Hey!
A couple of days ago, I went to the movies to see Deadpool and Wolverine, and let me tell you, it was one of the few times I've left the theater with my stomach aching from laughter. Ryan Reynolds is undoubtedly one of the best at spontaneous and irreverent comedy.
On my way home, I started thinking, what if I gave Izuku Deadpool's powers? Wouldn't that be hilarious? And that's how this idea came to life.
As you may have seen in the summary, this One-Shot is my way of exploring Izuku breaking the fourth wall and saying ridiculous things that would drive Bakugou crazy.
I have nothing more to add except to enjoy the story, and I'll see you at the end.
Disclaimer: I don't own MHA, and I'm obviously not Disney, Marvel, or Ryan Reynolds. I don't hold any rights to Deadpool.
Hero with a Mouth
In the midst of a chaotic battleground, where debris rains from the sky and explosions light up the night, a lone figure stands amidst the wreckage, striking an over-the-top superhero pose. He's surrounded by a gaggle of hapless villains, all wearing expressions that range from bewilderment to sheer terror.
"Hey there, dear reader! Izuku Midoriya here, but not the one you're used to. No, no, I'm now sporting a green and black suit that screams 'mercenary makeover,' and let's just say my life's taken a turn for the chaotic. Yep, I've got Deadpool's powers now, and boy, it's been a wild ride! So, if you were expecting the same old hero story, buckle up. This is more like a genre mash-up you didn't know you needed. It's like someone tossed a comic book, a superhero flick, and a satirical action movie into a blender and hit 'frappe.'"
As Izuku dodges a flurry of attacks from a villain with a gleaming, overly dramatic outfit, he grins at the camera with a mix of mischief and nonchalance. "Right now, I'm in the middle of a fight with a villain who seems to have stepped out of a bargain-bin catalog of bad guys. You know the type—generic outfit, evil laugh, and a grandiose plan to take over the world. Except, instead of being terrified or even a little concerned, I'm cracking jokes about how cliché this whole setup is. 'Oh look, it's a villain monologue!' I say. 'How original!'"
As he dodges a clumsy punch and counters with a swift, sarcastic retort, Izuku gestures to his suit. "Seriously, look at this suit. It's like my old hero costume decided it needed a dark, edgy makeover. You know, for those 'I'm too cool for this' vibes. And I'm supposed to be taking this seriously? Nah, I'd rather poke fun at how absurd it all is."
Izuku spins and kicks another villain, sending them crashing into a pile of rubble. "So, I'm sure you're wondering how I ended up in this ridiculous getup with Deadpool's powers. Let's rewind a bit. Picture me, the same old Quirkless kid dreaming of heroics, when suddenly—BAM!—I'm face-to-face with this mysterious figure who's like, 'Hey, you want some superpowers?' And I'm all like, 'Duh, yes!' Cue dramatic flashback montage where I get hit with Deadpool's Quirk, complete with cheesy effects and lots of 'wow, this is really happening' moments. It was as over-the-top as it sounds."
The flashback bursts into view with vibrant, exaggerated colors. Young Izuku stands awestruck as the enigmatic figure grants him Deadpool's powers, depicted with a flurry of comic-book-style explosions and cheesy effects. Izuku's voice-over continues, "Yep, that's right. Healing factor? Check. Expert combat skills? Double check. I'm dodging attacks like they're nothing. It's like having a permanent cheat code for life."
Back in the present, Izuku's dodging and weaving through the villain's poorly aimed attacks. "Seriously, who needs stress when you've got super-healing powers? I can get shot, stabbed, or blown up and just shrug it off. It's like having an eternal get-out-of-jail-free card. And these villains? They're as predictable as a plot twist in a soap opera. 'I will crush you!' they yell. I'm just like, 'Wow, didn't see that one coming.' It's almost like they're reading from a script!"
Izuku mockingly parries an attack and retorts, "I mean, who would've thought that a villain with a 'world domination' plan would actually have a predictable evil monologue? And let me tell you, their dramatic pauses are longer than my grandma's stories about the good old days!"
He kicks another villain, sending them sprawling, and then flashes a cheeky grin at the camera. "You know, I even joked with the villain about how their monologue was dragging on. 'Could you speed it up? I've got a hot date with some pizza after this!'"
As Izuku continues his irreverent combat, the camera zooms out to capture the full chaos of the battlefield. The scene is filled with debris, smoke, and the occasional villain being flung through the air. Izuku's voice-over is a constant stream of sarcastic commentary and self-aware humor. "I've got to say, this whole hero gig has taken a turn for the absurd. Who knew that fighting evil could come with this much comedic relief?"
As Izuku Midoriya continues to revel in his chaotic fight, the battlefield becomes even more intense. His green and black suit flares with every exaggerated movement, a blend of Deadpool's flair and his own heroic spirit. Each villain he faces seems to be a caricature of evil, their plans as predictable as their dialogue.
"Oh, and look at this guy," Izuku remarks, casually dodging a barrage of fireballs. "Trying to cook me alive, huh? Cute. But I prefer my villains with a side of wit, not just flames." He leaps gracefully over an incoming fireball and lands behind the villain, delivering a swift kick that sends them crashing into a wall.
He spins around, catching a flying fist from another villain with ease. "And here we have Mr. Fisty McPuncherson! Nice try, but you're gonna need more than just brute force to take me down." With a dramatic flourish, he flings the villain into the air and then catches them by the collar, holding them up as if they're a prize.
"I mean, come on," he continues, addressing no one in particular. "Can't villains come up with something more creative? I'm starting to think they're all reading from the same script. Maybe they should start a book club or something. 'How to Monologue and Lose in Ten Easy Steps.'"
As he flips through the air, dodging an incoming barrage of energy blasts, he continues his commentary. "Seriously, look at these guys. They've got the classic villain look down—dark outfits, sinister grins, and a knack for monologuing. 'I will crush you!' they shout. How original! It's like they've got a villainy handbook they're working from."
Izuku grabs a nearby chunk of debris and uses it to deflect a villain's laser attack. "And let's not forget the classic moves. You know, the ones where the villains attack one at a time, giving me plenty of opportunities to make witty remarks. 'Oh, you missed me? Better luck next time!'"
He kicks a villain into the air, catches another's punch mid-flight, and uses their momentum to send them crashing into a pile of rubble. "And here's a fun fact: Deadpool's healing factor makes this whole fight a lot more enjoyable. I mean, I can get shot, stabbed, or blown up, and just shrug it off. It's like having a cheat code for life. No stress, just pure, unadulterated fun."
Izuku notices a villain trying to sneak up behind him. He spins around, grabs them by the collar, and throws them into the air. "Oh, were you trying to sneak up on me? Sorry, I'm a bit preoccupied with making this fight entertaining. Can't blame a guy for trying, right?"
With a swift kick, he sends another villain sprawling. "Seriously, though, if I had a dime for every time a villain said something cliché, I'd be rich. 'Prepare to meet your doom!' Really? Doomsday speeches are so last season. How about a bit of originality?"
Just as Izuku is about to finish off the last group of villains, the ground shakes with a dramatic intensity.
Amidst the chaos, Bakugou's explosive entrance has drawn even more attention. He's blasting through groups of villains, his explosions creating a series of fiery shockwaves that ripple through the battlefield. "Damn it, Deku! What the hell is this circus?!" he roars, his voice barely audible over the din of battle. "Are you seriously talking to yourself while fighting? This isn't a comedy show! Get serious!"
Izuku looks over his shoulder, still grinning. "Hey, Kacchan! Just because I'm cracking jokes doesn't mean I'm not taking this seriously. I'm just making sure we all have a little fun while saving the world. Besides, you know I work best under pressure."
Bakugou's irritation is evident as he throws another explosive burst, sending several villains sprawling. "You're a damn menace! I swear, if you keep this up, I'm gonna lose it!"
Meanwhile, Todoroki's entrance is a contrasting display of controlled power. With a wave of his hand, he sends a massive blast of ice across the battlefield, freezing several villains in their tracks. He surveys the scene with a raised eyebrow, his expression a mix of disbelief and curiosity.
"I didn't think you'd be so... theatrical, Midoriya," Todoroki says, his voice calm but with a hint of exasperation. "Is this how you always handle villains?"
Izuku dodges an incoming laser attack and gives Todoroki a thumbs-up. "Oh, absolutely! If I can't make a fight entertaining, then what's the point? Plus, it's not every day you get to work with someone who freezes villains solid and someone else who blows stuff up. It's like we're in an action movie or something."
Bakugou, clearly fed up, detonates a series of explosions that force the remaining villains to retreat. "This is ridiculous!" he screams loudly. "We've got a job to do, and you're treating it like a fucking joke."
Izuku shrugs nonchalantly as he effortlessly dispatches another villain with a spinning kick. "Hey, Kacchan, lighten up! We're heroes, not robots. If we can't enjoy ourselves while saving the day, then we're doing it wrong. Besides, you guys are making this too easy."
Todoroki, still methodically using his ice powers to subdue villains, finally cracks a small smile. "I suppose there's some merit to finding enjoyment in the midst of chaos. Though I must admit, your approach is... unconventional."
Izuku grins widely as he sends another villain flying with a well-placed punch. "Unconventional is my middle name!" He says while showing an ID Card that showed the name 'Izuku Archibald Midoriya' "Well, not really, but you get the idea. We're out here saving the world, so why not add a little flair to the process?"
Bakugou's frustration is evident as he continues his assault on the villains. "Focus on the fight, Deku! We don't need your commentary. Just help us finish this!"
Izuku shrugs as he lands gracefully beside Todoroki, still cracking jokes. "What can I say? I'm all about making the most out of every situation. Besides, who needs boring when you can have a high-octane mix of action and comedy?"
As the villains are quickly subdued by the combined efforts of Izuku, Bakugou, and Todoroki, Izuku takes a moment to appreciate the absurdity of it all. "Look at this—superhero teamwork at its finest. Bakugou's bringing the explosions, Todoroki's bringing the ice, and I'm here to add a bit of comedic relief. It's like a buddy movie, but with way more chaos and less script."
In the midst of the battle, with villains being easily dispatched and Bakugou and Todoroki taking down the rest, Izuku stands amidst the wreckage, striking a dramatic pose. "Isn't it weird how I'm in the middle of an epic fight, yet I'm having this deep, existential crisis?" he muses aloud. "It's like being in a superhero satire with a side of self-aware humor. Gotta love character growth, right?"
He looks over at Bakugou and Todoroki, who are now working together to subdue the remaining villains. "Seriously, though, I never thought I'd see the day when Bakugou and Todoroki would be in the middle of a fight with me, making things look like a three-person superhero show. It's almost poetic in its absurdity."
The chaos of the battlefield begins to wane as Izuku Midoriya, clad in his green and black suit, takes center stage. The last of the villains, visibly battered and demoralized, try desperately to activate their doomsday device. The villain's grandiose scheme to blow up the city is met with Izuku's trademark irreverence.
As the villain babbles about their world-ending plot, Izuku easily dodges a series of attacks, his movements a seamless blend of agility and sheer unpredictability. "Wow, how original," Izuku remarks, effortlessly rolling beneath an incoming laser beam and backflipping to a standing position. "A giant device that's going to blow up the city? You know, I think I saw this exact plotline in a B-grade action movie once."
Bakugou glares at him, his patience wearing thin. "Will you stop yammering and help out already?"
Izuku responds with a wink. "Sure thing, Kacchan! Just needed a moment to appreciate how absurd this all is."
With the villains subdued and the immediate threat neutralized, Izuku stands among the wreckage, surveying the aftermath. He dusts off his hands with exaggerated gestures, clearly enjoying the moment. "Well, that was a bit underwhelming," he declares, looking around at the scattered debris. "You know, I bet the writer's just dragging this out to hit the word count. We could've finished this in half the time!"
Bakugou huffs, crossing his arms. "Goddammit, Deku, don't you have an off button?!"
Izuku grins, clearly relishing Bakugou's annoyance. "Hey, it's all part of the show!"
As the dust settles and the battlefield is cleared, Izuku turns to address the camera once more. "Alright, folks," he says, raising his voice above the noise of the recovering heroes and villains. "It's time to say goodbye. Thanks for joining me on this wild ride. I hope you enjoyed the 'new and improved' version of me. Who knows, maybe there'll be a sequel if the author decides to let me have another go. Or maybe not. Either way, it's been a blast!"
THE END
Or not.
Suddenly, the image brightens, revealing an abandoned alleyway lit by flickering streetlights. The camera pans slowly, revealing discarded hero equipment and scattered debris, a stark contrast to the earlier chaos.
Just as the scene seems to settle into eerie calm, a familiar green and black figure stumbles into view, seemingly out of breath and looking disheveled. It's Izuku Midoriya, but not in his typical confident, Deadpool-esque manner. He looks genuinely worried and out of sorts, his suit slightly torn and dirtied.
"Alright, what's this? A surprise twist in the middle of the credits?" Izuku mutters, looking around with a mix of confusion and wariness. "Didn't know my epic hero monologue came with a free 'What the heck?' moment."
As he takes in his surroundings, a dark, cloaked figure emerges from the shadows. The figure is shrouded in a billowing cloak, with a hood that obscures their face. The most striking feature is the plague doctor's mask they wear—a long, curved beak and deep, hollow eye sockets glowing ominously.
Izuku's eyes widen, his usual cheeky grin faltering slightly. "Oh, come on! Seriously? A plague doctor? I thought this was a hero gig, not a historical reenactment!"
The cloaked figure glides forward, their presence causing the shadows to writhe and dance as if alive. The mask's eye sockets seem to gleam with a strange, otherworldly light. The atmosphere grows tense, as if charged with a silent, sinister promise.
Finally, the figure speaks, their voice low, echoing in the dim light. "You've stirred quite a storm, Izuku. But this—" They sweep their arm in a dramatic gesture. "—is merely the prologue. The true test awaits."
Izuku blinks, trying to process the situation. "Prologue, huh? Great, just what I needed—more existential dread and cryptic warnings. Wasn't I just wrapping up a villain monologue? Now I've got to deal with a masked weirdo?"
The figure's mask glows faintly, and they begin to retreat into the shadows. "This is just the beginning. What's to come will be far more challenging."
Izuku watches as the figure vanishes, his expression shifting to one of exaggerated mock-terror. "Oh no, not the 'challenging' stuff! Anything but that!" he says with a dramatic sigh, rolling his eyes. "Just what I needed after a long day of breaking the fourth wall and cracking jokes."
As the shadows reclaim the alley, the light fades, leaving Izuku alone in the encroaching darkness. He stands there for a moment, hands on his hips, looking resolutely at the vanishing light.
"Well, this is just peachy," Izuku says, flashing a wide grin at the darkness. "Looks like my vacation is officially over. If anyone needs me, I'll be over here, trying not to freak out and maybe, just maybe, figuring out what kind of mess I've gotten myself into."
And here it is!
I had a lot of fun writing this. As I wanted to try something less serious and different from what I normally do in The Force Awakens (Go check it out).
But what do you think?
By the way, the doctor plague mask wearing figure in the "post-credits scene" is me. Maybe in the future I'll write a more structured story about this idea, but for now, it will just be a One-Shot.
Without further ado, I'm off. If you enjoyed this, feel free to check out my other works. See you later!
