Hi guys, sorry for the delay, but I've been on a bit of a 40k paining binge. I also recently had my second covid jab, so my mind has been a little off. Other than that, I'm going to be away starting on the 4th of September for a 2-week holiday. The internet at the place isn't good so I cannot promise on updates. But other than that, enjoy especially the end.

The street was quiet as the moon shone on the capital city. People were shut in their homes as murder filled the air. The Dark Street gang was on the prowl, and no one wanted to be in the firing line of them. A gang of nearly 100 demi-humans and criminals walked up to the EDF support centre and surrounded it. Tetrus, the gang leader stepped forward with his cloak flowing in the light breeze.

"EDF, we offered you peace, you refused. Now we'll show you what you get for refusing us," he declared and Artemis, the minotaur walked up to the building, axe in hand.

He roared as he swung the axe but before it could connect to the door, it exploded and forced the minotaur to stumble back. One of the EDF troopers walked out. A member of the 'security' group they had. He was built like bear but now, with his armour on, he looked like a giant. His hands were now encased in large metal gauntlets that were shaped like fists. As he exited, he took a fighter's stance that none of the gangsters recognised. He then began o bounce from one foot to the other.

Annoyed and enraged, the minotaur charged but as he got close, the EDF trooper pulled back his fist and slammed it into the demi-human's arm. There was a loud crack from the minotaur as he was pushed back. But he didn't get up instead he coughed up blood before he died. Some of the criminals backed up as they looked up at the soldier before them. The EDF soldier slammed his fists together before charging.

Some of the stronger criminals charged at the soldier as well, but the punch they receive from the soldier sent them flying. All of them yelled in pain with their limbs being twisted in unnatural ways. The other criminals began to turn only to see a group of EDF troopers standing behind them. Unlike the others, these wore long brown cloaks over their strange armour and glowing blue weapons in hand.

Several of the criminals charged in only to be cut down by the glowing weapons. Even blocking didn't do anything as the blue weapons cut though the metal. Fear and panic rushed though the criminal group, they were cornered despite outnumbering the EDF 20 to 1. But that number was going to be meaningless as several more troopers exited a few side buildings armed with the 'guns' they had heard so much about.

The standing criminals didn't stay standing for long as the guns barked cutting down the criminals who stood in place.

The next day, there was no signs of the battle that took place the previous night. But from then on, no other criminal group ventured into EDF territory, or did anything to gain their attention.

OOOOO Jade Palace.

Itami yawed as he got out of bed and stretched, cracking his limbs as he did so. A slight moan echoed from beside him making him turn.

"Ahhh," he yelled as he jumped back in shock as an Asian woman rose up from the bed.

"Is it morning already?" she asked before picking her glasses and looking around before her eyes settled on Itami. "Oh, hi Itami," she smiled.

"Risa? What are you doing in my bed?" he asked.

"You were drunk last night, so I brought you to your room," she smiled as she stood. "I was tired as well, so I decided to join you,"

"That would be ok if we were married, but we're not," Itami shot back as he stood and began to apply deodorant.

"It's not like I haven't seen it all before," Risa said as she stood and cracked her limbs with a yawn. "Or did it before,"

Itami just rolled his eyes as he pulled his clothing on.

OOOOO Later that day, Imperial Palace.

The party was in full swing as Itami moved around talking to the odd diplomat talking about the odd thing. Molt was going to make an announcement today, and invited everyone he could. King Duran was also attending thanks to the help of the EDF. He showed odd his new arm and leg to on lookers, some of who turned green at the sight of them. Others were just fascinated and wondered how they worked.

Rory sat by a table blessing a few guests and talked to a couple of kids. Leiei, however, sat in a corner typing something on her laptop. She had been on it for a while, according to Chuka, she was working on something for the magical guild and planned to make a presentation about it. But what that was, only Leiei could say. Chuka was also mingling with a group of elves, talking about the wonders beyond the gate.

Many of them listened with interest about the buildings and technology that waited at the other side of the gate. Itami moved over to the food table and took a glass of wine before Risa walked up to him and leaned into his ear.

"We need to talk," she said and pulled him away.

Rory watched on and followed. The two soon found a silent corridor to talk. Rory stayed hidden, but close and extended her senses to listen in on their conversation.

"Itami listen," Risa said as she spoke in Japanese. "I'm calling you here because High Command want you to know what's going to happen,"

Rory's ears perked up. She had learned Japanese not too long ago, and this was making her very interested.

"Star Comm has found something coming this way," she said in a hushed tone. "We think it's them, but we have no concrete evidence for that. We have detected bio-matter but we cannot detect anything else. Nothing identifying who they are. But command is worried, so as soon as it lands, you will be promoted to Colonel,"

Itami blinked. "Seriously?" he whispered. "They're that worried?"

Risa nodded. "We've already begun a partial mobilisation, we're just waiting for the thing to land before we fully deploy,"

Itami nodded "Ok, thanks Risa,"

His ex-wife smiled before the two embraced. But this peace was broken as their ear pieces activated and Verona

OOOOO About the same time, EDF public medical office.

Verona was finishing up a report before a noise met her ears. She left her officer and looked towards the entrance where one of the guards was having a talk with one of the demi-humans. The latter was panicking with Mizari holding her as the bird demi-human sank to her knees. The doctor walked up and Mizari looked toward her.

"Doctor, please help," the angel demi-human pleaded.

"What's wrong?" Verona asked as she came up to the bird demi-human.

"There's a volcano in my homeland," the bird replied. "And before there's an eruption, there's an earth-shake," Verona and the security looked to one another with a knowing look. "I've had the same feeling as then all day. I can't stop shaking,"

"We have an Earthquake shelter," Verona said. "Come on this way," she then led the group towards a door while she pressed on her radio. "Attention all EDF personnel, Earthquake incoming,"

OOOOO

"I repeat, Earthquake incoming!" the radio said and Itami and Risa looked at each other with wide eyes.

The two then ran into the hall where several EDF officials were already beginning to get people out of the palace. But many of them where confused, especially the princes who ran up to Itami.

"What going on?" she asked.

"We got intelligence that an earthquake is about to happen," Risa said as she grabbed onto Pina's arm and dragged her outside with everyone else.

"That's impossible," the princess insisted as she recovered from the pull. "The ground just doesn't shake,"

"It will we have…." One of the EDF officers was going to say but as he spoke was just when the ground began to shake.

A low rumble sounded as people began to hold onto whatever they can. The Imperials began to scream and panic while the EDF and others from Earth just stood keeping their eyes looking up in case of debris.

"The gods are angry," one of the imperials yelled.

"Don't worry, it's going to end soon," one of the officials said. "I think it's a 5.0,"

"Certainly, feels like it," another said as the shaking lasted for a few more moments before stopping.

"Is… is it over?" Chuka asked as she stood but clearly shaking.

"I doubt it," one of the officer's said as the Imperials began to stand. "Sometimes there are tremors and aftershocks. Smaller Earthquakes that happen after the main quake,"

After a few more moments, there was no sign of anything else and the party went back inside only to see the destruction. Debris filled the halls and rooms of the palace shocking the imperials, but not the EDF. This was nothing to them, but their calm attitude made them a little feared with some of the other Imperials.

"Such destruction," Molt said as he walked into his throne room.

He sighed as he walked up to the throne and brushed off the debris before looking around. Something nagged at him, he didn't know why though as he just focused on what to do. He fell onto his throne and rubbed his temple.

"Father," a voice said making him look up to see his second son, Zorzal, approach flanked by his bodyguards and slaves. "What happened here? Was it the EDF scum?"

"No," Molt replied. "This was not the EDF, this was due to the earth-shake. It's going to take a lot to get this repaired,"

"Then get our allies to do it," Zorzal shot back. "This is no place for an Emperor to reside,"

Molt was going to say something but Itami, Risa, Kyon and Hazuma walked in. "Emperor Molt, we apologise, but maybe you wish to hold off your announcement until the next senate meeting," Hazuma said.

Molt nodded. "I was thinking the same thing,"

But the second prince didn't like that. "You're listening to them? he asked. This scum,"

Itami shot him a look before noticing the slaves in the princes' care. The dark-haired slave then spoke.

"Help me please," she said before being kicked in the gut by one of the guards.

Eyes went wide as Molt and the EDF recognised the language in use. Itami then walked up to the prince who didn't back down.

"Release that girl now," he demanded.

Zorzal just spat in Itami's face. this was the worse move he could make as Itami slammed his head against the prince's breaking his nose and knocking out a few teeth. He collapsed backwards, crying out in pain. The bodyguard then tried to move in, but Risa and Kyon stopped them with pistol fire. Their shields did nothing as the high-powered pistols cut though the metal shields with ease. Killing or wounding the bodyguards, they made it to the two slaves and broke their chains.

"What are you doing father? Kill them," Zorzal demanded.

But Molt didn't say anything. "I'll investigate to see if anyone from your world was take as slaves,"

"See that you do," Hazuma said, his voice low and venomous.

OOOOO Unexplored territory.

In the front of the large asteroid, a smaller one hit the barren landscape with a loud thud creating a large crater. Rain soon fell onto the asteroid cooling it down as a wild wyvern landed close by, curious about what had landed in its territory. It walked down into the crater sniffing the air, being careful with what had landed here. It couldn't smell anything about the rock, but something was off.

It soon reached the space rock as it cracked opened. It tried to back away, but something grabbed it by the face and pulled it into the rock. A pig fleshy mass soon encased the rock and began to grow around the crater. As morning came around, a creature emerged from the mass ready to take the world.
