If you were to ask anyone who knew me, they'd call me average. I have my own strengths, sure! But I make sure not to stand out too much. That's the way things are in this god forsaken town. You make a name for yourself and everyone just drags out down, down, down.

These were the thoughts that occupied my mind as I stared a hole in the grey sky. It would snow soon, if the forecasts were to be believed, and they were.

I could feel my nose start to burn from the cold, one smoke couldn't hurt. I fished my black cigarette case and lighter from the inside of my hot pink, $500, super cozy, limited edition "CUTE!" jacket I only got to wear once a year, it doesn't normally get this frosty.

But before I could find my prize, something flashed in the side of my vision. It was bright, aside from the dreary sky, so I convinces myself to take another look. Then suddenly, I found myself fully trotting over, peeking around the corner. Sneaky!

A loud hiss sounded off from the machine shaped like a giant egg. The logo on the side was easily recognizable. The twin "C"s of the Capsule Corporation. They were synonymous with wealth and class. Regular people could barely afford to get a Dyna-Cap suitcase, let alone a full sized vehicle.

Once the steam cleared, and the top half of the egg opened, I could see the person who was piloting the ship(?). It looked to be a young man, probably not even 20 yet. He had lavender hair and a strong face. Far too serious for his apparent age. It seems like he hadn't noticed me just yet, as he started speaking aloud.

"So, I've made it back. It's finally here. One more job and it'll all be done."

Raising my internal gamble with the boy's age to be around 21, I shuffled into view. He didn't sound like a bad guy (yet), but his expression was haunting, it seemed like he could use a friend. Be grateful, mystery travel boy!

He stiffened up upon seeing me, like someone being caught doing something suspicious. He was definitely on edge.

"How did you-!?" Stun turned to disbelief as he hopped out of his seat, springing through the air and gently landing a few paces away from me. What exactly was this guy? First he shows up in the Expensive Egg™, and now he just performed a jump that would put the Olympics to shame? The discombobulated puzzle pieces that were my brain snapped together all at once, and I could feel my eyes grow to the size of saucers.

"Oh my god! You're an alien!" I started examining him in true Earth fashion, checking for anything strange. All I got was that guy was built like a wall. No wonder he could make that jump look easy. "What's your name? Where are you from?" Unashamed, I let my excitement get the better of me, I could swear I saw his cheeks get a little redder.

I was interrupted suddenly as he picked me up by my head and placed me back in the spot from whence I came.

"Whoa there. You're way too hands-on. I suppose you're partially correct, but I was born here." He chuckled a bit, his face softening.

"I'm Trunks. Nice to meet you. Since I answered your question, mind if I ask a few of my own?"

I nodded more than I needed to.

"Of course! My name's Note, ask away!"

"Thanks. What year is it?"
