I do NOT own X-men evolution!

Chapter 10: Favors

The first they did when they woke up was get ready and find breakfast, then they hit the road immediately to get out of the area. Rogue fidgets with her hands while they had waited for their breakfast in the small diner they chose, Remy sensing her anxiety and covering her hands with his comfortingly. He drives them to Louisiana, an unsettling feeling forming in his gut as they crept closer and closer to New Orleans.

At one point, Rogue had fallen asleep against the window, Remy glancing over to find her asleep with one hand under her chin. He smiles a bit, but couldn't get the image of her from his nightmare leave his mind. It was another thing that unsettled him. Yeah they've been through hell, but he knows they would both ensure the others safety. He mostly worried about what his so called "father" would think of his sudden and unannounced appearance with Rogue when they pull up to the estate. Remy decided to shake his negative thoughts away and focus on getting them their first. He'll worry about any issues that may occur later.

They arrive late, Rogue woken up from her nap from earlier to see they were entering New Orleans. A smile crept on her lips as she looked out the window, loving being back in the south. She can tell Remy was less than thrilled but he didn't show his distaste as easily.

Remy drives up to the estate gate, relieved to be in Thieves Guild territory and had avoided Assassin's territory. He wouldn't want to be spotted by any Assassin's down here, knowing Julien was still pissed from the first time he brought Rogue here. When he had went back home, Jean Luc met with Maurice of the Assassin's guild and had a small brief meeting. Julien had mouthed his distaste for Remy and the girl he had brought to Assassin's stronghold to rescue his father, saying if he had a run in with her again in the future he would make sure she didn't live to see another day. This made Remy's blood boil and yell at Jean Luc when he had returned and told him what happened at the meeting. It also lead Remy to promptly pack a bag and leave New Orleans after arguing with Jean Luc about how things were going to work now that he was "back home for good" and head for Bayville. It had been a few months since Apocalypse's defeat, regretting he couldn't be there to help but he was determined to join the X-men.

The gates opened, Remy feeling a lump in his throat as he drove up the driveway and parked the car. Rogue places a hand on his, looking at him concerned. "Ya okay?" She asked.

"'M fine." He forces a smile, then shuts off the car and gets out.

He opens Rogue's door for her, bringing her close and going to her ear. "Stay by m' side and stay close."

She nods in understanding, hoping deep down things turned out good for them. The front door opens, Jean Luc appearing with a slight smirk. "So y' came runnin' back huh?" He asks, then noticed Rogue and then noticed the collars on them. "Looks like ya'll got int' some trouble."

"We need t' talk." Remy says sternly.

"Come in." Jean Luc motions them inside.

Remy held Rogue close to him with an arm around her waist as they walked up the steps and into the large estate. Jean Luc turns to the pair, looking back and forth between them. "Now what did he do t' drag y' back down heah?" He asks Rogue.

"Nothin'. T'ings were fine in New York 'til Sentinels attacked us and de X-men. We were on de run 'til we got captured by mutant traffickers." Remy growls, glaring at Jean Luc.

His father raised his brows. "Mutant traffickers, huh? Y' got a lot o' talkin' t' do. She can stay out heah in de livin' room."

Rogue looks at Remy then to Jean Luc. "Ya'll got a phone ah could use? Ah wanna try ta contact our friends to see if they're okay. We haven't been able ta…"

Jean Luc nods, handing her the house phone, then motions Remy to follow. Remy kisses her head, slowly letting go of her and following his adopted father. Rogue sits on a plush couch, dialing the first number that came to mind. She heard ringing, but the line cut off, making her frown. She knew Kitty always picked up, but if she didn't have her phone then something could have been seriously wrong. She tried another number, the only other one she knew who would pick up right away. It rang, her knee bouncing anxiously. "…Hello? How'd you get this number?" A gruff voice asked on the other end.

Rogue gasps and almost sobbed right then and there. "Logan! It's meh, Rogue."

There was a pause on the other end, then Logan sighs in relief. "Holy shit, stripes. Where the fuck have you and Gambit been? Been looking all over for you two."

Rogue finally let out a half sob-half laugh, a large smile on her lips. "Same heah. We went ta the mansion first, but then got ambushed by a Sentinel. It destroyed a good portion of it. We fled outta state and we were gonna start comin' back but then we got taken by mutant traffickers. It was awful, Logan. Ah'm just so happy ta hear ya alahve."

"Me too kid. Where are you guys right now?" He asks.

"We're in Naw 'Leans, at the Thieves Guild. We had no choice but ta come heah. The mutant traffickers that captured us found us again back in Texas and tried takin' meh again, but we were luckeh ta get away."

"… Alright. Hang tight, Rogue. We're still trying to recoup here ourselves. Xavier's having Hank work on the blackbird to get it up and running again while I'm tracking down some of the others. Let Lebeau know to remain where you guys are now until I call again, alright? Do not leave the area."

"Don't worry, ah'll tell him. Ah'm so glad yoah okay, Logan." Rogue sighs into the phone, smiling as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Me too, stripes, me too. Talk to you soon." Logan sighs in relief, then hangs up.

Jean Luc looks at Remy across his desk, offering him to sit but Remy declined and stood with his arms crossed. "So, what 'appened? Why y' got dose collahs on?"

"All I'm askin' 's if y' know someone who can help take dese off." Remy ignores his question, not wanting to go into detail.

"Why? Dey negate y' powahs o' somet'in'?" Jean Luc raised an eyebrow.

"Oui. Me an' Rogue can' use our powahs t' protect ourselves from sentinels o' traffickers. De traffickers put dem on us and dey got trackin' devices in dem. Now can y' o' can y' not get dem off?"

"Now what's de rush? Y' jus' came back. Might as well stay a while. 'Sides, I wanna get t' know dis girl mo'."

"Non. We're jus' passin' by. We ain' stayin' fo' long."

"She y' girl?"

"…"

"Remy, y' know I ain' stupid. I know what dose "bruises" on 'er neck are, so are y' serious wit' dis fille o' she jus' anot'er fling?"

Remy clenches his teeth. "Rogue's m' girl. But I don' want y' near 'er."

"Might as well introduce 'er int' de family. Hell, maybe I set a weddin' date fo' y' t'. Dough, I know one particular person who ain' gon' be t' happy 'bout y' bein' back heah."

"Jus' stay outta our business. An' I know, dat's why I avoided Assassin's territory. Don' need Julien goin' aftah m' o' Rogue. Now, if y' got anybody dat can helps us, get int' contact wit' dem now. 'M not lettin' dese traffickers find us again."

Jean Luc sighs. "Dey guy I know who can help ain' heah. He a couple states away so it could be a couple days. Y' might as well stay heah fo' de time bein', Remy."

Remy sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Fine. Jus' stay away from us while we stay heah."

He leaves the study, a little frustrated as he headed towards the living room where Rogue was. He was glad a majority of the guild was out as he wouldn't want anyone to be near his Rogue while she was alone. Remy walks in to find Rogue getting off the phone, tears streaming down her face which made him alarmed and rush towards her. "Chère?! What's wrong?" He asks, concerned as his hands cup her cheeks.

She lets out a half sob-half laugh with a smile on her lips as her brilliant green eyes stared up at him. "Logan's alahve! Ah just spoke with him. He said we need ta stay where we are an' he'll call us when Hank gets the blackbird repaired."

Remy's eyebrows shot up in surprise, then he pulls her up and spins her around in an embrace. "Dere alive! Mon dieu. Dis is great!" Remy grins. "But do we have t' stay heah?"

"That's what Logan said. Why? Everythin' alraght with yer dad?" She asks after he had put her down.

Remy scratches the back of his head. "He knows y' an' I are serious. I warned 'im t' leave y' alone. I jus' don' trust 'im."

"It's fahne. We'll just stay heah until Logan calls again and avoid him while we are heah." Rogue gives him a small smile.

Remy sighs, putting his face into the crook of her neck. "Le's go t' bed. 'M tired aftah all dat drivin'."

"We need food first shugah." Rogue grins.

"Right… den sleep." Remy purses his lips. "Guess y'll meet Tante Mattie."

He grabs her hand, leading her towards the kitchen. Jean Luc was already there talking with a short stocky woman. She turns and gasps, eyes widening at the sight of Remy. "Remy! No calls and ya show up heah outta the blue?!" She hugs him tightly then tugs on his cheek as she lightly chided him.

She looks at Rogue and smiles. "Hello, chil', 'm Tante Mattie. Ya must be Remy's special gal, Rogue."

Remy coughs, his cheeks reddened, Rogue blushing lightly. "We jus' need some food, den we goin' t' bed."

"Sit. Tell me all about what's been happenin'." Tante orders Remy to sit the kitchen table while going back to finish cooking dinner. "Ya should've called, I coulda made somethin' special!"

"Well we didn' 'ave a phone…" Remy mutters.

She gives them glasses of water then goes to plate the food, Jean Luc sitting in his chair at the table, patiently waiting. "Ya'll must be boyfriend and girlfriend right?"

"Yes, ma'am." Rogue nods politely, using her fork to grab some food from her plate to eat.

"I figured de way yer neck looks. Remy, I hope ya bein' careful an' not giving us grandkids wit'out proposin' first." Tante motions to the hickeys that were slowly going away on her pale neck, Remy spits out water and starts to choke while Rogue pushes her hair to hide most of the hickeys with a deep red blush on her cheeks.

Jean Luc lets out a laugh. "Neithah wouldn' be so bad."

"Y'-*cough cough* not-*cough cough* HELPIN'!" Remy glares at him as he pounds on his chest to stop his choking.

"I'm just pointing out the obvious." Tante shrugs as she ate. "If one t'ing leads ta de othah, den ya bettah be prepared ta step up ya game. Chil' how old are ya?" She looks at Rogue who was chewing her food.

"Nineteen. Ah turn twenty in fahve months…" Rogue shyly says as she glanced up from her dinner.

Tante eyes Remy then looks at Rogue. "Well, he bettah be treatin' ya nice. So young! But 'm serious, de world is going crazy now with traffickers hunting down mutants. It be too dangerous for kids for ya'll right now."

Remy just groans, running his hand down his face. "An' dis is why I didn' want t' come back heah." He mutters.

"Oh it's not dat bad." Tante scolds. "I'm sure Rogue appreciates a safe home to rest in and get cleaned up in. Speakin' o' which, ya need any clothin'?"

"Oh, ah'm fahne. Ah got some in the car." Rogue shakes her head, smiling politely.

"Oh good. If ya didn't, I would've went and found some of Mercy's old clothes. I would hope ya had a change of clothes and not just sleepin' in ya undahwear or naked."

"Welp, I t'ink we're done fo' de night." Remy puts his fork down, both southerners have eaten a good majority of their food.

"Jus' sit heah fo' a while an' talk. Haven' seen y' in almost a whole yeah." Jean Luc motions to Remy's chair.

"Non, we're tired. So we're gon' get our stuff from de car den go t' bed." Remy gets up, shaking his head.

"Thank ya fer dinnah." Rogue thanked as she got up.

"Ya welcome, chil'." Tante smiles sweetly.

Remy grabs her hand and takes her out of the kitchen and through the front door to the car. He grabs their bags, leading her back inside and up the grand stairs quickly. Rogue looked around as they walked down the hall, Remy opening his bedroom door, then locking it once they were inside. He sighs and rubs his face after setting their stuff down. "'M sorreh 'bout dat, chère." He apologizes with a groan.

Rogue smiles at him. "It's fahne. It's just yoah family."

"Wasn' expectin' all dat dough." Remy groans as he sits on his bed.

Rogue looks around curiously, Remy watching her. "Is this the room ya grew up in?" She smiles.

"Mhm." Remy nods.

She noticed the walk in closet and the large on suite bathroom. Remy watched her curiously as she walked around. "It's pretteh nahce in heah." She finally says with a smile as she turned to look at him.

"I guess it is." Remy grins. He motions for her to come to his bed. "Le's go t' sleep, chère. Y' an' I both know y' tired an' 'm tired. I locked de door so no one 'll jus' come on in heah."

Rogue goes over to him, sitting down. "Lemme grab mah pjs-"

Remy kisses her, then pulls back and looks at her with a small smirk. "Fo'get pjs."

He moves his lips to her ear. "Jus' strip down wit' m' an' get int' bed."

Rogue blushes, her eyes staring widely at him as he smirked deviously. "Ya positive no one's…?" She trails off as she looked at him questioningly.

"If someone does come in, 'll just shield y' from dem, an' de sheet 'll covah y'." Remy caresses her cheek, a playful grin on his lips.

Rogue looks at him, but starts to strip off her clothing, climbing into the bed when she was out of all her clothes. Remy sucked in a breath as he watched, taking his clothes off and getting in bed with her, pulling her close into his arms. "Je t'aime mon amour." Remy sighs as he kisses her lovingly.

Rogue pulls him down onto her as she kissed him back. "Ah love ya too, shugah." She says softly against his lips.

Feeling his hands explore her body, she arches her back into his touch as she felt his lips move from her lips to her collarbone. She bites her lip as he sucked on the delicate skin, trying to stay quiet. Remy moves back to her lips, both of them melting into each other under the sheets.

Rogue opens her eyes slightly as morning light leaked through the curtains of the bedroom. She was curled up in her boyfriend's arms, her back against his chest as he spooned her with his face in her neck. She yawns softly, Remy shifting as he started to wake up. He places a kiss on her shoulder, his hands gently gripping her body while Rogue lets out a very soft sound. "Mornin' shugah." Rogue yawns again, smiling.

"Mornin' chère." Remy smiles. "'M hopin' t' take y' out t'day in de city."

"Lahke a date?" Rogue smiles wider.

"Mhm." Remy nods.

"Ah'd lahke that. Ya treatin' meh ta nahce naght out with dinnah?"

"Oui. De finest Naw 'Leans has t' offer. An' latah 'll 'ave some fun back heah."

Rogue chuckles. "Sounds lahke fun. Let's get up an' get some breakfast, ah'm hungreh."

Remy groans. "Fine."

The pair get up and get dressed for the day Rogue putting on a t-shirt with a black long cardigan over it and her usual pair of gloves. She put on a pair of black, distressed jeans and her shoes she's been wearing. Remy wore a distressed navy blue tee with also a pair of black jeans-his trench coat going on over the tee and his pair of shoes he's been wearing. He takes her by the hand and unlocks his door, heading down to the kitchen for breakfast.

Tante hears them coming in as she looks up from the stove with a smile. "Ya'll sleep okay?"

"We slept fahne." Rogue smiles, still a bit shy towards his family.

Tante eyes Remy a bit, then smiles again, Remy trying not to visibly gulp. She was going to speak, but then shut her mouth but then opened it again. "Well… why don't ya'll have breakfast. Ya'll must be starved."

Remy pulls out Rogue's chair for her, her smiling at him thankfully. Tante Mattie had set out breakfast on the table, but Remy had to go to the coffee pot for their coffee. He eyes Tante suspiciously as he walks over to the coffee pot. "What's wit' de smile?" He asks in a hushed tone.

"Oh nothin'." She smiles. "It is nice ta see ya with a gal who can also fend for herself and not like a damsel."

Remy nods but still eyes her, taking a sip from his mug before he goes to bring Rogue's coffee over. "Though don' go too rough on her, chil'. She's still petite-don' need ya breaking her."

Remy spits out his cough and starts choking, his face red as he glared at Tante Mattie who looked innocently at him. Rogue gets up and walks over to see if he was okay. "Ya okay?"

Remy gives Tante a look then looks at Rogue. "Jus' swallowed de wrong way, dat's all."

"Ya need meh ta get ya any water?" She looks up at him with her green eyes full of concern.

Remy wipes his mouth, then opens it as he was about to speak. "No, he'll be fine. Why don't you go sit back down and eat, girl. He'll bring ya yer coffee." Tante smiles sweetly at Rogue who just nods and goes back to her seat.

Remy makes a face at her again, but she shrugs. "Don't look at me. I didn't do anything." She then leans over to whisper. "Dough, yer father and I agree you look at her differently than other gals. She's a keeper fo' sure."

Remy groans while rolling his eyes. "Y' t' need t' butt outta m' sex life." He mutters under his breath as he takes the coffees towards the table.

Rogue was eating some fruit when he set it down in front of her. Her eyes glance up, a smile on her lips. "Thank y' shugah." She swallows her food and thanks him.

"Anyt'in' fo' y', chère." Remy smiles back, sitting down to eat some breakfast.

They finish eating, both sitting and enjoying their coffee and each other's company. Remy holds Rogue's hand across the table, sipping his coffee while she takes sips of hers. He lets go and gets up, going around the table to put his arms around her. "Y' ready t' go out?" He murmurs in her ear.

Rogue nods, putting her empty mug down. "Mhm. Ah'm ready."

They grab their dishes, putting them in the sink, then start heading out of the kitchen and towards the front door until they hear a voice. "Remy, where y' goin'?" Jean Luc asked as he entered from his study.

"We're goin' out." Remy looked annoyed.

"Actually need t' talke t' y'. Y' can meet Rogue somewhere in town if she jus' wanted t' go shoppin'." Jean Luc's hard stared hard at Remy.

Remy clenches his jaw. Rogue places a hand on his chest. "Ah did want ta check out some of the shops. Ah won't go far, ah promise."

Remy looks at her, then sighs. "Fine. But make it quick." He growls at Jean Luc.

Jean Luc smiles, content. Remy gives her the keys to the car, kissing her then follows his dad into his study while Rogue heads out.

A/N: I thought it'd be interesting for a lil family teasing even if it's just Tante Mattie and Jean Luc. Also Logan's alive! Lemme know if you guys are enjoying it, I appreciate the reviews! Until next time!
