Totally Spies: Clover's Totally Fabulous Birthday

Chapter 8

After hearing the info that Trent provided them with, Clover, Sam, Alex and Britney were standing outside Mandy's dorm. They left Trent in Mandy's dorm room after making him promise not to say anything. They would have to tell Jerry to erase his memory again later. Right now, they were discussing what they had heard from Trent about 'Mistress Husk'.

"Do you really think Geraldine is Mandy's so-called 'mistress'?" Alex asked with a worried expression.

"I don't want to believe it either Alex," Sam responded. "But it actually makes perfect sense. There's only one baddie we know who's last name is 'Husk' and that's Geraldine. It also explains why Mandy's mistress wanted Clover of all people kidnapped. I bet Geraldine wanted to capture Clover so she could do away with Clover herself."

Clover was seething with anger, "So first that witch turns me into a bionic slave… then she tries to have me murdered and ruin my life… now she wants to wreck my birthday?!" Clover growled as she pounded the palm of her hand with her fist. "Oh, she is going down!"

"Wow, you must have a real beef with that Geraldine person," Britney speculated.

"Well, yeah!" Clover replied. "After all, she had Blaine try to murder me and nearly ruined my life. Not to mention she turned me and Blaine into deflated elastic freaks. I really wanted to smash her head in for that."

Sam put her hand on Clover's shoulder.

"We know how you feel, Clover," Sam spoke in a sympathetic voice.

"We really wanted to get back at Geraldine too after the way she played us like that," Alex added. "We're part of the reason you had to face Geraldine on your own and got deflated by that WOOHP weapon."

"But we're not letting that happen this time," Sam assured the blonde fashionista.

"From now on, we're sticking together no matter what," Alex added.

Clover smiled gratefully, "Thanks, Girls. I'm so lucky to have you two as my best friends. You two are the best BBFs in the whole wide world."

The three best friends joined in a hug.

Alex notices Britney with a shy expression on her face.

"Bring it in, Britney," Alex offered with a smile.

Britney smiled brightly and joined in the hug with her fellow spies.

After breaking the hug, Sam developed a serious expression.

"Alright, we need to tell Jerry that Geraldine might be the villain behind this whole thing," Sam said.

But all of a sudden, the floor opened below them. They fell through a trap door and went down a secret tunnel slide that brought them all the way to WOOHP headquarters. Until they landed on the sofa in Jerry's office.

"I'm sorry if I'm interrupting your investigation, super-spies," Jerry said sincerely.

"Actually, you WOOHPed us at the perfect time, Jerr," Sam spoke up. "There's something we really need to tell you."

"Before you do, I have some rather disturbing news," Jerry said with a grim look on his face.

"What kind of disturbing news?" Alex asked wearily.

"Very disturbing actually," Dean's voice came.

The girls looked to see that Dean, Blaine and Stella were standing next to the sofa.

"Mom, Dean, Blaine?" Clover said in surprise. "What are you doing here?"

Clover suddenly noticed that one person from the group wasn't with them.

"Hey, where's Daisy?" Clover asked urgently.

"I'm afraid that's what the 'disturbing news' regards, Clover," Jerry answered. He hesitated before he dropped the bombshell. "Your sister has been abducted."

Sam, Alex and Britney gained looks of complete shock. But Clover had the biggest reaction.

"WHAT?!" She squealed in complete shock. "What happened? How did it happen?! Who did it?! Who took my sister?!"

"Honey, calm down!" Stella said as she put her hands on Clover's shoulders. "Yelling about it isn't helping anything."

"It all happened so fast," Dean spoke up. "We were just decorating the house and then the room was filled with knockout gas. When we woke up, Daisy was just… gone."

"And you don't know where or why they could have taken her?" Britney asked with a worried look.

Dean shook his head, "No, unfortunately."

Blaine looked at Clover with a face full of guilt.

"I'm really sorry, Clover," Blaine spoke up. "I should have been able to protect your sister and I couldn't even do that."

Clover sighed, "It's alright, Blaine. It happens. Some things we just have no control over."

"Hey, don't think that it's just on you, Blaine," Dean assured the former freelance spy. "We're all responsible."

"Even I feel somewhat responsible for letting my daughter get taken," Stella added.

"Well, in any case…" Jerry got everyone's attention. "We need to get on tracking her down right away."

"Jerry," Sam spoke up. "If it helps, we may have figured out who's behind this whole thing."

"Oh?" Jerry said, curiosity piqued. "And who might it be?"

Sam had a serious face, "Geraldine."

"Geraldine?" Jerry said in surprise.

"Her?!" Blaine said with a slight hint of anger in his voice.

"I understand she's the one responsible for Clover's… misfortunes over a year ago?" Stella inquired.

"Yep. That's the one," Clover groaned.

"I still haven't forgiven that witch for tricking me into trying to murder Clover," Blaine groaned. "And for doing other bad stuff to Clover while I was trying to track her down."

"What makes you think Geraldine is behind this?" Jerry inquired.

"Trent told us that he overheard Mandy talking about someone named Mistress Husk," Alex explained.

"The only baddie we know with the last name Husk is Geraldine," Sam continued. "And our mystery baddie was after Clover. It has to be Geraldine."

"They're right, Jerr," Clover added. "Geraldine is exactly the kind of person who'd want to attack me and my friends and kidnap my sister on my birthday."

"Hmm…" Jerry thought for a moment. "I can see why you would think so, Clover."

Jerry pressed a few buttons on his computer.

"Unfortunately, it would seem you are wrong as Geraldine is still incarcerated in the WOOHP holding facility," Jerry pointed out. "See for yourselves."

On the screen behind him, Jerry brought up an image of security camera footage of Geraldine. Sure enough, the baddie who Clover had history with was indeed inside her cell. Or so it seemed.

"Um, are you sure that's actually Geraldine," Clover asked with her arms crossed. "Cause no offense, Jerr, but it wouldn't be the first time you were duped by a total fake. Or the second time, I might add."

Jerry blushed from embarrassment as he knew what Clover was talking about.

"I… understand your concern, Clover," Jerry spoke. "But I can assure you this is actually Geraldine. You see…" Jerry went on. "After our last… altercation with her, I decided to take extra precautions in case any villain decided to trick me using a fake version of any of you. And as such, all of the cameras in WOOHP have been equipped with a special scanner developed by WOOHP scientists. This scanner has the ability to scan anyone to tell if they're actually human or merely any kind of fake a baddie may use to frame you. Androids, holograms, you name it. Even genetic replications. After being tricked by imposters twice, I wasn't going to let a baddie trick me into doubting any of you a third time."

"Wow…" Clover said. She was actually very touched. "That's very considerate of you, Jerr."

"Well, thank you, Clover," Jerry said with a smile. "But more importantly, the scanner indicates that the woman currently in the cell really is Geraldine."

"But… if Geraldine isn't the one behind this…" Alex started saying.

"Who is?" Sam finished.

"I'm not sure," Jerry answered. "But it is possible that whoever is doing this might somehow be connected to Geraldine."

Sam snapped her fingers as she had a sudden realization.

"Come to think of it," Sam spoke up. "I wonder if this mystery baddie might somehow be a relative of Geraldine."

"Yeah!" Alex agreed. "Any relative of Geraldine would probably want revenge on us just as much as she does!"

"Hmmm," Jerry thought for a moment. "You just might be onto something, Sam."

"Well, whoever this mystery baddie is…" Blaine spoke up. "If whoever it is really is related to Geraldine and kidnapped Daisy, we gotta take this baddie down!"

"You got that right, Blaine," Clover added with a sheer look of determination. "Geraldine or not, no one takes my sister from me and gets away with it."

Sam put her hand on Clover's shoulder.

"Clover, I promise we'll get Daisy back no matter what," Sam said with a determined look. "But we still need to figure out where they could have taken her."

All of a sudden, Jerry's computer started beeping.

Jerry took a quick look at his computer.

"Oh, my… it appears we've just received a voice message," Jerry took a look at the message.

"Play it, Jerr," Sam said in anticipation.

Jerry played the voice message and brought it up on the computer screen.

"This message is for Clover," The figure in the message was speaking in a scrambled voice. "We have your sister. No harm has come to her… yet."

Clover growled at what the voice just said.

"I assume your boss Jerry knows how to trace the location this message was sent from," The voice continued speaking. "Come there by the end of the day and bring your friends with you too, Or else your sister will pay the price."

The spies developed looks of horror as they heard that message, especially Clover and Stella.

When the voice message was finished playing, Clover was seething with anger.

"No one threatens my sister and gets away with it!" Clover said in anger.

"I agree with you, Clover!" Alex added. "Whoever these baddies are we gotta take em down!"

"Jerry, can you trace the location of that message," Sam asked.

"Already done," Jerry informed. "The message appears to have been sent from an abandoned industrial complex just on the outskirts of Beverly Hills."

"Then that's where we need to go right away," Sam spoke in a serious tone.

"You got that right, Sammy," Clover said with a sheer look of resolve. "We're not gonna let these baddies get away with taking Daisy and trying to wreck my fabulous birthday."

"I'm coming with you," Stella chimed in. "No one threatens my both of my daughters and gets away with it."

"Of course, Mom," Clover said to her mother with a smile.

"I'm coming too," Britney spoke up. "Anyone who picks a fight with my friends picks a fight with me."

"You got it, Britney," Alex said with a smile.

"I'm going with you too," Blaine said with a look of resolve. "If this baddie is related to Geraldine and she kidnapped Daisy, I gotta do something to help too. After all, I still feel responsible for what Geraldine did to you girls last time."

"Sure, Blaine," Clover replied.

"Of course," Sam added.

"No argument here," Alex added.

"I think I'd better wait at the penthouse," Dean spoke up. "Just in case you need someone to bring backup later."

"Good idea, Dean," Sam agreed.

"Well, I guess that's settled then," Jerry spoke. "I'll have the WOOHP jet ready to take you there right away."

"Thanks, Jerr," Clover said. "Alright, girls. We ready to go rescue Daisy and teach those baddies a lesson?"

"Yeah!" the spies said in unison.

Meanwhile, inside a gigantic dark room, Daisy was sitting on a chair, tied up and gagged. She was struggling to find some way to get freed.

"Comfy in your little chair, Daisy Ewing?" the voice of Grace Husk came.

Daisy looked to see Grace come into view and step towards her.

"Oh, don't worry, your precious sister and her friends should be coming to rescue you right now," Grace spoke before smiling evilly. "And when they do, we'll be waiting for them.

Daisy glared at the evil young woman standing opposite her. Daisy hoped her sister and her friends would be alright.
