Episode 272: The Kanto Grand Festival Part 3
Here's the final chapter of this three part arc, and just so you know, Kairi will be winning the Kanto Grand Festival, but not without a difficult challenge before the final battle. And we're just chapters away from beginning the Sinnoh region arc, but I won't say too much about it. For now, here is the last part of the Kanto Grand Festival. Make sure you enjoy it.
Last time, Kairi, May, Drew, Harley, Solidad, and Mary Jane made it in as 64 contestants, so it began well with Drew, giving a fantastic water show with his Absol, along with Octillery giving off a fire show, Mary Jane going on a rainbow ride on her Rapidash, Solidad with a Psychic water show, May's Solar Beam and Power-Up Punch sound, and finished with Kairi and Angel's Swift ballet performance which captured the hearts of millions. But just before May and Kairi have done their performances, Roxas, along with Xion, and their respective partners have been in pursuit of a wild Kangaskhan. Roxas discovered Kangaskhan was running out of steam more times he battled against the large kangaroo-like Pokémon until she finally ran out of steam thanks to Xipak's Thunderbolt. Not only Roxas was successful in capturing Kangaskhan, but Kairi, May, and their rivals have made it as the 16 finalists of the Kanto Grand Festival. And this brings us to the first battle. May have been paired up with Harley like in the Hoenn Grand Festival? Will May be able to defeat Harley and Drew again, and will Kairi and May be paired for the final round of the Kanto Grand Festival? Well, we are here to find out for ourselves.
The first battle was about to begin as May and Harley have taken their positions. Before the semifinals began, Kairi exchanged Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Corsola for Mismagius, Claydol, and Altaria.
"Okay, folks! Get ready because here's the semifinals of the Kanto Pokémon Contest Grand Festival! And we're beginning our battles, and they're all double battles! There will be five minutes on the clock to show off their moves and reduce their opponent's points as much as possible! But a TKO is always a possibility, so keep a sharp eye out! I'm sure you remembered the gorgeous Ribbon Cup we just talked about, so take another look!" Lillian announced as she gestured to the Ribbon Cup. "One very talented so-and-so is going to take that baby home! And it's time for our first battle! And it's May from Petalburg City versus Harley from Slateport City! And now for a moment of some of my favorite words: Let's get busy!" The crowd cheered as May and Harley have each took two Pokéballs out and threw them.
"Munchlax, Glaceon! Take the stage!" May called out. Munchlax and Glaceon emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Come, darlings! Come to papa! Cacturne and Wigglytuff!" Harley called out. His Cacturne came out first, and came next is a Wigglytuff, but only without a bubbly personality.
"Harley has a Wigglytuff?" Sora asked.
"An aggressive one by the looks of it," Wes said.
"Not a Wigglytuff I wanna meet in a dark alley," Elaine said.
"But when did May evolve her Eevee?" Michael asked.
"Last night. May figured she could she'd Harley a surprise for today, but isn't the only one who can dish out the surprises," Brendan said.
"Hold on, toots. Before you know it, you'll be crying like a baby," Harley said.
"The only one here who will be crying here is going to be you, Harley," May said.
"Oh, so not scared," Harley said.
"Munchlax! Use Power-Up Punch! Glaceon! Use Quick Attack!" May ordered. Munchlax and Glaceon ran toward their opponents with their chosen attacks.
"Time for rough stuff, Wigglytuff!" Harley said. Wigglytuff extends its body, making Glaceon and Munchlax's attacks bounce off.
"That Wigglytuff! A perfect physique! Perfect for warding off the strongest attacks!" Lillian announced as a small sum of May's points went down.
"Looks like Harley is making it harder for May by sending out that Wigglytuff against her," Chase said.
"I agree. Wigglytuff's ability to inflate its body isn't an easy thing to do," Arthur said.
"Well, Harley isn't screwing around, that's for sure. He made it clear as crystal he wants to end this fast," Riku said.
"It seems Wigglytuff is mounting the perfect defense! Is possible for May and her Pokémon to fight it in?" Lillian asked.
"How can find a way out that one?" Drew asked.
"I'm sure she'll find a way," Kairi said.
"It may not be so simple to do so. Wigglytuff being to expand itself can earn big points, but if Harley isn't careful, it'll backfire very quickly," Solidad said.
"Jump, Wigglytuff!" Harley called out. Wigglytuff jumped up.
"Look out!" May exclaimed.
"Don't look now, nerds. Poison Sting, Cacturne!" Harley ordered. Wigglytuff moved out of the way for Cacturne to fire Poison Sting and struck both Munchlax and Glaceon.
"They're prime! Cacturne attacks while everyone's eyes were on Wigglytuff! And amazing turn of teamwork!" Lillian announced.
"Cacturne! Needle Arm!" Harley ordered. Cacturne rushes at Munchlax and Glaceon.
"Glaceon! Ice Beam! Munchlax! Power-Up Punch!" May ordered. Glaceon fired Ice Beam as Munchlax lands a Power-Up Punch onto Cacturne. Due to his weakness against Ice and Fighting-type attacks, Cacturne had been instantly knocked out, much to Harley's dismay.
"Wow! Power-Up Punch and Ice Beam do so well to inflict some damage on Cacturne, displaying their own teamwork!" Lillian announced.
"My baby!" Harley gasped.
"Well, that's that! Cacturne's out and Harley has lost a lot of points!" Lillian announced as Harley loses almost half of his points.
"Great work, you two!" May said. Munchlax and Glaceon beamed.
"Yes! May got the lead," Brendan said.
"I hope May can stay in there until the time runs out," Ash said.
"Knowing Harley, it's not gonna be easy," Naminé said.
"May will definitely take him down," Xion said.
"Yeah, but that Wigglytuff is coming in fast," Michael said. May sees Wigglytuff coming down.
"Body Press!" Harley ordered. Wigglytuff comes down like a comet.
"Dodge it!" May called out. Munchlax and Glaceon dodges Wigglytuff's attack. "Reel them in!" Wigglytuff uses its ears to grab them both and pull them in before throwing them. "No!"
"Wicked, Wigglytuff. Double Slap! Go!" Harley ordered. Wigglytuff gave them both Double Slap with its ears.
"What a move! With those long ears, Wigglytuff was saved for the perfect Double Slap!" Lillian announced. May loses a lot of points. Wigglytuff gave Glaceon and Munchlax a toss back to the ground.
"No! Are you okay?" May asked.
"So, dollface. Seems like a great time to cry," Harley said.
"Not for you, green dork! Munchlax! Use Solar Beam! Glaceon! Use Ice Beam!" May ordered. Munchlax and Glaceon fired their beam attacks at the Balloon Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Harley called out. Wigglytuff floats out of the way of Solar Beam and Ice Beam.
"I don't think so! Bring Wigglytuff down!" May called out. They kept firing at Wigglytuff, but they kept on missing.
"All those missed attacks are going to cost May an airplane load of points!" Lillian announced as May's loses more of her points. "Inhaling and exhaling allows Wigglytuff to control its moves perfectly! But what else would you expect from a balloon Pokémon?"
"A balloon Pokémon? That's it! Use Solar Beam and Ice Beam again, but combine them in midair!" May ordered. Munchlax and Glaceon does exactly that when they fired their attacks behind Wigglytuff, making it lose control. Harley gasped when he saw his strategy has sprung a spring.
"Oh, crap!" Harley gasped.
"Uh-oh! Wigglytuff's caught in the blast! Wigglytuff may be big, but that mostly comes from air! And May's strategy has taken full advantage of that!" Lillian announced.
"Okay, Power-Up Punch combination!" May ordered. Munchlax rode on Glaceon as he ran. The Big Eater Pokémon jumped off and lands a powerful punch on Wigglytuff's face.
"Wigglytuff!" Harley gasped.
"And there's a combination! That double Power-Up Punch a doubly clean hit!" Lillian announced as Wigglytuff hits the ground, beaten. "And Wigglytuff's out! May wins it, so she'll be moving on to the next battle after a grueling Contest battle!" May smiled as Munchlax and Glaceon went up to May.
"Alright! You two were totally amazing! I owe it all to you," May said. Harley was speechless.
"She won?" Harley asked in disbelief. He growled in anger. "I hate her so freaking much!"
"What an awesome win!" Brendan said, praising his girlfriend.
After the second battle, Drew has sent out his Roselia and Masquerain against a Medicham and a Loudred with Petal Dance and Silver Wind, earning a double knockout.
"Medicham and Loudred are out! And that stunning attack combination Drew moves on to the next battle!" Lillian announced.
It was Mary Jane's turn as she sent out Clefable and Kangaskhan against a Weepinbell and a Porygon2.
"Hyper Beam!" Mary Jane ordered. Kangaskhan fired a Hyper Beam, knocking both opponents out.
"Weepinbell and Porygon2 have been defeated, so Mary Jane will be moving on!" Lillian announced.
It was now Kairi's turn, so she sent out Mismagius and Miltank against an Exeggutor and a Pelipper.
"Mismagius! Shadow Ball! Miltank! Rollout!" Kairi ordered. Mismagius unleashed a Shadow Ball onto Exeggutor and Miltank plows into Pelipper with Rollout.
"Exeggutor and Pelipper have been beaten, allowing Kairi to move on!" Lillian announced.
"That was great, you two," Kairi said.
And now, it was Solidad's turn. She sent out her Lapras and Slowbro against a Zangoose and a Girafarig. By that time, Zangoose and Girafarig were frozen solid.
"Alright, Slowbro! Use Hyper Beam!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro jumped over Lapras and fired Hyper Beam, knocking both Zangoose and Girafarig out.
"Zangoose and Girafarig are out! Finishing the battle with a powerful attack, it's Solidad who will be moving on!" Lillian announced. The crowd cheered. "And now, we down to eight Coordinators, and here they all are!" The screen shows May against Drew again. "Now, the first battle for the eight remaining Coordinators is about to begin! It's May against Drew!" Lilian announced. The crowd cheers hard as the battle between the two rivals.
"This is it. After making it this far, I can't afford to lose this. I'm going to give it everything that I've got in this," May said in her thoughts.
"You only won against me in our battle in the Hoenn Grand Festival because I got careless. I'm not going to make the same mistake twice," Drew said in his thoughts. "And I have the perfect two Pokémon for this occasion." He took out his two Pokéballs as did May.
"Combusken, Squirtle! Take the stage!" May shouted as both Pokémon made their entrance on the stage.
"Flygon and Absol! Let's go!" Drew shouted as his two Pokémon had come on out to battle.
"Squirtle! Rapid Spin!" May ordered. Squirtle spins around and heads right towards Drew's Pokémon.
"And Squirtle takes off like a tornado!" Lillian announced.
"Now, Flygon! Sandstorm!" Drew ordered. Flygon sends out a sand tornado and heads right towards Squirtle.
"No, you don't. Do a combination, Mega Kick, Combusken!" May ordered. Combusken hops on Squirtle's shell and heads right towards Flygon.
"That enormous jump came from bouncing off of Squirtle's huge spin! Look out, Flygon!" Lillian announced. Combusken continues to go for Flygon to land a kick.
"Absol! Use Flash!" Drew ordered. Absol jumps into Flygon's Sandstorm and uses Flash to blind the Young Fowl Pokémon.
"Absol jumps into Sandstorm while using Flash! Looks like Combusken is stuck tight!" Lillian announced.
"Absol! Use Iron Tail!" Drew ordered. Absol struck Combusken with its tail.
"Combusken!" May gasped.
"That Iron Tail makes a direct hit! I think this is as much a ballet as it is a battle!" Lillian announced.
"I'm not done yet! Combusken! Sky Uppercut! Squirtle! Water Gun go!" May ordered. Combusken comes at his opponents as Squirtle fires Water Gun right at the opposing Pokémon as well. Combusken jumps as she prepares to launch Sky Uppercut as the Water behind him makes it look like he's behind a beautiful river.
"Beautiful! With a Water Gun behind it, Combusken performs a powerful Sky Uppercut!" Lillian announced. Drew manages to lose a little bit of his points.
"Flygon! Dodge it! Absol! Razor Wind!" Drew called out. Combusken was getting closer to Flygon, but the Mystic Pokémon avoided Combusken and Absol unleashes Razor Wind and lands a hit onto Combusken and lands onto Squirtle as well. Combusken and Squirtle took a pretty bad hit as May loses some points as well.
"That Absol is strong," Ash said.
"And that Razor Wind did a real number on those two," Chase said.
"Come on, May. I know you can do it again! I have faith in you!" Brendan said in his thoughts. She could somehow hear Brendan's voice and she imagined him with her. Flygon takes the sky once again.
"Flygon! Flamethrower!" Drew ordered. Flygon fires Flamethrower right towards May's two Pokémon. May wasn't close to calling it quits.
"Fire Spin! Go!" May ordered. Combusken fires Fire Spin to block Flamethrower, but fails as it results in an explosion. Combusken and Flygon both took a bad hit.
"And both sides respond with great moves! This battle is like a gigantic seesaw!" Lilian announced.
"Such power and precision! Unbelievable!" Rumiko said.
"I agree! I couldn't look away if I tried!" Contesta said.
"Yes! Remarkable!" Suziko added.
"They're giving everything they have and not one is considering defeat an option!" Rumiko said.
"It's great how both sides' Pokémon are truly on fire!" Vivian said.
"And it's an inspiration to Coordinators everywhere!" Rumiko said.
"Drew's fast. He's even faster than last time! I didn't come here to praise him; I came here to beat him again!" May said in her thoughts.
"Flygon, Absol! Dragon Formation!" Drew called out. This confuses May since she never heard of that. Flygon lands behind Absol.
"What did he say?" Ventus asked.
"Some kind of formation?" Elaine asked.
"Looks like we're about to find out," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Absol! Razor Wind!" Drew ordered. Absol's horn glows and unleashes it right at Combusken and Squirtle. "Flygon! Dragon Breath, now!" Flygon fires Dragon Breath and it combines with Absol's Razor Wind.
"Now that's an awesome combination of beauty and strength! I think I'm going to rename that move Dragon Razor Wind!" Lillian announced.
"Dodge it, quick!" May called out as Combusken and Squirtle ran to avoid the Dragon Breath and Razor Wind combo. But it struck them both hard. May loses some points for it.
"That combination was so overwhelming May's Pokémon simply had nowhere to go! I think we're all in a bit of a shock after that tour de force!" Lillian announced. Kairi and Angel were watching closely in the back.
"Come on, May. I know you can do it," Kairi said in her thoughts.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Looks like Drew isn't playing 'Mr. Nice Guy' with her anymore. After she beaten the pants off him during the Hoenn Grand Festival, I don't blame him. One defeat is too many," Harley said.
"Let's finish this up with Steel Wing, Flygon, and Iron Tail, Absol! Go!" Drew ordered. Flygon and Absol prepared Iron Tail and Steel Wing and headed towards the two opposing Pokémon, determined to finish this up once and for all.
"May! Counter that!" Brendan shouted, not caring who heard him.
"I know Drew's Pokémon's attacks look super-polished, but we got some pretty good combinations up our sleeves, too!" May said in her thoughts.
"This is it," Drew said in his thoughts.
"Alright, Combusken! Fire Spin, now! Squirtle! Use Water Gun!" May ordered. Combusken and Squirtle fired Fire Spin and Water Gun and it combined into a fusion of fire and water. Drew was caught completely off guard.
"Those Fire Spin and Water Gun attacks have been transformed into a magnificent water and fire whirlwind!" Lillian announced. Flygon and Absol were both caught in the whirlwind and took pretty bad damage from the two elements mixing. Drew lost a huge chuck of points once the fire and water whirlwind had subsided.
"Wait, I know that combo! I remember Tucker pulled that stunt on me before," Sora said, having the group all look at him. "What?"
"How in the world did she pull that off?" Trace asked.
"Well, I might have mentioned it to May when we saw her on our way to Petalburg City. Tucker used that combo on me when I battled him for the Tactics Symbol. So May became fascinated with it, so she thought she'd wait until she had a Water-type Pokémon to pull that off, but she never had the chance to test it out," Sora explained.
"Now that's awesome!" Chase said.
"And beautiful," Elaine added. "Opposing energies melded together and formed a brand new result!"
"May is full of surprises, isn't she?" Trace asked.
"Yeah, and there are more coming her way," Sora said.
"What can you expect? She's taking everything she's learning so far and putting it to very good use," Riku said.
"Now, that I would like to see," Arthur said.
"She never battled this hard with me! Is she too good to pull off those combinations with me?! I'll ring her neck of hers with that bandana!" Harley yelled.
"That kinda sounds like you're threatening to commit murder," a familiar female voice spoke.
"Yeah? And what's it to yo-" Harley froze when he saw Officer Jenny was standing behind him. "Officer Jenny. Hello." He sheepishly grins.
"I'm going to forget that you just made that threat if you would just lower your voice," Officer Jenny glared coldly at him and prepared a pair of handcuffs for him. Harley chuckles nervously, obviously afraid of going to prison.
"I don't ever remember seeing this kind of fierce back and forth battling before! And now we passed the four minute mark!" Lillian announced.
"Absol! Flash!" Drew ordered.
"Rapid Spin, Squirtle!" May ordered. Absol got ready to use Flash as Squirtle jumps and withdraws into his shell. May and Combusken shields their eyes as Squirtle spins around.
"That Rapid Spin's protecting Squirtle from Absol's Flash!" Lillian announced.
"Quick, Flygon! Steel Wing!" Drew ordered. Flygon comes down with Steel Wing to strike Squirtle. Flygon sends Squirtle straight up into the air instead. "What the?!"
"Alright!" May said with glee.
"Looks like Squirtle's come out on top!" Sora said.
"Use Ice Beam!" May ordered.
"Absol! Use Razor Wind!" Drew ordered.
"Combusken! Use Fire Spin!" May ordered. Absol fires Razor Wind, but Combusken blocks with Fire Spin, resulting in an explosion. Ice Beam hits its mark and Flygon, being weak against Ice-type moves, takes a pretty bad hit. Drew's points suffer greatly for it. "Ice Beam, one more time!" Squirtle gets close to Flygon and lands an Ice Beam into its face. Flygon had been taken down and out of steam.
"Wow! Flygon is out cold!" Lillian announced.
"Alright!" May cheered.
"Absol! Iron Tail! Go!" Drew ordered. Absol ran towards the Tiny Turtle Pokémon and landed a brutal Iron Tail onto Squirtle and Squirtle had been taken down.
"Looks like Squirtle's out cold, too! Folks, we've now got a one-on-one!" Lillian announced. Drew and May called back their fallen Pokémon.
"Squirtle, you were so great," May said kindly.
"Thanks Flygon. You did awesome," Drew said.
"Okay, ladies and gentlemen! Here's your two minute warning!" Lillian announced.
"Combusken! Mega Kick!" May ordered. Combusken comes to land a kick onto Absol.
"Iron Tail!" Drew ordered. Absol comes towards Combusken to land an Iron Tail onto Combusken. Two have collided and each has landed a hit on the other. "Razor Wind!" Absol fires Razor Wind right at Combusken, hoping to finish it, but Combusken had taken a pretty bad hit.
"And with astounding speed, Absol fires off multiple hits! With both Iron Tail and Razor Wind, Combusken is bound to be in some trouble!" Lillian announced.
"Come on, Combusken! use Fire Spin!" May ordered. Combusken fires Fire Spin at Absol once again.
"Water Pulse! Go!" Drew forms a ball of water and sends it towards Combusken. Combusken takes a pretty bad hit from that Water Pulse.
"Oh no!" May gasped.
"That Water Pulse is having a huge effect in Combusken! And Combusken's Fire Spin comes up short!" Lillian announced. May loses some points in the process, but Combusken's body began to give off a red aura.
"Finish this up, Absol! Use Razor Wind now!" Drew ordered.
"Combusken! Use Fire Blast!" May ordered. Combusken fires a huge Fire Blast attack and heads towards Absol. Absol got hit badly, but Absol is still standing.
"Wow! Combusken must have learned that new move and comes out as Fire Blast. Despite how powerful it is, Absol is still standing!" Lillian announced. "At the moment Drew remains in the lead, but will May be able to catch up to win this?"
"May has become so much stronger than she was at the Hoenn Grand Festival. It's no wonder she came in second. But I'm not going to back down from this. Not now. Not ever," Drew said in his thoughts.
"As much as I enjoyed this battle, Drew, but this match is going to end, and it's going to be right here, right now," May said in her thoughts. She then spoke out loud, "Combusken! Jump and use another Fire Blast!" Combusken jumps and fires a powerful Fire Blast and heads towards Absol.
"What an overwhelming sight! That Fire Blast is coming down faster and faster!" Lillian announced.
"Absol! Use Flash!' Drew ordered.
"Combusken! Go!" May called out.
Absol begins with Flash, but Combusken comes in with a roll and lands a kick onto Absol.
"It's just like Rapid Spin! Combusken keeps spinning and dodging that Flash, and has gotten down into Absol's face!" Lillian announced.
"Now, let's use Fire Blast!" May ordered. Combusken fires Fire Blast and it was pretty powerful right into Absol.
"No time to take a breath! A beautiful Fire Blast causing straight out of a spin! And it looks like it's Absol's turn to take the hit, and that's what happened!" Lillian announced. Absol extinguished the flames while surrounded by red sparkles in the air. "What a turnaround! Absol's extinguished all of Combusken's flames while taking the most amazing sparkly glow! Quite a display!" May lost a little bit of points. The clock is now down to one minute.
"Absol! use Razor Wind!" Drew ordered. Absol fires another Razor Wind right at Combusken.
"Dodge it, now!" May called out. Combuekn took a bad hit from Absol's Razor Wind. Combusken rolls on the battlefield.
"A perfect Razor Wind hit! And with only less than a minute left on the clock!" Lillian announced. Kairi watches anxiously as she wishes for the best from both May and Drew.
"Water Pulse! Go!" Drew ordered. Absol uses Water Pulse to strike at Combusken with hopes of finishing off May. It turns into a huge tidal wave.
"Fire Blast!" May ordered. Combusken fires Fire Blast to block Water Pulse, but the water attack cancels out Combusken's Fire Blast. Combusken took a pretty bad hit.
"A huge hit mid-attack! I guess that Water Pulse means the end of-" Lilian was cut off when Combusken is seen still standing. "Wait a minute! I don't believe it! Combusken is still standing!"
"It's over, May! Quick! Use Iron Tail!" Drew ordered. Absol jumped to use Iron Tail to finish off Combusken. May only grinned.
"You're right, Drew. It is over. And here's the move that's going to end it. Sky Uppercut!" May ordered. Combusken comes running towards Absol with her claw dragging on the ground and sparks coming from it. Drew was shocked to hear May make that statement. Drew lost a little bit of points. Combusken lands a powerful uppercut onto Absol and it costs a little bit of Drew's points. The clock runs out.
"Time's Up! Now the judges will decide who put on a more beautiful and effective battle! Will it be Drew or is it going to be May?" Lillian asked. The judges all saw it was May who has a little bit more than Drew does. "It's a squeaker for sure, but the winner is May, Squirtle, and Combusken! May will be moving on in the next battle!" The crowd cheers for May as she has won it.
"It's that kind of neck-and-neck battling that makes my hair stand on edge," Contesta said.
"Oh, yes. Remarkable," Suziko said.
"Watching every inch of that battle has made me feel nostalgic for my days as a Coordinator. It felt like those good old days for me," Rumiko said.
"I've been watching these two ever since their Hoenn days, and I'm feeling like a proud mom," Vivan said.
"Let's move on to our next battle while we're still pumped up!" Lillian announced.
"Combusken, you were amazing. I knew you could do it," May said as Drew called back Absol and he smiled.
"You and Flygon were awesome. You earned yourselves a good rest," Drew said. He approached and he reached out his hand. "Well, looks like you beat me again. Congratulations on your victory."
"Drew, I," May could only say.
"Don't say anymore. You beat me twice, so I can say, you're a lot stronger than you were back at the Hoenn Grand Festival, and you kept surprsing me. But, Solidad will be difficult to beat when you end up being her opponent. So, you may not be able to beat her like you did me and Harley," Drew said.
"I'll do my best," May said.
It was now Kairi and Mary Jane against each other now.
"Looks like I finally get my piece of you, girl. I haven't forgotten what you did to me back in the Porta Vista Contest. You left a really bad taste in my mouth, and I'm gonna get you back for it," Mary Jane said.
"Save it for the battlefield, MJ. Because that's where it belongs," Kairi said.
"Now, we can have our next battle! And that battle will be Kairi from Pallet Town, and Mary Jane from Vermillion City! Let's see if these two girls can give us quite a show like May and Drew did in our last battle!" Lillian announced. Kairi and Mary Jane each took out two Pokéballs and threw them.
"Kangaskhan, Rapidash! I choose you!" Mary Jane called out.
"Altaria, Claydol! Go!" Kairi called out.
All four Pokémon came out to battle one another.
"I had a feeling she was gonna use that Kangaskhan against Kairi again," Aqua said.
"So did I, and since Kairi is using an Altaria, it's gonna be harder for her since Dragon-type moves has zero effect on Fairy-types," Terra said.
"Kangaskhan! Hyper Beam! Rapidash! Psybeam!" Mary Jane ordered. Both Pokémon fired their attacks at their chosen targets.
"Claydol! Use Psychic to block it!" Kairi ordered. Claydol uses Psychic to block Kangaskhan and Rapidash's attacks with a Psychic. This cuts into Mary Jane's points.
"That failed attempt has cost Mary Jane some of her points; especially when Psychic is used to block both at once!" Lillian announced.
"Altaria's Dragon-type moves won't affect Rapidash since she's a Fairy-type, so here's a move that will. Altaria! Use Round!" Altaria sings a song, hitting both Kangaskhan and Rapidash on the mark. "Claydol! Earthquake!" Claydol moved upwards and slammed on the battlefield hard, making the stadium shake.
"Things are really shaking with Claydol's Earthquake!" Lillian announced.
"I'll say things are shaking. Kairi's Claydol knows how to bring down the house," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"And she's gonna rock her world!" Karen said.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"Aerial Ace on Rapidash!" Kairi ordered. Altaria flew right at Rapidash with Aerial Ace.
"I don't think so! Rapidash! Megahorn!" Mary Jane ordered. The Unique Horse Pokémon charges right at Claydol, dealing some heavy damage. This cuts into Kairi's points. "Now, use Power-Up Punch!" Kangaskhan lands a Power-Up Punch onto Claydol, making Kairi lose more of her points.
"Claydol! Hyper Beam! Altaria! Moonblast!" Kairi ordered. Both Pokémon unleashed Hyper Beam and Moonblast, making it a perfect combination, turning it into a combination. With no time to dodge, Kangaskhan and Rapidash have taken some heavy damage, but Rapidash had been knocked out.
"It looks like that Hyper Beam and Moonblast combo has done the trick! And Rapidash is out of the match!" Lillian announced as Mary Jane has lost a lot of points.
"Look at that! Fairy-type lost to a Dragon-type," Ventus said.
"That's because she used a move that can actually hurt it. And she had Clydol use Hyper Beam for an extra kick," Wes said.
"And with Rapidash down, Kairi is free to use all the Dragon-type moves she wants to," Michael said.
"That's right, but I still wouldn't count out Kangaskhan, because she isn't finished yet," Wes said.
"Why you little brat! You're not gonna get away with that one! Mega Punch!" Mary Jane ordered. Kangaskhan rushes at the two with a Mega Punch.
"Altaria! Protect Claydol! Use Dragon Pulse!" Kairi ordered. Altaria unleashes a Dragon Pulse, hitting Kangaskhan.
"It doesn't look like Altaria was gonna let Kangaskhan anywhere near Claydol since it attack right away since using Hyper Beam!" Lillian announced.
"Use Hyper Beam!" Mary Jane ordered.
"Psychic!" Kairi ordered. Kangaskhan fires Hyper Beam and fires it right at Claydol and Altaria. Claydol uses Psychic to block Hyper Beam and curl it into a round ball.
"Claydol uses its Psychic to stop that Hyper Beam cold!" Lillian announced.
"No way!" Mary Jane exclaimed.
"Way! Claydol! Hyper Beam into that Hyper Beam!" Kairi ordered. Claydol fired its own Hyper Beam, colliding with Kangaskhan's Hyper Beam.
"Now, Claydol is adding power into that Hyper Beam with its own Hyper Beam!" Lillian announced.
"What is she trying to pull off?" Ethan asked.
"I don't know, but I think we're about to find out," Ash said.
"Dragon Pulse!" Kairi ordered. Altaria fired a Dragon Pulse, adding into the combined Hyper Beams.
"And now Altaria is adding its Dragon Pulse with those Hyper Beams!" Lillian announced.
"Let it go!" Kairi called out. Claydol uses its psychic powers to reverse the combinations and sends them back at Kangaskhan. The Parent Pokémon was heavy struck by the devastating combo attack, and resulted in a knockout.
"Kangaskhan is down and out! Which means the winner of the match is Kairi!" Lillian announced as the crowd cheered.
"Great job, you two. You were wonderful," Kairi said. Alratia and Claydol both beamed at the compliment.
"I lost to her again! I am so gone!" Mary Jane angrily exclaimed as she storms out.
"Wow! That was amazing!" Yuta said.
"Wonderful," Mirei said.
"What was that all about? I mean, she used Hyper Beam from two different Pokémon, along with a Dragon Pulse from Altaria, so what gives?" Trace asked.
"I think I can answer that question. Hyper Beam is one of the most powerful attacks that a Pokémon can learn, and Kairi knew it. She figured she would combine one kind of move times two for her advantage, and she added another powerful move like Dragon Pulse, making it even more powerful than it would have been, and the combo with Hyper Beam and Dragon Pulse is powerful enough," Riku said.
Next, Solidad had won her match using a Pidgeot and a Butterfree against an Obstagoon and a Tangrowth. May won her battle, using her Poliwhirl and Staryu against a Gallade and a Kadabra. This victory has earned May her spot in the final round.
"Now that May has earned her spot in the final round, we come down to the semifinal battle! We have Kairi from Pallet Town, and Solidad from Pewter City! Only one of these two will be advancing to the final match, let's get busy!" Lillian announced as the clock started to run. Kairi and Solidad have each taken out two Pokéballs and threw them.
"Pidgeot, Slowbro! Go!" Solidad called out.
"Togekiss, Miltank! Go!" Kairi called out.
All four Pokémon came out to battle against each other.
"Slowbro! Begin with Water Gun! Pidgeot! Aerial Ace!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro fired Water Gun while Pidgeot flew right at Togekiss with Aerial Ace.
"Togekiss! You use Aerial Ace, too! Miltank! Dodge it!" Kairi called out. Togekiss flew right at Pidgeot and collides with his own Aerial Ace as Miltank tried to dodge, but Slowbro's Water Gun has taken a hit on the Milk Cow Pokémon. Solidad and Kairi both lose of their points. Kairi has lost a little bit more than Solidad did.
"Even though it's called a Slowbro, that Water Gun came too fast for Miltank to dodge it in time!" Lillian announced.
"Kairi sure walked into that one, didn't she?" Ventus asked.
"She did. Solidad isn't going to be an easy opponent to beat, that's for sure. And it looks like Kairi just found that out the hard way," Wes said.
"Come on, Kairi. We know you can do this," Yuta said as he held his wife's hand.
"Hyper Beam!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro fired Hyper Beam, hitting Miltank and Togekiss.
"Solidad is making sure the match is staying in her favor! It looks like it'll be over before you know it!" Lillian announced.
"Okay, Rollout!" Kairi ordered. Miltank curls into a ball and rolls right at Pidgeot.
"Double Team!" Solidad ordered. Pidgeot has made several copies of itself.
"Uh-oh! Kairi's Miltank has missed her mark, and that's going to cause Kairi some points!" Lillian announced.
"Rollout isn't working. And that Double Team is making it harder for me to land a hit. Everything I have is totally useless against her," Kairi said in her thoughts. She then remembered Aerial Ace and Aura Sphere never miss their mark. "Wait, Aerial Ace and Aura Sphere! That's it!" She called out. "Togekiss! Aerial Ace!" Togekiss dashed at Pidgeot and found the original one with ease.
"Togekiss has managed to find the real one with that lightning fast Aerial Ace!" Lillian announced.
"Well done, Kairi. Not many of my opponents have used the flaw against Double Team," Solidad said in her thoughts.
"Aura Sphere!" Kairi ordered. Togekiss fired Aura Sphere and struck Pidgeot hard on the mark.
"Pidgeot sure felt that one! That was a decent hit from that well-polished Aura Sphere!" Lillian announced.
"Aura Sphere again!" Kairi ordered. Togekiss fired another Aura Sphere.
"Feather Dance!" Solidad ordered. Pidgeot spreads its wings and both of them glow white. It then shoots glowing white feathers from them at Togekiss's Aura Sphere, dissipating it.
"A wonderful save from Aura Sphere with a Feather Dance!" Lillian announced.
"Yawn!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro blew a bubble and sends it at Miltank.
"I don't think so! Miltank! Rollout to dodge it!" Kairi ordered. Miltank uses Rollout to avoid Slowbro's Yawn. "You're not gonna get me with Yawn that easily!"
"I can see not. Psychic!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro attempts to use Psychic on Miltank, but she was rolling too fast for the Hermit Crab Pokémon to keep up.
"Miltank is building up speed with that Rollout! Incredible!" Lillian announced.
"Maybe I can use that. Togekiss! Aura Sphere! And Miltank! Roll right into Aura Sphere!" Kairi ordered. Togekiss fired Aura Sphere as Miltank rolls into it. The powered up Aura Sphere lands a heavy hit onto the Bird Pokémon, knocking it out.
"I don't believe what I just witnessed, but Kairi has taken down one of Pidgeot with that Aura Sphere powered up by Miltank's Rollout!" Lillian announced. Solidad has lost more of her points. She calls back her Pidgeot.
"You battled well, Pidgeot. Have yourself a good rest," Solidad said.
"Wow, look at that. Kairi must have taken that play from May's playbook when she battled Harley earlier," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I'll say she has. It was incredible," Mirei said.
"What can you expect from our little girl? The way she raised her Miltank is nothing to laugh at," Yuta said.
"She still has that Slowbro to deal with," Riku said.
"Yeah, we've seen that Slowbro in action, so it won't be easy," Arthur said.
"Yeah, because Slowbro has Hyper Beam, Psychic, and Water Gun to use," Ventus said.
"But she'll win it, won't she?" Ryuko asked.
"Yeah, totally!" Ventus said.
"That's the spirit, you two. Kairi's number one! Isn't that right, Seth?" Yuta asked his son. The baby laughed as he clapped his hands. "Atta boy!" Yuta smiled.
"She's even powerful than Drew described to me. She managed to defeat my Pidgeot with an impressive display, but I am curious to see more of her power," Solidad said in her thoughts.
"Togekiss, Miltank, you're doing, great, but we're not out of the woods yet. We still have that Slowbro to contend with," Kairi said. Togekiss and Miltank nodded in agreement.
"Slowbro! Water Gun!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro fired a Water Gun right at the two Pokémon.
"Dodge it!" Kairi called out. Togekiss took flight as Miktank uses Rollout to dodge. Solidad giggled.
"I don't think so. Psychic!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro prepares to use Psychic, but it uses it on itself instead.
"I don't believe it! Slowbro is using Psychic on itself instead of Miltank!" Lillian announced. Slowbro began to spin around on its shell.
"That can't be good. Slowbro is using Psychic on itself, and that's gotta be a lot of points," Naminé said. Slowbro spins around and lands a heavy blow on the Milk Cow Pokémon.
"And that hurts Miltank in a big way!" Lillian announced.
"Hyper Beam!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro fired Hyper Beam, hitting Miltank, knocking her out.
"Miltank has been taken out, so it's now Slowbro versus Togekiss! And we are now down to two minutes on the clock!" Lillian announced. Kairi calls back Miltank and she smiled.
"You battled hard, Miltank. You've earned a good rest," Kairi said.
"This is it. The match that'll decide who's going to earn the bronze," Roxas said.
"Kairi has made it this far, so she cannot afford to lose this match," Xion said.
"Aerial Ace!" Kairi ordered. Togekiss flew right at Slowbro and lands a hit. That cuts into Solidad's points.
"Togekiss lands a brutal blow with Aerial Ace!" Lillian announced.
"Use Fairy Wind!" Kairi ordered. Togekiss flapped his wings and unleashed a powerful gust from Fairy Wind.
"Togekiss follows up with a powerful burst of Fairy Wind! What can you expect from a Fairy-type Pokémon?" Lillian asked.
"Slowbro! Psychic!" Solidad ordered. Slowbro uses Psychic to push away the wind. "Hyper Beam!" Slowbro fired Hyper Beam at the Jubilee Pokémon.
"Aura Sphere!" Kairi ordered.
Both Pokémon launched their attacks and collide with one another. An explosion occurred between the both of them, dealing some heavy damage to each other and to Kairi and Solidad's points.
"That was a real clash of power from these two, and there's one more minute to go!" Lillian announced.
"Aerial Ace!" Kairi ordered. Togekiss lands a hit with an Aerial Ace, cutting into more of Solidad's points.
"Togekiss lands another Aerial Ace onto Slowbro!" Lillian announced.
"Air Slash!" Kairi ordered. Togekiss unleashed an Air Slash, landing another hit onto Slowbro. The Hermit Crab Pokémon have been knocked out.
"With less than a minute to spare, it turns out Kairi has earned her place in the final battle against May!" Lillian announced as the crowd cheered. Kairi pets Togekiss, feeling proud of him.
"You were amazing, Togekiss. Thank you," Kairi said.
"Toge," Togekiss beamed. Solidad and Slowbro approached Kairi.
"Congratulations, Kairi. You have definitely earned your reputation as a Top Coordinator," Solidad said.
"You're very nice, Solidad. Thank you," Kairi said.
"No, thank you for giving me an enjoyable battle. I have never enjoyed a battle like this for a long time. All I request is that you and May give it everything you have," Solidad said.
"May and I will do everything we can to keep that promise," Kairi said.
"It looks like history repeats itself after all," Karen said.
"It does?" Ryuko asked.
"Yeah, Ryuko. May and Kairi faced off in the final round in the Hoenn Grand Festival, much like May faced Harley and Drew before that," Ventus said.
"Pikachu," Sparky said.
"Well, May has come a long way ever since she started her journey," Ethan said.
"I agree. May didn't have a clue about what she wanted to do in her life, and she blossomed in more ways than any of us could imagine," Kris said.
"How right you are. May has grown even more confident because of all of you. You touched her heart the same way she touched yours. And I couldn't be even prouder, so how about we cheer them both on?" Rei suggested.
"Yeah!" Rei's apprentices agreed.
After the battle with Solidad, Kairi and May stood before each other again.
"It looks like we've made it to the final round again," May said.
"It seems so," Kairi agreed.
"Just so you know, it won't be the same as the last time, Kairi," May said.
"No. It won't be. Just give me everything you've got like the last time," Kairi said.
"Count on it, Kairi," May said.
Kairi and May shook hands, sealing the deal.
"Ladies and gentlemen, what we are seeing is a display of good sportsmanship! Let us see which one of these two will be bringing home the beautiful Ribbon Cup! Will it be May, the Princess of Hoenn, or Kairi, the Princess of Kanto? Let us see and find out!" Lillian announced as the clock began to run. Kairi took out her Pokéball and threw it. May did the same thing. The clock began to run.
"Angel, Togekiss! Go!" Kairi called out. Angel entered the battlefield.
"Combusken, Glaceon! Take the stage!" May called out. Both of May's chosen Pokémon have entered the battlefield, ready to battle.
"Somehow, I knew they were gonna use their partners for the final round, just like the last time," Sora said.
"So did I, Sora. Both of our girlfriends are gonna start battling it out, and I'm getting the chills watching it again," Brendan said.
"So am I," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Angel! Swift! Togekiss! Fairy Wind!" Kairi ordered. Angel and Togekiss unleashed their chosen attacks at their opponents.
"Glaceon! Icy Wind! Combusken! Fire Spin!" May ordered. Glaceon blew Icy Wind, blowing away Swift and Fairy Wind. Combusken unleashed Fire Spin, hitting both Angel and Togekiss.
"May's Glaceon and Combusken gave a big push against Kairi's Eevee and Togekiss!" Lillian announced.
"Glaceon! Use Quick Attack on Angel!" May ordered. Glaceon dashed at Angel and land a hit. This cuts into Kairi's points.
"Glaceon lands a beautiful hit with a lightning fast Quick Attack!" Lillian announced.
"Iron Tail!" Kairi ordered. Angel swings her tail and lands a hit onto the Fresh Snow Pokémon. "Togekiss! Aerial Ace on Combusken!" Togekiss dashed at the Young Fowl Pokémon.
"Combusken! Sky Uppedcut!" May ordered.
Both Pokémon charge at each other and they each landed a hit on one another. Kairi and May loses a small sum of points.
"Kairi and May have lost a small sum of points since Combusken and Togekiss have collided with each other!" Lillian announced.
"Fire Blast!" May ordered. Combusken fired a Fire Blast, hitting Togekiss, making Kairi lose more of her points. "That was awesome, Combusken!"
"Combusken!" Combusken said.
"May's Combusken is really putting on the heat on Togekiss," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Question is, how is Kairi gonna respond?" Naminé asked.
"Togekiss! Air Slash!" Kairi ordered. Togekiss fired Air Slash, hitting Combusken on the mark. It cuts into May's points.
"Like with Drew earlier, May and Kairi are giving us all a seesaw of strength! They're really giving it to each other!" Lillian announced.
"These two have come a long way since Hoenn. These girls have truly blossomed," Vivian said.
"That was awesome, Kairi," May said.
"Same with you, May. You and your Pokémon are so much stronger than you were at the Hoenn Grand Festival. Let's make this last while it can," Kairi said.
"Sure thing," May said.
"Angel! Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered.
"Glaceon! Use Quick Attack, too!" May ordered.
Both Angel and Glaceon ran toward each other and they collide with one another.
"Wow! I never thought I would see an Eevee being able to stand up against one of its evolved forms with such ferocity! I am at awe with what I am witnessing!" Lillian announced.
"Use Ice Beam!" May ordered.
"Headbutt! Hurry!" Kairi ordered. Angel dashed at Glaceon and lands a Headbutt, hitting the Ice-type Eeveelution. Glaceon then flinched from Angel's Headbutt.
"That was a clean hit," Ash said.
"How come Glaceon didn't attack just now?" Ryuko asked.
"It was because of Angel's Headbutt. Sometimes, when a Pokémon lands a hit with a Headbutt, it may cause an opponent to flinch," Leaf said.
"Okay, Angel! Iron Tail!" Kairi ordered. Angel swings her tail, hitting Glaceon, dealing some heavy damage due to his weakness to Steel-type attacks.
"Eevee causes Glaceon to flinch from that Headbutt, plus a super-effective hit with that Iron Tail!" Lillian announced.
"Combusken! Use Mega Kick on Angel!" May ordered. Combusken moved in to deliver a Mega Kick to Angel.
"Use Quick Attack to dodge!" Kairi called out. Angel attempts to dodge, but Combusken came too fast for Angel to dodge.
"Combusken prevents a dodge and lands a successful hit with that Mega Kick!" Lillian announced.
"Combusken! Fire Spin!" May ordered. Combusken unleashes a Fire Spin, sending it right at Angel and Togekiss, hitting them both. "Glaceon! Use Ice Beam!" Glaceon fired Ice Beam, hitting them both.
"Just when things were warming up, curiosity of Combusken's Fire Spin, but Glaceon cools things down with an Ice Beam! Not too often to see fire and ice work together like this!" Lillian announced.
"That was awesome, May. Fire and ice aren't normally compatible with each other, but you're definitely making it work," Kairi said.
"Well, I learned that anything is possible, so you gotta believe in the impossible," May said.
"We taught you well," Kairi said.
"Glaceon! Ice Beam again!" May ordered.
"Togekiss! Use Aura Sphere!" Kairi ordered.
Both Pokémon fired their chosen attacks at one another. The collision caused an explosion between the two, resulting in a double knockout.
"Togekiss and Glaceon are not able to keep going, so it's Combusken vs Eevee!" Lillian announced. Angel and Combusken looked right at each other.
"Just like the last time, huh?" - Angel subtitle.
"Sure is. You're not gonna take me down easily like the last time, Angel." - Combusken subtitle.
"Trust me, battling against you the last time was not a walk in the park for me. So, I'm expecting you to give me everything you got." - Angel subtitle.
"Be careful with what you ask for, otherwise you'll regret it." - Combusken subtitle.
"Angel! Swift!" Kairi ordered.
"Combusken! Use Fire Spin!" May ordered.
Angel and Combusken fired their chosen attacks at each other and they collide with each other. They put everything they have into their attacks.
"Look at this! Eevee and Combusken are trying to size each other up with Swift and Fire Spin! It's anyone's who's going to overpower who!" Lillian announced.
"Wow, look at that. Angel and Combusken are giving it everything they have," Elaine said.
"It's epic," Chase said at awe.
"Can they keep it up?" Trace asked.
Angel manages to overpower Combusken's Fire Spin. The Young Fowl Pokémon was hit hard by Swift.
"And it's Eevee who overpowers Combusken!" Lillian announced.
"Use Headbutt!" Kairi ordered. Angel ran at Combusken and headbutts Combusken.
"Two minutes left, and Combusken has taken a beating of a lifetime! It doesn't look like Combusken is going to last any longer!" Lillian announced. Combusken then gave out a loud shriek before she started to glow very brightly. Everyone watching gasped.
"Why is Combusken glowing like that?" Ryuko asked.
"Combusken's evolving!" Ventus said.
"Pika!" Sparky said.
Combusken has become a Blaziken right before everyone's eyes, much to everyone's amazement, especially May.
"What an unexpected turn of events! May's Combusken has just evolved into a Blaziken!" Lillian announced.
"You're a Blaziken," May said at awe.
"Blaziken," the newly evolved Blaziken said.
"And since you evolved, that means you learned a new move after evolving. Blaze Kick!" May ordered. Blaziken came in with a Blaze Kick.
"Blaziken is moving in with a sizzling Blaze Kick!" Lillian announced.
"Dodge it!" Kairi called out. Angel tried to dodge, but Blaziken lands a successful kick with Blaze Kick.
"Blaziken came too fast for Eevee to dodge with that Blaze Kick!" Lillian announced.
"I was not expecting to witness an evolution, but this battle is growing more enjoyable each time I'm watching," Contesta said.
"Remarkable! Very remarkable!" Suziko said.
"Kairi and May's flames are burning with such intensity and passion. I can't take my eyes off," Rumiko said.
"It's the same two Pokémon, but a brand new twist!" Vivian said.
"Blaze Kick again!" May ordered.
"Dodge it with Quick Attack!" Kairi ordered. Angel managed to dodge, making Blaziken miss. "Headbutt!" Angel lands a Headbutt on the Blaze Pokémon.
"Eevee lands a Headbutt on Blaziken!" Lillian announced.
"Fire Blast!" May ordered. Blaziken fired a Fire Blast and sends it right at Angel.
"That Fire Blast has come out stronger than when it was just a Combusken!" Lillian announced.
"Use Iron Tail!" Kairi ordered. Angel swings her tail and she manages to bat Fire Blast back, much to everyone's surprise. Blaziken is then struck by her own attack.
"Wow! Eevee swings that Iron Tail like a baseball bat and sends it back at Blaziken! This is incredible!" Lillian announced. Blaziken then gave off a red glow.
"What's with the red glow?" Yuffie asked.
"Blaziken's ability: Blaze," Yuta said.
"Blaze?" Yuffie asked.
"Blaze is an ability that Pokémon like Charmander, Torchic, Cyndaquil, and their evolved forms all share. When their stamina is low, their Fire-type attacks become even stronger than normal," Yuta said.
"Let's go, Blaziken! Blaze Kick!" May ordered. Blaziken moved in with a Blaze Kick.
"Headbutt!" Kairi ordered.
"With one minute remaining, Blaziken and Eevee come at each other with Headbutt and Blaze Kick! Does this mean what I think it means?!" Lillian exclaimed. They land a hit on each other. Angel and Blaziken looked at each other for a moment, panting. Blaziken just smirked as she fell forward, beaten. "And that's it! Blaziken is beaten! The winner of this battle and the Kanto Grand Festival is Kairi!" The crowd cheered hard. Harley was watching the battle from start to finish and he scowled.
"That redhead has done it again! What the hell is wrong with that picture?!" Harley exclaimed.
The Kanto Grand Festival draws to a close as Kairi accepts the Ribbon Cup and the crowd cheered.
"And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! Kairi, not only has she won the Hoenn Grand Festival, she outshines herself and won the Kanto Grand Festival! Thank you, Kairi for accepting the Ribbon Cup! And thank you for being a wonderful audience! This Lillian and I hope I get the privilege in seeing your happy faces again next year!" Lillian announced as the crowd cheered.
Once the closing ceremony has come to a close, Kairi's family and Yuffie prepares to depart back to Pallet Town.
"We are so very proud of you, Kairi. You were wonderful," Mirei said with pride.
"Thanks, mom," Kairi said.
"And I know your folks will be proud of you, too, May," Yuta said.
"Thank you, sir. That's very kind of you," Yuffie said.
"So, how did you enjoy it, Yuffie?" Rei asked.
"It was amazing. The battles was what I really came for. But personally, I think that one guy should expand his vocabulary. He just keeps saying 'remarkable' again and again," Yuffie said.
"That's his thing," Sora said.
"Now that the Grand Festival is over and done with, all that leaves is the finals for the Pokémon Stadium Cup," Trace said.
"You're right, Trace. If only we knew where it was being held," Sora said. Just then, the Rotom Phones of Sora, Roxas, Brendan, Chase, Elaine, Wes, Michael, and Trace went off and they show George Worthington III.
"Hello there, my eight finalists! I am informing you that the location has finally been confirmed for the Pokémon Stadium Cup finals! The finals of our prestigious tournament is being held in Fennel Castle in Fennel Valley! It shall be taking place within the next three weeks, so I suggest you keep on training for it! This George Worthington III, and that is all!" George Worthington III announced as he breaks contact.
"Well, that answers that," Roxas said.
"And just three weeks away," Rui said.
"Well, we're just gonna have to train for it like he said," Brendan said.
"Sorry we can't attend, Sora, because we have to get this Ribbon Cup home," Yuta said.
"It's okay," Sora said.
"Besides, you're right. The Ribbon Cup should be somewhere safe," Kairi said.
"And we're gonna have to stay for the night before we take off," Xion said.
"Well, it's been an exciting few days, and Kairi and I earned it," May said.
"It sure has," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
