are those spy varmints?" Mindy wondered aloud. "I could have sworn I saw them come in here. Where are they?!"
Mindy irritably looked in all directions for Sam and Alex. Little did she think to look up.
Sam and Alex were hanging upside on the roof using their suction cup boots, planning to drop down and attack.
"Ready…" Sam whispered. "And… now!"
Sam and Alex dropped down from the roof.
"What the…?!" Before Mindy could say anything else, a few swift punches and kicks were thrown by Sam and Alex, knocking her out.
They both stood over Mindy who was currently unconscious.
"Well, that worked out better than I had hoped," Alex commented.
"We'd better call Jerry," Sam announced. "We'll need him to make more of that spy-sassin antidote."
"Yeah, but we also need to help Stella, Clover and Daisy," Alex pointed out.
Sam nodded, "Right. Let's go!"
Alex soon realized something and looked back at Mindy.
"Um… is it really a good idea to just leave her here?" Alex wondered aloud.
Sam sighed, "I'll carry her.
Stella spotted the door to the fitting room and ran towards it. Just then, she was tackled to the ground by Phoebe. Phoebe pinned Stella on the floor.
"Going somewhere, spy?" Phoebe sneered. "I wouldn't hear of it."
"Sorry about that, Phoebe," Stella groaned. "But you and your troublesome kids will soon be totally in for it!"
But Stella managed to kick Phoebe off and knock her back. Stella got up and quickly began rummaging through her purse.
"Ah, here it is!" Stella took out a device that looked like a super high tech hair dryer.
Phoebe got up and snarled at Stella.
"Wind Tunnel 9000, don't fail me now!" Stella pointed the gadget at Phoebe before a strong gust of wind was shot out of the device and knocked Phoebe against the wall.
The impact from hitting the wall was so hard that after the gadget stopped blasting its wind, Phoebe collapsed onto the floor.
"Wow, this thing packs a punch," Stella said in amazement.
Meanwhile, Mandy was angrily trying to land a punch on Daisy. But Daisy did her best to dodge the attacks.
"You can't evade me forever, Shorty!" Mandy shouted.
"Stop calling me Shorty!" Daisy snarled.
Daisy tried to throw a punch at Mandy, but Mandy caught Daisy's fist in the palm of her hand. Daisy tried to hit Mandy with her other fist, but Mandy caught it as well.
Mandy grinned evilly before she started tightening her grip on both fists and began to slowly push Daisy down to the floor.
"Oh, no! Daisy!" Clover called out worriedly.
Mandy had Daisy pinned to the ground.
"Now you're mine, loser!" Mandy said before laughing evilly.
But all of a sudden, Stella burst through the door and jump-kicked Mandy to the ground.
"Mom!" Clover and Daisy exclaimed, happy to see their mother.
Stella, with a scowl on her face, walked towards Mandy.
"That was for trying to harm my daughters," Stella declared.
Mandy tried to get up but before she could, Stella lifted her up by the collar, and punched her hard in the face knocking her out.
"And that was for kidnapping me two years ago," Stella said.
"Mom!" Daisy said happily.
Daisy ran over and gave her mother a big hug. Stella returned the hug with a smile.
"My babies, are you alright?" Stella asked.
"We're fine," Daisy replied.
"Well, yeah, for the most part, but I'm still stuck here," Clover pointed out as she continued to struggle in the rope.
Daisy pointed across the room to the rope gadget Mandy trapped Clover with.
"Mandy used that gadget to trap Clover," Daisy explained.
Stella walked over to the rope gadget, picked it up and inspected it, before noticing a little button on the side. Stella pressed the button and the blue rope surrounding Clover disappeared.
Clover got up and dusted herself off.
"Whew. Being trapped in a freaky glowing rope while Mandy tries to kill my sister," Clover commented. "Not exactly my best birthday moment."
"It's ok, Clover," Daisy assured. "I tried my best."
"Did you try to take on that awful girl by yourself?" Stella said sternly.
"Yes," Daisy said nervously. "But I had to. Mandy was trying to kidnap Clover, I couldn't just let that happen."
"She was doing a pretty good job against Mandy, at first," Clover added in Daisy's defense. "Until Mandy managed to get the upper hand."
Stella sighed, "Look, I know you're skilled in karate, but this spy stuff is way more dangerous. Me, Carmen and Gabby learned that the hard way."
Daisy sighed, "I understand, mom."
"Hey, don't beat yourself up too much, Daisy," Clover reassured her sister. "You were really brave to stand up to Mandy like that."
Daisy beamed, "You really think so?"
"Of course," Clover said. Clover put a hand on her sister's shoulder and smiled. Daisy smiled back.
"I… suppose that is true," Stella admitted.
Clover's expression turned serious, "We need to call Jerr and have him take in Mandy and give her some of that spy-sassin antidote."
"It's not just Mandy," Stella added. "Her mother and cousin were apparently infected by that nasty green stuff too."
"Seriously?!" Clover said in shock.
"Where are Sam and Alex?" Daisy asked.
"They were luring that Mindy girl over to a less populated area," Stella explained. "I took down Phoebe outside."
"Well, then, come on," Clover chimed in. "We should see if they need help."
Clover, Daisy and Stella ran out of the fitting room.
Outside, Sam, who had Mindy draped over her back, and Alex had just shown up and met up with Clover, Daisy and Stella.
"Clover! Daisy! Stella!" Alex exclaimed happily. "Thank goodness you're alright!"
Alex leapt at Clover and gave her a hug.
Clover chuckled, "I'm happy to see you too, Alex."
"Are you Girls alright?" Sam asked with concern in her voice.
"We're fine," Clover assured. She noticed Mindy draped over Sam's back. "Has a little spy-sassin trouble too huh?"
Sam sighed, "Yep."
Sam dropped Mindy to the ground.
"Well, Mandy somehow turned into a spy-sassin too and tried to attack me and Daisy!" Clover groaned.
"I knew Mandy was also involved in this!" Alex groaned.
"Yeah and get this," Clover continued. "Somehow she remembered what she did the last time she was a spy-sassin!"
"Wait, what?!" Alex said in surprise.
"How is that possible?" Sam asked in total confusion.
"I have no idea," Clover replied. "But she attacked us and tried to kidnap me!"
"Wait, Mandy tried to kidnap you, not kill you?" Sam asked in confusion. "Why?"
"Who knows?" Clover said with a shrug. "Mandy said she was taking orders from her… 'mistress' or something."
"Mindy and Phoebe mentioned the same thing before they tried to kill us," Alex explained.
"But why would they try to kidnap Clover, but kill the rest of us?" Stella wondered aloud. "And who could they possible be working for?"
"I don't know," Sam said wearily. "But something tells me that whoever it was may have it in for Clover more than the rest of us."
Clover sighed, "So yet another villain has it in for me. And on my birthday of all days. What else is new?"
"But who could possibly be behind this?" Alex asked.
"We'll have to figure that out later," Sam said. "Right now, we need Jerry to pick up the spy-sassins and give them the antidote."
"He should be on his way right now," Alex added.
As if on cue, the spies noticed a helicopter flying in a hovering right up above them.
They saw that it was Jerry piloting the helicopter while Dean, Britney and Blaine were sitting in the back.
Clover smiled, "Speak of the devil."
The spies were unaware that Agent Beta was watching them from a nearby bush.
"Mistress," Agent Beta spoke into a radio. "I'm afraid Mandy your spy-sassins have failed."
"I had a feeling they botch the mission," Grace's voice came through.
"Should we try to rescue them before WOOHP takes them away?" Agent Beta asked.
"No," Grace responded. "Mandy and those lamo excuses for spy-sassins have served their purpose. Just be ready to execute plan B when I give the word."
Agent Beta nodded, "Yes, Mistress."
