They'll be Battling at the Mountain

Location: Tapu Village

Well, it was time. The Pokémon League was waiting, and I wanted to spend today doing some last minute training before the ascent tomorrow. Yes, I said that I would be starting today, but no. This was big stuff. Plus, I was putting those Mantine Surf points to good use. Case in point?

"Okay Mismagius, one more time! Use Shock Wave!" Mismagius fired blue electricity at a rock, smashing it to pieces.

"Zzt! Good thinking! Shock Wave izz a move that never mizzezz!"

"And now you Slowbro!" I told it. "Let's use Ice Punch!" Slowbro's hand went cold, and it punched a palm tree. Berries fell down from it. "Great everyone!"

"Excuse me?" Nurse Joy came out of the Pokémon Center. "I had a message from someone to meet you on the base of the mountain. Would you be fine to do that?"

"Sure!" I said. "But… who?" I looked at the entrance to the mountain. "Well, let's find out."

Location: Mt. Lanakila

I walked up to the area which was already snowing (or hailing in battling terms).

"Who are we meeting then?" I asked Rotom Dex.

"Hey, I didn't send the note! Roto!"

"It's me." In front of the elevator that would take us up the mountain… was Gladion.

"Hey!" I said.

"I… just wanted to thank you for stopping mother. I can't say she deserved it… but madness truly leads people into situations like that."

"We did what we had to do," I said. "If you ever need to talk…"

"I'm sorry," he said. "I can't consider you a friend. But… I do have respect for you. Plus, for my actions, I had a visit by a certain Pokémon." Gladion held up his right arm, revealing a Z-Ring.

"Wow!" I said. "So… you want to test it out?"

"I do," he replied. "There is another reason I want to thank you, but I want to show you in battle!"

Elliott Vs. Gladion

"Go Weavile!" Gladion shouted. Out came a black Pokémon with red feathers on its head as well as sharp claws on its hands.

They travel in groups of four or five, leaving signs for one another on trees and rocks. They bring down their prey with coordinated attacks.

"And I'll use Hariyama!" I shouted. Hail started falling, meaning that all non-Ice Types would take a bit of damage each turn.

"Use Aerial Ace!" Weavile dove into Hariyama, doing Super Effective damage to it.

"Now use Close Combat!" Hariyama punched Weavile multiple times, defeating it in one go.

"Impressive. Go Crobat!" Next up was a pink Pokémon with four wings.

I recalled Hariyama; Crobat was the last thing I wanted it facing. "Go Slowbro!" I shouted.

"Use Leech Life!" Crobat bit down on Slowbro, draining some of its vitality.

"Come back with Ice Punch!" Slowbro punched Crobat with its cold hand. Upon doing this, Crobat was frozen! It couldn't move! "Now use Psychic!" Slowbro blew Crobat away with Psychic power, knocking it out.

"Okay then. Go Lucario!"

"Weird. Roto. It'zz not being regizztered."

"Doesn't matter," I said. "We've got this!"

"Night Daze!" Lucario sent out a burst of dark energy. The Critical Hit knocked out Slowbro in one.

"I know what's going on. Go Hariyama!" I shouted.

"Hyper Voice!" Lucario let out a loud shout. The shockwave hit Hariyama.

"Close Combat!" Hariyama punched Lucario a few times. It knocked it out, revealing it to be a Zoroark.

"Urgh. Clever. Okay Lucario, time for the real deal!" An actual Lucario was sent out.

"Let us show you our Z-power!" Gladio and Lucario put their arms out. "No, I am not doing some weird tagline. CORKSCREW CRASH!" Gladion and Lucario bumped their knuckles together, then put their hands out again. Lucario then span round, showing a grey drill. It then rammed itself into Hariyama. It was finished in one.

"Hariyama!" I shouted. "Looks like you've already mastered Z-Moves!" I recalled Hariyama. "But I have my own tricks. Go Incineroar!" My Fire Type came out.

"Lucario, Aura Sphere!" Lucario made a blue ball within its palms then fired it at Incineroar for Super Effective damage.

"Don't give up!" I told Incineroar. I noticed heat radiating off of it. "Wait… could that be?" Suddenly, fire surrounded Incineroar. "I think… I think that's Flare Blitz!" Incineroar charged its body into Lucario. It demolished it at once. "Alright Incineroar! You learned Flare Blitz!" Incineroar however had to take some damage.

"Be careful. Roto. Flare Blitzzz izz strong, but it alzzo doezz recoil to Incineroar." The falling Hail didn't help.

"Now to thank you for one last thing. Go Silvally!" Out came…

"Is that… Type: Null?" I asked. The body was there, but the mask was gone, revealing a Pokémon with white feathers that had some blue on it.

"Tell me more later!" I said. "We have a battle to win!"

"I don't think so! Silvally, Multi Attack!" Silvally suddenly shot a blue beam at Incineroar. It was a Super Effective hit. Incineroar fainted.

"No!" I shouted. "What was that?"

"It'zz a move that changezz Type bazzed on whatever… Drivezz? Silvally izz holding! Roto!"

I saw the image in the Dex was a bit different to Gladion's. The Dex showed white feathers, whilst Gladion was blue. "I wonder…" I said. "Mismagius, go!" It was time for a new Z-Move.

"Use Crunch!" Silvally chomped down on Mismagius for Super Effective damage.

"Now let's do this!" I said. I put my arms out in front. "Let's give Silvally a shocking new move! Mismagius, GIGAVOLT HAVOC!" Mismagius fired a bolt at Silvally. It hit, leading to an explosion of electricity. Silvally took a lot of damage.

"Use Crunch again!" Silvally used one more Dark Type move, fainting Mismagius.

"Now I choose Lunala!" I shouted. "Use Moongeist Beam!" Lunala fired a beam at Silvally, knocking it out.

"Urgh. Yes, I can see why you've come this far now."

Gladion sighed. "Thank you, Elliott." He then looked at Silvally's Pokéball. "Faba wanted to create a Pokémon that could be comparable to Arceus, so he made Silvally out of various parts. As a counterpart to Plates, he also made Drives that can be inserted into Silvally's slot on the side of its face, changing not only its Type, but also the Type of Multi Attack. However, without the right Trainer, Silvally was too strong. So, the mask was put on and it was called Type: Null. Seeing this, I stole Type: Null and took it on a journey, where, thanks to you, its power was controlled." For the first time, I saw Gladion smile. "Thank you again Elliott."

"What are you going to do now?" I asked.

"I'm going to train around the world," he said. "I'm going to Kanto with Lillie soon. I have a lot to learn. As for you… I wish you luck." I expected him to leave, but his face went serious again. "Oh… and one more thing.

"What?" I said.

"It's Faba. I think… his next plan might be coming into fruition."

"What… do you mean?" I asked.

"If I tell you, it would only cause you to worry. Just try and become Champion, but also be prepared for Faba's return." Then, he walked off.

"Oh," I said.

"Hey, don't worry for now! Roto! Let'zz focuzz on your title!"

"You're right!" I said. "Tomorrow, it's Mountain time!"

Rotom's Move Dex!

Roto! Gladion got a Z-Ring! He uzzed the Steel Type Z Move, so let'zz look at a Steel Type attack!

Bullet Punch!

Steel Typezz are known to be defenzzive, but they can alzzo be a bit slow. Roto. Enter Bullet Punch, a move that hitzz firzzt! It'zz only got a power of 40, so it can be very uzzeful for a final quick blow! Zzt zzt!

Pokémon that can learn Bullet Punch include Scizor, Metagross and Pangoro!
