Chapter 46:
Baile on Me
Location: Route 16
With the Zygarde Cube handed over to Dexio and Sina, it was time to continue to Po Town to teach Team Skull a lesson.
"Everything is going great!" I said. "But we still don't know who the Kahuna is yet."
"Good thingzz comezz to thozze who wait! Roto."
I smiled. "You're right Rotom. Okay, onwards! Through the Ula'ula Meadow!"
Location: Ula'ula Meadow
All the flowers in Ula'ula Meadow were red. As such, I was expecting to see a new Oricorio form.
"So pretty," I said.
"I know. Roto. Except if you have allergiezz."
Along the wooden pallets, we saw Faba. He noticed us. "Ah, if it isn't you!" he said.
"Oh… hey…" I said, shaking a bit.
"What's wrong?" he asked. "Where are you going?"
"To Po Town," I replied. "I want to… take back a Pokémon that Team Skull stole."
"Isn't that interesting," Faba said. "I'm here studying Oricorio. Look, that's them." Faba pointed out to the red flower field, where Oricorio with red dress-like feathers were dancing.
Oricorio (オドリドリ)
#097
Fire/Flying Type (Baile Style)
Dancing Pokémon
2'00" (0.6 m)
7.5 lbs (3.4 kg)
This Oricorio has drunk red nectar. If its Trainer gives the wrong order, this passionate Pokémon becomes fiercely angry.
Oricorio has no known evolutions, but changes form based on what nectar it has sipped.
"Not one I want to mezz with. Roto."
Just then, we saw a Trainer walk over with an Oricorio of his own. This was the Pom Pom Style, found on Melemele Island.
"We're about to see it in action!" I said.
"Let's find you a nice flower," the Trainer said. "How about that one?" He pointed to probably the largest flower of the bunch. "I'll be back."
Before I could question why he didn't just pick the nearest one, he was off. He went into the flowers and ran to the largest one. He gave it a yank and learned the hard way that it wasn't just a flower. It was a Pokémon clinging onto it.
Floette (フラエッテ)
#101
Fairy Type
Single Bloom Pokémon
0'08" (0.2 m)
2 lbs (0.9 kg)
It raises flowers and uses them as weapons. The more gorgeous the blossom, the more power it contains.
Flabébé -Lv 19- Floette
Understandably, Floette wasn't happy. It started firing petals at the Trainer.
"It'zz uzzing Petal Blizzzzard! Roto!"
"I choose Incineroar!" I shouted, sending out my Fire Type. "Jump into the Petal Blizzard and save the Trainer!"
Incineroar jumped in front of the attack. Being a Fire Type, Incineroar didn't take much damage. It grabbed the Trainer and brought him to safety.
"Are you okay?" I asked, brushing the petals off of him.
"Fine," he said. "Sorry Floette!" Floette grumpily floated off.
"There are how many flowers here?" I asked. "Prettiest doesn't always mean the best, okay?" As I saw Floette fly away, I noticed a hole in the trees. "Hey Faba, if you check if he's alright, mind if I take a wander through there?"
"Be my guest!" Faba replied.
"Great!" I said, recalling Incineroar. "Come on Rot!"
"Do not call me that. Roto."
Location: ?
I walked through the trees to find a lake with what looked like ruins. There were pedestals with what looked like the sun on them.
"What is this?" I asked. It wasn't exactly hidden, so I couldn't have been the first to discover it. I looked around and found a pattern on the floor. "Hey, this could mean som-" I figured out what the shape was straight away. It was round and fluffy…
It was Nebby! Or Cosmog! And next to it, were two figures. One with large wings that made it look like the moon, the other with four legs with a man that was pointed just like the sun.
"So, you found it?" I thought I was the only one there, but I wasn't. The Ultra Recon Squad appeared before me.
"You know this place?" I asked.
"Yes," said Dulce. "Because… this is where we come from."
"What do you mean? Roto?"
Phyco looked around and stood above another figure. This was blank and chunky looking. "This is the Lake of the Sunne. An Ultra Wormhole appeared here, and we went through. This is where we ended up. You see, where we come from, there is no light. It was… taken away from us."
"Yeah!" said Zossie. "By a Pokémon that is large and black and very cool!"
"Not the words," said Soliera. "We couldn't do anything. We had to escape whilst everyone else lives in darkness. Every so often, we come back here, hoping for the Ultra Wormhole to take us back to…. Ultra Megalopolis."
"Ultra Megalopolizz? Roto?"
Captain Phyco nodded. "Which is why we were taken in by the Aether Foundation. They are helping us return home so we can take back the light."
"Oh," I said. "Well, once I've finished my trials, count me in!"
"Really?" they all said.
"Yeah! I'm not sure how we'll do it, but we will work together to get you guys' home and take back the light!"
"Horray!" said Zossie. "We're going home!"
"Not so fast," said Dulce. "Th young man hasn't promised anything, and he is busy with his own dreams at the moment, but we will appreciate any help we can get."
I nodded. "Okay, I gotta get to Po Town. A kid had his Pokémon stolen."
"Thank you," said Captain Dulce. "We appreciate your help but don't let it interrupt your journey."
Location: Ula'ula Meadow
"Everything is good!" said Faba. "The Trainer is fine!"
"Great!" I replied. "Okay, I better head to Po Town. Need to teach Team Skull a lesson."
"Good luck," he replied.
Immediately, I walked away. The last thing I wanted was the Aether Foundation getting into my affairs. I was a bit worried; did Faba know about the Lake to? Because if those figures mean anything, potentially there might be more to Nebby than I thought…
Location: Route 17
The main thing to note about Route 17; it was raining. Quite hard in fact. Many Pokémon seemed to like it though, including the Goomy, very cute purple Pokémon that looked slimy to touch.
Goomy (ヌメラ)
#217
Dragon Type
Soft Tissue Pokémon
1'00" (0.3 m)
6.2 lbs (2.8 kg)
The weakest of all Dragon Type Pokémon, it's unable to breath if its skin dries out, so it sticks to shady places.
We were standing outside what looked like a small police station, shown by the yellow star on the blue banner.
"At leazzt I'm rain proof. Roto."
"Yeah," I replied. "Still though, we should give Team Skull a good butt-kicking tomorrow."
"Butt kickin? Not gonna happen yo!"
Immediately, a Team Skull Grunt came over to me. "Figured you guys would be hanging around here," I said.
"Figured you wouldn't leave us alone yo! Not gonna happen!"
Elliott Vs. Team Skull Grunt
"Golbat, go!" shouted the Grunt, sending out a Flying Type.
"I choose Misdreavus!" I replied.
"Golbat, Air Cutter!" Golbat fired streaks of air at Misdrevaus.
"You okay?" I asked as Misdreavus started surrounding itself with black energy.
"I think it'zz learning Payback! Roto! It doezz more damage if the uzzer wazz hit thizz turn!"
"Great!" I replied. "Payback!" Misdrevaus charged into Golbat. It wasn't mega powerful though considering that Misdreavus was a Special Attack focused Pokémon.
"Now use Air Cutter again!" Golbat fired more streaks, but Misdreavus dodged.
"Now use Psybeam!" Misdreavus fired a pink beam at Golbat for Super Effective damage. Additionally, Golbat was confused! "Great job!"
"Cut it out! Air Cutter!" Instead, Golbat hurt itself and knocked itself out.
"Stupid confusion!"
"Grr… Guzma won't like this," the Grunt said.
"Hey, what are you doing?" From the Police Station came a man, probably mid 50s, wearing black police uniform. He had greying hair and looked very undetermined.
"Eep. I gotta get outta here!" The Grunt ran off.
"He didn't even do anything. Roto."
"Oh," I said. "Hey, thanks!"
"A thank you would not be bothering me," he replied, walking back to his Shack (which I will call it from here on out).
"Excuse me," I said. "You just sort of turned up and he ran off."
"Hey, you beat him. You did the hard work. Now scram. This isn't a theme park."
I stood in front of the door to the Police Shack, blocking his way. "Now hold on a minute, what is it with you? You just turn up, don't accept my thank you and then leave? And for your information, I'm not here to play. I'm here to retrieve a Pokémon." I got out my Alola Passport. "Look at this. I was called upon Tapu Koko to take on the Trials of Alola and I've conquered half of them. Heck, I'm looking for Ula'ula's Kahuna as we speak!"
The Officer looked at my passport. "Huh. I guess that is impressive. I'll let you stay out of the rain, but just for tonight if you want to take down Team Skull tomorrow."
"Huh," I said. "Thanks. Is there a catch?"
"There is if you are allergic to Meowth," he replied.
"Allergic?" I asked. "I'm not! We have one back at my place! It can't be that… bad…" I opened the door to see lots of Alolan Meowth everywhere. On the table, the sofa, everywhere.
"You're sleeping on the couch," he said.
"Thanks?" I said. "Hold on, what's your name?"
"Nanu," he replied. "No more questions. There is a glass of Moomoo Milk and some Malasadas in the fridge, and you can use the TV to watch anime or whatever you kids like nowadays. Now I have some work to do so leave me alone." With that, he walked through a door.
"What is up with him?" I asked. "Well, at least we can sleep out the rain. Don't want to catch a cold for tomorrow!"
