Man I shouldn't have stayed up that late...

I stretched my sore body as I woke up at the ripe time of 9 am. Aizawa has been left. Figures, I suppose.

Alright. What to do- oh a letter!

I staggered over towards the kitchen table, a letter addressed to me sitting on it. Aizawa must've put it inside when he left.

I tear through it and see... Well damn.

It was a check, pretty much my earnings I earned from all my actions and the raid. Not bad...

And it was also requesting the paperwork of said raid... I should probably get started on that...

How annoying.

I venture into the bathroom to do my daily stuff, taking a glance at the mirror in front of me.

(A/N: Art is on Wattpad. I dunno where else to put it)

Yep, that's me alright. Talk about patchwork...

Brush my teeth, tame my hair, check the prosthesis, you know the deal.

Wait, speaking of prosthesis...

~~~~~
"Yes... Do I gotta pay for it? Aizawa, you gotta help me out here... Uh huh... Okay, sure... Bet, thanks man."
Beep!
Who the hell is Power Loader? Whoever that guy is, apparently he is a support hero, and can create a better, combat ready prosthesis. I'm also thinking about revamping my Kusarigama too. Aizawa was talking about being a judge or something for a competition. I forgot the Sports Festival was today... I feel like I'm forgetting something else...
A second later he texts me a number along with the message of 'Don't be too bothersome'. Whatever...
I rang up the number...
Riiiing!
Riiiing!
Riiiing!-
"Who is this?"
This is supposed to be a support hero, right? Is this the right number?
"This is, uh, Gran Profeta? Jason Mendoza?" Man this is kinda awkward...
"Hmm... Okay. Your registered. What do you need? His slightly hoarse voice filled my ear as I said my requests.
"I'd like to see several things, can ya do weapons and prosthetics?"
"Weapons, yes, prosthetics, well, I'm going to have to see you in person for the prosthetic. Come to this address at 6 pm."
Ktch!
He... He hung up.
"Right..."
So what am I to do until that time?
And then I got an idea.
~~~~~

"Shut up bitch, [ストロングパンチ] (STRONG PUNCH)"

I ducked below a ferocious fist before immediately trying to grapple with the stupid bastard.

He was strong, very much so. But very, very inexperienced. What I mean by that is that he has the experience and technique of a backalley brawler.

So when I see this guy ganging up on a group of girls, I had to intervene.

"You big fuck! Just let me kill you!"

"Whatever, cockblocker!" He immediately swung at me again, making me sidestep towards his body and fire a jabi to his ribs, making him bend over slightly.

But that wasn't it, no no no. I'm not the type of guy that would let him recover from this!

I immediately went into a combo. Jabs, crosses, elbows, kicks, the whole works. I fired onto his tough body, aiming for the weaker spots, of course, before he froze up and slumped unconscious and beaten.

"Had he had more experience, he would've been some trouble." I yawned. I've been out for a while already, usually just wandering around until I found someone to beat up.

The group of ladies from earlier rushed up to me.

"Um, thank you so much for saving us! I was afraid he might've... Y'know?" One lady fidgeted.

"We really appreciate it, really! I was super scared!" Another slightly bowed in front of me, her hands up over her head in prayer.

"Thanks a lot. Really." A dark haired one mumbled, pushing up her glasses.

"Ah, its nothing. Please, stay safe, alright?" I said to them. As they left, the dark haired one walked back to me, much to the charigan of the others. She got out a little notebook, ripped a sliver out, and scratched out something with her pen. She had that on the ready?

"Here's my number. Call me." She said in a monotonous tone before racing back to the group

"Satsuki! You can't ask out every guy that talks to you! You know how that ended up!"

"He was hot though."

"I admire your bravery."

They went on about their day as I pocketed the slip of paper. Nice to see I still got it.

I went on about my day, walking around and...

My hair stood on its ends. My heart pumped faster than usual. My senses were screaming.

What the fuck?

I looked around me.

Where the fuck is everybody?

And then I heard them, the echo of shots reverberating all throughout the area. I noticed one person running to my direction.

"Hey! What's going on!?"

"We all got a warning that there's a shooting happening!" The middle aged man panicked.

"Alright, get to safely." I let him go as I took anoyher look around. This is weird, the streets are nearly silent, only some people still running around, no heroes around...

And the. It clicked.

This is a trap.

Fuck!

Immediately slipped my head to the left, letting what looked to be a bullet zip past me.

"Tch!" I immediately had to move my leg to dodge another.

"Damn it."

It was harder to use my quirk for people with long range attacks. My quirk focuses on what would happen with me or around me, so I'll probably have to set it to 15 seconds mentally in my mind.

Someone was after me.

Zip!

Another bullet.

My eyes sparked once more. Wait...

How the fuck can you curve a bullet?

I immediately contort my body farther away from a bullet, with it trying to hit me as it curved.

What the hell? Is this a type of bullet manipulation? Nah, it would've keep following me.

Zip!

I crouch down and jump backwards, immediately jumping away from the bullet that stood at my place.

This person can see me, no doubt. They shoot me dead on, and adjust whatever they do to my movement, so I make an extra maneuver as well. It seems they could only do it so much.

Zip!

Another dodge. It follows. I move once more.

One thing I gotta do is find them! The thing is, it's that the bullets are coming from all directions. Probably somewhere high, right?

BRRRRRR!

They switched guns? A slew of bullets flew all around me. Fuck, it'll be a tight squeeze. I maneuver my body to an area where they wouldn't reach.

Couldn't exactly evade the inevitable.

A bullet struck my calve, well, my real calve.

Shit. If they pull out a gun with a faster bullet rate, I might be cooked. How are they doing this? Its like all the bullets have been shot at once? Man the trees aren't moving- trees?

As I continued to run around, I noticed that the trees feel still.

Bang!

Sniper shot.

I somersault away as a bullet whizzes by my head.

The wind... There's no wind at all? I got it!

Some type of air or wind manipulation, for sure, but where is it going to? Where is the source? I look around and spot a tall building, immediately ramming myself through the entrance. It was an office building, filled with people hiding? What kind of operation is going on.

"Hey! Was there anyone that threatened you guys!?"

One man spoke up.

"H-he has a mask on! A-and white hair!" Hmm, I see.

"Thanks a lot. Stand under your desks and don't move. It's dangerous." I immediately rush up the stairs, floor after floor, I'm not risking the elevator. I eventually reach the rooftop, barreling through the door. I hear no bullets, must mean he can't-

Bang!

I dodge again.

What the hell? How can he still see me? I'm on one of the highest rooftops here so... Wind and air... Can he sense the air around me? But that wouldn't make sense, because I could just be anybody... But anybody wouldn't just run to a rooftop, so that's why he didn't shoot into the building...

I glance down at my phone, confirming my suspicions. The service was down, disabling any communication. I'm on my own here. There's still no heroes around either, so-

The Sports Festival! Shit! This was coordinated really good.

Now then, where the hell are you? I decide to go on the edge of the roof, taking a look around.

Zip!* Another bullet.

I look around more, running around before I see something that catches my eye. At first, I thought it was the cars from down below, but I realized it was too small, but too bright... A sniper scope! The glint finally showed itself to me. They seemed to notice too, as the glint went away. I then notice the man himself, walking out of the building he was in and looking directly at me. I just put my arms out and glared down below.

Come on, you want this shit!?

And then he fucking propels himself straight to where I was at in incredible speed. I immediately backfliped away. I'm guessing I was right in wind manipulation.

He stands fully to his height, his white hair still as he seemed to look at me from his black mask.

And then he began to float. He sheathes a small sword and a pistol, aiming at me.

"Your journey ends here, Jason. The skies belong to me. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide." At least he spoke English...

I immediately swing my Kusarigama at him, which he immediately dodged. He fires at me with his pistol, making me run and dodge around. I get closer and closer before he flies higher.

"That ain't fair!"

"Engaging."

He immediately flies down with incredible speed, his sword drawn to take my head off. I weave under and try to stab him, but only managed a slash. He backs up from me as he touches the small wound I gave him.

"When you get to hell, tell em Gaiden sent ya."

[Play: Impatient JJK OST]

He immediately zoomed after me, gliding sling the rooftops as he engaged his slashes at me. I get to work parrying his heavy blows. It's like he's circling me, using his momentum and the wind to deliver a blow.

We lock blades as we push for dominance, but I noticed he was about to pull up his pistol, making me immediately grab his other hand. I could tell he was strong, but I'm stronger. I sent a knee into his gut, getting my blade and immediately slashed at his body.

It was until I was blasted off my feet. He dropped his sword at some point and generated some wind to blow me away.

Bastard. I stood my ground as he brought his hands up.

"Gale Force!"

My eyes spark once more...

Oh shit. The whole area was immediately covered in wind. It felt like a damn tornado, sending me flying off the building as I plummeted to the ground. With some quick thinking and timing, I use my weapon to wind itself around a nearby traffic light, stopping my fall but landing my face first into the building.

"Damn it..."

He glided after me, but then just stood there until I noticed.

He was getting air from the air around him! So I had an idea, I immediately let go of my Kusarigama, letting the blade soar into the air, and what do you know, gets carried by the wind flowing towards Gaiden. He probably noticed as he immediately stopped. But I ain't that predictable. With this distraction, I went around behind him as my blade was in the air.

He immediately turned and struck behind him, only to see nothing.

I'm not that predictable.

I immediately sent my weight straight to his chin from right below him, making his head fly up. He was still in the air, he must have some good control. I wasted no time in lashing my blade at him, but he moved.

I knew where he was gonna move.

I didn't put all my force to the slash, but once I did, it went further than he had probably intended as it slashed at him, a small spray of blood leaking from him. I was going for the head, but I'll take what I can get. His chest was now oozing blood.

"I see. That is my mistake." He immediately flew down the street away from my range and allowed him to take in more air.

And then I noticed a ball of pure air building up behind him. It looked powerful, way too powerful. I could just dodge or hide somewhere...

But that's how losers think!

"Bring it!"

The wind blew so violent that it broke the windows around him.

"Gale Force, Supreme Art, The Divine Sandstorm!"

He let it loose.

It was fast. Very fast.

Time to use it myself then, right? It isn't my trump card, but it'll do.

Epitaph... Projection!

The world around me became almost black as I focused in on the massive ball of violent wind.

There you go...

You see, if I think really hard, I can see how my actions can affect the future. With this, I pull all of them together into a combination of "Jasons" doing different things in the nearby future. I was basically seeing all the options I had for me and ones that were possible, which is almost limitless. So I used it to see what I'm supposed to do.

Come on...

Come on...

Got it!

And so, I let my body guide me. Using my blade, with all my might and generating the most torque ever thought possible, I let it loose, swinging directly at the middle of the ball of wind, from the bottom to the top.

And then dispelled it.

In a flash, the wind practically burst in energy, sending it all over the place and wrecking everything around. Glass littered the streets as cars were flipped over. Cracks broke into the buildings around.

"Come on, I put a lot into that..." Gaiden seemed perplexed slightly, before running after me on foot. I noticed he wasn't flying around too. He got in his stance as I got in mine

Alright, let's go!

Gaiden immediately leads with a huge hook as I weave. And then the CQC commences.

I fire upon him in a series of blows. Punches and kicks as I dodge and duck the wind powered fists and kicks. I was getting cut, the wind being so sharp that when gliding around me it cut into me. No matter, this is my element anyway. He's good at technique, for sure, however...

I go to open palm him, making him lean back, but it was a feint, leading to a hard jab to the throat.

He lacks creativity. It seems as if a certain series of moves was drilled into him. If it was anyone else, they would've been defeated. I was built different, however.

I can telegraph his moves with no issue, following up with my own blows that he had difficulty taking and blocking, and I think he knew this as he backed away from me, before sending wind at me. As far as I could tell, these were slashes that could cut me in half if I moved wrong...

Weave. Jump. Dive. Turn. Slip.

They increased in intensity. The slashes more wild and powerful, before...

Oh shit. I can't dodge that one.

(insert sukuna's waffle cuts. best way I could describe it)

I'll live, but it'll hurt.

Slash!

With an attempt to maneuver my body into one of the spaces I saw, I managed to live. I was cut everywhere, my blood leaking out of the gashes on my body. It wasn't fatal, I wonder why... No time to question that. I rush towards the mercenary , weaving and fucking through his stupid waffle cuts, getting even more cut up.

You think this can stop me?

Are you kidding me?

You are trying to kill me, and this is what you do?

Are you fucking kidding me!?

I've dealt with worse, so much worse.

I'll kill you.

I'll kill you.

Man this is fun.

So fun.

I missed this.

I'll kill you where you stand, this road will be your grave!

[3rd Person POV]

Bloodlust is the amalgamation of pure malice, anger, and ferocious excitement come together, and oozes out of a person. Those like the Hero Killer, Stain, has such bloodlust.

It is always said that some people bring a different vibe to the group, making everyone inside or around feel happy, tense, or scared. It's a certain vibe, or aura one leaks outwards from themselves. Few actually know of this occurrence, chalking it up to personal opinions and beliefs of said person. Stain embodies the sense of fear, terror, and pure malice, his influence oozing out of his very body, making everyone around feel his rage.

Jason has such bloodlust.

Gaiden, just then, felt his blood run cold.

He is a killer, and a good one. Known for his sniping skills, only second to the mythical Lady Nagant, who is now locked away in Tartarus. His experience in killing both heroes and villains alike makes him a dangerous man to be around, especially with such a quirk like his. He was cold, calculating, and efficient.

So why is it, that all fell apart when the one man he was hired to kill looked at him so violently, so full of malicious brutality?

Jason fell back into a state he was long ago. A vigilante. A killer. A battle junkie.

And the one thing you don't want to do with a man like that, is get him excited.

Gaiden was getting tired. He never had to use his quirk this much at one time. Channeling air currents, using the Divine Sandstorm, and cutting through the air like a waffle takes control and stamina.

But he has experience! He hasn't been defeated yet!

Why is it that he hesitated, for the slightest second... After seeing his face?

Why does his legs hurt so bad? Why can't he move them? Why is there so much blood?

(End Music if still on)

After showering Jason in slashes, Jason speed blitzed the man. Gaiden attempted to follow along but was beaten by the former vigilante's brute strength. Gaiden got in a few good licks in here and there, Jason definitely slowed down after his onslaught, but he never let up. He got hit all over, and got caught on the temple of his head, momentarily giving him stars.

Jason immediately stabbed into Gaiden's legs, stab after stab in rapid succession before beating the man over the head with the weight. Tendons, ligaments, and tissues were severed completely. Stabbed him Toji style, pretty much.

Gaiden will never recover.

Blood spewed out of his legs, all the tendons in his knees severed.

The man collapsed to the ground, paralyzed.

Jason... Has won.

He stood there, eyeing the man.

"I... Lost..."

"You were too rigid. Uncreative. If you brought out that last attack earlier before I caught on, I would've probably died."

"I see..."

"... You were pretty tough, giving me a run for my money here. These scars will stay. You only lost because you went against me."

"Heh... This is Gaiden... Signing off..." Before succumbing to unconsciousness.

Everything felt blurry, his vision almost blacked out entirely. Lashes littered his whole body, slowly bleeding out.

"Man... At least my dick is fine..." He can hear the echoes of police sirens and yelling coming closer, the word must've gone out. Now that he was focusing, he looked up to see a... News helicopter?

This was going on the news.

Jason sighed to himself as he felt someone approach him.

"Mendoza! Mendoza! Shit, shit, shit! Are you okay!?" Tsukauchi, armed to the teethaling with his little police battalion. Heroes can be seen as well.

"Where... The fuck were you guys..." Jason mumbled.

"This whole sector was practically cut out. Security was scarce due to the need for heroes at the Sports Festival... I noticed something was up when I noticed there was absolutely no activity around here... Mendoza... What happened?"

Mendoza simply looked at him, his tired gaze leering at the distressed detective.

"Gimme a good ass burger, then we'll talk."

~~~~~
Later on...
[Jason POV]
Everything is sore. Everything hurts. This was gonna scar like crazy.
That Gaiden guy was taken into custody by the police as I was helped to the hospital. Thankfully, with their support quirk doctors on hand, I will be able to recover. Lines where the gashes were littered my body. Apparently it didn't do too much, but my intestines were cut quite a little bit, almost severing one of them. Glad it was a speedy trip...
So I sit in the bed, watching the TV. It was turned to the Sports Festival, it was around the end of some Calvary battle? I dunno, but I see some familiar faces out there.
...
Wait...
Fuck!
I jump out of the bed. They had my weapon on the first floor somewhere...
I gotta go do something. A doctor was running down the hallway as I stretched my limbs
"Hey! Get back here! You're not fully-"
"Yeah, I'm fine. You guys did a real good job."
"But-"
"Buh bye!" I say, before bolting it.
Am I being stupid? Yes. Will it hurt? Yes. Will I regret it? No.
I make it out, weapon in hand. I immediately track down a taxi. I can't believe I almost forgot... Sorry Mina, Kirishima.
"Oi! This address! Now!"
"Ah, uh, okay!"
~~~~~

[3rd Person POV]

Present Mic just called the Sports Festival, allowing a one hour break before the one on one matches.

"C'mon, Aizawa, let's get something to eat!"

"I'm gonna take a nap- whose calling me?" With a glance he looks at his vibrating phone.

With a click of a tongue, he answers.

"What do you-"

"Yo!"

"... What?"

"What kinda food is there over there?"

"Uhh..."

"Mendoza? Is that you? It's Yamada!"

"OH! Heya Yamada, how are you guys doing?"

"Oh we're doing mighty fine! Why are you asking about the food here?"

"Because I'm on my way!"

"Eh!? Really!? Awesome! I'll show you around!"

Aizawa nursed a rather large headache.

At this time, no one knew about Jason's battle with the mercenary, so no one would've told him to stay at the hospital to recover properly. Obviously, Jason did not care whatsoever.

For the reason why he was being so spontaneous with his actions is due to a small memory, back with the two children he thought about before...

~~~~~
Jason cleaned his countertop as Mina and Kirishima talked to him about whatever was going on in there lives.
"And then I was like, bam, y'know! It felt so cool!"
"It was really cool!"
"Really? Well, the work you two guys are putting in is incredible. Really." He pat both of their heads with a smirk.
"Say, Mr. Mendoza..." He turned to Mina.
"Yeah?"
"When we get to the sports festival... Can you watch me?"
"Me? Shouldn't you be asking your family?"
"Well, I want you to watch!" She refused to elaborate.
"Wait! Me too! I want a manly guy like you seeing all of my manliness!" Kirishima spoke up too.
"Really?" At the time, Jason didn't think this was possible for him, so he didn't want to give any false promises.
"It would mean a bunch!"
"Hell yeah it would!"
"Ah... I dunno..."
"I'll be sad if you don't..."
"Come on man, you could watch me beat everyone up!"
"Huh? Even me?"
"If it came down to it..."
"Nuh uh! I would wipe the floor with you!"
"Oh yeah!? Well maybe-" it devolved I to pointless arguing from there, leaving Jason in a predicament. He wanted to support the two, but he was currently under watch, so it would be probably impossible. But...
He felt a certain feeling in his heart when they wanted him to come...
~~~~~

A taxi pulled up as Jason burst through the door.

"Fuck yeah!"

He threw the payment to the taxi as he ran over to the festival. Man it was crowded here-

"You!"

'Oh, shit.'

Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods walked up to him, the woman humphed as Kamui gave him a polite hello.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to watch, obviously?"

"Whatever- what's with the scars?" She pointed to the rather fresh scars he had. He was grateful for the power of healing quirks...

"A guy got a little violent."

"Ah... Well, whatever, loser. C'mon, Kamui."

"Uh... Nice seeing you, Mendoza?"

"Likewise." He waved them off as he went into the arena.

Well, not before buying a bunch of food. A little of pretty much everything. He was a chef, of course he would!

"Now then..." He glanced to the left and to the right.

"Where to go..." So he just sets off in some random direction, reminiscent of a green haired swordsman.

...

Suffice to say, he was lost.

"Man where the hell."

"Mendoza!" With a jump, he looked ahead of him to see... All Might? This was after him and Endeavor talked whatever they had to talk about.

"How do you know my name..." Jason went on the defensive.

"Uh, Toshinori told me a lot about you!" He then laughed his signature All Might laugh.

"Right..."

"..."

"I'm going now."

"Wait! How are you doing!?" He literally appeared before the man, much to his charigan.

"Why does this matter to someone like you..."

"You seem to be a rather exciting and experienced person! I just want to check on a fellow hero! One hero to another!"

"Quit that."

"Excuse me?"

"Toshinori told you about me, huh? Well, I don't care about any of your shit." He begins to walk by the large hero.

"Don't try to pull me in to this whole idea. I'm not a hero. Quit treating me like I'm someone that needs to be saved or something. Buzz off." And with that, he leaves the number one hero to himself.

"Ho boy..." All Might sweatdropped as he was a little put off by that, but decided that he would come around. He had faith, after all, that he could be changed and helped. He was always inspired by his heroic acts during the New York Incident, finding a lot of himself in Jason. Well, mostly their recklessness and selfishness.

Jason did some more wandering around, eating at his numerous dishes, before finally coming up on the pathway towards the seating. He wasn't too far from the middle, so he could be seen.

"What the fuck..." He witnessed some robot engine boy run around while a pink haired girl flew on a jetpack all around the place. She was advertising various items and doodads.

"Huh..." After that wrapped up, it was time for the next fight.

"Man... Did they already fight or-"

"Next up on the block is the dancing pink queen, Mina Ashido!" The crowd roared as she went out, waving to the crowd.

Jason didn't say anything yet, he didn't want to distract her.

"And on the other side is the dazzling Yuga Aoyama!" The boy... Twinkled? He wasn't really sure but he really thought he was.

"Now let's get this started, folks! Three... Two... One! Go!"

Aoyama immediately sends it a whole ass laser as Mina dodges and weaves between his lasers. Jason couldn't help but grin. The boy the held his stomach in anguish, as Mina immediately takes the chance and melts her opponents belt, and then throwing a mean uppercut, immediately taking him out.

'Well damn, Mina. Didn't know you were on one like that!'

The crowd cheered as Mina was declared the winner.

Meanwhile, down below, Mina basked in the glory she was receiving. Here she was, in the Sports Festival! Thousands watching at this second, and damn it she was gonna enjoy it.

"Yo!"

It was a random glance, to her. It wasn't even in response to the sudden yell of a spectator. But when she saw who it was...

Jason peered down at her, giving her a lazy thumbs up.

Her face lit up immediately. He really did come! She waved from down below with both of her hands as she walked out of the arena.

Jason chuckled. Good for her, he thought-

"Mendoza!"

"GAH!?" The man immediately felt her arms around him.

"Damn! You can't sneak up on me like that!? How the fuck did you get up here so fast!?"

"Ah, I was so excited! My family couldn't come, but I saw you up there! Did you watch? I went all over the place and I gave him a good one, y'know?" She excitedly told the man.

"Hey wait a minute, what's with those scars!?" She pointed towards the thin lines that now adorned Jason's body.

'Fuck, what do I say!?'

"I got in a little accident."

"That was a little accident!? Be more careful!"

"Yes ma'am..."

They talked some more before Jason had to dismiss her.

"Don't you got another match? You better get ready, Mina!"

"Ah, your right... Wish me luck!"

"You don't need it!"

"Hah!"

She ran off with a wave as Jason stood there with a smile. He admired her bubbly personality and determination. She'll go far, for sure.

"Well, I guess I'll keep watching this..." He wasnt particularly interested in anything else...

"I kinda feel like someone is thinking about me..." He looked around before scratching his head.

"Oh well."

"You did well, Gaiden."

~~~~~
And that's a wrap! I think I wrote a little too much... I think I got a little carried away here...
I know the turnaround from a do or die battle to the Sports Festival is a little jarring, but this is how I feel Jason would act. Spontaneous, reckless, and caring, that's what he simply is. Don't worry he'll feel the effects of his rashness later, but a promise is a promise in his eyes, and damn it he would fulfill it.
Gaiden was a hired killer by whoever hired him. I felt that I wanted to make his personality a clean slate, just a man following his orders and nothing more, second in fame and skill to Lady Nagant. I hope he wasn't too bland...
It seems that whoever hired Gaiden isn't done with Jason yet, I think we'll be in for a surprise next chapter! Until then, I think I'll let Jason enjoy himself before I have to break the news...
Anyways, thank you so much for reading this long chapter, and I hope to see you guys in the next one! Buh bye ;)
