Ahsoka wished she were anywhere but here. She and Anakin had been called back to Coruscant to be gaurds at some senate party, and she hated it. Well hate was a strong word but it was the best she could think of. There was a dull pounding sensation in her head now. She groaned, reached into a small compartment on her belt and pulled out a small bottle. She popped open the lid and poured four small white tablets into the palm of her hand before closing the lid and returning the bottle to her belt. She deposited the tablets under her tongue and waited for them to desolve before swallowing and then waiting for her headache to subside. It was a combination of things really, all the people talking and the music in the background were just alot. The Force was noisy too, everyone's Force signatures blending together in to a dizzying emotional kaleidoscope. She hadn't wanted to come to the party because she knew this would happen and she had tried to tell Anakin but he was to preoccupied to listen, at this very moment he talking to Senator Amidala. She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up, "Master Kenobi!" she said, surprised to her grandmaster there. She shouldn't have been surprised, she should have sensed him but she had been so overwhelmed by all of the other Force signatures that she had been having a hard time paying attention.

"Ahsoka," he said, "I have do a perimeter sweep outside and I thought you might like to join me."

"Yes Master." she said, it was as though he had sensed her feelings. Than she realized, he probably had.

Once they were outside he said, "I take it you don't care for these sorts of events?"

"It's not that I don't like them Master, well I don't, but that's not the problem." she said and then explained, "All the noise and the people, it's just alot, and no matter how much I try to block it out I can still feel it. I tried to tell Anakin but he was..." she trailed of.

"Preoccupied?" Obi-Wan supplied, when she nodded he continued, "I understand how you feel Ahsoka, I've always felt the same. When I was your age my master and I had a mission very much like this. I got so overwhelmed that I passed out, after that whenever my master and I had to do gaurd duty for parties we would always ask to be assigned outside. Perhaps from now on, should we ever have to do this again, you would like to join me for outdoor gaurd duty?"

Ahsoka let her gratitude and relief flood their bond as she said, "I would love to Master Kenobi, thank you!"

Obi-Wan smiled, "One more thing Ahsoka, next time you have a problem and Anakin is to preoccupied with...other things, feel free to come to me. I like to think I picked up a bit my master's wisdom over the years and it would be a shame to let all that good advice go to waste."

Ahsoka nodded, "Yes Master, thank you" she said. And so Ahsoka spent the rest of the party outside with her Grandmaster watching the glowing Coruscant night sky, checking the area for any potential security threats, and eagerly listening as Obi-Wan told her about the adventures he went on as Padawan. Perhaps gaurd duty was so bad after all.

A/N: I just got this idea and decided I had to write it. I tend to get sort of a sensory overload in situations where there are alot of other people and lots of background noise and I feel like Ahsoka is probably the same way, especially with her Togruta hearing. I also really wanted an Ahsoka and Obi-Wan bonding fic. This is my first time writing Fanfiction so please read and review. Feedback will be welcome but please be nice as I'm still new to this. (Edit: 8/16/2024) I can't believe this was my first fanfiction. Thanks to everyone who liked, followed, and reviewed this story. I hole I made it more readable by breaking up the text.
