Notes: Welcome back to those who are old and hello to those who are I mentioned previously, I will be keeping the original plot but moving some things around and rewriting it so it is less messy and rushed. Similar to what I did to "She will be mine".

Looking out her window, Lucy felt a bit frightened as the wind howled and shook the entire frame of her home. The hurricane that was nearing them was a massive storm that was shaking things in its path, trees dancing wildly in the night air, thick globs of rain pelting her window, and loud winds that howled into the night like a werewolf during a full moon.

She was never a fan of rain and this terrible weather proved to her why she disliked it so much. It was so gloomy and everything was wet, making it harder for anyone out in the open to make it to point A to point B without getting soaked.

Luckily, the rain hadn't started till school was out and she was just happy that her mother got home before the storm came. This weather did not look safe at all.

But lucky for her, it would make excellent background noise which would surely lull her to sleep in no time.

"Lucy!" Her mother's voice echoed from downstairs, catching her attention. "Come downstairs, it's time for dinner! Dan is also over!"

The mention of her idiotic little fanboy that was constantly up her ass had her throwing her head back and groaning. He had been obsessed with her since day one and even if she tells him to back off and she's not really interested, he continues to do things for her and in some instances, comes unannounced and joins them for dinner.

Dan wasn't a terrible person. He was just annoying and overly emotional where sometimes it was hard to have him back off. He was like a puppy dog, waiting for praise and treats while following her around with his own idiotic posse.

At least he was nice and with it just being her and her mother, it was nice to have a man around to do the hard work.

Coming down the stairs, she peeked through the living room towards the kitchen to see her fan-boy who was a bit too obsessed over her. Knowing him since they were really young and with her a year older, he always followed her around and always asked her to be his but honestly, she didn't see him like that. He was more like a younger brother than a boyfriend type.

"Lu-Lu! I was just talking to your mom about you." The brunette beamed once he caught sight of her.

"Dan... Why are you here?" She said straight out, slowly walking towards her childhood friend and mother as Layla gave her daughter a small scowl.

Dan didn't look like that offended him and all he did was grin. "Because the storm was pretty rough and I was worried about my two favorite ladies!"

"And you're welcome to eat dinner with us." Layla finished for him, setting down a fresh steaming bowl of rice in front of him.

"Mama—"She started to whine but Layla cut her off with a glare.

"Lucy, be nice."

"No, no, I understand. My beautiful Lucy needs to eat, I understand. I promise I'll give you all the fatty goods!" Dan said, trying to scramble around the dishes so he could prepare a plate for his queen.

"I don't like fatty foods!"

Suddenly, as if someone just tackled the Heartfillia residence, the house trembled and shook underneath them all. Confusion was easily the first emotion all of them felt until the floor began to rumble and their eyes grew wide at the sound of the house creaking and moaning.

Dan was the first one to shoot up, grabbing for the older blonde. "Hurry, we have to get out of here before the house comes down!"

"Dan, the house isn't going to—"Lucy started to say but stopped midway when the lights began to flicker and shake back and forth as if it was an earthquake. Above her counter, the lamps came crashing down and broke into millions of pieces making the two women squeal in fear.

Dan didn't hesitate to wait any longer as he rushed to grab at Lucy's wrist, yanking her and her mother outside as the house trembled and moaned. The rain pelted them making their skins itch and as they began to get drenched, the three watched as the house crumbled apart and blew apart as if some explosive was doing the job.

That day, Lucy found more reasons why she hates storms.

"So... you ended up at a Hotel and you're now sleeping there?" Cana asked the blonde who slowly dragged her feet against the dirt ground as they made their way to school. Leaning against her friend, Levy, she could only sigh and nod as Cana clicked her tongue in disapproval. "That must be expensive."

"Yeah... but it's only for today because I heard that my mama's friend contacted her right after the whole incident and they said we could move in with them."

Levy and Cana exchanged looks as Lucy's frown deepened on her pale face.

"Lu, if I could, I would have allowed you to stay with me! But my stupid parents said we don't have the space."

"It's alright. I'm just staying at my mama's friend's house until our new house is rebuilt or we buy a new one. And you know what that means... bigger room!" Lucy cried out, trying to be enthusiastic about this as she really wasn't. Her two friends could see right through her fake smile, giving her sympathetic pats on the back.

"Did you at least get all your valuable things?"

"Yeah, we found most of it. The insurance company is paying us to get everything back so I don't really have to worry about books or clothes like that."

"That's a relief." Cana sighed as they continued their way up the hill, occasionally stopping because of the giggles and teases from the others. Cana did a great job on scaring them away, though. Threatening to cut their hair off and throw them down the river bank if they harassed her friend any longer and it helped her get past the bullying just a bit.

She just wished everything would go back to normal so she didn't have to deal with any of the embarrassing teases.

Of course something as big as her house crumbling during the storm would get large media coverage. Nearly the entire country knew about how her home had gotten destroy in the impact of the hurricane and with news reporters coming out to interview them, they had gotten plenty of attention from everyone.

Which means that since she was still in high school, plenty of her classmates thought it was cool to taunt and tease her about being homeless.

Teenagers were brutal and if it wasn't for her strong-willed friends, she probably wouldn't have made it this far in life.

All she wanted was everyone to stop looking at her and whispering about how her house literally collapsed into a pile of rubble. But it looked like her luck ran dry when she saw her idiotic childhood friend, Dan, holding some kind of petition to raise money for her home to be rebuilt right in front of the school. Screaming through a microphone, he shouted at students to pay up and it made her face flame up in embarrassment.

"Is that... Dan?" Levy squinted to take a better look at the commontion.

"My god—what is that idiot doing?!" Lucy whisper-shouted towards her friends as she used her hands to cover her face, face blooming in color. She gently pushed her friends to try and get through the crowd of people, using them as shields. "Hurry, let's sneak past him! God, I'm going to give him a handful when I get home!"

"Oh! Look, it's Lu-tan! Lun-Lun, get over here!" Dan shouted, noticing the blonde who tried sneaking away. Lucy squeaked and tried hiding behind the pillar but he went over and grabbed her arm, grinning and pulling her out in front of everyone to have them stare at her like some kind of wild animal up for auction.

The look of horror was evident on her face as she looked at the small crowd of students holding up their phones to record the sad pathetic act, seeing how Dan had a huge board with her face on it and microphone in one hand.

"Look at this beautiful precious woman! Do you think anyone, and I mean anyone could let such a beauty suffer?" He asked the crowd which made them begin to murmur to one another.

Lucy whipped her head over to glare at her childhood friends, the tips of her ears burning red. "D—Dan! Enough of this—this is embarrassing! What do you think you're doing?!" She hissed, jerking her hand free as he still didn't look like he got the message.

"What else does it look like? I'm trying to help you raise money so you can build a new house." He grinned, looking at her as if it was the most obvious thing.

Lucy slapped her palm against her face, sighing frustratedly. "Dan... You don't need to worry about that, my mama's got everything under control. Please stop this stupid—"

"Hey! You there, guy with the pink hair! Yeah, I'm talking to you! How dare you go around and act like nothing is happening?!" Dan suddenly shouted through the microphone, ignoring Lucy's little rant as the blonde's heart stopped.

The only guy in this school with pink hair was…

She looked over at whom he was screaming at to notice it was one of the popular jocks that attended the school, Natsu Dragneel. He was standing right next to his other popular jock friend, Gray Fullbuster, and the two looked over in confusion.

Natsu and Gray were easily two of the most well known people in her high school. They were both on the men's soccer team and excelled in the sport, attractive faces and lean bodies giving them the reputation as mentioned.

They also happened to be douchebags who only kept to themselves and their jock friends, which is why Lucy wanted nothing to do with them and was horrified to see Dan shouting at them when they tried to walk by.

"Yeah, you too, shirtless! Yeah, don't you see what's going on here?!" Dan asked, pointing at one of his buddies who held a large sign up while having a box strapped to his chest to collect money.

Natsu stared and squinted till he finally shrugged. "And what do you want me to do?"

"Do you not own a television in your house? Didn't you see the news last night, bastard?!" Dan was shrieking, throwing his hands around in the air before pointing his finger right at Lucy who jumped. "This poor girl's house fell down during the storm!"

"And are you accusing me of doing such a thing?" He asked in a flat tone, a bored expression mirroring his face making Dan's inner turmoil run and his anger to rush out of his ears.

"No, but I want you to pay some respect and pay, you bastard!"

The moment he turned to look right at her made her heart skip and face burn a hundred degrees hotter. She quickly whipped her head away to look anywhere else, not wanting to confront this nightmare. She was going to murder Dan in the bathroom for embarrassing her like this and shouting at Natsu Dragneel of all people… she didn't need anyone's pity nor charity. Especially from the likes of him.

Finally digging in his pocket, Natsu pulled out his black leather wallet and pulled out a twenty dollar bill. He came forward to dump it into the bin but right before he was about to put it in, he paused and pulled the other twenty out and folded it neatly. Just as he was about to pop it into the box attached to one of Dan's lackeys, Lucy cried out, throwing her arms out in front of her.

This caused them all to turn and look at the red-faced blonde.

"N—no! Don't... I don't need your money, just please stop this." Her voice shook her embarrassment, her eyes darting over to Dan. "Dan, stop this stupid petition and stop gathering money. I told you, I'm fine."

"But Lu-Lu—"

"Dan, listen to me, okay? Stop this nonsense right now."

Frowning and pouting like a small child being scolded, Dan slumped away and allowed Lucy to take over. She turned back to the soccer player and dipped her head down, avoiding his smothering gaze.

"Thank you for your offer but really, I don't need it. You're nice enough to donate forty dollars like that but like I've said, you don't need to."

"I didn't really want to but I had to 'cause this one was being annoying. But since you said I don't need to, thanks a bunch!" One corner of his lip curled up into a smirk, stuffing his bills back into his wallet. His eyes dragged up and down her figure, an eyebrow quirked up to his hairline. "Anyways, I'm sure you can figure out how to get money in a quicker and easier way."

Gawking in disbelief, she watched how the two jocks walked away as if nothing ever happened, leaving her standing there with a slack jaw.

Did he just..?

"That bastard! Who does he think he is saying that to you?!" Cana said, coming right next to Lucy as she started to roll up her sleeves. "I'll teach him a lesson. And Gray too! That asshole!"

"Don't worry about it. He's a jock," Lucy said as she tried stopping her friend who scoffed.

"So what if he's a jock? That gives them no right to act like jackasses in front of you! He deserves to be punished!"

"Cana, don't start a fight you can't finish." Levy came to put her hands on her shoulders, pushing her towards the entrance of the building. "Come on, it's time for class."

Swinging her arms around her two friend's shoulders, she started to walk back with them complaining life was too dull.

Lucy could only think about the latest events that have happened in the last twenty four hours.

Has her luck really turned this bad?

"Aren't you excited, Lucy? I sure am—oh my gosh, just imagine all the fun we will be having!" Layla squealed as she drove while Lucy offered a small smile towards her beaming mother. "I heard it's a family of four there and I bet it'll be twice the fun now! You always wanted siblings! They have two sons!"

"Is that right?" Lucy let out a soft laugh, watching her mom bob her head back and forth with the radio. "Well, as long as you're happy, mama, I'm happy too." The younger blonde said as Layla sighed happily and gently put her palm where her heart was. Looking over at her beloved daughter, she offered a wide smile and an air-kiss making Lucy giggle and the two laughed all the way there.

Coming across a relatively large single house, Layla stopped right in front of it to check if it was the correct address. When noticing it was, she gasped and unbuckled her seat belt, stepping outside to go knock on the door. Lucy also trailed out with her mother and the two approached the door, ringing the doorbell that was attached to the door outside.

Once the bell rang, the door opened a few seconds later to have a blue-haired woman pop her head out and look at them with curiosity. After a second, a giant smile spread across her lips and she threw her arms in the air, squealing excitedly which caused her mother to begin squealing with her. They threw their arms around one another, rocking back and forth in a loving way that had Lucy staring with a smile to her lips.

"Layla, oh my gosh, Layla! I haven't seen you in so long! You still look so flawless! Oh my god—is this daughter?! You two look so much alike!"

"Yes, yes, this is my daughter. Lucy, say hi. This is Grandine, one of my best friend's back when I attended school!" Layla gushed, grabbing at her arm to bring her forward.

Lucy flushed, giving her a bashful smile. "H—hello, Grandine. I'm Lucy Heartfillia." Lucy bowed respectfully as Grandine gasped, giving her a teary-eyed expression.

Lucy didn't have time to ask what was the matter as Grandine quickly urged them to come inside, opening the door for them to enter the large home. The fresh scent of florals invaded her nose as soon as she stepped foot into the pristine place. Tall ceilings and wide enough space able to host more than twenty bodies in the living room alone. Nice wooden floors, plush white couches in the corner facing a large flat screen television. Paintings and all sorts of decor littered around the home, giving it a comfy feel to it.

Lucy especially loved how big the kitchen was with a nice white marble top island, golden hardware catching her gleaming eyes.

"Honey! Layla and her daughter are here!" Grandine called out, her voice echoing between the walls of the home. Soon, she heard the soft patter of feet before a dashing red-haired man came down the stairs, a wide grin on his face.

"Igneel!"

"Layla!"

The three were too busy screaming and giving hugs that Lucy was completely left out, wondering what in the world happened to her mother in the last twenty four hours. Clearly, it's been a roller coaster of emotions with their house crumbling from the storm and to them having to sleep in a hotel overnight.

And not seeing your best friends for this long could most definitely bring the oldest person to their childish ways.

"Oh, where are my manners?" Grandine pulled away from their three-way hug to gasp, placing her hand on her cheek. "We have to get your stuff inside—it's late! Here, I'll call my sons to help!"

"Oh no, its okay, Grandine! Lucy and I can manage, right?" Layla smiled towards her daughter who nodded, trying to show off her muscle making Grandine laugh and shake her head.

"Nonsense. We have men in this household, better use them for what they're meant for, right?" Grandine winked right at Lucy, making her giggle. "Boys! Come down here and help out guest with their luggage!" She shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

Using that as their cue, the Heartfillia woman went right back to putting their shoes back on to make it out the door with Igneel in tow. Her mother was a ball of sunshine, talking back and forth with Igneel about everything and anything while Lucy went and unlocked the car.

Her mother and Igneel grabbed whatever they could, strapped bags to their backs and their arms before heading back inside. That gave Lucy time and room to start gathering the rest of their belongings to plop by the stairs, making it easier for everyone to get what they can grab before heading back inside.

Strapping her own backpack on her back, Lucy reached for her duffle bag that was lodged between two other suitcases. She yanked at the handle but frowned when it barely budged, making her bent over into the trunk and try to free it. But to no avail, it was shoved into the cramp trunk and she could feel one of the straps was trapped, tugging on the bag to feel the resistance of it.

Letting out a huff, Lucy tried to remove the much larger bags on either side to free hers and unknowingly, somebody came up behind her and watched her struggle.

By the time she was huffing and puffing with a red face, she jolted in her spot at the sound of a voice right behind her.

"Do you need some help with that?"

"Oh, no! I'm fine—thank you for your help though—"Lucy started to say as she flashed a sweet smile but it fell instantly when she realized who it was once she turned around.

Slamming her back against her car as she looked up at the smirking pink-haired jock she just encountered today, her jaw fell open in a fit of disbelief and shock.

"N—Natsu..?"

Notes: first sneak peek into the new version of troublemaker. Like I mentioned before, I'm just cleaning it up and keeping the plot and everything else as similar as i can. See you in the next chapter!
