I don't own Kingdom Hearts or any of the characters within the Arkhamverse. They belong to Square Enix, Disney, DC, and Rocksteady. Okay, this one took a little longer to cook. We're introducing many new characters within this chapter. Expect to see some new faces that weren't in the latest Arkham game along with some returning Disney characters. Now, before we begin let's dive into the reviews, then we can move on the chapter!
urlgang: Note, in that very same world, when the Nobodies showed up, Sora warned the couple that a frying pan wasn't going to cut it that time. And again, we still don't see a good example of that. And I do agree with what you said, the Heartless would just return to the Realm of Darkness if killed by any other weapon to strike again later on... but for this story. I want to remind you that Brainiac experimented on both the Heartless and Nobodies. Not only increasing their intelligence but increasing their power and making them harder to kill. Unless of course, you have a Keyblade nearby. And know thanks to Sora, they do. Glad you're enjoying this though. It's always fun to talk about KH lore.
danifan3000: 1. Yeah, I think it's safe to say, Brainiac's going to learn the hard way, not to mess with the Heartless. One way or the other.
2. Yep, no explosive chip for Sora's head. Or anyone's... thanks to an evil brainwashed Batman... not what he did was right but at least it wasn't entirely his fault that Waller's dead. He was not control of his actions but let's face it, if she tried, I'm certain the entire DC universe of heroes and antiheroes would come after her and make her regret it. XD
GameMax10: Yeah, Sora just can't catch a break. At least he has one familiar face with him... as of right now.
Darth Mando: Yeah, I mean, he is Batman. Sora was going to need more experience if he was leveled up to take him on. While none of them are not leader of the resistance, I do plan to have some of the Bat-family have a role in this. No Bat Woman though. Never been a fan of hers. Nightwing is a shoe-in for this fanfic though, and will be apart of the resistance. I can confirm that. More DC heroes on the way too as a matter of fact. I just hope I do the characters justice in this... no pun intended. Interesting idea, btw... I can neither confirm or deny that's what will happen. And I do have plans for how Sora will gain new powers from all of this. There's a subtle hint to how it'll work but the Keyblade does play a big role in it.
G09F17R02: I'm not currently taking requests now but I do suggest you stick around. You just might see a familiar wall-crawler make a big appearance here.
roggerlopez99: To quote a certain KH trailer: "You'll never know who you might meet." However, the convicts in this universe are still in lockup as Waller was killed before she could recruit them. He did see the cannon Arkham Suicide Squad from the game as he crossover to an alternate Earth within the first chapter. Maybe they'll meet again, maybe they won't. Who knows.
Superwheeltires: Wow! That's high praise! Thanks!
Heart of Shepard: Oh, yeah, this chapter alone makes a good example what might expect of what's to come.
Guest02957: At this point, Barbra doesn't know about Baymax but she did unintentionally help him too. Sadly, Sora lost all of his Keychains when coming to this world. He just has his Kingdom Key, but with the powers he'll get, he'll more than make up for them.
FanFicHazza: Nice to hear I'm doing something right so far! Thanks!
VaderSkywalker: Oh, now I understand, well, Sora was supposed to go the world of fiction but due to Brainiac's multiverse invasion, brought him to the DC Arkham Verse instead. And we're going to go deep with that gulit when Sora and the others save the League... and Brainiac's going to regret everything by the time Sora's done saving this world! XD
KingNice92: We actually get to see a bit of that reaction in this chapter actually. We'll dive into it more in future chapters. Yozora may be tough but there's no way he can get to Sora with the entire Justice League by his side... when he gets to that point.
keybladelight: Yeah, I can confirm this story gets a happy ending, there will still be some loses but the League will survive and the world will be save by our favorite KH protagonist! All through the power of friendship, hearts, and light! In the way, only Sora can pull it off. No spoilers but I will say Ivy will be involved in here but no child crush here. Just friendship goodness. Plus, for Sora, it's Kairi all the way. Many Sokai nods to come in this story!
Okay, with that out of the way, here's today's chapter. The longest yet of this fanfic! Enjoy!
Chapter 4: Race to the Hall
Billy Batson has lived in Metropolis practically his whole life. Even as an orphan, he's come to know the city and many of its people. And just like any other fan, he was a big fan of the Justice League. Superman has been his hero since he first showed his face.
There had never been a threat that Superman or the League has been able to stand up against...
...at least until the vanished over three weeks ago, as they headed that alien skull ship. Everything was going straight to heck! The orphanage had been destroyed, people were turning into those monsters, and here he was running throughout the city. Trying to help anyone he could. Billy often considered transforming into his alter ego, but then he finally saw Green Lantern, shooting down the good guys.
If the bad guy had control over him, what about the other members of the League? What of Superman? Did he control them all and if he could... what's the stop him from doing the same to him? Turn him against the people he swore to protect ever since meeting the wizard.
Until he found some other heroes to team up with, Captain Marvel had to keep his head down...
"Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh! Someone help!"
Billy's eyes widened, some lady was in trouble. He ran towards the direction he had heard the scream. The woman crawled backwards as a monster stalked her, if he didn't act soon, she be turned into one of them! Picking up a fallen brick from the destruction going on all around them, he threw with all of his might which merely bounced off the monsters head.
The good news it distracted the monster allowing the woman to escape. Bad news... it had a new target. Him! His eyes widened, "Uh oh!"
He then ran as quickly as he could while the monster of darkness ran after him. He did everything thing he could to shake the monster off his tail, sliding underneath small opening in walls, climbing over fences... but the monster was still in pursuit. Eventually, he ran into a dead end, on pure instinct, he started to shot out, "SHAZA-"
But he stopped himself, to avoid becoming a bigger threat to the world. He looked for any other means to escape but found none. He could only think to do one thing that would benefit the world he sought to protect...
...take one for the team. He muttered, "This is gonna hurt."
The monster leaped at him, as he braced his arms for impact, but then he heard a slash and a voice calling out to him, "Are you okay?"
Billy opened in eye to see the monster was gone. In his place, was a teenage boy only a few years older than him, holding a giant key with one hand while offering a hand to help him back up...
Sora and Baymax had just left the museum, once he remembered to unlock the doors, to see someone a few years younger than him getting chased by a NeoShadow. Thankfully, he was able to reach him on time before the Heartless consumed his heart. He gave him a reassuring smile he offered to help him back up.
The black hair boy started at him for a moment before graciously accepting his offer as he pulled him back on his feet, "Yeah. I'm good. Thanks. I'm Billy by the way. Billy Batson."
"I'm Sora. Good to meet you," He replied, "Wish it was under different circumstances."
"Same." Billy nodded before glancing at Sora's Keyblade, "So what's with the giant key."
"Oh, this? It's called a Keyblade," He stated as he lifted up in the air, "It's the only thing that can truly destroy the Heartless and Nobodies."
"Heartless and Nobodies?" Billy repeated, "Are that what those things are called?" He then looked at the weapon, "So that key is like their Kryptonite..."
"Krypto-what now?" Sora blinked in confusion.
"You know, the stuff that hurts Superman," He tried to clarify.
"Huh? Don't remember Superman mentioning that in the Hall of Justice." The Keyblade's Chosen One muttered to himself.
"YOU ACTUALLY VISITED THE HALL OF JUSTICE?!" Billy beamed in amazement, "What was it like?!"
"Oh, it was so cool!" Sora beamed, "There's the hologram thingys of the League that tell them a bit about themselves! The explain about their suits, gadgets, and abilities. They apparently have an HQ in space."
"Shut. Up." Billy's jaw hit the ground.
"It's true!" The Keyblade Wielder beamed before shaking his head, "Gah! Losing the main topic here! The point is... I'm going to find a way to find a way to save this world from the Heartless and Nobodies!"
Billy blinked in confusion, "Don't you mean our world?"
"Oh, right... I'm sort of from another world," He slowly nodded before confessing.
"You mean... like Superman?" Billy blinked in disbelief, as Sora nodded in confirmation, "Cool." He then wondered, "So... are you going to be doing this all by yourself or..."
"No, me and Baymax are going to meet up with the resistance in the Hall of Justice," Sora revealed.
"Baymax?" Billy blinked in confusion, "Isn't that..."
Before he could finish, Billy's eyes widened in disbelief as said inflatable robot waddled his way towards the two as he accidentally bumped a fallen bike. Looking down at it, he picked it up and gently moved it to the side before walking over to the two teens as he waved at Billy, "Hello. I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion."
All Billy had to say to himself was, "Holy Moly..."
"Yeah, he's robot," Sora nodded as he smiled, "Pretty cool, right?"
Billy barely even acknowledged the Keyblade Wielder, "Definitely..."
He walked over to observe every inch of the healthcare companion. Even planting his face to see the inner machinery of robot. His voiced muffled, "He looks exactly how he does in the movie."
Sora blinked in confusion, "I'm sorry...? I am not sure if I heard you right..."
Removing his face, off the inflatable robot, he turned to Sora, "Where did you find him?!"
"Oh, we met in the world of San Fransokyo," Sora admitted, "But I may have unintentionally brought him here on mistake."
"San Fransokyo? As in the place where Big Hero 6 are supposed to be from?" Billy slowly turned to Sora dumbfounded.
Sora blinked in confusion, "How do you know Big Hero 6?"
The younger teen opened his mouth to speak before his eyes widened, as he whispered, "Green Lantern."
Sora turned around to see the corrupt superhero flying over the museum. His eyes widened in horror, "Hide."
The two quickly pushed Baymax behind the wall as Lantern scanned the museum with his ring before reaching his coms, "Batman. I'm at the museum. There's no sign of the kid. He's no longer here." Both Billy and Sora peeked their heads to spy on the Lantern, "Hurt you say? Then he couldn't have gotten far..." He then flew off in another direction, "I'll do a sweep around town."
Both Billy and Sora sighed in relief, as the former suggested, "How about explanations after we get back to the Hall of Justice?"
"Fine by me," Sora nodded before pausing, "Wait, we?"
"Look, I know the city like the back of my hand, and you can actually fight the monsters," Billy pointed out, "We'll need each other if we going to survive this. Especially with an evil Justice League is after you."
"Fair enough, we'll follow your lead," Sora nodded, "But I have a call letting us know when someone is going to help us out the rest of the way."
"Sounds like a plan to me," Billy nodded in agreement.
As the two ran across the street, Baymax lifted a finger, "Jaywalking is a potential hazardous way to cross the street. I suggest to find a crosswalk, stop sign, or stoplight and look both ways before crossing."
The two teens ran back for the healthcare companion, and shoved him across the street as Sora stated, "I've think we've got bigger issues than jaywalking, Baymax."
This was not exactly how Sora would have preferred things to go down...
...well, he was always okay with making new friends and reuniting with old ones. Although, they would get there a lot quicker if Baymax had his armor. According to him, it was still in San Fransokyo. So it was definitely not going to be called upon anytime soon. If he could, they would have been able to fly there.
It also meant that Sora had to face any Heartless or Nobody on his own. On the bright side, all the fighting to get his Thunder spell back. They had many encounters with the Enhanced Heartless and Nobodies, and Sora had to take them out quickly to avoid sending an alarm to Green Lantern or Batman.
Thankfully, things were going smoothly so far as they reached the Queen's Industries building. Sora managed to cut down another Heartless before looking around for any more. He glanced to Billy, "How much farther now?"
"We're still miles away from the Hall of Justice," Billy informed him, "If the buses and subways were still active, we could have gotten there quicker... plus, there's also the fact... well... no offense to Baymax... but..."
"I am not fast," The healthcare companion stated the obvious.
"Yeah, that," The Metropolis born teenager before wondering, "Any luck with this Oracle woman?"
Pulling out his GummiPhone, he frowned, "Not since we last spoke in the Bat Museum. I hope everything is okay."
Billy sighed before his eyes widened, "Behind you!"
Sora looked back right in time as a Heartless pounced at him. It would have gotten a lucky hit too... if an arrow hadn't struck the creature of darkness first, causing it to fade. Both teens blinked, as a new voice exclaimed, "GET INSIDE THE BUILDING BEFORE MORE OF THEM SHOW UP!"
Both teenagers and the one robot looked up to see from the rooftops, a man in a green outfit, was drawing out another arrow. Billy's eyes widened in disbelief, "Is that...?"
"NOW!" He told the three.
"Better do what he says." Sora stated as the two pulled the Baymax towards the building.
Just then, a blonde woman with a black jacket and leggings opened the door to the building for them, "Quickly."
As the two pulled the healthcare companion into the building, they ran into the problem. Baymax was too big to fit in the doors so he was stuck. The three humans blinked for completely different reasons, as the woman raised a finger, "Wait, is that..."
"Oh no," Baymax blinked before raising a finger, "Excuse me while I let out some air.."
All of a sudden, the healthcare robot started deflating, as the trio to watch as the healthcare companion deflate himself making a loud noise. Billy stated, "This was funnier in the movie... when no alien invasions were trying to kill us then..."
"Movie?" Sora repeated in confusion.
"I have so many questions now," The adult woman stated to the teenagers, as Baymax was finally small enough to fit through.
Everyone quickly pulled him inside, the woman asked robot, "Are you good."
"I am still in on piece," Baymax answered, "It will take me a moment to re-inflate."
The three stared at Baymax as he started to re-inflate himself. Suddenly, the man with the green bow exited an elevator, "Okay, you kids are clear for now. Now can you tell what you three are do-" He then blinked as he started at the inflating robot, "Wait, is that supposed to be Baymax from Big Hero 6?"
"Your Green Arrow." Billy was dumbfounded at the Archer, who was dumbfounded at the currently inflating Baymax, before gesturing to the blonde woman, "And your Black Canary."
"How does everyone seem to know Baymax and Big Hero 6?" Sora lifted a finger in confusion, "Being since we're both from other worlds?"
Black Canary blinked as she raised an eyebrow. Billy clarified, "Sora's from another planet like Superman... not entirely sure of how Baymax is here there."
"I was alerted to the need to medical practice when Sora said, 'Ow.'" Baymax lifted a finger.
"Yeah, that might have been my fault," Sora admitted, "It's a long story, but I was separated from my friends, I saw something I thought could use to escape the Final World, and I ended up here. And unintentionally brought Baymax along after I tried to save Flash."
"Flash?" Green Arrow ran up to the the Keyblade Wielder, "You mean he's alive?!"
"Last I checked, he ended up saving me from Batman," He sighed as he rubbed his arm, "Ended up getting captured instead."
"Damn it," The archer sighed. Before reassuring him, "Look, kid, it's not your fault. Even before Brainiac got to him, Bruce wouldn't let anyone stop him from his mission."
"With his code gone, you should be lucky to be alive," Black Canary told the older teenager, before awkwardly glanced at the healthcare companion, "...that and a fictional character came to life when you needed him." Before telling Baymax, "No offense."
"I am a robot," Baymax stated, "I cannot be offended."
"What do mean fictional?" Sora tilted his head.
Unsure what to tell the boy, she changed the subject, "How did you bring him here, by the way?"
"I'm not sure," He admitted, "When Flash was taken, a crack was left behind when he was teleported away. I thought I could use it to go rescue him but when I used the Keyblade on it, it brought Baymax instead."
"Keyblade?" Canary wondered.
"Wait, crack?" Green Arrow rubbed his beard, before asking, "I wouldn't by any chance look like the one next to me, would it?"
As he gestured to the reception desk, everyone turned to see a crack. Sora nodded, "Yeah! It looked just like it."
Baymax commented, "I have scanned the crack, and I have detected three life forms inside."
"You're saying there's people in these things?" Black Canary asked the robot.
"We've got to get them out of there!" Billy exclaimed.
Sora thought to himself, before stretching forth his hand and summoning his Keyblade. Both older vigilantes turned to him in shock as the spiky-haired teen stated, "Well... if it worked once..."
He then aimed his Keyblade at it as light swirled around the tip of the blade before shooting out a beam that struck the crack. Suddenly, a paw stepped out as a familiar-looking lion to all stepped out. The red main looked back towards the crack, "See? I told you we'd find our way out."
"In the Pridelands," The meerkat riding on the back of a warthog complained, "You said we'd find our way back to the Pridelands."
"Aw, it's not so bad, Timon," The warthog looked up to the meerkat, "We're not surrounded by Hyenas or Heartless."
Timon then noticed the dumbfounded humans, as his eyes widened in fear, "Yeah... we're just surrounded by humans..." Then stared at Green Arrows bow as he began to panic, "...AND ONE OF THEM IS ARMED!"
Both the warthog and meerkat screamed as they hid behind the lion, "Don't let them get us, Simba! I'm too young to die! What will Pumbaa do without me?!"
Simba was quickly on guard before easing up as he recognized the face of a friend, "Oh, Sora! I didn't notice ya! How have you been?!"
"Oh, you know, fighting Heartless, making new friends," Sora smiled back while every was dumbfounded at what happened.
"Oh, so same as usual," The king of Pride Rock assumed.
"Yep, how's Nala been these days?" Sora asked the lion, "Did she have the baby yet?"
"Due any day now," Simba smiled, "I was just about to check up on her when Rafiki warned me potential threat to our world, and went to investigate." He gestured to the other animals behind him, "Timon and Pumbaa tagged along because they were worried I'd run into a bunch of Heartless."
"Simba? Why aren't you protecting us?" Timon shoved behind him.
"Relax, Timon. You two know Sora," The lion king turned to the meerkat.
"ARE YOU NUTS?" Timon stared at Simba in disbelief, as he gestured to Sora, "SORA'S A LION! He doesn't look anything like him!"
Pumbaa, however, did take another look at Sora, "Actually his main and eyes look the same... and his voice... Timon... I think it is Sora."
Timon felt like his jaw hit the ground, as he stated, "Am I the only sane one around here?!" He then once again gestured to Sora, "This is a human! Sora is a lion! I guarantee that this is not...!"
"Hey, Timon!" Sora greeted the meerkat.
"Oh, hey, Sora." Timon waved back at Sora, "Could I have a moment, I was just telling Simba and Pumbaa to get their eyes checked because they think..." He then froze in disbelief, before looking back at the two natives of the Pridelands, "One moment..." He quickly ran up to Sora as he narrowed his eyes at Green Arrow, "I've got my eyes on you."
The archer raised his hands in defense as he whispered to Canary, "You're seeing this too, right?"
"Yep," She nodded, "And I thought the fact aliens are invading us would be the strangest thing we'd see this year."
"Ditto," The Archer nodded in agreement.
Billy muttered to himself as Timon observed the Keyblade Wielder, "This is so cool..."
He hummed to himself, scratching his chin, before tapping on Sora's spikey hair. He hummed to himself as he asked with skepticism in his voice, "If you are Sora... then what's our motto."
"Oh, that's easy," Sora smiled, "Hukana Matata!"
"Sora! It's you!" Timon beamed before looking back to Simba and Pumbaa, "See?! I told you guys it was Sora!"
Simba playfully rolled his eyes while Pumbaa raised an eyebrow in confusion, "You did?"
"Somethings go right through one ear and out the other, Pumbaa. I was clear as day on the subject." Timon deadpanned. Before looking back to Sora, "But what the heck happened to ya! To your fur, your tail, your mane!" The meerkat then muttered to himself as he observed his spiky hair, "Then again, that one you still got..."
"Actually, I've been meaning to tell you guys," Simba spoke up getting Pumbaa's and Timon's attention, "When I met Sora he was human, he needed my help and consider what he was up against, I was more than willing to help. We became fast friends. A year later, I almost didn't him, Donald, or Goofy when they came to the Pridelands."
"Gee, Simba, it sounds like this is how Sora usually looks in other places." Pumbaa figured as he turned to the lion.
"No way! Now how does that make any sense..." Timon denied before brighting up in realization, "Wait. I've got an idea! Maybe this is what Sora usually looks like in other places!"
"Oh yeah! That makes even more sense!" Pumbaa smiled brightly as he was oblivious of his epiphany being stolen, "So does this mean no one here is going to kill us and eat us?"
"Of course not," Simba smiled as he gestured to the other humans and Baymax, "They're obviously some of Sora's other friends."
"But... we just met," Arrow pointed out.
"Ah, still new to Sora I see," The king of Pride Rock nodded in understanding, "Give it time. You'll see."
"It's true," Sora nodded.
"By the way, with everything that's happened, I never got an answer," Simba turned to the older teenager as Timon climbed off of him, "How did you end up as a lion on my world."
"Donald's magic," Sora answered.
"Ah, that makes sense," He nodded in understanding, "Protecting the World Order."
"You know it," He nodded.
"Okay, time out," Green Arrow set aside his bow, "What is evening happening right now? Why are Disney characters are showing up out of the blue?"
Sora, Simba, Pumbaa, and Timon stared at him in confusion. Timon slowly repeated, "Disney... characters..."
"Hey, Timon, what's a Disney...?" Pumbaa asked the meerkat.
"Well, obviously it's..." Timon raised a finger, before stopping, before glancing to Simba, "Uh, Simba, what is a Disney?"
"Well, Sora would know better than I would," The lion admitted.
"The only Disney I know is Disney Castle," Sora admitted, "Donald, Goofy, and King Mickey's homeworld, but... I don't think that's what he's referring to..."
Baymax walked up to them, "He, and others also seemed to be aware of Big Hero 6 despite not being anywhere near San Fransokyo. Claiming that I am a fictional character."
"Oh, Baymax, you're here too, huh?" Simba recalled the healthcare companion. Before his eyes widened in realization, "Oooooh..." He looked to Sora with sympathy, "We're not in San Fransokyo, are we?"
Sora sadly shook his head, as the lion continued to presume, "And he ended up on this world the same way we did?" Sora nodded as the lion winced, "Oh, Donald's not going to like this."
"You keep mentioning Donald and Goofy," Black Canary repeated as she stated, "And you mention a King Mickey..." She then wondered, "You wouldn't by any chance know the names, 'Daisy, Chip, Dale, Pluto, Minnie Mouse, Scar, Mufassa, Rafiki, Hiro, Go Go, Wasabi, Fred, Honey Lemon would you?'"
The visitors from another world stared in disbelief as Timon muttered to Pumbaa, "Gee, this would be really creepy if one of these strangers started mentioning my family."
"Oh, what about Timon's Ma and Uncle Max?!" Billy raised his hand causing the meerkat's jaw to hit the ground.
"Seriously, how you know of all people know Uncle Max?!" Timon exclaimed in disbelief, "And my MA! Sora doesn't even know about my family!"
"Huh, you know, I never came to mind until now," Sora admitted, now very curious about the meerkat's family. He quickly shook it off, "Anyways, how you guys know all my friends." He then glanced to Billy, "And family of friends... apparently..."
"And one enemy, they did mention Scar too," Pumbaa pointed as the Keyblade Wielder nodded in agreement.
"Well, it's... kinda complicated to explain..." Billy rubbed the back of his head.
"You see... the thing is..." Black Canary stated when all of a sudden Sora's GummiPhone started ringing.
"Oh, so sorry, I gotta take this," Sora quickly apologized as he answered the phone when Oracle's symbol appeared, "Oracle?"
"Oracle?" Both Arrow and Canary repeated recognizing that name. Why did everyone seem so shocked whenever Sora mentioned a friend's name? What did they know her too? What about Riku and Kairi?
"Sora... I made contact with the resistance leader and she's willing to meet with you in the Hall." Oracle's voice responded from the phone, "She's already dispatched a team to come pick up, I just need to know your current location."
Before Sora could answer, Black Canary ran up to the phone, "Oracle! It's Dinah!"
"Canary! You're there too!" Oracle's voice brightened up, "It's good to hear from you! How's Oliver?"
"Hey, not so loud," Green Arrow tried to shush the phone, "Unlike Bruce, some of us still have a secret identity."
"Your name is Oliver?" Billy turned to his in confusion as Arrow looked down in embarrassment.
"We're both fine, Barbra," Dinah confirmed, "We're hanging out in the Queen's building with a group of survivors..."
"Survivors?!" Pumbaa and Timon gasped in horror.
"Survivor," Baymax lifted a finger as he defined the word, "A person who survives, especially a person remaining alive after an event in which others have died."
"We know what survivor means!" The meerkat exclaimed to the robot, "Just what exactly are we surviving from?!"
"Is... some of survivors actors?" Barbra's voice sounded confused, "Because I could have swore I heard the voices' of Pumbaa, Timon, and Baymax."
"Actors?" Sora now asked in confusion.
"It's easier if we explain this one in person," Black Canary admitted, "In fact, you may want to see it in person, because Oliver and I are having a hard time believing it."
"Why would you even want with a twelve year old anyway?" Green Arrow walked up to the Phone.
"I just turned 16!" Sora complained, "And believe it or not I'm trying to save your world from the Heartless and Nobodies."
"Heartless?!" Timon's eyes widened in horror.
"Oh, boy, should have guessed they were involved in this," Simba sighed.
"He's right, so far, he's the only one that can actually defeat all the monsters out there and they stay down," Oracle spoke on Sora's defense, "And he survived encounters with Batman and Green Lantern. He might be our best shot in stopping Brainiac's invasion." She then stated, "I already reported Officer Cash your location, and he's on his way. Oliver, Dinah... if you want to help, get Sora and the other survivors to the Hall of Justice."
"Now hold on..." Green Arrow spoke up in protest.
Dinah shushed him, "We'll do whatever we can to help."
"As will I," Simba declared was he walked up to the group, "I've worked with Sora before against the Heartless and Nobodies. I'm willing to fight beside him any day."
"Good to hear..." Oracle's voice brightened up, "I'm not exactly sure how Sora knows Matthew Broderick or how he can fight against the monsters but we'll take all the help we can get." After a moment of confusion from both Sora and Simba, she concluded, "Anyways, Cash should be there momentarily to bring all of you to the Hall of Justice. He'll have something for Sora so we can stay in contact with needing to use his phone."
"Got it," Sora nodded, "We'll see you soon." With that, the call ended, as he turned to Simba, "Why is everyone acting so weird today?"
"You got me," The lion shrugged.
"Look, I thought we agreed to keep our heads low and help any survivors we could until..." Green Arrow whispered to Black Canary.
She then cut him off, "...until what? The Justice League is either MIA or working for the enemy. Batman and Lantern are killing anyone brave enough to fight back. No one else is coming. If Oracle believes Sora is our best at stopping this, then we need to ensure he stays alive to accomplish it."
"We agreed to always look after the little guy," He then gestured to Billy and Sora, "Like these little guys."
"Hey, we're not little!" Billy complained.
"Yeah, we're serious teenagers," Sora nodded in agreement.
"You two have been good boys," Baymax walked over to them with two treats in his hand, "Have a lollipop."
Both teens frowned in annoyance, as Sora told him, "That... doesn't exactly help out our point, Baymax." Before reluctantly accepting the lollipops, "But thanks."
Billy did the same as he started sucking on his lollipop, as Baymax pointed out, "There are no age limits for one to have a lollipop."
Green Arrow then gestured to healthcare companions, and talking animals behind them, "You can't exactly tell me teaming up with Disney characters to stop alien invasion potentially is within our agreed limits, Pretty Bird."
Sora turned to his friends in confusion, who all shrugged as they were equally confused about all of this. Black Canary then pointed out, "Well, it's either A, we help Sora and the resistance stop the invasion and save our world despite being out of our league, or we let Sora go out on his own while we try to help what few people we can before the world ends because I'm almost certain these people will never make it to the Hall on their own. What do you think?"
Green Arrow paused for a moment before admitting, "I'm thinking..."
"Sora... what exactly is going on with this world?" Simba wondered as the two vigilantes were discussing what to do.
"Well, I used the Power of Waking to save Kairi, but I abused it too much during the war, I ended up trapped in the Final World to do it." Sora proceeded to explain.
Simba nodded in understanding as he was aware of the prior events as he was there to help out when Sora needed him. However, Timon, Pumbaa, and Baymax were in the dark. The meerkat turned to the warthog, "Do you have any idea what they're talking about?"
Pumbaa shrugged as Baymax continued to watch and observe. Sora continued, "Then I ended up meeting Yozora in there."
"Didn't Rex think you were him back on his world," Simba recalled.
"Yeah, turns out he was real," Sora nodded in confirmation, "Then he told me he was there to save me. Then he tried to kill me." Simba's eyes widened in disbelief, "Yeah, I didn't get it either. During a fight, a portal looking like the crack you've seen opened up between us and I used to get out of there and I ended up on this world, but I lost most of my powers in the process."
"As usual," King Simba nodded as he recalled this happening many times before.
"This world is full of heroes but this Brainiac guy, who's controlling the Heartless and Nobodies by making them smarter, somehow managed to control some of this world's greatest heroes..."
"Ah... now you're trying to figure out how to save it and why these cracks are showing up everywhere." Simba now finally understood the problem.
"Yeah, and for some reason, I call Donald, Goofy, or any of the others for help this time," Sora frowned in annoyance, "The GummiPhone isn't allowing me to contact anyone other than Oracle."
"Well, if Donald and Goofy can't help, then I will," Simba smiled, "We've never let each other down before, I not expecting things to change now."
"So, if this Brainiac is controlling the monsters and this place's protectors," Pumbaa wondered, "Why not defeat Brainiac and end this now?"
"Well, Pumbaa," The boy rubbed the back of his head, "Getting to him is a problem..."
"Oh, please, after dealing with Scar and his ghost," Timon gave Sora a reassuring smile, "I am certain there is nothing that can stop you too from kicking his-"
A few moments later, Sora showed the otherworlders Brainiac's ship as Timon's and Pumbaa's jaws hit the ground. Even Simba looked stunned, "And I thought the Elephant Graveyard was creepy."
Timon, after a long moment of silence, finally spoke up again, "Okay... so... maybe if you can get close enough to the giant flying skull, you two could..."
As jet fighters flew past them to Brainaic's ship, as a massive Green Lantern appeared with a minigun in his hand to shoot down the potential threat to Brainiac. Timon turned to Pumbaa, "You think it's too late to return to the crack, it was hard to get out and very empty... but at least nothing was trying to kill us inside..."
Baymax turned to the meerkat, "Yes, the breach in reality sealed itself after you came out thanks to Sora's help..."
"Sorry, guys..." Sora apologized, "If I'd known how to send you back home..."
"There's no need to apologize Sora, it's not your fault," Simba reassured him before stating, "Although... we should come up with a plan before going after Brainiac..."
"Agreed," Sora, Baymax, Timon, and Pumbaa agreed.
Just then, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Billy walked up to join them, as the female of the group stated, "Well, nice to see you're all using your heads instead of charging in without a plan..."
Green Arrow then noticed something in the distance as he asked, "Yo, Disney kid, you said that you last encountered Batman before Baymax joined you, right?"
"Uh... yeah..." Sora glanced at the archer, unsure how to react to that name, "Why?"
Instead of responding, he drew out an arrow and aimed his bow at a building in the distance, "Get down..."
He then fired the arrow as Sora and the others ducked down and turned to see where the arrow was heading. Right before it could hit its target, Batman caught the arrow. Sora's eyes widened as the Dark Knight broke the arrow, and tossed it aside before using a smoke bomb to vanish from sight. Baymax stated, "Oh no..."
"Batman... he followed us..." Billy's eyes widened in horror.
"Which means it won't be long before Brainiac's forces attack," Black Canary's eyes narrowed.
"Okay... staying here is no longer an option..." Oliver declared, not taking his eyes off where Batman vanished, "I vote we all move to the Hall of Justice."
"I second that vote," Pumbaa raised one of his hooves.
"Anywhere's better than here!" Timon also cast his vote.
"I hope Oracle's friends reach us before the Heartless and Nobodies do," Sora stated. Just then, a squad of police cars and a school bus drove up to the side of the Queen's building. Sora blinked, "Guess that's them now."
Just then, exiting from the bus, was a policeman with a hook on his left hand. He glanced at the building, as he called out, "Okay! Sora! Arrow! Canary! If you're still in there, now's the time to move the survivors to the Hall."
"Oh, that's them alright," Arrow nodded.
Dinah turned to the Baymax, "You might want to start... deflating again... so you fit through the door."
"Deflating now..." The balloon-like robot stated as he started deflating again.
Pumbaa, thinking the noise was coming from him, apologized, "Sorry."
"This time, Pumbaa, it wasn't you," Timon reassured the warthog...
A moment later, Sora rushed out to meet with the officer, as he greeted him, "Sora, right? Name's Cash. Oracle sent me."
"Nice to meet you, Cash," Sora greeted the Officer, "The others are on their way... I was told to meet with you first. Green Arrow and Black Canary are escorting the survivors now but we need to move soon. Batman knows we're here."
"Damn," Officer Cash shook his head, "Can't believe we're living in a time where we have to worry about Batman." He then told Sora, "Then there's no time for a proper debrief, we can get you all to the Hall but the monsters haven't been making it easy. We need you, Arrow, and Canary to cover us as we get to the Hall."
"Got it," Sora nodded, "They should be on their way now..."
"Alright, about time we hear some good-" Officer Cash nodded as he noticed the survivors coming as his way. Pumbaa and Timon quickly ran inside the bus as the latter screamed, "Get us out of here!"
Billy ran inside the bus as well as Green Arrow and Black Canary helped Baymax inside the bus as well as the archer told the Officer, "Yeah... we're still having a hard time believing this is happening as well..."
Simba then ran up to Officer as he stated, "I don't think I can fit inside those doors, think you can open the back for me... I'll keep you guys covered from the rear..."
Cash blinked in disbelief as he slowly responded, "I'll... make sure those accommodations are met..."
Simba nodded as he walked towards the end of the school bus. Clearing his throat, he turned to Sora, "Anyway, Oracle wants you to have this." With his remaining hand, he gave Sora an earpiece, "Just place it in your ear, and you two should be able to communicate without you needing to use your phone every second."
"Thanks," Sora took the earpiece as he did as he was instructed.
Green Arrow and Black Canary exited the bus, as the former declared, "Arrowmoblie is in the workshop, but my motorcycle is good to go."
"We'll keep you covered," Canary nodded.
"Appreciate the help," The one-handed Officer nodded, "Now, once I open the emergency exit for a lion that my kids and I watch sometimes on the weekend then we can get going."
Everyone nodded as they went into their positions, and Sora remained clueless as to what Cash was talking about. He did realize the com piece worked like the visors Hiro gave him. He hopped on the bus as he tapped the device, "Oracle?"
"Good, you have the piece," The mystery woman replied through the device, "It's an older model, but it should still work to communicate with each other. You'll also be able to listen in on the enemy communications so you can always plan ahead."
"Nice!" Sora smiled in appreciation, "So, I just need to keep the bus safe until we get to the Hall of Justice."
"That's right," She confirmed, "I'm working on a security protocol that should keep Brainiac's forces out, even Batman... it should be ready by the time you reach the Hall."
"Sounds good," Sora nodded, "Arrow, Canary, Simba, and I will keep everyone safe along the way."
"Wait, did you just say...?" The mysterious woman started to ask before telling him, "Never mind... just focus on the monsters..."
"Got it," Sora nodded as he summoned his Keyblade to his side. He quickly went into his battle stance as he faced the rear of the bus with Simba.
Black Canary drove up beside them as Green Arrow behind her as he told everyone, "Alright... moving day people... let's go!"
"Hold on up there!" Cash called out to Sora as the convoy started moving.
Not long after, Baymax warned Sora, "Please remain cautious, riding on the top of the bus could be hazardous. I'm also scanning Heartless coming this way!"
"Thanks, Baymax!" He called out, "Get ready everyone!"
As Heartless appeared all around them, Sora could hear Batman update Brainiac's army, "The resistance has come upon the anomaly and he has managed to bring allies from where he originated from."
"They going to be a problem," Green Lantern asked the Dark Knight as Sora slashed at the Heartless that leaped upon the convoy. As Simba let out a mighty roar which knocked some of the enhanced Nobodies away, "I can reengage the threat and-"
"Belay that," Batman denied as Green Arrow fired a few arrows taking out a few Heartless within the distance, "His 'allies' won't be much of a threat, merely harmless machinery and animals from childish fiction."
"Fiction?" Sora repeated breifly before turning his attention back to the fight. Cutting down a Nobody, he then lifted his Keyblade in the air as he exclaimed, "Thunder!"
Bolts of lightning, destroyed a small group wiping out a small group of enemies as Green Lantern chuckled, "Childish fiction? You mean, like, Disney?" He could hear the corrupt hero openly laugh, "The Insurgents must be desperate."
"Brainiac has resigned you to search for Wonder Woman. She's the only member of the League fighting a pointless battle to stop him," Batman told the Lantern, "I'm ordering nearby units to deal with the anomaly and the Insurgents. They deal with the minor threats."
Sora's eyes narrowed with determination. So Brainiac didn't see him as a threat, huh? That was going to be his undoing. Sora then casted a fire spell on a Nobody as Green Arrow shot an electric arrow the Heartless next to it. Simba roared as he swiped another Heartless as Timon complained, "Can't we move this thing any faster?!"
"No one likes a backseat driver," Cash called back to the meerkat, "We're nearly there."
"Oh no!" Baymax declared as he noticed an incoming threat towards the front. Sora looked ahead to see many of the Heartless and Nobodies had gone around them to cut them off from the front.
"THEY'RE GOING TO GET US!" Pumbaa exclaimed in horror.
"We need to find another route to the Hall," Another Officer stated.
"No time!" Cash exclaimed, "Black Canary! Can you clear the road?!"
"I'm on it," The female vigilante replied as she drove in front of the Convoy.
"Uh, why is she called Black Canary again?" Timon wondered, "She looks nothing like a-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Canary screamed so loud, all incoming opponents were wiped away from the road while others were knocked flying back. Sora blinked in amazement, "Whoa!"
"I, uh, think it's because of her voice," Pumbaa finally answered Timon's question.
"Of course it's because of the voice, Pumbaa," The meerkat replied, "I knew it the whole time."
After eliminating many of Brainiac's forces, Billy spotted the Hall of Justice, "There it is! Dead ahead!"
After striking down another Heartless, Sora tapped his coms piece, "Oracle, is it ready?"
"Just about," The mystery woman stated, "Say hello to our base of-" She then paused, "Wait, someone tried to leave the access to Justice League's Sanctum in the Hall. Someone's still inside. Sora? Did anyone come with you when you came to our world?"
"No, I came alone," Sora sadly admitted before asking, "You think this could be a trap?"
"Possibly, Batman might not see you as a threat yet, but it's possible he isn't taking any chances," Oracle admitted, "Neither should we. I'm going to get a look inside, but it's going to be a minute. So, I need you to take Black Canary and Green Arrow to take a quick look around and determine if the Hall of Justice is safe for the resistance or not."
"No problem," Sora reassured her, "I know a way in were we might be able to get the drop on 'em. I'll update you when it's safe to come in."
As the convoy stopped, everyone exited their vehicles, as Cash called out, "Alright, let's get our people inside!"
"Wait!" Sora exclaimed getting everyone's attention, "Oracle thinks there someone inside! She thinks it could be a trap!"
"You mean someone's going to hunt us and eat me like a pig!" Pumbaa shivered in fear.
"More likely try to turn you into one of those monsters," Cash glanced to the warthog before back to Sora, "Well, then we can't send everyone in, not if it might be an ambush."
"I'll check things out ahead and make sure it's not a trap," Sora reassured the group.
"Just in case it's Batman," Green Arrow hopped off the motorcycle, "We'll come too."
"We'll have a better chance against him together," Black Canary nodded in agreement.
"Just as well, I'm nowhere near my full strength," The teen nodded in apperception, before turning to the lion, "Simba, you think you can watch after the others."
"No problem," Simba reassured him, "But if this Batman is more than you can handle, let out a shout and we'll come back you up!"
"And by that you mean, you and the humans right?" Timon asked the King of Pride Rock as Baymax exited the bus and started to inflate himself again.
"If it is a trap, then it's for the best we don't go through the front doors," Green Arrow gestured to the way in.
"I actually came to this world through the Hall," Sora reassured the group, "I know another way in on the roof."
"Then that's where we'll go," Canary's eyes narrowed with determination.
Drawing out a grappling arrow, Arrow fired it at the roof before pulling himself and his partner up. Sora used the key chain on his Keyblade to do the same. He then pointed to the cracked door, "That's how I got out."
Green Arrow went in first, with an arrow drawn. Once he saw it was clear, he gestured for Black Canary and Sora to follow him. As they quietly entered the Hall, Sora apologized, "Sorry for not properly introducing myself and dragging you two into this. I'm Sora by the way."
"It's alright. I'm Black Canary," She whispered back as she introduced herself before gesturing to the archer, "That's Green Arrow." He nodded to Sora as she apologized, "Sorry for not taking you more seriously. You were actually doing alright back there."
"How long have you been doing this again?" Green Arrow asked him.
"Over two years now," He answered.
Oliver whistled quietly to himself, "Certain explains how you managed to survive being one day out there."
"You said that you were nowhere near your full strength," The blonde woman glanced at the teen, "Why is that?"
"It's a bit of a long story, I misused my powers to save one of my best friends," Sora recalled, "I don't regret it but it did banish me from my home. Afterward, I got into a fight with someone in the world I was trapped in when the crack opened between us, and I used it to escape but it did drain me from most of my powers. I've been slowly regaining them, but it's going to be a bit before I get back to full strength."
"Let's hope you get to that point before Brainiac sicks Superman on us," Oliver whispered back before nimbly running downstairs before adding, "And that it will be enough."
He then peeked down to the Hall below which seemed untouched. Black Canary whispered, "You think he's there?"
"Not sure," Green Arrow admitted, "I hate to say it, but we need to get closer."
"Isn't an open area with no cover," Dinah pointed out, "Even if he didn't have his cowl, he'd see us clear as day."
"It's the only way, we'll know for sure," Green Arrow pointed out, "Besides, we'd have a better chance than the cops outside."
"Alright," Sora nodded, "Let's do this."
As the group of three, leaped down to the ground floor, they stood back to back. Keeping an eye out on all of their surroundings. Sora then noticed something near the entrance of the Sanctum, "Another one?"
Canary then glanced to the crack as she commented, "Seems a little different from the other one we saw. They were purple. That one is blue."
Sure enough, she was right. The other ones he had seen were purple to. The one he saw while chasing Flash, the one that held Baymax, and the one that held his friends from the Pridelands. This one was definitely different. But how? What did it mean?
"Forget it for now," Green Arrow told the group, "We've got other matters to worry about." After a moment, he stated, "Okay, whoever is trying to ambush us, isn't Batman."
"How can you tell?" Sora whispered.
"For one, Bruce likes working in the dark, harder to see him that way, easier to spook ya," The Archer stated as he glanced to the open windows, "He would've ensured that the windows are closed and the lights off if we were dealing with him."
Sora recalled his fight with Batman in the museum. That sounded exactly how he fought him during the museum. Green Arrow continued, "Since none of us are seeing their worst nightmares come to life means he's not using the fear toxin either. So, that's a plus."
"To be fair, love," Canary turned to Arrow, "Batman never needed it before. And he's just as dangerous in hand to hand combat."
Sora blinked. Fear toxin? That didn't sound good. Guess he should be grateful he hadn't used it on him in the museum. Arrow then stated, "There's one more thing that I know it's not Bruce."
"What's that?" Sora wondered aloud.
"I see our intruder," Oliver's eyes narrowed as he fired an arrow. Threw an hologram of Superman, which was immediately cut in half. Stepping out from behind the hologram, was the same opponent Sora had faced in the Final World.
"Yozora?!" Sora blinked in disbelief as the figure walked closer to the group with his futuristic blade in one hand and his crossbow in another.
"You know him?" Canary glanced to the teen.
"Remember how I said I was fighting a guy in the world I was trapped on," The teen reminded her as he nodded towards the sliver head.
"Ah, I see," Black Canary tightened her fists, "He must have followed you here."
Yozora continued to walk forward, as he told them, "I have no intention to harm you two. My business is with Sora."
"What business is that?" Green Arrow asked as he kept his bow on the intruder.
"None of your concern," He answered as he finally came to a stop, "Now back off."
"Well, we're dealing with a brainwashed Justice League and an army of alien hybrid monsters and Sora said he was willing to help," Canary stated, "So, unless you're here to do the same, I suggest you go back where you come from."
In response, Yozora raised his crossbow at them, "Last chance, walk away."
"Funny, we were about to say the same thing to you," Dinah narrowed her eyes before charging at him. Yozora, taken back by her rushed attack quickly moved on the defensive avoiding every punch and kick she threw at him.
He then vanished from her sight, then reappeared behind her forcing to go one the defensive. Avoiding all of his strikes before he vanished again. His futuristic sword appeared alone and try to strike her. Sora then spotted the actual opponent floating to his right, "He's over there!"
"I see him!" Green Arrow declared before firing a boxing glove arrow which struck him in the face, stopping the attack.
As protagonist from Verum Rex recovered, he asked, "Did you really put a boxing glove on the end of your arrow?"
"Yeah, one of the old favs." Green Arrow smirked before drawing out another arrow, "Now back off, I've got many other trick arrows that'll hurt way worse than that one!"
Instead of doing what he suggested, he vanished again before reappearing mid-air and fired red and blue lasers at the group of heroes. Everyone was forced to dodge the attacks as Sora found some cover, he could hear Oracle speak in his ear, "Sora, were you able to identify the intruder?"
"Yeah, it's a guy I was fighting before coming here," Sora replied as the laser hit the cover he was hiding under, "Says he wants to save me, but he's trying to kill us."
"Great, that last thing we needed. Someone who belongs in Arkham," Oracle sighed to herself, "Is he dangerous."
"OLLIE!" He heard Dinah scream in worry. He took a peek to see that Green Arrow was currently in a pyramid which exploded knocking him back. Black Canary screamed in anger which pushed the video game character back.
"Yes, and I was stronger when I last faced him but now..." Sora told the mystery woman.
"...you might not be able to stop him," Oracle finished, "Don't worry. I'm sending someone who can. You just need to stall him."
"I'll see what I can do!" Sora told her as he glanced to the crack. Before back to his Keyblade, as he silently prayed, "Please let it be something that can help."
Sora leaped out from his hiding spot and plunged the Keyblade into the crack which seemed to drain something from into and enter him. The teenager's eyes widened, "Okay, that's new!"
"Incoming!" He heard Diana scream. He turned just in time for her to crash right into him.
Yozora then charged his way towards them as Arrow began to recover. Sora swung his Keyblade at Yozora as massive green flames shot out of it, knocking their opponent back. Sora blinked in shock. That was definitely new. He could control fire before but not to this extent. Or this color either.
It wasn't darkness either. So what was it?
Regardless, it did distract Yozora for Green Arrow to get another shot in. When the arrow struck, it tased the protagonist from Verum Rex...
"Oracle said you were able to find him, is he still with you?"
"Yeah, he's helping Green Arrow and Black Canary dealing with a potential threat inside the Hall of Justice," Cash replied to the leader of the resistance on the radio, "I've kept everyone else out just to be safe."
"Shit!" The leader cursed as she muttered to herself, "Nothing better happen to him." She then told the former secretary guard from Arkham, "We're almost there. Maybe we can turn the tide and take back the Hall."
Cash saw someone flying their way, "Actually, we may have some backup."
Just as then Wonder Woman landed just outside the Hall, as she ran up the stairs. Timon muttered to herself, "Who's the lady?"
"I hope she's on our side," Pumbaa stated, recalling Sora's conversation with Simba earlier.
Billy's eyes widened in awe, "Wonder Woman..."
The healthcare companion waved to her, "Hello. I am Baymax. Your personal healthcare companion."
"Thanks, but I'm fine," She reassured the machine before turning back to Cash, "Officer Cash."
"Wonder Woman," The officer smiled, "It's good to know we have at least one member of the League still on our side."
"Oracle mentioned that you found the one called Sora," She told him, "Someone who knows what we're up against. Where is he?"
"As I was just telling Lane, he went inside with Green Arrow and Black Canary to ensure whoever inside isn't laying a trap inside," The man with a hook gestured to the Hall.
"Batman?" She asked in concern.
"Maybe. We're still unsure," He admitted.
"Diana!" Oracle screamed Diana's ear, "Someone's giving Sora and the others a hard time! If we lose him..."
The Princess of the Amazons's eyes widened horror before narrowing her eyes, "We won't! Brainiac's taken enough already!"
Everyone noticed the green flames from the windows, Simba realized, "Sora's in trouble, isn't he?" She turned to the talking lion in shock, he continued, "We have to save him!"
As both an Amazon and member of the Justice League, Diana had seen a lot in her life. A talking lion was definitely up there in the strangest things she ever saw. However, she put those thoughts on hold as she nodded in agreement, "We will!"
She then ran into the Hall as the scans instantly identified her and allowed her inside. Simba quickly followed her inside before the doors closed...
Meanwhile, Black Canary, who was barely standing, let out another scream pushing Yozora back before he teleported away. Arrow, who had his hood torn back during the fight, pulled the string of his bow back as he muttered, "Man, the guy just won't stay down."
He then reappeared behind Sora as he aimed his crossbow at the teen. Arrow turned his aim at the opponent as he told Keyblade's chosen one, "Get down!"
Sora complied as the archer was about to fire his arrows when Yozora fired a powerful tractor beam to pull him in. Once close enough, all of his Arrows came to Yozora's possession. In order to free him from Yozora's trap, Sora blasted him away with another wave of green fire.
Once their opponent pulled back, Arrow reached back to grab another arrow, only to find there were none in his quiver. He looked back at his opponent, to see him load on of trick arrows in his crossbow. "You son of a... he stole my arrows!"
He then aimed one at Arrow before firing one, as Canary leaped in, "Ollie! Move!"
Just as she was about to push him out of the way, the arrow launched a net which caught them both. Oliver groaned, "Caught in my own net. How ironic."
"Stop complaining and help me get us free," Dinah told the archer as the two struggled to get free.
As Yozora loaded another arrow, Sora charged at him, Keyblade in hand, "Leave them alone!"
"Kid! He's got my arrows! Move!" Green Arrow warned the Keyblade Wielder.
However, Yozora fired one of the trick arrows at Sora. He swung his Keyblade to deflect the shot but it exploded on impact and sent him flying. He hit the wall causing him to start to lose consciousness. The video game protagonist slowly walked up to him, "Sorry, but I don't lose."
Sora tried to get up but he was too weak. Dinah tried to get his attention, "Leave the kid alone! Face us!"
Switching his gun to his regular setting he aimed it at Sora, "This will be over soon."
"NO!"
Just as he pulled the trigger, a newcomer leaped in front of him and defected each of the shots with her gantlets...
Wonder Woman's eyes narrowed with anger. Another second and she would have been too late. Stunned by her sudden appearance, he tried to switch his lasers to blue, when he heard a mighty roar. His eyes widened as a lion pounced at him.
He was forced to pull back to avoid his claws. She used this distraction to draw out her sword and throw it at Yozora's crossbow, pinning it to the wall. Turning his attention back to Wonder Woman, he saw her charging at him. Swinging his blade, she leaped over the attack and kicked from behind.
The lion pinned him to the ground, preventing him from getting back up. She told the lion, "It's alright. I've got him. Can you free Arrow and Canary?"
Simba turned to the duo, struggling to get free, he nodded, "Hold on. I'll get them out."
He ran over to them as Diana wrapped her golden lasso around Sora's attacker and pulled him towards her. Simba grabbed the net with his mouth and tore it so their fallen allies would be free. He then asked them, "Are you alright?"
"We'll be alright," Dinah reassured the lion as she and Oliver struggled to get back up.
The latter marched up to the attack and took his arrows back, "I believe these are mine."
"Who are you?!" Diana demanded as the magic of the lasso took effect on its captive, "Speak! The lasso compels you!"
As he struggled to get free of the Lasso of Truth, he complied to her command, "Y-Yozora!"
"Why did you attack that boy?!" Wonder Woman demanded as she tightened her grip on the lasso, "Who sent you?!"
"I-I-I appeared in the same world he did accidentally and went through some trials." He confessed as he was forced to answer her question, "Then, I was told to save Sora."
"Oh, that is bull!" Arrow snapped pointing an accusing finger at him, "If it wasn't for her, you would have killed him!"
"Perhaps, 'save him' has a double meaning..." The Princess of the Amazons thought aloud without taking her eyes off of him. Pulling him closer, she made him face her, "HIS NAME! WHAT IS IT?! WAS IT BRAINIAC?!"
"I don't know!" He admitted as he was puzzled why he was telling her all of this, "He never mentioned a name and I couldn't see his face underneath that black coat of his!"
"A third party?" Black Canary limped over to Green Arrow and Wonder Woman in concern, "That's not good."
"I hate to admit it, but we have our hands full with Brainiac as it is," Oliver pointed out, "And we can't exactly drop him off at Arkham, Blackgate, or Belle Reve at the moment. Not with an alien invasion literally over our heads."
Diana sighed, knowing what he said was true. There was no way they could safely hold him until the invasion ended, and they couldn't exactly go after his master either. So, she did the one thing she could do. Releasing him from the Lasso of Truth, she then held him by the shirt, "Return to your master! Tell him if he comes after this boy again, either through you or someone else... the Justice League will come for you!"
She then released him and removed her sword allowing his crossbow to fall to the ground. Picking up his fallen weapons, he seemed conflicted when he heard the sounds of loaded guns as Cash's voice stated, "I'd listen to the lady if I were you."
He turned to see the police and additional resistant fighters aiming the guns at him. Simba growled as he stood by their side along with Pumbaa and Timon, who glared at him as well. Yozora sighed, "Fine..." He turned to walk past the resistance fighters, "But you're making a big mistake."
Diana's glare remained on him even as he left as Timon exclaimed, "And stay out!" He then looked down at Pumbaa, "I'm telling ya, Pumbaa. He's lucky we didn't show up for messing with our friend, causing if we were there... we'd release our secret weapon..."
"What's that?" Pumbaa wondered.
"Uh..." Billy raised his finger sightly concerned as Baymax walked past him, "It doesn't have anything to do with Pumbaa's...?"
"Seriously, kid," The meerkat glanced at the orphan, "I don't know how you know all this information!"
Just then, another woman ran past them, "Diana."
The Amazon warrior turned to her and smiled in recognition, "Lois! I heard rumors that you were leading the fight against Brainiac! I'm glad the rumors were true!"
Lois Lane, a reporter for the Daily Planet, and as of three weeks ago, leader of the resistance smiled back at the Amazon, "Pays to be a military brat, and that my dad managed to pull a few strings to get the President to agree to let me lead this operation."
"Speaking of, how are you the leader of the resistance?" Oliver wondered as Baymax stared at him, scanning for injuries, "Shouldn't it be someone more qualified."
"Well, my sources told me the US government was going to turn to Amanda Waller and A.R.G.U.S.," The reporter pointed out, "But Batman had already hunted down and killed everyone involved with the agency. Anyone else failed to even get inside Metropolis alive."
"And to think, she was considering of recruiting me and several inmates from Arkham," Cash muttered, "Really glad that didn't happen..."
"Wait, was her whole plan to recruit supervillains from Arkham to fight the League?" Green Arrow asked him as Baymax started bandaging him.
"Like that would ever work, they couldn't even beat them when they weren't killing," Canary pointed out as the Healthcare Companion turned to her as another bandaid, popped out of his finger.
"Now then, where is Sora, I've heard some much about?" The leader of the resistance asked the other heroes. She then quickly added, "I have so many questions about how the characters from Disney films are here right now..."
Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa looked puzzled as Diana turned to the boy in concern before her eyes widened at the knocked-out teenager's weapon laying beside him. She whispered in disbelief, "By the gods..."
She quickly rushed to Sora's side, as Canary told Baymax, "Worry about me later, help Sora... he needs you more..."
The Healthcare Companion turned to the downed Keyblade Wielder as he walked up to him as the two women came to his side. Lois asked, "Is he alright?"
"I will scan him," Baymax declared as he scanned the teenager, "Scan complete. Sora's natural and unique durability has prevented major injuries but the blow he sustained to his head has caused a mild concussion. We should take caution and not move him until we can fully stabilize his head."
"Thank God," Lois sighed in relief. She then turned to another resistance fighter, "Jimmy, get our medics here and help Baymax with whatever he needs to get this kid back on his feet pronto."
"No problem, Miss Lane," The former photographer for the planet smiled before correcting himself, "I'm sorry, I meant, Commander Lane." He then smacked his lisps, "That felt weird to say."
He then rushed out to carry out the orders as a red head woman in a wheel chair rolled in, "Strange times were in." She then glanced to the animals in shock, "Wow! Sora wasn't kidding. Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa are here..."
"...and the strange woman with the wheelie thingy knows us too," Timon groaned, "At this point, I'd be okay if a random human didn't know my name."
"That voice...," Simba recalled the woman's voice, "You must be Oracle."
"That's right... I felt the security in the Hall needed a more personal touch," She smiled to the King of Pride Rock, she then turned to Sora in concern, "And the kid by the real Baymax must Sora. Is he okay?"
"He'll live. Considering what he knows, we'll make sure of it," Lois reassured her before turning to Wonder Woman, who picked up Sora's fallen weapon, as if she was holding an ancient relic, "What is it?"
"I've heard the stories from my mother and my sisters... but..." The Princess of the Amazons held the Keyblade in awe, "But I never thought I'd ever see one..."
The Keyblade then vanished in her hands, Lois turned to her, "Care for an explanation why your interested in a kid's over sized key?"
"It's called the Keyblade," Wonder Woman answered as she turned to Sora, "And if the stories are true... then his presence here... he might just be the key to saving our world..."
Everyone, minus Simba, turned to her curious of what she knows before back to Sora to ponder...
What made this boy so special?
Crazy roller coaster of a chapter right? We've got Billy Batson, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Aaron Cash, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa introduced! All in the same chapter. More familiar faces to come as we see in the preview for the next chapter!
As Sora regains consciousness, he comes face to face with the resistance. And finally meets another member of the League that isn't trying to kill him. However, how does she know about the Keyblade? Will the others believe Sora about the dangers of the Heartless? How will Sora react that the majority of his friends are fiction in this universe? And what is Brainiac up too? Stay tuned!
